Sour Sweet and the Fake Dog
It was early in the morning, still dark out as Sour Sweet parked her car and got out with three cups of coffee to finish a science project due later that day.
"Can't wait to finish this project and move on." She sighed and got out of her car and went towards the side entrance since the main entrance was closed.
When she walked up some concrete steps that looked like it needed work done on it, she spotted a figure that looked like a raging dog, she freaked out almost falling down but she managed to save it.
“WHAT IS THAT?!?” She ran inside to meet up with Sunny Flare and Lemon Zest on her project.
“Sup Sour Sweet, you looked like you just saw a ghost dude.” Lemon Zest noticed her facial expression.
“Yeah, is everything alright?” Sunny asked.
“Yes, mhmm, no problem at all! Unless you saw a vicious wild animal in the middle of the night!” Sour Sweet went off.
“Wait, wild animal?” Lemon asked.
“Around Crystal Prep?” Sunny asked as well.
“Yeah it looked like a vicious dog that was about to attack me!” Sour Sweet explained.
“Hmmm, I heard something about that yesterday.” Lemon thought.
“I’m going to see real quick what this fuss is all about.” Sunny Flare walked outside and saw it. She jumped but then took another look. She saw a stick and threw it at the dog. It didn’t move a muscle.
“Wait a minute…” She waved her hand at it, not even blinking. She walked up to it slowly and touched it. Nothing.
“It’s a fake…” Sunny face-palmed but then started to laugh. “Oh whoever did this Sour Sweet will be so embarrassed to hear this.” She walked back in.
“A FAKE??” Sour Sweet exclaimed.
Later that day after school the Shadow 5 were all in a classroom, hanging out when Sunny Flare told them about it. But Sour Sweet changed the subject talking about her project.
“So how we designed it was based on the dependent and independent solutions-”
“Here ya go!” Indigo mocked laughing.
“Yeah so-”
“Here I got my project design based of a-..” Indigo cracked up.
“You know Indigo if you wanna be come in early in the morning to work on a GOOD project you can always come in and help.” Sour Sweet said in a serious, sarcastic way. She was trying to tease Indigo because she got an A while Indigo and Sugarcoat got a B+.
Lemon laughed, “I can’t say anything to why she’s so mad!”
“Yeah, umm-” Sour Sweet was cut off by Lemon’s uncontrollable laughter.
Sugarcoat raised an eyebrow, “What did I miss?”
“Did uhh, did you come in the other way?” Sour quickly replied.
“Oh the side steps?” Indigo asked.
“Yeah.” Sour Sweet sighed.
Sugarcoat remembered Sunny’s text about the fake dog, “Oh! Did you get the bejeezus scared out of you?”
All four broke out into laughter.
“The dog.” Sunny Flare finally spoke.
“I’m gonna find out who put that there….and I’m gonna beat ‘em.” Sour Sweet growled.
“You know how things get thrown at you dearie.” Sunny replied, trying to calm her.
“I must say it threw me off too, I have to admit.” Sugarcoat bluntly said.
“I have to say I peed a little bit when I saw it, because I didn’t see it when I first came in neither did Sunny.” Lemon explained.
“So, here’s what happened. I was walking up a dangerous flight of steps.” Sour Sweet started as the others were laughing.
“Oh my god!” Indigo laughed.
“With three very large cups of coffee…”
“Yeah a couple cups of coffee, a beach ball, a dozen doughnuts and an umbrella. And she’s walking casually along the side steps!” Indigo teased.
Sour Sweet groaned and facepalmed, “It’s pitch black…”
“PITCH BLACK LEMON! THERE WAS A WIND!” Indigo blurted laughing.
“Yeah, I can’t see the building the front doors were locked.” Lemon chuckled.
“It’s really cold out…”
“Man is it ever.” Lemon agreed with Sour Sweet.
“I knew you wouldn’t be so excited with temperatures falling.” Sugarcoat smirked.
“And the quarter of my eye I catch a wild animal-” Sour Sweet chuckled.
