Fallout Equestria: Operation Suscitabo Solis
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterEquestria, a beautiful land of many color and inhabitants, a land of magic and harmony, filled with science and invention. Or at least that's at least how I remembered it used to before it became the wasteland we’re all familiar so with. Our once peaceful land became tainted with greed and malice, and the once peaceful world fell into a horrible war, and in the end, the world was cleansed of life in a blinding flash and wave of balefire… or so it was though, many inhabitants fled to great shelters called stables meant to protect life in the event of a mega spell attack, but some of these vaults housed dark secrets, off the book black projects, desperate attempts to end the war. Who am I? My name is Amaria Hurricane, I am one of these projects. And before you ask, yes, I am the great, great, something granddaughter of The Commander Hurricane from way back. Hard to believe it when I'm a freaking orange alicorn, but I'll get to how that happened later. Anyways, Little Pip suggested I should write my story down. After hearing hers, I figured that I would give it a shot, but where to start, I suppose that in order to make everything that I’ve done clear, I should start at the beginning, on that horrible day when the world was wiped clean, the day the bombs fell.
I was only a small filly at the time, I honestly am not even sure how old I was, but I still remember it quite well. My father was a well-off business pony who had good connections from his time in the military. Perhaps that was why he was so involved with StableTec and their preparations for if the war went bad. At the time, all I knew was that I was being 'prepared' for something special. StableTec scientists gave me various injections and tests. At the time, I was scared and don't know what was going on, little did I realize, they were preparing me for my destiny some 120 years later, but leaving all that unpleasantness behind, I really should get down to the details or this will never get finished. On the day the bombs fell, I was rushed into the experimental stable that they had trained me so many times before to go to, large yellow letters were printed out on the gear shaped steel door: X-27. StableTec Research Facility. No Unauthorized Access. The door rolled open as buzzers went off inside. I was shoved inside and the door was shut just as quickly as it had been opened. A loud screech and clang came from behind me, then all I saw was darkness.
Click. A soft greenish glow beamed down from the low ceiling. Various mechanical devices hung down from the stable entrance above me. There was nothing but silence and the low hum of the lights and distant generators. I got up slowly and shook the sand and dust off. Man was the Marehave a dirty place. I stretched my wings and then tucked them in again as I felt a slight chill run down my spine. Oh yeah, I remembered now that they said this stable didn't have heaters. Damn. I began to move down the narrow hall to the inner room. I weaved past various crates and boxes full of assorted weapons, ammo, canned and boxed foodstuffs, and a small mountain of medical supplies. Yup, cramped and cold. Just like I hated. It was pretty small in comparison to most stables you readers may be familiar with. Just two rooms and a basement. Just enough to house the essentials. Then, a low rumble shook the stable, at the time, I thought it was an earthquake, but years later I'd find out it was the impact of a Balefire bomb a few miles north. Alarms went off in the stable. An orange sign on the far wall reading, Radiation Warning, lit up on the far wall. Shit. My only salvation was the hibernation pod inside the stable, designed to put me to sleep until the world was better, but where was that damn pod? A blue light caught my eye. Whew. They actually installed it. I guess all that training wasn't wasted. I climbed in and closed the glass canopy over myself. The pod was comfortable enough, but still a bit cold. Oh well, better put the tubes on. I breathed into the mask a few times, letting the anesthetic into my system, and fell into my centuries long sleep.
