//-------------------------------------------------------// Long Lost Friends -by TotallyGory- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Long Lost Friends Part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Long Lost Friends Part 1 The early morning sun was shining all over Ponyville. The birds were chirping, the water was flowing through the river, and everypony was sleeping. But, they won't be for long. Because today, it was the first day of school for the new fillies and colts.  Or the ones that already went to school last year. So they have to get up. Twilight was happily sleeping in her warm, comfy bed with her Smarty Pants doll close to her side. When all of a sudden, somehow, a tiny line of sunlight managed to beam sunshine near her eyes. She squinted her eyes, even though they were still shut, and finally opened them, to see the beautiful Celestia sun. She raised from her bed, yawned, then stretched her limbs. "Oh my gosh!" Twilight began, "It's the first day of school!" Twilight then got out of her bed, and immediately started going through anything that she might need for the first day of school. "Now let's see: pencil's, check, note book, check, crayons, check, saddle bag, check..." her stomach growled. "Heh heh, food, un-check." She put all of her items in her saddle bag, then headed downstairs to get some breakfast. Then remembered that her mother told her before she went to bed, "If Shining Armor isn't up when you head downstairs, wake him up." she stopped in front of his door and knocked. "Hey, Shining! It's time to get up!" Twilight shouted. No response. She knocked a little bit harder and yelled a little louder. "Shining! Wake up!" she heard a tired grumble on the other side of the door. Twilight opened the door and saw her brother's head underneath his pillow, blocking the sun light. She ran over to the side of his bed. "Come one big brother, it's the first day of school!" "Ugh, tell mom I'm sick." Shining grumbled. "You don't sound sick." "Well, I am." Twilight got up on top of him, then started jumping up and down. "Come on! Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up..." "Fine, geez!" "Yay!" They both headed down stairs when suddenly, they smelt the most amazing smell of all time. The sweet smell of delicious home-made pancakes made my a loving mother. When they entered the kitchen, they saw their father reading the "Daily Ponyville", and their mother cooking those delicious pancakes. She saw Twilight and Shining enter, then levitated a plate full of pancakes to the table, three plates other plates for the family, and some forks. "Good morning Twilight, good morning Shining Armor." their mother happily greeted them. "Good morning mom!" Twilight and Shining said at the same time. "How did you two sleep?" "I was too excited to sleep, but I did anyway." Twilight responded. "I was just fine sleeping, but Twilight woke me up." Shining Armor gave Twilight kind of a mean look. "Now Shining Armor, don't give your sister that look." "Yes mother." Shining quickly gave in. Last time he talked back to her, he had to do some work for his father. And he knew how much of a pain that was. "Now, finish your breakfast, go brush your teeth, then I'll take you both to school." their mother said. "Okay mom." Twilight said happily. "Sure." Shining said not so happily. After they were done eating, they headed upstairs to the bathroom so they can brush their teeth. As they were doing so, Twilight was thinking, why wasn't Shining Armor excited for school as she was. Because last year, it was his first day of school and he was REALLY excited, and now this. After doing what their mother told them to do, they both got their supplies for school, then they were off. As they were walking, Twilight kept an eye on Shining Armor, and still, he was still being, mopey. Since their mother was trotting a little faster then they are, Twilight decided to ask Shining Armor what's wrong. "Hey big brother?" Twilight asked. "Yeah?" "Why aren't as excited for school as you were last year?" Shining Armor sighed, "Well, I wanted to go to that Canterlot Guard school in Canterlot. But mom and dad said I have to be attending a normal school like everyone else. But the thing I really want to do, is have a chance to be one of the Canterlot Guards." Twilight thought about his answer, and she was a little heart broken actually. First, her brother doesn't like Ponyville as much as she does. Second, what if they DO have to go to Canterlot? What if they move away, and all of her best friends will be left behind? She sighed. "Come one you two!" their mom yelled out to them, "We still have to get you to school!" At the Sweet Apple Acres farm, Big Macintosh and Applejack were already ready for school. "Alrighty then, are