Chaos is Cruicial

Twilight sat there, looking through all her friendship reports she had sent to princess Celestia, confused. Then she realized that Discord was trying to stop their friendships so the elements wouldn't work. She rushed out of her house to find her friends and to make them remember what good friends they were. She said goodbye to Spike and ran off.

{Pinkie} Pinkie Pie was trying to sleep, unable to however because of the quickly changing times. She sat up in bed thinking. ‘I don’t need those mean old ponies, they laugh at me, they think i’m too immature huh? They think to themselves, ‘oh don’t worry about hurting Pinkies feelings, she’s too peachy and childish to actually do anything’. Pinkie started to tear up,

“I don’t need those terrible ponies I called ‘friends’, Discords even a better friend than Twilight, or AppleJack, or anypony!” Then something clicked, “Maybe I should become friends with Discord, I like how he acts, messing with ponies, making wonderful chocolate rain, somepon-someone I can really get used to. Together, we could make a great pranking team, we would have so much fun!” She left her home to go find Discord with her new found purpose.

“Chaos is a wonderful thing, I can do so much without limit!” He sighed happily.

He conjured up a brick, then he turned it into lava and tossed it onto city halls garden. The plants melted and Discords threw a few seeds on the settling lava. Poison joke sprouted. Then Discord zapped them with an unknown magical force, making them dance.

”Ha ha, great dancing!” Discord told the flowers pretending to be their manager and passing out monopony money.

“Discord!” Pinkie said calling out to him. Discord turned to see Pinkie trotting towards him. Discord cracked his neck so that bone came out and turned his face to Pinkie, then cracked it back, and turned his full body to her.

“Ah hello Pinkie, come to enjoy what you're new village has to offer?” Discord said sarcastically, wanting to mess with Pinkie.

But then, ”Yes actually, I love what you've done to the place, really livens things up.”

Discord stared at her, shocked that she would ever like chaos, considering he was evil. Then he furrowed his brow,”Celestia put you up to this! It’s so like her to try to get me on her side.” Discord said.

Then Pinkie pie spoke up as in a surprised manner,”Celestia? No, why would I care about her? She put us up to taking you down instead of her doing something other than sitting on her fat cake filled ass while she sits on her throne of lies.” Pinkie said coldly. Discord was stunned, and was about to reply, when Pinkie continued, “This chaos is something I love, pranking ponies, playing games, when you think about it, we have a lot in common.” Pinkie finished her rant looking at Discord who had a shocked face. “So, what do you say? Friends?” Discord ran through all the implications and variables, trying to form a coherent sentence to respond.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw the fully colored elements of harmony moving towards him with much purpose, seeing Pinkie pie, they slowed down with a worried expression but then sped up again. “Friends.” Discord said, agreeing. Pinkie smiled. But in that exact moment, Dash held Pinkie down and Twilight shot a beam of magic into her head. Discord realized what was happening, he recognized that spell, it was something to change her mind. Discord secretly seeped a spell at Pinkie, cancelling Twilights spell. Then, Discord told pinkie something through his telekinetic spell. She then ran up and was about to hug Dash,when Pinkie slapped her on the face.

”That is what you get for laughing at me!” Then pinkie ran extremely quickly, slapping them all.”Same to the rest of you! I don’t want to see your faces again! You think i'm too bubbly and innocent so that you can’t possibly hurt my feelings, huh?! You laugh at me, ignore me because i'm quote “just being pinkie pie”, well forget all of you! Discord is a way better friend, he understands what I want, what I do is what Discord does, we are going to have a much better life without you ruining it!” Pinkie took her element of harmony and broke it in half. The other five mares looked horrified and were all crying, to have one of your friends yell at you like that, it kills you inside. Discord was watching on the edge of his seat, throwing popcorn into his mouth. He drank from a soda hat, ending up with a huge spit take.

Discord spat out chocolate milk instead of the soda he was drinking seconds ago. Twilight and the other elements ran off crying. Discord was ecstatic, but held it down. He went over and hugged her, knowing what she had just felt, he knew what betrayal was like.

‘Everything hurt, I yelled at the ponies I thought were friends, but Discord made me see how rotten they were. It was better this way, without my old friends. I asked,”Hey Discord? Can we play some games? I’m not feeling so great.” Pinkies mane was straight and she sighed right after finishing her sentence.

