At The End Of The Rainbow
Chapter 1 ♥ The Mouse in the House
"Maybe we can do a bake sale at the school lunch room to help out the shop?"
"Pinkie, we have enough on our hands." Pinkie kicked her feet while she sat on the counter and played with her long, hot pink curls. Her icy blue eyes searched over the cake her adoptive father had made and she smiled brightly with her normal happy gleam in her eyes.
"The wedding cake is pretty, Daddy-"
"Pinkie. Give me five minutes to not have to hear a peep out of you." She nodded a bit and put her head down, still kicking her feet.
"Sorry." She fiddled with her pale skin and sighed a bit, focusing in on something black and small. It couldn't be what she thought it was... "Daddy, there's a mouse on the floor!"
"Pinkie Pie, hush!" The man's head snapped back to her angrily and Pinkie stood up loudly on the counter, grabbing a cup from the cupboard. She dove on the floor with the cup. Her legs flailed about and she stuck the cup over the small creature that stared up at her sadly. Her eyes locked in on its beady ones and she continued to stare at it with a hint of awe. It had emotion. "Pinkie, go play with your friends, you're too loud to be here during the summer." The mouse felt what had suddenly hit her heart and made her throat clench up. All he wanted was for someone to listen to him. He wanted to be free and loved. He wanted a friend that would love him and get past his pest ways and he would love them. "Pinkie. Go. Now."
"Yes sir." Her thin hands carefully picked up the cup with the mouse inside and she watched him sniff around the rim silently. His tiny nose twitched as a thank you and she felt a chill up her spine. She stopped in her tracks and shuttered a bit, feeling a lock of hair unravel into a long, pink strip that fell over her shoulder.
"What's the hold up? Maybe I'll just ground you now so that you'll be locked up in your room and you'll have no friends. How does that sound young lady?" The chill came again. Her skin felt cold and another lock unraveled. Pinkie stared back at him in sadness and walked out of the house, slamming the door behind her.
"I'm sorry little mouse." She pat its head and continued to go on her way. Her mouth formed a smile at other people, but something felt out of order. Her chest thumped loudly and it stung in the weirdest way, but the girl continued to say hello to everyone happily with a smile on her beautiful face and a skip in her step. Pinkie crouched down and let the mouse hop out of the cup and it squeaked gently before she gave it a grin and walked away.
"Pinkie Pie, how could you do something like that to us?"
The jolt came again. Not a lock of hair went straight, though. The world flashed grey, then back to normal. She stumbled backwards and grabbed onto a street post. She looked back at the shop and took in deep, heavy breaths while everyone in town stared at her. Then she fell cold.
Cheese Sandwich stared at the pink haired girl. Everyone else crowded around her as well. "Who's she?"
"Pinkie Pie. If you don't know her, you must be new, am I right?"
"Yeah," he told the worried citizen, pursing his bottom lip a bit. He didn't know her. He couldn't help her. Cheese got back up on his bike and watched a couple, consisting of a tall thin man and a short, overweight woman, rushing to her.
"Where's my daughter," the woman yelled worriedly and Cheese got the glimpse of a beautiful, tall girl with even paler skin than the pink haired girl's skin running towards her, with her straight, simple, purple hair falling in her eyes as she ran and her knit, purple tunic flowing on her legs while her tall, knee length, black leather boots clicked on the pavement. "Maud, tell me where she is!"
Cheese jumped off of his bike and threw it to the side when he saw how worried her family was, then he stared at the girl. By instinct he scooped her up in his tan arms and he rushed to the family with her in his thin, slightly muscly arms. As he ran towards the family, his brown, curly hair fell in his face and his emerald eyes gleamed with fear. The lady yelled at her husband. Her husband took the girl in his arms gratefully. The pink haired girl looked to him and blinked her beautiful blue eyes.
But, when he tried to walk away, she grabbed his wrist and pulled him along. "What's your name," she asked in a monotonous, smooth voice and he stared down at her thin stature.
"Cheese Sandwich-"
"Well you aren't getting away so fast," the girl in the tunic snapped. "What did you see?"
"She just fell, I don't know, really."
"You best be figuring it out or I'll throw my rock at your face."
"Well, aren't you just kind." He rolled his eyes a bit and looked up at the beautiful pink haired girl. She only had straight locks. She didn't just simply lose her balance and faint. The poor thing was losing her happiness.
