The soft tapping noises echoed through the empty halls. She stopped to look at something on the shelf. It was the very first picture of her and her friends. She missed them so much. "I wish they were still here" She sighed as a single tear ran down her cheek and off her face. She flopped onto her bed and stretched out her big wings. "Hello?" A voice called from behind the locked door. "Twilight? Are you in there" ?" It called again. Twilight recognized the voice. It was Sunset Shimmer. Twilight lifted the key off of her bedside cabinet with her magic and unlocked the door. Sunset opened it and trotted in. "Twilight. I need to tell you somethi-  what's wrong?" She said. "Oh. Ahh.. Nothing! Nothing's wrong." Replied Twilight as she quickly wiped her face to extinguish any evidence of her sadness. "Are you sure?" Sunset didn't believe her. "Yes! Of course I'm sure!" Twilight exclaimed. "What did you want to tell me?" She asked. "Oh.. It's not important now." Sunset mumbled. "Okay..."  Twilight replied. Sunset trotted towards the doorway, she stopped and looked back at the other princess who was now reading a rather large book. She closed the door behind her as quietly as she could, but it still made a slight creaking noise that echoed in the silence of the castle. Twilight was left to read her book in peace. After reading her book for over 3 hours, she felt drowsy, and started to drift off to sleep. Her head flopped onto her pillow and her half-open book fell onto the cold stone floor. The purple mare opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry. It was still night, she was still in her bed, but something was different. She got up and looked around her room. Then she saw it. The picture of her friends was gone. It was nowhere in sight. Twilight decided to see if sunset had taken it somewhere. As she trotted down the hallway, she heard laughter coming from the dining room. It sounded familiar. She suddenly recognised it and started galloping towards the other end of the hall. Her hooves made loud tapping noises as they collided with the glossy stone. She pushed the giant doors open and then she saw them. Her friends. All sitting at the round crystal table with a cake in the centre. Party decorations were lighting up the room with bursting colour that Twilight hadn't seen in a long time. Suddenly Pinkie pie jumped I front of her. "Twilight! You're here!! Yay! Now we can start the party!" She exclaimed with her enthusiastic voice, hurting Twilight's ears a bit, since she hadn't heard that kind of noise since her friends died. Then it hit her. "Wait..." She thought. "This isn't possible... I tried all the spells, nothing worked. How are they here no-" "Twilight?? Helooooo. Anypony in there?" Pinkie's voice interrupted her thoughts. "Y-yeah. I'm here" Twi replied. "Great! Then let's get this party started!!" The excited Pink party pony squealed. Twilight joined in on the festivites and had more fun than she had ever had in over a thousand years. When every pony stopped playing the games and doing activites, they sat down at the table. The 5 Ponies started singing. "Happy happy birthday! Happy happy birthday! Twilight! Twilight! You're turning 10,000 today! 10,000 today! Happy happy birthday!!!" When they finished, they all cheered and said happy birthday to Twilight. "WAIT 10,000?!!" Twilight yelled. "Yes, Twilight, I know it's old but you can learn to live with it." Rarity said. "For example. I've learnt to live with being 3,047, so you should be able to do so with being 10,000." Twilight got up off of her chair and stumbled backwards. She felt extremely dizzy. "I-I think I''m going to throw up" She stuttered as she started to back towards the door. Her horn lit up and she teleported to the bathroom. Just as she was about to throw up, her eyes opened. "W-w-what just happened?!" She had woken up in a cold sweat from the dream she had just endured. "I-I thought... No! That could never happen!! How could I have been so foolish to think they could be alive?! It's silly of me to even think about ever seeing them again!!" She put her face in her hooves and started to sob. She got no sleep for the whole rest of the week. She thought about that terrible dream every night before she slept, and every morning when she woke up.
