Glioblastoma multiform and a failed attempt

---Chapter 2---

Doctor Check-up was already a little agitated, he should have had the medical report on Shadow Rave at-least an hour ago but their new nurse was a little tardy, scratch that REALLY tardy. The Doctor heard a noise outside his door until his door slammed open and the noise transfered into his room and a nurse with a crooked hat and a saddlebag full papers said “Sorry, sorry, sorry doctor! It won't happen again!”

You should hope it won't.” the doctor quietly exclaimed as he took the report from the nurse. His eyes scanned the medical report “New born foal born twenty fourth of yadda yadda yadda, blood type O negative. OH MY GOD!” the Doctor screamed, the report said the foal had Glioblastoma multiform. The Doctor had to get to the foals house ASAP! No time to wait for a carriage he'd have to get their immediately. The run was a kilometer, he could fly it in about fifteen minutes. What was the address! damn, damn remember! right it was 6823 Coltington road.

When the Doctor arrived the first thing he did was knock furiously on the door "ALRIGHT WE'RE COMING!" he heard a deep male voice scream causing a foal somewhere in the house to scream and cry. The door slammed open revealing Night Light "Oh, hello Doctor come right in." he said and pointed inside with his hoof. The Doctor pushed Night Light out of the way and ran towards the noise of the foal.

The doctor entered a room to find Flowing river cradling her foal with a look of stress on her face "Excuse me miss." he pulled a syringe out of his lab coat and grabbed the foals left for-leg and injected a solution into the foal "Sorry about that Mr and Mrs but i just got a medical report here saying your son had Glioblastoma multiform its a rare brain disease that affects foals and Shadow Rave was born with it, but my solution gave him a sixty, forty percent chance of surviving." Night Light twitched in anger, but the doctor didn't see that "Thanks you doctor, if we see any problems with him we'll send a letter." pulling a really convincing smile. The Doctor left thinking he had just saved a life from death, but he really just put it through something even worse.

---Three years Later---

"Clop, Clop, Clop" oh no no their coming! Shadow Rave was three years old now and could understand somethings and he understood that those noises meant he was going to be hurt. He was right the door burst open and hit Shadow Rave and he fell over and his father entered and started kicking "Daddy Please!" Shadow Rave cried, as tears poured from his eyes "Dont ever fucking call me that you piece of shit!" Night Light screamed "Mommy!" Shadow Rave called out at his mother, all she did was watch and smile "Only speak when spoken to Useless." she said. That was all they called him, Useless, he knew his name was Shadow Rave but he'd only heard them call him Shadow Rave when the doctor came around, but the last time was six months ago and he said he was moving so he couldn't check up on Shadow Rave. That was his only memory he kept in his head, his real name. The beating was ended and he was served his food. old scraps from a week before.

--- One year later---

Shadow Rave heard the noises again. This time he had a plan, when his dad opened the door he'd fly out. Shadow Rave had practiced flying in his small room, he had it down. The door was kicked open Shadow Rave ran between his legs and fly over his mom and up the stairs. Shadow saw the door, freedom. He was so close he could smell freedom, all that ended when his tail wouldn't move. NO! his father was about to do something worse than he could imagine, he knew it. Night Light threw him on the ground and sprouted a light on his horn. The horn lowered towards Shadow's head and ripped open his skin above and below his right eye. Shadow attempted to scream but found he couldn't because his father was also using a magic gag on him. When the deed was done he was once again thrown into the room. Shadow knew the wound would leave a scar, not only physically but also in his soul.

Authors note: Damn this chapter was a bitch to write. I had to make the chapter more lengthy and i'm all stuck up in my studies. I'm actually surprised i am posting this right now.

Oh, and i was kind of unsure on how to do a jamaican accent, so bare with me.

---Chapter 3---

Shadow Rave was now six years old and he decided to, once again, try his plan from two years before. Shadow heard the hoof-steps of his father and prepared to spring into action. The plan started faster than expected, as soon as the door opened Shadow ran under his father, flew over his mother and up the stairs. This time he didn't fly towards the door he flew towards a window. There was a loud crashing noise and Shadow Rave flew out the window shattering all the glass. He was free! He didn't know where he'd go, but anywhere was better than his old 'home'.

---Two weeks later---

After two weeks of nothing but flying, with small breaks, Shadow rave was beginning to feel the curtain of fatigue fall on him. His eyes took in his surroundings. The foal took a slow dive down towards a small tree. His hooves touched down and he took off his make-shift saddle bag and pulled out some dried fruit and bit into it.

---Shadow Rave POV---

My parents never gave me anything but scraps, so even though I had eaten much of the stolen fruit before, I still treated it like a delicacy. After my meal, which was two apples and an orange, I browsed a mountain off in the distance. It had some kind of a city hanging off it's side.

“Maybe I should stop there? Sure, I guess...”

With the fruit packed away in my saddle bag, I flew off to the city on the mountain. As I glided closer to the city, I could see it was much larger than Manehatten; the buildings were extremely formal and there were thousands of ponies! Somepony would have to take me in.