ya two ready?" Granny Smith asked both of her grand children. "I'm ready!" Applejack replied happily. "Eyup." "Okay, then let's git going." "Uh, Granny?" Applejack interjected. "Yes?" "Aren't ya forgetting something?" "Hmm....Oh, that's right." Granny Smith put on a baby saddle on her back, then put little filly Applebloom in it. "Okay, NOW let's go." They finally left their humble home, and were off to school. As they walked, Applejack seemed very excited to be going to school. "Oh boy, ah'm sure excited to meet mah friends again!" Big Macintosh didn't reply. Why? Because he never had any friends. Throughout his first school year, he never made a single friend. Mostly because he was to shy to talk to anypony. Applejack looked at her brother and saw the sad look on his face. "Oh, sorry Big Mac. Ah forgot ya'll didn't have no friends." "Eyup." he replied sadly. "Oh come on, ah'm sure you can make one of the bestest friends in Equestria!" That cheered Big Macintosh a little bit. Hearing his little sisters optimism, kinda made him feel better. Both families were making their way to school, and eventually they did. But, when both of the families were outside of the school door, that's when Big Macintosh saw HER. This is part of an introduction, where everypony is a filly or a colt. I don't know how many intro parts there will be, so you know. //-------------------------------------------------------// Long Lost Friends Part 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Long Lost Friends Part 2 It was a lavender Unicorn, with another colt, who looked like her brother. Also, there was a mare as well, and she looked like she could be her mother. "Twilight!" Applejack shouted to that lavender Unicorn. Twilight. Such a sweet name. "Applejack!" she responded to Applejack. Well now Big Macintosh knew who that Unicorn was. "Oh man, it sure is nice to see ya again Twilight." "Same to you." then they both hugged each other. "Well, hello Applejack." that older mare said to Applejack. "Twilight's mom, it nice to see ya again too." "Same to you." the older mare replied. "Hey Applejack." the colt that was with Twilight. "Hey Shining Armor, how ya'll been?" "I've had better days." "Heh, havn't we all? Oh, I almost forgot, Big Macintosh!" Applejack shouted to her brother. Big Macintosh froze in place. He was really nervous meeting that pretty filly and the other two. But, he quickly shook that fear away and trotted to the group. As he got closer, he noticed he was a bit bigger than the colt standing next to Twilight. And about neck level to the older mare. "Everyone, this is mah big brother, Big Macintosh." "Well hello there Big Macintosh." the older mare said to him. But he said nothing. "He don't really talk much." Applejack pointed out. "Well that's nothing to be ashamed of." the older mare said. "Wait, Big Macintosh you said?" the colt asked. "Yup, that's his name." "I think I remember you." Big Macintosh started to get nervous. "Weren't you that colt that always sat at an empty table during lunch?" "Eyup." Big Macintosh said sadly. "He don't got no friends." Applejack added. "Well, I'll be happy to be your friend Mac" the other colt said to him. "Me too!" Twilight added. This caused Big Macintosh to smile. "Well thank ya'll very much. Big Mac would love that." Applejack said to all of them. That's when the school bell rang. "Well, all of you better get to class. Don't wanna be late on your first day!" the older mare said to the younglings. "By the way, I'm Shining Armor, and this is my little sister Twilight." Big Macintosh just smiled. "I'll be here after school to take you two home!" Shining Armor's and Twilight's mother yelled out to them before the doors closed behind them. Twilight and Applejack headed into a different direction to their classroom, while Big Macintosh and Shining Armor went to theirs. Soon enough, they saw, "2nd Grade" sign next to a door. When they entered, they saw all of the filly's and colts they saw last year. Some were talking amongst each other, some were preparing themselves for the class to start, and some were just waiting at a random desk. Shining Armor and Big Macintosh put their saddle bags at the cubbies near the doorway and sat down at desks somewhere in the middle of all the class. "So, what did you do during summer Big Mac?" Shining Armor asked. Big Mac was too shy to respond. "Well?" He remained silent. "Huh, you don't talk much do you?" "Nope." "Hey, you just talked. That's good." "Eyup." "Hey, you just said another word. Soon enough you'll-" "Good morning class!" somepony said as they entered the classroom. "Good morning!" everypony replied at the same time. "I hope you all had a very fun summer. My name is Ms...." Big Macintosh wasn't really paying attention after that. He