The Mysterious Voice. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter: One. The Mysterious Voice. Welcome to the Canterlot Preforming Arts Academy. An elite estate for protégés who show skill in Singing, Dancing, Acting, Modeling, and pretty much everything in between. The Canterlot Preforming Arts Academy only accepts those who possess some increase skill in talent. And above all, have very “Deep Pockets”. Tuition at this school isn’t cheap, so if you can’t pay, you can’t stay. For student, Rarity Crumbles, wasn’t an issue. She was the daughter of the famous, Cookie Crumbles, a world renowned ballerina star. Now married to Hando Flanks, a car sales men. Rarity doesn’t talk much about her parents, nor does she share the embarrassing fact that she’s from a “Middle Class”. But one thing you can conclude from her, was that she had a talent for dancing. She was the crown jewel of the school’s Ballet program. Everywhere she walked the students would stop to stare. And down she walked down the school’s courtyard. All the boys stopped to stare at the most beautiful girl in the ballet program. Every girl she went pass always talked about her.   “That’s her” said a girl sitting on a bench, “That’s Rarity Crumbles.”   “That’s her?” said another girl leaning beside a tree beside the girl on the bench. The girl on the bench turned to her and nodded, “Mm-Hmm! She’s the daughter of former ballet star, Cookie Crumbles” she continued. “I hear she’s a gifted dancer.” All rumors that spread throughout the school was true. Rarity was a gifted dancer. She had a set of gracefulness that only very few girls are born with. She was an agile and petite, like the perfect ballerina. Of course, the skill she showed the most promise in, was dress making. Rarity secretly also had a skill for seamstress work. She made all her own outfits, and actually dreamed of being a fashion designer. But at last, her dream was all but in fact, just a dreams. She never really knew why she stayed in the ballet program, if what she really liked doing was designing dresses. And she showed such good skill in it. She actually dreamt of studying in Baltimore, or Milan, but there was one problem. She had a fear of flying, every since that one time she was in a plane that had to crash land. Poor Rarity, stuck here in Canterlot forever. Without no way of being famous.   SMACK!   “OWW!” As Rarity was dancing away, she found herself being smacked in the back of the head with a newspaper. It was her teachers, Madam Sapphire Shores. She was not the kind of teacher who enjoys seeing her students mess up…even in the slightest.   “NO! NO! NO!” she screamed with an eye brow raised, “What was that!? Who said you could plié and then go immediately to grand battement!?” she continued, “What kind of example are you setting. You’re the daughter of the one and only Cookie Crumble. So I expect you to DO IT RIGHT!”   Out of no ware, Rarity just snapped. Out her mouth came out all of her bitter range. “Oh my god, just Shut up!” she found herself screaming all of a sudden. “Just pleas, SHUT THE HELL UP!” Sapphire Shores was shocked. What did she just say? Did she hear that right? A student telling her to shut up. Rarity continued to blurt out her frustration, regardless of what would happen to her after wards. “You teach like some kind of loan shark collecting her debt" continued Rarity, "Première position. Danser sur la musique. Vivement, vivement maintenant! Dos droit. Ugh, give me a break! ALL YOUR STUDENTS DANCE THE SAME; IT’S PATHETIC!!” Sapphire Shores said not a word. She was so shocked by her student’s words. She froze immediately in her tracks. Her left eye was twitching, and her mouth was wide open. Finally she took a deep breath in and spoke. “I see” she said crossing her arms together, “Is there anything else you wish to tell me?” she asked.   “Yes as a matter of fact yes” Rarity declared. But Sapphire Shores cut her off before she could begin.   “Save it!” she exclaimed, “We’re done for the day. And to think I had high hopes for you.” Turning her back on her, Sapphire Shores walked off and headed out the door. At that moment, Rarity found herself alone. An empty feeling slowly struck her in the chest. She knelt to the ground and rested on all fours. Sweat was running down her eyes and brow. Things were only getting worst for her. First she couldn’t fulfill her dream, and now, it looked like she was going to be kicked out of the ballet program. And after her mother kept hounding her since age 10 to follow in her footsteps. Things just weren’t looking up for her. After taking a moment to catch her breath, Rarity slowly got up and went into the locker rooms to change out of her ballet uniform. As she stripped off her leotards and unlaced her ballet shoes, she took out a small hand towel and a fresh change of clothing from her locker. She stored her sweaty clothes into her gym bag, wiped the sweat from her face with the hand towel, and got dressed. After getting changed, Rarity walked of the locker rooms and exited the dance studio. Furious, Rarity walked down the hallway thinking to herself: “Perfect" Rarity blurted to herself, "Out of all the things that could’ve happened to me, why this?” Rarity mumbled, walking angrily down the hallway. “So much for following in my mother’s footsteps. I guess it’s for the best. Dancing isn’t really my strength anyway. God, I hate this place! I never really wanted to study dancing anyway. I care about other passions.” As Rarity walked down hallway, she began to hear music playing in the background as she passed by. She slowly stopped in her tracks. She stopped and listened to the tune. "Uh? Spilled Perfume?" Rarity whispered to herself, "A Pam Tillis song, and the karaoke version" she continued, "Oh gimme a break!" As she continued walking down the hall, she heard a beautiful voice begin to sing. It was unlike anything she had ever heard before. She quickly stopped in her tracks, and slowly turned around.   "Wait a minute?" she said, "That...That voice. It's beautiful." Rarity, was impressed. She slowly began looked around the hall. "Uh, it seems to coming from that room" she declared. Room 121. Whoever was in there was singing beautifully. Rarity had to know who the person behind the voice was. She slowly walked up to the door, and slowly placed her hand on the nob, but just as she was about to open it, she heard another voice behind her. It was a male voice, with a deep northern accent.   "Rarity" said the man.   Rarity slowly turned around. It was her ex-boyfriend, Blueblood.   "Rarity, is it true that Madam Sapphire Shores kicked you out of the ballet program?" he asked. Rarity was surprised. She hasn't seen her ex in a long time. He was quite the looker, long well-kept blonde hair, big blue eyes, and a masculine face. Really his looks were the only good thing about him. His horrible personality drove everyone away. Everyone except for the people who liked his money, that is. Dating him was such a low period in Rarity's time at the school.   "Why no (yes?)! I left of my own ideal." Rarity flipped her hair over her shoulder. "You know Blueblood, it’s extremely impolite to ask a lady about her personal affairs!"   "Mm-Hmm." replied Blue Blood with a sly tone. 3 Hours later. Rarity and Blue Blood are hanging out at the local bar downtown. Blueblood is trying to convince Rarity to apologize to Ms. Shores and return to the Ballet Program but Rarity refuses to do so.   "Rarity, just apologize." started Blueblood, "I'm sure Ms. Shores will let you back if you admit you were wrong." Rarity clicked her teeth and slowly took a sip from her champagne glass. "Forget it" she uttered, "I'm glad I'm getting kicked out." She said stirring her glass. "Besides, I never wanted to become a Ballerina anyway." Rarity slowly took another sip from her glass. Prince Blue Blood shook his head.   "Here we go again with this pointless Fashionista dream of yours." he grunted.   "It's not a dream. It's my Destiny!" Rarity replied, leaning over towards him with an angry face. "Every since I was a little filly, I dreamt of creating the most beautiful gowns" Rarity continued. "Every since I've seen the world of renowned fashion icons like Hoity Toity, and Prim Hemline. It has always been my dream."   "Then go study abroad!" Blueblood uttered out with an annoyed tone in his voice. "Oh that's right, your afraid of flying, how pathetic." The blonde brat smirked as he took a sip from his glass.   "YOU'VE NEVER BEEN ON A PLANE THAT CASH LANDED BEFORE!" Rarity shouted with anger, getting up from her chair and slamming the counter with her hands.   "Big deal!" replied Blueblood, "Take a boat!"   "Boats are no different" replied Rarity. "The ocean is like space. A dark void of no oxygen where no one can hear you scream."   "Uh? Don't tell me, you almost drowned once too?" asked Blueblood.   "Maybe." replied the purple haired beauty with as she flipped her hair back and took another sip from her class. "What about you're aunt's company?" asked Rarity, "I hear she's looking for you seamstresses? Think she'll hire me?" Rarity slowly turned to Blueblood and held his hand. Blueblood slowly turned to Rarity and saw her hand slowly stroking his. At first the blonde man began to blush, but suddenly realized who she was. He quickly flicked his wrist and raised his hand, moving Rarity's away. Rarity was stunned. This was the first time she saw Blueblood do something like that.   "Nock it off." she demanded, "You know you and I aren't involved that way anymore, right? Besides, Why would my aunt hire, you especially after that stunt you pulled at her Company Gala last month!" Lifting his head high, Blueblood got up from his chair and walked off. As he out, Rarity grabbed the sleeve of shirt. Turning back, Blueblood saw the young beauty pulling him back to her location. "Wait!" said Rarity, "Don't go. Stay with me." Blueblood stared at her for a moment, then finally freed himself from Rarity's grip.   "Unhand me!" me demanded. "Go home, Rarity! Your Drunk!" he exclaimed. "Beside, I don't date looser!" Without another word, Blueblood turned around and left the bar, leaving her half drunk ex alone. Rarity stared at her ex as he walked towards the door and left. Rarity once again found herself alone. It seemed no matter where she was and with whom, loneliness always seemed to drop by. Poor Rarity. First being kicked out, and now being left behind by her ex. 9 o'clock soon rolled around, and Rarity was still at the bar drinking away the pain of today. After 4 glasses of champagne, and a bottle of Smirnoff, the bartender decided it was best to send Rarity home. Or at least he tried to. After a drunken argument, The bartender dragged Rarity out to the front door. "Go home ma'am. Get some sleep!" he demanded, as she shut the door behind him. Rarity slowly got up and angrily stomped away and tried make her home. On foot.   "FINE!" Rarity shouted drunkenly, "I DON'T NEED YOU!" She walked off mumbling angrily to herself, slowly trying to keep her balance. The moon was high in the sky, and the streets of Canterlot were quiet. Elsewhere in Canterlot, there laid a certain little shop, located in the south district. That was the Appleloosa Café. Famous for its apple themed treats and drinks. The shop was nearing closing time, and the shopkeeper was getting to lock up shot. The shopkeeper flipped the close sign, turned out the lights, walked out the door and locked it. She then put on her coat and made way home. As the shopkeeper walked down the streets, she noticed a purple haired girl laying face down on the sidewalk, near the entrance to her café. The girl looked unconscious. She walked up to her and tapped her on the arm but, she did not respond. She turned her right side up to see her face. The purple haired girl was non other than Rarity. Looks like she drank too much. The shopkeeper looked around to see if anyone was nearby, but no one was around to help. So the shopkeeper girl decided to carry Rarity to her house, where she'll be safe... It was pitch black. Rarity was still unconscious from her drinking binge. The shopkeeper from earlier had brought her home, and was looking after her. Rarity was laying down on a bed while the stranger placed a damped wash cloth, and placed it on her forehead. She then kneeled down next to her, and began to slowly stroke the top of her hair. The woman smiled slowly. She leaned in closer, and began humming a tune in her ear. Rarity slowly cringed as she felt a slight tickle in her ear, closing her eyes tighter. But soon found herself relaxed. She began to hear the tune in her head. She immediately recognized it. It was that song that she heard earlier at school. And the voice was the same. That beautiful singing voice she had heard. "I ain't even gonna ask you, I can read you like a book. Girl, if I ever saw one that's an; I can't believe I did that look.  You look like something that the cat drug in, so I won't kick you while you're down. Just let me tell you, friend to friend. About a block I've been around. Did you really think last night would last forever? Did you really think that guy hugged the moon? Right now you hate yourself 'cause, you know better. But there's no use crying over spilled perfume." Rarity, slowly began to open her eyes. Her visions was blurred at first. She could make out where she was. She slowly turned her head to find a shadowy figure next to her. Whoever that person was, was the one with beautiful singing voice. Rarity squinted her eyes, trying to get a better look at the person, but her visions was still a bit fuzzy. Soon enough however, her vision became clearer, and she saw who the woman was. The woman was a blonde haired girl with braided pony tail and long bangs, who wore a red ribbon near the tip of her hair. She also wore a cowgirl's hat and an orange plaited shirt. The woman was singing to her, while she stroked her hair. She slowly looked at Rarity with a smile and giggled. "Good morning, sleepy head." she said playfully. Rarity smiled slowly. She finally knew who the woman was. She was so happy she wanted to cry. Her voice was the most beautiful voice she had every heard. She was about to talk to her when she finally realized something. A- Who was she? And B- Where was she? Rarity quickly peeled her eyes open and panicked. With a petrified shriek, she hopped off the bed and landed on the floor. Looking around to view her surroundings, Rarity found herself in a horrific bedroom setting. The walls and floors were made of wood, and everywhere she looked, the place was cluttered in dirty clothing, empty cans of Pork N' Beans, soda bottles, crumbled paper, and boxes of junk. The whole placed was a breeding ground for flies and roaches. Literally, they're flies buzzing around in here.   "Are ya'll right sugarcube?" asked the blonde woman. "Don't be afraid. Ah wont hurt ya." She claimed, speaking to Rarity in a calm voice. "Ya see, ah found out cold by mah shop. So I brought ya here to rest." she continued. Rarity didn't move, nor did she answer. She was in shock. Her mouth was hung open at the sight of this stranger's bedroom. Scattered clothing, empty cans and bottles with food still on them, flies everywhere. Whoever this woman was, she was a sure stranger to spring cleaning. "OH MY GOD!" Rarity thought to herself, "HERE AM I! AND WHO IS SHE!!?" To conclude, it looks like Rarity has found herself in a pretty big predicament. Whoever this woman was, she a complete slob. And wherever she was, she had a big feeling that it wasn't Canterlot anymore. But that is another chapter, for another time...