---2 days later---

Shadow Rave was wrong about anypony taking him in, as he had tried countless homes, each with an equal dose of rejection for him. At best, he got maybe five minutes to explain his situation. After all the houses, the snobby ponies of this town gave him a grand total of; one fresh orange and three bits worth of hay. Not enough for him to live on. After all, he thought that maybe his parents were right; maybe he was plain useless. When the the sun finally resided, He walked into an alley, and exhausted, collapsed on a plastic waste bag.

Shadow Rave was awoken by an object poking him. His eyes opened to see a large pony with both wings and a horn. Her mane was a range of aqua, violet, bright green and blue. Her fur was whiter than the brightest cloud and her cutie mark was a sun. She also had a crown and necklace "Who are you?" Shadow Rave asked, his eyes perking up. "I am Princess Celestia,” She spoke, in a soothing tone, “May I ask your name?"

Shadow's eyes drooped "I... um... I'm Useless."

"My subject, you are as useful as anypony here!"

"No, no... my parents; they named me Useless."

"That is not true! I'm sure they had a better name for you!"

"Well... when the doctor came by, they called me Shadow Rave, but thats not my real name."

"Well, now it is you true name. Come with me Shadow Rave." The foal feebly got up and trotted behind the princess. Princess Celestia had brought Shadow Rave to a large gate, the gate had two stallions in shining armour (see what i did there?) who immediately opened the gate at the sight of the princess "Princess Celestia, why did they do that?" Shadow asked looking back at the guards, "Because I am the ruler of this land, and they are my royal guards."

"Can i be a royal guard?"

"no, you have to be quite a bit older."

"Oh." Shadow mumbled, his head drooping

"But... I suppose you could live in my castle for now."

Shadow's head raised "Really?"

"Sure, why not? So long as you don't get in the way of my duties, that is. Oh that reminds me, excuse me." Princess Celestia stepped away from Shadow Rave and started a massive glow on her horn. The glow expanded into a aura, the aura kept growing until it was about the size of a fully grown mare. The princess started floating, she floated about five metres into the air before the aura split in to. One half went to the west while the other went to the east. One half of the aura brought up the moon while the other pushed down the sun. The glow subsided.

"Wow..." That was the only word that protruded from Shadow Rave's mouth. The foal had only seen spells that were meant to hurt him, never had he seen anything as spectacular as this. The Princess giggled at Shadow Rave "You like that spell don't you?" Shadow Rave nodded "Come, lets get the servants to prepare you a room." said the Princess as she walked into the palace with Shadow Rave close behind.

During the tour, Shadow rave had seen all kinds of rooms such as the throne room, the library and much more. They were now, after three hours, on the last hall way. The first few rooms were storage and broom closets, as they neared the fifth door and Shadow Rave peered inside he saw, guitars, drums, pianos, sound boards and pretty much everything you would find in a recording studio. Shadow Rave instantly ran in and started pressing buttons at random. Eventually a dubstep song came from the speakers, Shadow Rave's eyes lit up with joy "You enjoy ponystep then?" asked the princess

"That was amazing!"

"Hmm, try playing That stratacoltster." Princess Celestia pointed at a white guitar.

"Ok!" Shadow Rave picked up the guitar and strummed it with his hooves. He played some more notes before a small tune exited the guitar "Hmm... Shadow Rave, if you could keep practicing with that guitar, i'll be back in about ten minutes." The princess said before exiting the room.

Like the princess had said, she returned in almost exactly ten minutes, But this time, she had a blue pegasus at her side. He had a spiky, black and yellow mane and tail, and his cutie mark was a single spark of lightning. "Shadow Rave, this is Thunder Twister; he is the captain of the Blue Wings."

"Nice to meet cha." he said in a light Jamaican accent .

"Hello sir." Shadow Rave said backing up a little.

"Why are ya so shy? Princess Celestia said you had a talent for music, and da teams a bit short of a DJ for making a theme."

"Huh?"

Shadow Rave, he is saying he would like you to make them a theme song."

"Really?"

"I'd like tah see yo talent before I agree on anything, and on da Guitar please, I can't stand ponystep."

"Ok..." Shadow Rave balanced the guitar on his hind legs and played a few random notes into a tune."Hmm, try playing these." Thunder Twister pulled guitar notes for a song out of his saddlebag (They were the notes to Down with the sickness by Disturbed) "Thunder Twister, do you just carry notes around on you?" Princess Celestia asked "No, you said You had a talented musician, so i brought some notes to see if he could play properly," Thunder Twister said while he gave the notes to Shadow Rave, "Now then, lets hear it." Shadow Rave gulped and began to play the notes.

When Shadow Rave finished he looked up, wincing, at Thunder Twister and Princess Celestia. Thunder Twisters mouth was Open a little "Man kid, you can really play."

"Really?"

"Yup, your probably one of the best players i've met." Shadow Rave just sat in shock while Thunder Twister was whispering to Princess Celestia. Eventually they both nodded"Well, Shadow Rave it seems we have come to an agreement." Thunder Twister nodded in agreement "We've agreed that you will DJ for the Blue Wings."

