//-------------------------------------------------------// Time Turner: Your not so average Pony -by Tripy998- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Who am I? //-------------------------------------------------------// Who am I? In front of my door, left lying there on the crystal floor, was the object that I had been staring at for the past few minutes. It was a simple hardcover, hoof made book (It appeared to have been made by the person who left it there, as it did not look professionally, or neatly bound.), that was green in color. But that was not the reason I was in shock. I used to live in a library, and hay, was even recognized as the official Ponyville Librarian. I was supposed to love receiving books.  But no, the reason I was in shock, was because of the content and author. The book was titled in golden Calligraphy, “Time Turner: Your not so average Pony.” and right underneath it, in silver Calligraphy was the subtitle, “The Biography of Time Turner. It shall never be complete.” But that was only the beginning of my shock. As I looked downward, I saw something that confused me to no end. Right at the bottom of the book, centered on the cover, with exactly 12 point letters, (Yes, I have a standard for sizing written text.) was the text: “Written by: Twilight Sparkle.” It was also written in the Calligraphic style, using purple ink that upon a magic inspection, was confirmed to be the kind I make, use, and sign official documents with. Grabbing the book in my magic, I finally trotted into my royal chambers. They were spacious enough for a rich noble to be proud, yet, empty enough to make me look poor. It’s not that I could not afford any furniture to put in here. I could most likely buy all of Canterlot’s furniture thrice over, and then some more! No, the real reason it was empty, was because I had no use for that furniture. The only real furniture I needed was, a single bed, a nightstand, a closet, and a writing desk. I slowly trot up to the farmost side of the room, and lay the book on my writing desk to open it, and begin reading. Hello there! I am Time Turner! For you to be reading this Biography, it must mean that I am dead, and have trusted it with you. But, alas, as you can probably tell, just by looking at the rest of the pages in here, that this is but an empty book. The reason for that being is because I plan on having it written for me. You see, who better to write one for me, than Ponyville’s resident librarian!? Now do not worry, just because I am dead does not mean that you will have no way of receiving the information necessary to write about me. In fact, if my timing is correct the time should be 4:05am and you just returned from the kitchen. A quick glance to the clock on the wall confirmed that is was indeed 4:05am and I had just returned from the kitchen. Infact, I should be knocking on your door, right……. now. Four sharp but gentle knocks, not too loud, and all timed with exactly 500 milliseconds in between made it a polite knock on the door. Opening it, I found Ponyville’s resident clockmaker, repair man, and lunatic, Time Turner. Alive. In flesh, smiling a toothy grin at my jaw dropped expression. “Did I time it right?” he asked me with a smug satisfaction in his tone. “y-Yes you did! But... how did you do th-” “I am a Timelord from the planet Gallifrey. Stellar Coordinates are 85, -487, 1328. I can travel through time at will through a vehicle called the ‘T.A.R.D.I.S.’ Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. Using my TARDIS I was able to time it perfectly. Any questions?” I stared at him with my mouth wide open, not believing what I just heard. With a shake of my head, I asked him the most important question I could think of at the time. “Wanna get some coffee? It’s been a long night.” <~=O=~> After having fetched two cups of coffee from my stash of the strongest coffee known to ponykind (Which is banned in all of Equestria), I sat down with Time Turner and he explained the details to me. “Timelords are a species similar to ‘Humans’, and have been exposed to the Time vortex. Because of their Exposure to the Time Vortex, they were given a so called ‘Regeneration Cycle’ that allows them to ‘regenerate’ and essentially cheat death. Recently I regenerated into a pony, and discovered Equestria. After some thought, I decided that when I regenerate again, I will send you that book. Unfortunately that happened earlier today.” I looked at him with a confused gaze. “What killed you?” He sighed before looking away in embarrassment. “I tripped down the stairs….” he mumbled. I broke out into laughter. He just blushed and snapped at me. “Yeah, yeah, shut up! At least I did not get stuck in the toilet or anything!” Even though I had calmed a bit, I was still struggling to hold back my giggles. “But that brings us back to now. The reason I want this biography written, is because I am technically the last of my kind. I want there to be notes and accounts of my accomplishments incase something were to happen to me, then someone else would be able to continue my work of protecting this universe.” I looked at him and asked, “What happened to your