Discord looked to Pinkie in pity,”Come with me, and you’ll be, in a world of pure imagination. Take a look, and you'll see into your imagination.” As Discord was singing, he teleported himself and Pinkie into a huge landscape. Pinkie looked around, trying to take in the scenery. Discord continued, “We’ll begin, with a spin, traveling in the world of my creation. What we’ll see will defy, explanation!”

Pinkie Pie looked around, at the chocolate milk pond, at the gummy bear sanctuary, and finally laid her eyes on the cotton candy hanging from the ceiling in strips, stretching several feet. Laffy taffy fell from the ceiling like streamers while blown up gum littered the area, each a different color looking like balloons. Pinkie did a full body twitched and started gnawing on a gummy bear's ear, completely entranced in this wonderful world. Discord smiled, and after a few moments, Discord spoke,”Alright, that's enough for now, don’t want you getting sick. Follow me.”

They left to go, but then Pinkie hugged Discord,”Thank you.” Then she continued,”Discord has given Pinkie candy, Pinkie is free!” Discord noticed at that very moment, that Pinkie Pie was no longer grey, but a vibrant Pink. Discord worried himself thinking this meant Pinkie wanted her friends back, but pushed the thought aside because he realized that HE had turned her pink again. They teleported away. Discord and Pinkie reappeared in a small amusement park. There was a slide that went upside down, a roller coaster that went threw water, a genie with a sign next to him saying,”one free wish” and so many unnameable things. Pinkie had an inner craze that showed intensity beyond anything Discord had ever seen. She ran to a tall mountain with a portal at the bottom and jumped through it.

She reappeared at the top, where she found a sled, toboggan, skies, a small lodge. Pinkie grabbed the skies and jumped off the top and rushed down the sides. “Weeeeeeee!!!!!” Pinkie screamed. She looked down to see more snow leading up to a lake. Pinkie started to freak out and shut her eyes tightly, getting ready to accept her fate. … She opened them after noticing how she wasn't dead. She looked below her, she was now sporting skates and moving swiftly across the lake. She sighed and started to do some spins and other routines. Three Discord duplicates were cheering behind a booth, raising up signs showing tens all round. Pinkie then slowed to a stop next to Discord, who was sitting on a bench just feet from the ice. She took off her skates to sit by him. She hugged him, Discord was taken back and was surprised. He hadn't been hugged since...Discords eyes flashed for a mere second, remembering.

----Flashback:6,784 years age--

Young Discord, only 150 years old, was helping his Dad and home town fight a battle against the tribe of alicorn griffons. Discords Dad was one of the mayors advisers and, in this case, war general. Discords Dad was experienced with battles, mostly thinking tactics instead of a head on attack. During the great battle, Discords Dad, Dread, was hurt badly. Discord immediately went to the healing tent once he heard tell of his father. He saw his Dad laying there on the medical bed. There was a long gash on his side that had been emitting green and gray auroras, the healer told Discord that Dread had been hit by two different types of poisonous magic, and that a cure would not be easy to conjure up due to it being a mixture of poisons. His Dad stared at Discord with a teary eyed sad smile. His Dad hung his paw around his sons back and hugged him, crying all the while. Then his Dads paw fell, lowering Discords heart and making Discord continue crying in pained moans. A part of Discords soul slipped right out of him, and the pit remained to that day.---End of flashback----

Discord lost all self control, returning Pinkie Pies hug, crying into her shoulder while remembering his dear Dad.

------------------Canterlot palace-------------

Celestia was pacing back and forth in her throne room, worriedly waiting for Twilight and her friends to report. When Twilight opened the door, Celestia eagerly went right up to her,”Did you defeat Discord?” Then she saw how sad and heartbroken they looked, their dried tears and, in Raritys case, runny makeup. Princess Celestia was very concerned, but realizing how miserable they looked, she cautiously said,”I know its hard, but I need you to tell me everything.”

Twilight stifled a nod,”Pinkie Pie...Discord turned our elements against us by making us the opposite of what we represent. Then when we left the labyrinth, I went home and saw those letters you sent me, I found my friends, but I found Pinkie talking with Discord. Pinkie yelled at us, it was awful. Then we went to find you.”

Celestia numbly nodded her head, thinking to herself,”Do you know where Discord is now?”

Twilight spoke softly,”I've got no idea where they are. They might still be somewhere in Ponyville still.” Celestia nodded, unsure of what to do.

“Go to Ponyville and look for her, I will send out some search parties.”Twilight grimaced when Celestia said party.

“Then that is what we will do.”Twilight spoke with a wobbly voice, trying and failing to sound confident. They headed out.