"Really?"

"Yup, we have a performance next Tuesday, so that gives you six days to make a theme."

"But Tuesdays eight days away!"

"Well, i'd like to hear the theme before we play it." he said laughing

"Oh, i better get started."

"Hehe, yup."

Shadow Rave started running around the room gathering unused sheets of barlines, pencils and instruments. Princess Celestia left the room followed by Thunder Twister. Before Thunder Twister fully left the room he said, "Kid, you say really too much." and then left the room.

--- 6 days later---

Shadow Rave had thrown out twenty three attempts for a theme song he had finally decided on a song (Its pretty much Inside the fire by Disturbed without the lyrics) and Thunder Twister would arrive in about an hour, enough time for a good practice session.

When Thunder Twister arrived Shadow Rave was quite confident he could play the theme properly "Ok kid, lets hear it."

"Umm, Just so you know i put it on a recording because there are multiple instruments in it."

"Alright then, lets hear it." Shadow Rave pressed the recording button hoping Thunder Twister would like it. When it finished Thunder Twister's mouth was agape "Holy Celestia kid, that is... perfect."

"Really?"

"Ya mon, please come with me so we can set up." Thunder Twister said pointing out the door with his hoof. Shadow Rave trotted out the door following Thunder Twister. The pair exited the palace and took flight towards Cloudsdale. When they were three quarters away to their destination Thunder Twister started a conversation "So kid, you nervous?"

"About the show?"

"What else?"

"Oh, of course i am, I what if the crowd doesn't like my theme?!"

"Pshht, why wouldn't they? I thought the theme was awesome."

"I hope you're right."

"Well, enough of that, we're almost there."

"Wow... That place looks amazing."

"Its where all the famous flyers come from, grew up here myself."

"Is that why you're famous?"

"Naw, just hard work. Enough chit-chat, we're here."

Thunder Twister gave Shadow Rave a quick arial tour before heading towards a large cloud tower, where they would perform the show. When they entered the tower Thunder Twister led Shadow Rave towards a yellow pegasus setting up a spin table and speakers "Hello Wires."

The pegasus looked over "Oh hey Thunder Twister, its all set up just need to add in the theme."

"The themes all covered thanks to this little guy." pointing at Shadow Rave

"Pshht, gotta see it to believe it."

"Ok then, let me just say Shadow Rave made this whole song by him self, now pass me the record." Shadow Rave passed Thunder Twister the record. Thunder Twister put the record on the spin table and played it. Wires' mouth, over the entirety of the song, slowing kept opening and opening "He did that?"

"Well course he did."

"Wow, he's got some talent."

"Yeah, i'm actually surprised he's still a blank flank."

"Heh, me too. Alright is everything done here?"

"Now that you've brought the record, yes."

--- 2 days later ---(too many time skips)

"You nervous kid?"

"Really nervous."

"You'll do fine!"

"I hope so."

It was ten minutes before the show, Shadow Rave's anxiety was at its fullest. During the last two days of setting up Shadow Rave was able to meet the rest of the team. They all were, currently, backstage ready to fly out after Shadow Rave played the theme. Which he was about to do right now, Shadow Rave was currently positioned at his spin table, his hoof placed over the record, about to spin in Three...

Two...

One...

Shadow Rave instantly placed his hoof on the record and spinned it,playing the song. Soon after Thunder Twister flew out followed by sunset runner and soon after Lightning Roller came out. And started their air show.

The show went on for three hours, and at the end the team was completely worn out, even after some of the flyers swapped. Thunder Twister and the rest of the team trotted out to Shadow Raveto congragulate him "Thanks guys, i really liked the show." Shadow Rave exclaimed after all the team said there congratulations. Thunder Twister grabbed a mic "Hello Everypony!" announcing the crowd, followed by a cheer

"Now, i am talking to you guys too give a big cheer to our DJ Shadow Rave!" another cheer

"He made the whole theme by himself, and he's only six!" A few cheers of 'wow!' and 'really?'

"It also appears he earned his cutie mark from the show!" More cheers

Thunder Twister put down the mic and all the team trotted into the changing room leaving Shadow Rave outside while the crowd cheered for him. "Am I really being accepted now?"

"This is awesome!" causing a light to shine in Shadow Rave's eyes. He happily trotted off, overjoyed to of found acceptance.

Flight School Part 1

Shadow Rave had done shows for the Blue Wings for four years now, He was growing increasingly popular among pegasi. Whenever he went out he would be recognized by a few ponies.

Shadow Rave was heading back to the castle, as Princess Celestia had requested. Shadow Rave entered through the gates, the guards now instantly opened the gates for him. As he trotted into the throne room Princess Celestia greeted him with a soft smile "Oh, you're here already."

"I never have anything to do."

"Well hopefully this piece of information will change that."

"What would that be? If you don't mind me asking."

"Oh not at all, Since you are of age i will be sending you to flight school."

"Uh... I don't know."

"Oh, come on! You must have social skills, after all these years..."

"I guess..."

"Well, i would suggest you start packing, theres a carriage coming for you tomorrow."

