Life was hard for a little filly like Luna. She would have a hard time making friends. She was an alicorn, so there was always something about her that no pony would like. The pegasus ponies hated her horn, the unicorns hated her wings, and the earth ponies would ignore her completely for beinging an "abomination of nature". Luna would try her hardest not to let anypony get to her, but there were times when she could not fight the dark emotions growing inside her. There was hope for little Luna still.

She had only wanted to play a game of tag. She had not expected them to push her into the prickly bushes that cut her wings. "Oops sorry freak!" A filly called behind his shoulder. The other ponies had laughed at her, but they had soon scattered when a guard charged toward them.

"Princess Luna we must get you to a healer, your wings are bleeding." Luna had barely heard him. She was trying not to cry, trying to think happier thoughts. She did not need those ponies anyway. The walk back to the castle was noisy as the guard could not stop fretting over the Princess. Luna knew he was lying, he didn't care for her at all. It was all just some big show to gain some sort of trust.

"Stop talking. The wounds on my wings are not important. Leave me be, I can get myself to the royal healer on my own." The guard soluted and scurried away. She didn't need pity from anypony. It was worse when the pity was forced. You're a fool. Luna jumped from her thoughts. "Who said that?" Luna looked around to find that she had been too lost in her own thoughts to see she had walked into the deep forest. She could see no pony nearby but the voice spoke again. It's no wonder you have no friends. You're truly pathetic, not even the animals would pity a worthless Princess like you. "Show yourself coward! If you want to insult me then say it to my face!" Luna was searching and found that not so far in the shadows stood a dark figure. The cold shining eyes on the figure shook Luna to her core. "Who are you?" her voice wavered.

A flutter of wings caught Luna's attention. She looked up to see her sister land in front of her. "Luna? I heard you shouting. Are you okay?" Luna looked over Celestia's shoulder but the figure was gone. "What happened to your wings dear sister? I shall escort you to the healer immediately." Celestia wrapped a wing around her sister and guided her away    from the shadows of the forest. Luna began to calm herself. She was okay, she was safe and warm wrapped in her sister's wing.