“IT’S A WILD ANIMAL!” Indigo and the others laughed.
“That was about to attack me. I almost fell on the concrete steps almost breaking my arm.” Sour Sweet said.
“It was a plastered dog…” Sugarcoat raised her eyebrow.
“How the hay did it get there?!” Sour Sweet asked as the others were laughing.
“Yeah what was the name on it, Nipper, Chipper?” Indigo asked.
“Nipper.” Sunny replied.
“Lurking in the shadows!”
“Yeah, lurking in the shadows!” Indigo teased Sour Sweet and cracked up.
“Nipper, head cocked ready to attack!” Lemon laughed.
“Did you jump?” Sour Sweet asked.
“I didn’t jump but I went, ooh what was that?” Sugarcoat explained.
“Well I almost fell over…” Sour Sweet growled.
“Yeah Sour jumped, she actually peed herself. ” Lemon blurted.
“I did not!” Sour Sweet crossed her arms.
“You know when you have those moments when you meet up with a group of friends and you start by, ‘YOU WON’T BELIEVE!’” Indigo laughed.
“Yeah. Mhmm.” The others listened.
“Well this morning, Sour went...WHO THE HAY PUT-” Indigo couldn’t finished she was laughing like crazy.
“Well during the day it was probably a fun little prank and it would look cute right there.” Sugarcoat said.
“Yeah I agree. By the way if you want, you can take pictures of it because I’m going to take it home today. Nipper needs a good home.” Sunny announced.
“Yeah as I said, during the daytime it would be a cute little prank but at night…” Sugarcoat adjusted her glasses.
“Yeah from where I parked I didn’t see it, it was next to the concrete steps and scared the heck out of me.” Sour explained.
“I actually looked by the garbage can and there was a dog with its teeth showing.” Sunny added.
“I feel so sorry for whoever put it there.” Sugarcoat bluntly said.
“Oh it’ll be real funny when they have to get a new windshield, after I throw a big rock at it!” Sour Sweet answered in her usual “sour then sweet format.”.
They laughed.
“Mind if I egg it?” Lemon raised her hand like she meant it, “Or maybe toilet paper!”
“They’re just trying to have fun dearie, no harm done about it.” Sunny smiled.
“Oh no wait a minute.” Lemon saw a text on her phone but didn’t catch who it was because it showed a number but not a name, “The dog is now off the stairs…”
“No where is it? I’m taking it home.” Sunny perked up.
“It’s in the building.” Lemon cracked up.
“Uh oh.” Indigo laughed, “We have to find him?”
“I didn’t want to scare Sour Sweet.” Lemon added.
“Nipper’s on the run!” Sunny announced.
“It’s outside the gym right now.” Lemon read on from the number the texts were sent from.
“Who’s texting you dearie?” Sunny asked.
“I have the number but I don’t know who it is.” Lemon looked.
“Yeah I’ll take it home and give it a good home.” Sunny said.
“After you beat it to show who’s master.” Lemon giggled.
“Yeah, I. AM. MASTER!” Indigo acted like as if she was beating it.
“Well obviously needs obedience training.” Sunny rolled her eyes.
“See I wonder if Rarity’s cat will be-” Sour wondered.
“She’ll sniff it, maybe attack it. I’ll have to ask Rarity on that one.” Sunny said.
“Here’s the deal. It was pitch black and I was occupied doing things.” Sour added on.
“You’re always up against it!” Indigo laughed.
"Yeah, yeah just because I'm best when it comes to archery-" Sour Sweet was interrupted by the opening of the door and there at the entrance was the fake dog, Nipper.
"There he is." Indigo pointed.
"Oh there's a good boy!" Lemon acted like she was talking to a dog.
"Look at him. He's so realistic!" Sunny pointed.
"Is it a guy or a girl?" Sugarcoat asked.
"I figured guy." Sour said.
"Yeah I figured that too." Sunny said.
They were talking and began to not pay attention to the dog. Someone with a hoodie had brought the dog, she carefully pushed the dog in closer and closer. Sour Sweet noticed and jumped.