people?” He processed the question for a second, then took on a downcast look. His ears splayed back against his head, and his smile turned into a deep frown. Where as you could feel happiness and livelihood radiating from him, now he was like a black hole, sucking all happiness in the room into it, and not letting go. “I’d rather not get into too much…. detail. To put it simply, a war happened and my people were destroyed. I traveled back and figured out a way to stop them from being obliterated and was able to move the entire planet into an alternate universe. Unfortunately for me, locating that universe so far, has proven to be a very difficult task.” I suddenly understood why he was downcast and felt some pity for him. As I looked up to apologize for bringing it up with him, he suddenly perked up, his ears standing tall and proud, his grin returning to his face, and his radiating joy and livelihood returned. “Anywho~” he sang, his voice full of more joy and excitement than she had ever seen in even a foal. “I feel that the time for us to get going has come!” he said clapping his hooves together. “But, what about my assistant Spike?” I asked. “My duties as a princess, and my friends! I cannot just abandon them and run off, writing a timelord’s biography!” In return, Time Turner just looked at me with a smile that told me he knew something I didn’t. “Did I forget to mention that the TARDIS can not only travel through space, but, time as well?” he said with a look that told me he had said this to other ponies, or beings before. “I-I-I….should have expected that.” I said, getting up and following him. We exited the crystal castle and right outside was an old blue police box. The so called ‘Police’ of the Engleigsh ponies, had blue boxes like these set up all across their country. When the Police found somepony committing a crime, after hours, they would simply lock them up in the box until sunrise, when they could retrieve them and bring them into the dungeons. “This is my TARDIS!” he said nuzzling the box. I looked at him with a slightly annoyed look. “Is this some kind of joke?” I asked, sounding more than a little annoyed. Did he really keep me awake through the entire night, (The sun was just now rising in the horizon.) to pull off an elaborate prank? He looked at me, I assume to judge how mad I was, before he opened the door and stepped inside. But he did not step into a small enclosed space. He stepped into a dome that appeared to be three times bigger than the outside of the box. My jaw fell to the ground, almost literally if my jaw muscles did not hold it up. “It’s smaller on the outside!” I exclaimed. He looked at me and chuckled. “Most peopl-ponies.. say that it’s bigger on the inside, but either way works.” I was in awe. Slowly, I trotted up to the door, and stuck my hoof through to see if what I was seeing was real. But as soon as I stuck my hoof through, I felt a surge of magic. “It’s a pocket universe.” I stated simply. “It’s a small, artificially created universe, contained in a bigger, naturally created universe. You never actually move. You just enter, and decide where, or when you want to exit.” “And that is where you are wrong my dear Twilight Sparkle.” As he said that, I felt pain. I had never been told I was wrong, and I never was. “One would think that the pocket universe, that the TARDIS lives in, would be part of a greater whole, but instead, it can move freely between universes, and dimensions!” he said with a grin on his face that said that he was still proud of me. And that drove me to step inside. I could feel myself, being separated from the universe in which I lived most of my life, and stepping into the pocket universe. The experience was not unlike stepping into the crystal mirror and entering the Human Equestria. As I finally finished stepping inside, I looked around. From where I was in the TARDIS I could see what could only be a control panel, arranged around a circular tube with pistons in it, which was located in the center of the room. The platform we were standing on was above the bottom of the dome, where more circuitry and wires could be seen, dangling loosely. The room was a soft orange dome with little circular devices placed in a dotted pattern all too similar to a golf ball. I could see many hallways around the room, that presumably led to more places within the TARDIS. As I took this all in, Time Turner looked at me with a smile. “By the way, call me The Doctor. It’s quicker to say, and rolls of the tongue better.” I looked at him, and smiled warmly. “Alright, Doctor… where to?” He looked at me before galloping up to the control board and flicking a few switches with his hooves. “How about, we start small, and I show you the Faust Nebula up close?” he asked as if it was the most casual thing in the world. “You can do that!?” I yelled in awe. “Sure can!” with a few more flicks of switches, he put his hoof on a lever and looked at me expectantly. When I gave him a nod, he slammed the lever down. “GERONIMO!” he yelled happily. And at that moment, I had a feeling that no matter where he took me, as long as I was with him, I could not be happier.