"Ok." Shadow Rave replied as he trotted to his room. While Shadow Rave was in his room his eyes wandered for things to pack, there wasn't much. Finally Shadow Rave had decided to take his Stratacoltster, a portable ponystep making device and a signed picture of him and all the Blue Wings. And finally a Blue Wings poster. Word was, some new team called 'The Wonderbolts' challenged them to a flight fight.

---24 hours later---

Shadow Rave was waiting at the castle gates for the carriage. "Why do i need a carriage? I'm perfectly capable of flying there." Shadow Rave mumbled under his breath. Soon enough, the carriage arrived, and a red pegasus wearing a tuxedo opened the door for Shadow Rave as he climbed in.

The carriage ride wasn't very exciting, as all that happened was Shadow Rave dozed off on the window for two hours. Soon, Shadow Rave was in the assembly room in Cloudsdale flight school with all the other new students. With nothing to do, and nopony to talk to, Shadow Rave started trotting towards a bench. Along the way green pegasus tripped over his hoof, she let out a small "Eeep!" as she went crashing down.

Shadow Rave was about to say sorry until he heard laughing. he did a one eighty spin to see a brown pegasus, a khaki pegasus and a grey pegasus all laughing at what he did. They all walked up to Shadow Rave as the mare trotted off "Nice one bro!" the brown pegasus congratulated.

"Uh, thanks."

"The names Billy."

"Hi, I'm Shadow Rave."

"This here is Hoops, and this guy is Dumbbell."

"Hi."

Hoops spoke up. "From what you did there, I think we'll get along just fine."

Shadow Rave thought for a moment. Should he really make friends with them? They don't seem like the nicest pegasi, but still this might be the only chance he gets to make friends, Shit "Hehe, ya i agree. Friends?" Shadow Rave asked putting up a hoof.

"For sure." All the pegasi said and brohoofed Shadow Rave. After about ten minutes a stallion walked onto the stage and started yell amidst the students, "Everypony Quiet!" that wasn't enough to settle the young pegasi, the principal shouted again "Everypony QUIET!" this caused all the students too stare at him "Good, Now everypony i would like to welcome you to Cloudsdale Flight School! Also my name is Principal Stinkmeaner."

(Yes that was a Boondocks reference)

Principal StinkMeaner's name caused a few students to giggle "SILENCE!" Principal StinkMeaner Shouted, freezing everypony in shock. The principal continued his speech, "This is a school where all the famous flyers come from, so we expect your fullest in every class, including academics!" This was followed by all the students groaning, "Stop that, Now! Thank you, now You will all be given a card containing the name of your dorm mate and your dorm number, Your dorm mate will be of the same gender." Some of the male students groaned.

Three teachers started Handing out cue cards with names on them. Like all the other cards Shadow Rave's contained a single name "Billy" Shadow Rave's dorm mate would be one of his newfound friends, good news for once. Shadow Rave started looking for Billy, but before he could turn Billy had found him "Hey, so i guess we're dorm mates. Pretty cool, right?"

"Heh, Yeah."

"Well, Says here, our dorm number is thirteen."

"Shall we get going?"

"I don't see why not." And with that the two friends flew to their dorm. When Billy and Shadow Rave arrived their luggage was awaiting their arrival, Shadow Rave's small pile was towered by Billy's mountain of things, as did everypony else's in the hallway "Hey Shadow, why didn't you bring, like, anything?" Billy asked.

"I didn't have much to bring."

"Oh, doesn't matter, just curious." Billy exclaimed while bringing in his stuff. Shadow Rave put his instruments in the closet on his side, the right side, of the dorm, he put the picture on the bedside table which had a lamp on it, and finally put the poster on the wall.

Shadow Rave turned his head to Billy's side of the dorm to see pornographic posters plastered all over the wall, "Umm, Billy why did you put those up?" Shadow Rave asked disgusted.

"Because they're hot."

"I don't really like them... At all."

"How!?"

"Guess i'm not in too that sorta thing."

"Just ignore them."

"I'll try."

"Good, cause I ain't taking them down."

New students were excused from school the day they got there.. Shadow Rave had nothing to do, but luckily the Blue Wings were have a flight show today. The show was their last one before the flight fight.

The clock counted one hour before the show. Shadow Rave was behind the stage with the team. Shadow Rave was talking to Sunset Runner, her flight suit covered her yellow coat "Wow, Shadow four years you've DJ for us."

"Its been the best four years of my life."

"None of our DJs have lasted four years, they either got sloppy or became obsessed with nothing but the money."

"Im not interested into the money cause i have nothing to spend it on, and being sloppy will only cause me failure."

"Heh, thats true. You know kid, you're also my favourite DJ." Sunset Runner flung her green mane backwards.

"Really? Thanks, that... that means a lot."

"No problem. Well, I got to go get ready, you should too."

"Alright." Shadow Rave and Sunset Runner went separate ways. One to the DJ's spin table, the other to where the team would enter. When Shadow Rave was standing at the spin table, he could see roughly ten thousand pegasi with more ready to enter.