"NO DON'T BRING IT IN THE ROOM!" Indigo laughed.
"Did you see that?? Aimed for the throat!" Lemon pointed.
"Grrrrrr!" She acted like a growling dog and fell over laughing.
"Wow. Just wow." Sugarcoat chuckled.
"Wait wait!" Sunny saw the hooded figure.
The figure turned.
"Who are you?" Sunny asked.
"You got me." She took off the hood to reveal it was their former classmate Twilight Sparkle.
"TWILIGHT?!?!" They were all shocked.
She scratched the back of her head, "Heh heh." She laughed awkwardly, "Sorry girls. It was actually for a psychology experiment to see how people would react to the realism of the fake dog."
"Wow Twilight. I must say it worked dude!" Lemon offered a fist bump, “I must’ve removed your name. Probably shouldn’t have.” She adjusted her contact on her phone.
"Besides after what we did to Twilight it seemed fair." Sugarcoat bluntly said.
"Yeah. Mostly it was Cinch!" Sour Sweet said. She then looked at Twilight, "Well, you had me there. Good one." She took a deep breath and smiled.
Twilight smiled.
"Wanna hang out with the others at Sugarcube Corner?" Twilight offered.
"We'd love to dearie." Sunny smiled.
"Count us in!" Indigo gave the thumbs up.
"So, wait. Lemon were you in on it?" Sour raised an eyebrow.
"Well, sorta. She just happened to text me because she saw me earlier and said, 'Hey, that dog was a fake I'll explain about it soon.'"
Sour shook her head, "Oh Lemon.."
"What dude? I thought it be funny!"
"It was." Sugarcoat adjusted her glasses again.
"Sorry if I caused too much ruckus." Twilight apologized, now feeling bad.
"Dude! You pulled, sorta like a prank!" Lemon put her arm around her.
"True. You can say, accidental." Sunny added.
"It fooled me pretty good." Sugarcoat quickly said.
"Yeah, at least mean ol' Cinch didn't see it." Indigo rolled her eyes.
"Well, I told Dean Cadence about it. She told me she wouldn't tell Cinch." Twilight explained.
Something popped in Sour Sweet's head, "Wait! I have the perfect idea!"
"What is it?" Sunny asked.
"Let's prank Cinch!"
"YES!" Indigo jumped in the air.
"Fake Dog?" Sugarcoat asked.
"Ohhhhhh yes." Sour Sweet grinned.
"I don't see why not. I think." Twilight was unsure.
"Dude you don't go to school here anymore, it's all good!" Lemon winked.
"True.........Let's do it."
The fake dog was placed where Principal Abacus Cinch usually walks out to her car. They all hid in some bushes close by, but couldn't be seen.
"Shh! Quiet, here she comes!" Indigo quieted them.
Principal Cinch opened the door and began to walk out, "Another usual day of- AHH!!!" She jumped backwards into the door when she saw the fake dog.
As Sunny Flare was recording on her phone the others were trying not to laugh.
"Get it away! Get! Shoo!!" Cinch crawled over the railing and carefully went safely to the ground and ran to her car. Then Spike popped out of Twilight's backpack and began to make 'bigger dog' barks.
Cinch ran into her car from looking back at the dog, then she quickly got in and drove off.
The others came out and broke out in laughter.
"Yo! Good one little doggy!" Lemon petted Spike.
"Totally worth it!" Spike replied.
"That made my day!" Sour Sweet laughed.
"Did you record that?" Sugarcoat looked into Sunny Flare's phone.
"Yep!"
"Nice." Sugarcoat smirked.
"Come on! Let's show the others this." Twilight said.
"Yeah! To Sugarcube Corner!" Indigo raised a fist.
"Lemme get Nipper real quick." Sunny ran over, picked up Nipper and followed the girls to Sugarcube Corner.
They all met up with the rest of the mane seven, enjoying a milkshake and laughing to the whole story of Nipper the fake dog that fooled Sour Sweet, and then came back and pranked Principal Cinch.