was just thinking of Twilight the rest of the school day. Finally, the school bell on top of the school rang. Everypony scattered out the door and headed on back to their homes. Shining Armor and Big Macintosh were waiting for their little sisters outside the hallyway of their classroom. Soon enough, they went out the kindergarden class and saw their brothers standing there. Hi girls!" Shining Armor said. "Hi!" Twilight and Applejack said at the same time. "How was your first day of school?" "It was better than I expected. First, we started learning the alphabet. Then we learned some numbers, then we-" "Then we hoofpainted!" Applejack interrupted. "Oh yeah, and we hoofpainted." "Sounded like fun." "It was! So, what did you do?" "Well-" "There you two are," Twilight and Shining Armor's mother showed up from down the hallway, "come on, we have to go home." "Okay!" Shining Armor said as he walked past his mother and out the door. "Hey, Big Macintosh?" Twilight asked. Big Macintosh looked at Twilight. "I was thinking, maybe you wanna go and play with me tomorrow?" Big Macintosh smiled, "Eyup." "Yay! See you tomorrow!" Twilight waved to him and ran off. Big Macintosh trotted his way out the school door. "Well there ya are yungin'. Come on, we best be gittin' home!" Granny Smith said while carrying Applebloom. "Howdy Applebloom. Do ya'll wann hear what ah did t'day?" Applebloom made a small giggle. "Okay, well first..." Then the Apple Family made there way back to their farm. It was about sunset when the Apple Family made it back home. Applejack was still talking about her say at school, while Applebloom was happily listening to. Well, at least trying to. They went inside the Apple Family home and Big Macintosh and Applejack set their saddle bags next to the doorway. "And that's what ah did in school today." Applejack finished up her story to Applebloom. "Well, that must've been reall fun for ya Applejack!" Granny Smith said. "It was the most fun ah ever had! Plus, ah saw mah other friends too!" "What did you do Big Macintosh? Did ya have fun?" Granny Smith turned to Big Mac "Eyup." "That's good. Now you two go wash up, dinner's almost ready." Granny Smith and Applebloom went into the kitchen. Big Macintosh and Applejack went to the bathroom and took turns washing their hooves. After that, they headed downstairs to get some dinner. They entered the kitchen to see some delicious mashed potatoes with some boiled peas and carrots, with some water. They all sat at their rightful spots at the dinner table. Except, there were only two un-filled chairs. "Now, before we eat, we need to say our prayers. Who would like to do it?" Granny Smith asked. It was silent for a moment, but Big Macintosh raised his hoof. "Okay Big Macintosh, go ahead." They held on to each others hooves and closed their eyes. Except Applebloom. *ahem* "We would like to thank for this yummy food mah Granny cooked for mah family. We are hoping it will give us energy to get up and do our work here at the farm." Big Macintosh sighed nervously. "And....ah would like to thank...mah Granny, for taking care of me, Applejack, and lil' Applebloom...after ma and pa...." Big Macintosh's eyes were started to tear up. He cleared his throat, "Celestia bless our food, amen." "Amen." Applejack and Granny Smith said after Big Macintosh. They looked back at him, and say that some tears were going down his eyes. "That was beautiful sonny." Granny Smith said to Big Macintosh. Big Mac just smiled. "Well, let's dig in." After another fantastic dinner by Granny Smith, the Apple Family decided to get some sleep. Granny Smith brought Applebloom into her room, while Applejack and Big Macintosh went to their rooms. Since the room that their mother and father slept in still had their bedding in, Big Mac and Applejack still shared rooms. "So ah heard you an' Twilight are gonna go play after school." "Eyup." "That's great Big Mac!" "Eyup." And so, they finally went to sleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// Long Lost Friends Part 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Long Lost Friends Part 3 After another day of school, the filly's and colts were on their way home. Well, except for Big Macintosh and Twilight. Big Mac ran home as fast as he could. Eventually, he arrived at Sweet Apple Acres, and headed for the house. He burst through the door, and started searching for Granny Smith. "Granny? Granny!" "In here, sonny!" Granny Smith responded. Big Mac went into the kitchen and saw she was sitting at the table. "Granny! Granny Granny Granny!" Big Mac said multiple times. "Easy there Big Mac, what's all the commotion?" "Some nice unicorn filly asked me if she wanted to play with her!" "Oh, you made a friend, well that's great." "An', ah was