"ARE YOU READY!" the announcer shouted from his cloud, the crowd to cheer loudly.

"WELL LET'S GET THIS STARTED!" That was Shadow Rave's que to start the theme.

The Blue Wings did the routine from Shadow Rave's first show. First Thunder Twister flew out, followed by Sunset Runner, and Finally Lightning Runner. Once again, the team was worn out, but not as much as the first time.

After the show, Thunder Twister started a conversation with Shadow Rave "Hey, Shadow Rave I heard you started Flight School."

"Yeah, Cloudsdale Flight School."

"That's where I went, you know."

"Yeah, I guessed that."

"Hehe, wait... If the schedule hasn't changed since i was there, you should be heading back."

Shadow Rave looked back at the clock, seeing it five minutes till three "OH CRAP! Sorry gotta fly, see ya later!" and with that Shadow Rave took off at full speed.

Shadow Rave arrived at three fifteen, he still had fifteen minutes till assembly. When he entered his dorm he saw a dark pink mare lying on top of Billy, they were in a large make out session. Shadow Rave shuddered at the sight and backed out. Hopefully Dumb-Bell and Hoops were up to something. Their dorm was only two dorms down the hall.

When Shadow Rave entered he saw that Dumb-Bell and Hoops were sitting on their beds talking. Hoops was the first to notice Shadow Rave "Oh, hey Shadow Rave. Whats up?"

"Not much, just walked in on Billy doing... stuff."

Hoops and Dumb-Bell started laughing a bit before Dumb-Bell spoke up "Yeah, you can expect from him. He was always good with the mares."

"I see."

"He's always got me and Hoops jealous."

"Im surprised she's not disgusted by his posters."

"Oh, those porn ones? You don't like 'em, what did you bring."

"No I don't like them, and I only brought a Blue Wings poster, a picture of me and the Blue Wings, a ponystep making machine and my stratacoltster."

"Wait, You know the Blue Wings?" both Hoops and Dumb-Bell said in unison.

"No, I DJed for them."

"No." Hoops cooed

"I do not believe you." Dumb-Bell exclaimed

"Get a Blue Wings poster, if you got one."

Hoops turned his upper half to the wall and tore off a Blue Wings poster. Shadow Rave was hoofed (lets just go with that) the poster "See, right here." He pointed towards the bottom right corner, where it displayed the words "With their DJ Shadow Rave" Dumb-Bell was dumbfounded ,as was Hoops "Dude, you're awesome."

"Thanks."

Hoops spoke up "Do you know Sunset Runner?"

"Yes, why?"

"I think she's hot."

"Wow, well I guess I see where your coming from." Hoops and Dumb-Bell let out small giggles, "Shit, look at the time! We gotta go to assembly."

The three colts flew off to assembly, two minutes late.

Flight School Part 2

The trio was able to slip into their assembly undetected. They were greeted by the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" lecture; nothing interesting. After the assembly, Shadow Rave, Hoops, and Dumb-Bell all made their way to Shadow Rave's dorm to meet up with Billy. When they got there they found out he had skipped assembly entirely.

"Oh hey guys, *snort* how was assemb---

"BILLY GUESS WHAT!"

"Holy shit Dumb-Bell... what!?"

"Shadow Rave is the DJ for the Blue Wings!"

"Yeah, right."

"No, look!" Dumb-Bell pointed at Shadow Rave's poster to prove his point.

"Holy shit. That's so fucking cool!"

"Dude, we totally have bragging rights now!"

Shadow Rave didn't like this. " Guys, for now I'm not interested in telling everypony. It'll just get in my way, maybe later though."

"Really Shadow? Such a buzz-kill."

"Sorry! God, look it's the weekend now... can't we just have fun?"

"Oh yeah, lucky we came here on a friday." See, there's a whole week for the new students to arrive, but the actual week can't start until all the 'newbies' arrive. Shadow Rave and his friends were the last to arrive. Causing the week to start late. "Well, What can we do?" Hoops asked.

"You guys ever heard of a club called the Mile High?" Shadow Rave asked  Shadow Rave's friends broke out into laughter "What?"

Billy spoke up; "Ok, its cool you DJ for the Blue Wings 'n shit, but the Mile High club? Thats VIP only!"

"Fine, when we get there, they'll let me in."

"Suuuuuuuure."

"Ugh." Billy was starting to give Shadow Rave a headache.

The Mile High club was constructed of purple clouds and more or less in the shape of a large cake. When the foursome of colts arrived at the door they were stopped by a bouncer "ID please."

Shadow Rave looked up at the bouncer "Really?"

The bouncer realized who he had stopped "Sorry Mr.Rave, please proceed in."

"Thank you." Shadow Rave continued in "Mr Rave, what about these three?" nodding his towards Billy, Hoops and Dumb-Bell "They're with me."

"Proceed."

Once the three colts had caught up with Shadow Rave, Hoops spoke up "Dude, that was so rad!"

"Thanks." Shadow Rave said putting on a smug look. As soon as the four friends entered, Billy exclaimed, "I'll be right back." and whipped off somewhere in the crowd.

