I hate frogs.
It's not because they're slimy and gross, I guess. I just find them useless in the world.
Y'know, now that I think about it, that's not the only reason.
I hate frogs because they're very aggravating. Especially when you wake up and there's one just sitting there on top of one of your hooves, looking up at you with it's tiny pupils, bulging out of its skull.
Wait... What?
"AH! WHAT THE-!" I shrieked, kicking the little horror off, and onto the floor. I watched as the frog hopped around the room, searching for an exit, but it wasn't about to leave that easy.
I grinned wickedly, slowly reaching over to retrieve the plastic cup I used to drink from the night before. And don't worry, I don't drink. ... Only once in awhile.
"DEATH WILL COME TO YOU, LITTLE DEMON FROM TARTARUS!" I cried, leaping out of my bed, and chasing after the frog, who somehow squeezed through my bedroom door.
The thing is, I didn't realize that the frog had left a trail of mud stretching from my bedroom, and into the hall, so my hooves decided to give up on me while I was in the middle of sprinting to the kitchen, causing me to topple onto the floor, and hitting my head on the cold, hard ground.
As I groaned in pain, I could hear the sound of tiny 'plops' coming from the kitchen. If I didn't catch it in the next 30 seconds, the kitchen would turn into a total, utter complete mess.
I also knew that after this experience, I wouldn't be able to stand seeing another frog EVER AGAIN. I thought frogs were at first hopeless, but now, they're really a pain in the buck.
I suddenly noticed that there was a broom resting against the bedroom door, and as soon as I saw it, I took ahold of it, and advanced to the kitchen. Nothing escapes Summer Glaze's sight. Well, other than spinach. I hate spinach.
As soon as I entered the kitchen, I began to mumble a few swears under my breath, noticing that the frog was gone. Where could it had went? I just left it in here for about, I don't know, two minutes?
Anyways, let me tell you about my terrific background as I'm hunting down this frog. Well, I'm the middle sibling out of 3. I have two sisters, Raincloud, and Starry. Starry is short for Starry Skies, which is her full name. Starry is the oldest, Rain is the youngest, although, they're both twins. I've always been the awkward one in our family, the one that just doesn't... 'fit in.' I never really understood why I wasn't Starry's twin, instead of Rain, but I guess stuff happens. I've been living in Ponyville quite a while now, I've met a few ponies, in which some of them I called my 'friend.' I wasn't really given a choice when I met Pinkie Pie. She was actually roaming around Ponyville at the time when I was hauling all my luggage to my new house. It was the first... uhm... awkward experience I had in Ponyville, but at least I talked to somepony. Starry did say I should try to make some new friends after all.
"Hello? Uhm, Excuse me, do you know where-- Oh. Okay. Sorry to bother you. Hey, uh--" I gulped, too nervous to actually talk to the ponies who were walking past me.
I was about the give up on trying to be social. But before I had the chance to, I turned around, and crashed into another pony, falling ontop of them.
"Hi!"
A deep blush spread across my face as I stood above a pink pony, with an outrageously puffy mane. The pony didn't look uncomfortable at all under the situation, and just laid there.
"I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to-"
"Hey, hey, hey, it's okay." She shushed me, before squinting her eyes. "I've never seen you before. I'm absolutely positively sure..."
"I just moved here." I explained, noticing that I was still on top of her, my blush returning. "I came from-"
"Let me guess, Manehattan?" She smiled innocently.
I arched my eyebrows, "Yes...?" I answered, hesitantly. "How did you know?"
"Just a hunch," She shrugged, rolling out from under me, Straightening her back.
"So, what are you doing here in Ponyville what's-your-name?" She asked, grinning creepily. I didn't know if I should run, or respond. I decided to respond to avoid any awkwardness.
"Just got sick of Manehattan, I guess." I lied, smiling to myself when I knew she bought it.
"No silly, Manehattan isn't a disease," She giggled, that actually made me giggle as well. "So, what's your name?"
I remembered that Starry wanted me to make new friends, so I guess this was a start.
"Summer Glaze," I replied, a small grin appearing on my face.
"Wait, your name is Summer?!" The pink pony gasped, watching my facial features for a moment, and then confirming it was true.
"I wish my name was Summer, that's amazing! I mean, when it's summer, I wouldn't tell if my friends were talking about the season, or talking to me!" She exclaimed excitedly, but then, she suddenly frowned, "But my name is boring old Pinkie Pie."
"Your name isn't boring," I protested. "It's... uh, interesting. You must've been a bundle of joy when you were a filly."
"That's true, I mean, I did teach my family how to have fun, so..." She contemplated. "Hopefully we can be great friends!"
"Hopefully," I sighed, "I have to spend the whole afternoon unpacking so, i'll be lucky if I see you again."
"Oh well." Pinkie groaned.
"OH! WAIT!" She suddenly shrieked, startling the bystanders who were trotting closer to us. "I have to help Twilight make the invitations to her birthday party! AAH!"
I gasped softly, not used to feeling such a harsh gust of wind as Pinkie disappeared in a flash. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea moving to Ponyville.
Speaking of good ideas that weren't actually good, I finally found the frog underneath the counter next to the sink, as I bent over, ready to pounce onto the frog with the broom, I guess I wasn't coordinating very well because when I jumped, I hit my head, AGAIN, against the sink.
As I fell onto the ground, I looked up, and met eyes with the devil himself. I guessed that the frog was currently thinking humorous thoughts, as it witnessed my multiple failed attempts at catching it.
Once again, I have to say, I. hate. frogs.