---------------Discords realm------------------

Discord continued to cry on Pinkies shoulder. But then Pinkie realized Discord was not crying tears of joy, she looked up and asked,”What's wrong?”Discord opened his eyes to look into Pinkies concerned eyes.

Discord, struggling to speak, and finally said,”I haven't hugged anyone for over, over 6000 years.” He said through sniffles and tears. It probably had been more, but Discord was not very good with dates after living as long as he has.

“Then I will hug you really hard to make up for it.”That had been at least two minutes of awkward hugging, but neither seemed to mind. Afterwards Discord tucked Pinkie into bed, and told Pinkie what he had never told to anyone. Pinkie hugged him again, for a much shorter time,”That must have been terrible, well I am here for you, after all that's what friends are for.”Discord cried himself to sleep. Discord never thought that he deserved a friend, he was so lonely for so long, but for the first time in forever, he finally has a chance.

------------------------Canterlot castle-------------------

“The Grand Galloping Gala preparations are nearly finished.” The day guard spoke.

Celestia was on her thrown looking at the plans for the Gala.”Great news! Oh and tell Shining Armour's squad that they are of duty for the gala, as well as Spear Shots squad and Swift Slashes squad.”The guard nodded and left the room. Celestia still had to fix the matter with Discord, but she could not change the Gala time unless extremely necessary. It had been two days with no sign of Discord or Pinkie Pie and the guards had not found any sign of them.

Twilight and her friends came by an hour early. Twilight wanted to catch up with Celestia, while the rest of  their group went to a large guestroom for the night to set up a slumber party. The girls planned to have some manner of fun at the party, but afterwards they planned some games. Just like that the Gala begins. Celestia greets the many nobles of Canterlot, but notices at least a hundred more ponies show up. Celestia thought it was simply more ponies out of town showing up to see how wonderful the event was. Luna was by her side greeting guests along with her. The Gala was boring for the most part, but high class ponies like to talk business.

Twilight and her friends went to have their slumber party after giving up on the Gala an hour in. “How about truth or dare?” Rainbow Dash suggested.

The three other ponies nodded. “If Fluttershy came we might not play, but since she is still trying to make friends with the garden animals, I see no reason not to play.”Rarity said a little interested. Everyone else nodded in agreement.

“Rainbow, why don’t you go first?” AppleJack spoke giving her a grin. Rainbow Dash matched her grin,”AppleJack, truth or dare.”

AppleJack was a little shocked to be chosen first, but didn't really care after a second,”Dare.”She spoke confidently.

Dash pretended to think about it. “I dare you to… go up to Celestia and take her crown running away as fast as you can.”AppleJack was slack jawed. Rainbow smiled. The rest of them had mixed reactions, mostly looking on impassively.

AppleJack shook her head to clear her head,”Sure, as long as i'm not thrown in prison.” AppleJack reluctantly made her way downstairs to where Celestia was waiting to welcome more nobles. Two guards were on either side of her, looking straight at the door. She made her way down the stairs very stealthily, then took the crown and booked it to where their group was. AppleJack could hear some yelling and flapping of wings behind her. She opened the door to see a surprised group of friends.

AppleJack tossed the crown to Rainbow Dash immediately. Two guards ran in, followed swiftly by Celestia. She looked pensive, but then she looked at the one she thought took her crown,”Rainbow Dash. May I please have my crown?”

Rainbow Dash was incredibly surprised,”But sh-I didn- AppleJa-ugh! Here you go.”Dash gave it to the princess while the guards gave her annoyed looks for making them do what they were trained to do. Celestia nodded to the rest of the mares, giving Dash one last look, and they left, a guard slamming the door a bit louder than it should have been.

After a second of snickering, they went back to the game.”What the hay AppleJack?!”

AppleJack shrugged,”It was funnier than if I got in trouble.”

“Why don’t we play something else. Something less… extreme.” Twilight said.

“Boooring”! Rainbow Dash said expressing her hatred for regular games.

“The castle is pretty big, if anyone wants to explore?”Twilight asked. At their board expressions, Twilight said,”Or hide and seek?”

Some of them looked interested, until, “That would take forever, darling and I would hate to get lost, also you have a home advantage.”

Suddenly Rainbow dash lite up,”Lets raid Princess Celestias panty drawers!”

Everyone was shocked,”What?!”Twilight exclaimed horrified and surprised.

“I said we shoul-”

“I know what you said! Just that that's a little… much.” This time everyone but Twilight were getting up. "Fine, but I don't know how we're going to get past the guards."