"Okaaaaaaay. That was weird." Dumb-Bell said. Shadow Rave wasn't paying attention, he had caught sight of a almost life long friend. Shadow Rave trotted over to him "Hey Thunder"

"Why hello Shadow Rave, how yah doing?"

"Pretty good, Im here with my friends, one of them seems a little crazy."

Thunder Twister started laughing "I see, well i'm here because i'm actually a little nervous about the flight fight. Feel like getting it off my mind tonight"

"What? You guys are gonna win, I kn---

"Shadow Rave why'd you run off? Hey who are you talkhababa..." Hoops started to stutter when he saw Thunder Twister "So Shadow, I am assuming these are your friends?"

"Well some of them. This is Hoops and this is Dumb-Bell."

"Nice ta meet cha."

"N-nice to meet you too." Hoops responded

"Y-yeah." Dumb-Bell agreed

Suddenly Billy showed up "Quick guys, follow me!"

Dumb-Bell didn't want to leave the presence of the Blue Wings Captain. "But.."

"No buts, come on!" and grabbed Hoops and Dumb-Bell and pulled them away, Shadow Raved turned to Thunder Twister "That.. Was the crazy one."

"I noticed. Well, you might as well follow them."

"Alright, seeya later." Shadow Rave turned around and followed the trail... the big gap of ponies to where his friends were. They were waiting outside a door labeled "8" there was a row of doors all with numbers leading up to twenty "So what did you want to show us, Billy?"

"Well, I convinced the bartender to get us a private room." Shadow Rave remembered the bartender, a mare named Tequila Twist "Wow, Dumb-Bell wasn't kidding when he said you were good with the mares."

"Yeah *sigh* Im surprised its not my special talent. Anyways I also got her to get us a little something else." Billy smiled mischievously.

"Oh god." Shadow Rave thought expecting a stripper or something along those lines. But when they all entered there was just a table set to the brim with all kinds of alcoholic drinks "Holy shit.." Shadow Rave, Hoops and Dumb-Bell all exclaimed

"Lets get drunk!" Billy exclaimed

"Uh, Billy you know we're under-age right?" Shadow Rave asked worried

"Who's gonna care? Your the DJ for the Blue Wings, and we're with you!"  This convinced Hoops and Dumb-Bell "Yeah, come on Shadow try it!"

"Im not entirely sure..."

"try it." Shadow Rave's friends started chanting.

"Ugh, fine if it will shut you guys up." Shadow Rave stretched for a random bottle. The drink was labelled "Appleoosa's Pure Honest Tequila."

"Well, here goes nothing." Shadow Rave took a large gulp. That was when the three other colts started drinking.

"Hey, this is pretty good." Shadow Rave started to drink more, becoming oblivious to the fact that it was illegal.

Shadow Rave woke up with a start as his alarm clock went off. The colt remembered the night before. Shadow Rave had a small amount of alcohol, while his friends may have gone a little crazy. When they woke up their heads would be pounding. The time was currently five clock, perfect still four hours before the flight fight.

Shadow Rave grabbed his bits and exited his dorm on a quest to find somewhere to eat. Shadow Rave ended up in a nearby café with a daisy sandwich and water. By the time Shadow Rave had finished it was six thirty, still two and a half hours to go.

"Now what?" Shadow Rave asked himself, pondering on what to do. Eventually he had decided to go to the stadium to help set up, though he should have been there sooner. When he arrived Shadow Rave trotted to where his spin table would be and saw Wires, the technician "Hey Wires, I'll take it from here."

The yellow pegasus turned to Shadow Rave, "You sure Shadow?"

"Yeah, I mean you've showed me how to set it up in the last couple years."

"Alright, fine." Wires then set off to help setup the speakers. Once finished, Shadow Rave went to meet with the team "Hey Guys." Shadow Rave greeted upon entering

"Hey Shadow!" Sky Breacher exclaimed.

"Oh, sup Sky."

"Nothing much, so I heard you and your buds were at the Mile High last night?"

"Yeah, We ended up drinking and my friends.... May have had a little too much."

"Hehe, what about you?"

"Just a couple of sips."

"Good for you!" Sky Breacher said toying with Shadow Rave

"Shut up."

"Well, I'll be seeing ya. Need to go talk to the sister!" (Sky Breacher's sister being Sunset runner).

"Catch you later!" Shadow Rave continued to trot around the area looking for other team members. Not one minute later Shadow Rave found Solar flare.

"Hey solar."

"And a hello to you, Shadow Rave!" In a thick Scottish accent.

"I was wondering, have you met the wonderbolts?"

"Oi, yes I have, an' there leader. Quite a fine young lass."

"I haven't met them and don't plan on it, unless I end up their disc jockey."

"Well, I best be going. Goodbye Shadow Rave!"

"See ya!" Solar then trotted off to... Celestia knows where. Shadow Rave brushed off the next forty five minutes speaking to various ponies. But the time came for him to prepare at the spin table.

As always the announcer positioned him self upon a cloud in the stadium "Welcome Cloudsdale, for we have a special event for you today. A flight fight between the BLUE WINGS!"

