*Beep* *Beep* *Beep* *Smash* went Rainbow's alarm clock as it turned 7 o'clock am. "Oh no", the rainbow maned filly exclaimed.
"Rainbow dash! Be more careful! That's the 9th clock this month!" came a shout from downstairs
"Sorry mum" came the reply. But, something seemed off that day. IT WAS THE FIRST DAY OF HER NEW SCHOOL!
*Beep* *Beep* *Beep* *Boop* went Fluttershy's alarm clock as it turned 7 o'clock am "ahhh, morning", the pink maned filly sighed.
"Breakfast's ready!" came a soft voice from downstairs
"Coming" came the softer reply. But, she got a funny feeling in her stomach as if that day was special.
As if by magic, the two fillies went downstairs at the same time. But in different houses. They both ate their toast, went outside and started jogging. They turned the corner and *Crash* Fluttershy had turned left and Rainbow, right. They both fell. Rainbow got up first and dashed over to the strange, yellow coated filly. "Are you okay?" she almost screamed. The other filly looked up. Then time froze, everything slowed down, bells were ringing in each pony's head. "Y-y-yes, I-I-I'm so sorry, um..."
"Rainbow Dash", the cyan coated pony said, "I'm Rainbow Dash"
"F-Fluttershy"
They sat there for a few seconds, not knowing what to do until Rainbow helped Fluttershy up. "What school do you go to?" Rainbow Dash inquired
"Flight school, over there", Flutters said while pointing a hoof to the giant cloud building at the end of the road. There was another silence. "We had better go", they said together and they dashed off.
When they got to school they found out that they were in the same class. However, Fluttershy was way older than Rainbow. This really confused Rainbow. But as soon as they got to class, Rainbow realised why Flutters was in the same class. This was the bottom class of the school, where all of the younger students learnt and Fluttershy, though old, was a weak flier and therefore, she had to stay in the bottom class.
This, however, was a major relief to Rainbow because it was obvious that newcomers weren't welcome when glares and stairs came her way. But, suddenly, it came clear that it wasn't her being a newcomer that was strange, it was her rainbow mane. She had never thought about it before but now the thought came to her that she was the only person that she had ever seen with more than three colours on her hair!