wonderin', if it was okay if I can?" "Now, don't be befuddled, course you can!" "Really? Thanks Granny!" Big Macintosh gave his grandma a quick hug, then scampered off. Big Macintosh was at the location Twilight said for them to meet at. Big Macintosh couldn't see Twilight anywhere, so he decided laying under a tree and wait. As he was waiting, he was thinking on what they might do. Then he got a little worried. He had no idea what the normal ponies do together. The only thing he knew how to do was to kick a tree. Then he got really doubtful. Why would she wanna play with a loser like me? Big Mac thought to himself, Ah'm just the quiet colt who has no friends. I should just leave Big Macintosh stood back up, then started to head back to the farm. "Big Macintosh!" somepony yelled out his name. He turned around to see Twilight coming towards him. "You're here." "Eeyup." "Were you going somewhere else?" "Nope". You sure, cause it looked like you were about to leave?" "Ah'm sure." "Okay.' Twilight then set her book bag next to the tree. "So, what do ya wanna do first?" Twilight asked. Big Macintosh didn't answer. "We could play tag, we could go exploring, play pretend, study, or we can just run around in circles!" "Um..." "Huh? You never got to play with anypony have you?" He looked down, "Nope..." "Well don't worry, you got me, right?" He smiled. "Tag!" Twilight then started running. Big Mac, however, just stood there confused. Twilight turned around to see Big Mac not running with her. Then she went back over to Big Macintosh. "Um, do you know how to play tag?" He shook his head, "Nope." "You don't know how to play tag? He nodded his head "no". "Don't worry, I'll teach you how to play then." Twilight gave a hoof gesture to make Big Macintosh to come to her. "Okay, when you're "it" you have to tag me, then I'll be it." Big Mac looked confused, "What do ya mean by, "it"?" "Well, um.....It just means they're just, it." "Okay." "And, that's it! Tag! You're it!" Twilight quickly touched Big Mac then started running away. Big Mac remained still. Twilight was still running, until she looked back and saw him sitting there. "Hey! You're supposed to try and catch me!" Big Mac shrugged and started chasing her. Twilight saw him catching up and started running herself. Both of them were going as fast as they could. Twilight turned her head and saw Big Mac in the air, his arms extended, and he tackled her. With Big Mac's weight, they both hit the ground, hard. Big Mac smiled with confidence and said proudly, "You're it!" then started running away. However, when he looked back, he saw Twilight sitting on the ground. Big Mac went back to her, and as he got closer, he could hear crying. "Uh oh." Big Mac then sprinted to her, hoping she wasn't hurt. But, she was. Big Mac saw Twilight holding her elbow, and seeing tears running down her face. "Are ya hurt?" Big Mac quickly asked. Twilight didn't respond, instead, she kept holding her elbow and continued crying. Big Mac got a closer look at her elbow, and saw it was scraped a little. "Ah'm.....ah'm so....so sorry." Big Mac said in a very saddened voice. Then, he started crying himself. Twilight looked confused *sniff* "Why are you crying?" "Ah don't like hurting other ponies...." "Why?" "Mah little sister, Applejack." Big Mac said calmy, but with tears still in his eyes, "There was this one time, when ah was kicking a tree, an apple fell down and hit her, right on her head. When she was crying.....ah just...." Twilight could see how sad he was over him hurting somepony else. So, she tried cheering him up. "Well, it isn't that bad. I'll be okay" *sniff* "Ya sure?" "Yes I'm sure. But I gotta admit, that was a pretty cool dive you did." Big Mac smiled, "Well, thanks. I learned that from mah Pa and Ma when we had to heard our pigs." "Cool! Wait, that older pony that you went with school with, she seems a little old to be your mom." "Heh, that wasn't my mom. That was my granny." "Oh. Then were's your mom and dad?" Big Macintosh frowned immediately, then pointed up. "Oh. What happened?" "Ah...ah don't wanna talk about." "Oh, okay." They sat there in a brief silence. "So, wanna try tag again?" Twilight asked. "Well, I dunno," Big Mac said in a concerned voice, "ah don't wanna hurt you again." "Don't worry, all you have to do is tag me. Like this." Twilight went up to him and gently touched him with her hoove. "Oh, alright......Tag! You're it!" Big Mac tagged her back, then started running. "Hey!" Twilight then ran after him. Man, never thought you'd hear from me again now, did you? I apologize for being away for these last few months. I had to get a job, school work, all that stuff. Also, sorry for the short chapter. I was trying to make this a playful chapter, and this was all I could get.