The crowd cheers.

"And their opponents are a very talented uprising team, THE WONDERBOLTS!"

Again the crowd cheers. Around the whole stadium, the theme song started to play, cueing both teams to fly into the stadium. The blue wings start their routine first, (which is a advanced version of a barrel roll gain a 8,9 and 10 s from the judges. The routine continued and gained a high-score from the judges.

The Wonderbolts then preformed their Routine. They also received a high score from the judges.

The crowd was cheering before the announcer exclaimed "THE JUDGES ARE NOW TOLLING THE SCORES!" the entire stadium became quiet

"NOW REMBER, THE HIGHEST SCORE REACHABLE IS 60!" the stadium remained quiet.

"THE JUDGES HAVE NOW FINISHED THE SCORES! FIRST THE BLUE WINGS WHO HAVE RECEIVED A TOTAL OF.... 56!" The crowd erupts with cheering.

"AND THE WONDERBOLTS WHO HAVE RECEIVED!"

The suspense...

Nothing could be heard in the stadium...

"FIFTEEEEEEEEY EIGHT!" all the ponies jump up in celebration, completely oblivious to the fact that there was one heart broken colt amongst them. Shadow Rave couldn't believe that the team that changed his life, that he had worked for, for four years with was out of business.

Shadow Rave was sitting in his bed. He wasn't crying, he didn't see where it would get him. Shadow Rave kept on going over the event in his mind, his thoughts were interrupted by Billy, "Shadow Man, where were you?"

"Where the fuck do you think?"

"Dude, chill out! but honestly, where were you?"

…"I was at the flight fight between the Wonderbolts and the Blue Wings. the wonderbolts won."

"Really? that must suck for you!"

"Yeah, thanks."

"Hey, how long were you there any way?"

"Shadow Rave looked at the time, it was six o'clock past morning "seven hours."

"Oh, well see ya!"

"ugh." Shadow Rave blew off the rest of the day blowing off steam by making ponystep songs and strumming his guitar.

One week another assembly was called. Shadow Rave brought his guitar, he had a feeling he'd need it. When entering he saw the seats were mostly taken, though he saw his friend amongst them. They waved to him and they waved back. Shadow Rave flew up to his friends, Dumb-Bell asked "Yo Shadow, why do you have your guitar?"

"I don't know, I just feel like I'll need it."

"Heh, that's weird."

"Thanks." Before the conversation could continue, even though it seemed like it ended, the principle entered the room "Good morning Cloudsdale flight school. Now, we have some special guests today. You've probably heard that a week ago there was a flight fight. And the Winning team, being the Wonderbolts, have decided to have a special presentation here. The first thing they have to say involves one of you."

All the students began to chat in wonder "Silence! thank you now please welcome the Wonderbolts!"

The students clapped. Three pegasi entered the room, the speakers a mare with a orange/red mane "Hello Cloudsdale! First of all I'm Spitfire, That is Soarin' and this is Fleetfoot. These are just a few of the team member. First I hope you remember the Principal mentioned we have a proposition for one of you?"

The students nodded vigorously, except for Shadow Rave "Well, We heard that the DJ for the Blue Wings goes to this school." There was some murmur among the students "Well, We are looking for him. Because we want him to DJ for us."Some of the students chatted, asking who he might be. Hoops nudged Shadow Rave "It's ME Spitfire!" The students gasped at the one among them standing Brolly. Spitfire seemed bit unsure "Are you sure?"

"Yes."

Hoops leaned to Shadow Rave "Dude, Get up there. He's taking your credit!"

"Nah, I'm good."

"Really! He's taking the credit for what you've done for years and you don't give a shit?"

Spitfire noticed Hoops whispering "Excuse me? Do you have something to say?"

"Yes I do actually, My friend here is the real DJ."

The students gasped again "Is he telling the truth?" Soarin' asked looking at Shadow Rave. Shadow Rave sighed "Yes, yes he is."

AGAIN the students gasped "Do you have any proof?"

"WELL! the DJ is supposed to know the theme song from memory. And I happen to have my guitar here, so here Brolly you play the song!" Shadow Rave unzipped the guitar, flew down and gave him the guitar.  Brolly took the guitar and gulped

"No, no it goes like this. Shadow Rave took the guitar and played the song.

The students were in awe. "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Hoops, Dumb-Bell and BIlly shouted. Spitfire trotted up to Shadow Rave "Well then, Shadow Rave. Would you like to DJ for us?"

"Hmm… Well, seeing how you just put the team that I have been working with for half my life out of business, I'd say no. BUT, then again, it IS a way to continue DJ'ing… Let me think about it." Shadow Rave then flew dace back up to his friends and sat cross-hoofed.

Billy, Hoops and Dumb-Bell didn't speak to Shadow Rave, their mood changed after Shadow Rave's "speech". The Wonderbolts continued their presentation, then the principle finished up the assembly. When all the students we're exiting, somepony tapped Shadow Rave on the shoulder "What do you want now?" Shadow Rave turning to see Brolly.

