Why does life have to be so harsh to the ponies who don't deserve it? That is the question that Indigo ponders almost every day of his life. But, he never does seem to find an answer.
Our story begins as the blue stallion was racing into Ponyville, straight out of the Everfree Forest. Indigo hated that place. It was spooky, dark, and weird. Now, where was I? Oh yes, Indigo. And as the stallion dashed out of the dark trees, cloak fluttering behind him, he bumped into a blue unicorn mare. Indigo quickly dashed past her, leaving the mare curious. Soon word got around that a blue stallion in a tattered cloak was running around Ponyville. And, of course, a strange cloaked pony running around frantically usually spelled danger, so the ponyfolk were intrigued. Especially Star Drop, the mare Indigo bumped into earlier, and her 4 friends. They set out after the cloaked stranger. The stallion noticed, and began to run faster. But, soon enough, he was cornered. The 4 mares stood around Indigo, angrily. Indigo had to do something. But that something was sort of foolish.
Indigo used his most antisocial social reflex as the mares surrounded him. "Um...hey..." he stuttered. A purple and green unicorn wearing three black earrings shot a blast of orange magic at him. Indigo jumped up, shocked out of his socks (even though he wasn't wearing any). His cloak fell off. Was it just a coat? Just another life mystery that I will gloss over. So, anyway, back to the story, his coat fell off, revealing a blood red staff-like swirl for a cutiemark, a high contrast to the stallion's dark blue coat. The mare with the light blue coat and the golden triangular earring frowned. "Triple," she said, a bit annoyed, "That's no way to treat somepony, even if they might be evil." Triple sighed. "Fine. But he better watch his back." And the blue mare leaned forward towards the dark blue stallion. "I should apologize for Triple Tone's little outburst. She's a little- quick to act." Triple Tone frowned. "I am not!", the mare exclaimed. "Well, whatever." said Indigo. "Hey," said a pink coated mare, "I like him. He could be our friend." A lavender pegasi with a poorly-managed mane spoke up. "Yeah, good idea."
The 5 mares huddled up, whispering to each other. The blue one spoke up loudly. "We have come to a conclusion." she said, boldly.
"You, you-um, what's your name, anyway?" "Indigo." answered Indigo. "Well then, Indigo, you are officially our new friend!". Indigo lokked at the 5, puzzled. "Hey, don't I have a say in this?" the stallion asked. But, the group didn't hear them, seeing that they were already bringing him to the blue mare's house for friendship cookies.
