Braveheart is under the control of Sombra, who wants control of the Crystal Heart to wipe the Crystal Empire out of existence. But Princess Cadence, Shining Armor, and Sunset Shimmer are out to stop him. They all must battle for the fate of the Crystal Empire, and possibly Equestria.