"You just embarrassed me in front of the entire school."

"Not my problem, it was your fault." Shadow Rave turned to fly away, Brolly pulled him back "You, me. out front, tonight." Brolly flew off… "What a fucking crazy school" Shadow Rave thought to himself.

I feel kind of bad for the Club part, I feel like the chapter was a bit rushed.

Flight School part 3!

"Well, This Day just got a whole load more interesting." Shadow Rave said sitting on his bed

"Whaddya mean?" Billy asked

"Brolly told me to fight him tonight."

"Sweet, you're gonna go, right?"

"I guess so, I doubt I'm gonna win though."

Shadow Rave was in a circle made up of students. They were circling Shadow Rave and Brolly, "You embarrassed me in front of the whole school, Now I'm going to get you back!"

"Let's just get this over with."

Shadow Rave threw a punch, Brolly side stepped and hit Shadow Rave in the face. Blood spurted from Shadow's mouth, he grunted and wiped it away. Shadow Rave threw another punch, this one impacted Brolly. Brolly stepped back, then returned with a punch to Shadow Rave's gut. Shadow gasped and kept away from Brolly to catch his breath. The white pegasus rushed Shadow Rave, grabbed his head and bucked it. Shadow Rave was on the ground within seconds.

Billy, Hoops and Dumb-Bell all watched from the sideline "Aw, fuck!" Billy yelled "Come on Shadow, get up!"

Shadow Rave grunted as Brolly kicked him in the side "Quit being a pushover, fuckhead." Pushover, Shadow Rave didn't know what it was about that word. But it started a fire, a fire that filled him to the brim with energy. It pushed out the pain, he got back up. Shadow Rave walked over to Brolly, grabbed him on the shoulder "Don't call me a push over." He smashed his hoof into Brolly's face. Brolly flipped over as a tooth and blood sprayed from his mouth. His muzzle was broken.

"WHY DID YOU DO THIS? AND IN YOUR FIRST MONTH, TOO!"

The principle was furious.

"Didn't you see what he did?! He embarrassed me in front of the whole school!

"I DON'T CARE!"

When he left, Shadow Rave found that Billy was waiting for him "Dude that fight was so RAD!"

"Yeah, I heard you the first three-hundred times."

"I know... but I can't get over it!"

Shadow Rave was starting to get a headache again, "Please just shut up? I'm going back to the dorm."

"Uh... Okay?"

Its appears Shadow Rave was beginning to get moody.

--- 1 Year Later ---

Shadow Rave watched as the new students flourished into the halls, looking for their lockers, dorms and friends. But there was one student who caught his eye, a gryphon. Not many gryphons went to the flight schools in Equestria, the usually got an education in their homeland to the north. The gryphon seemed to be talking to a mare, Shadow Rave slipped to a corner to eaves drop "So Gilda, what do you think of school?"

"Eh... Its looks like a bunch of lameos."

"Come on! There's probably tons of cool people here!"

"Maybe."

It was hard to tell if Gilda, as the mare called her, was male or female, but Depicting from her voice Gilda was female. Shadow Rave walked in front of them, although they didn't notice him (which was was good seeing as he didn't want to start a conversation). Though Shadow Rave didn't see Gilda giving him a glance and smirking.

--- 1 week later ---

Shadow Rave was walking to his locker after a sleep filled day of math, history and Equestrian language. As he approached his locker he saw a yellow slip of paper sticking out of his locker.

"Huh?" Shadow Rave questioned what it could be in his mind, then he picked it up.

Ever since I joined this year I could help but notice you. You really stood out of the crowd, I knew that in many ways you were a keeper. I love the way you mane flows when you trot or fly.  And I have also been told that you are a famous musician.  I love music!  I hope that we can be together soon.

"What? So, someone has a crush on me? Holy Shit!"

And at the end of the hallway Gilda was snickering completely unaware how much this prank would affect Shadow Rave.

"Someone has a crush on you?"

Shadow Rave had just shown the note to Billy.

"Yeah, It looks like it might be more than a crush."

The two continued to converse until snickering could be heard outside "What was that?" Shadow Rave asked to the air.

"I don't know, I'll check."

Billy opened their door to reveal a certain gryphon outside close to a laughing fit "Why are you laughing?"

"Hehe, Y-you guys r-really didn't figure it o-out?"

"Figure out what?"

"That note! Its fake!"

Shadow Rave, unfortunately, heard this. "Bollocks! So no one has a crush on me?"

Billy and Gilda were completely oblivious to what Shadow Rave was saying because Billy was trying to deal with the laughing gryphon. The note to Gilda was a simple prank, where as to Shadow Rave it was a sign telling him that, there was still only one who cared for him; Princess Celestia. Depression would soon hit Shadow Rave again.

Shadow Rave pushed Billy and Gilda out of the way "What the hay nerd!"

Billy glared at Gilda, "You really have no clue, do you?"

"About what?"

No more of the conversation could be heard by Shadow Rave. The colt ran out of the the building at sat outside against the wall, letting all of his emotions out of his eyes, Small glistening tears. This continued for ten minutes until somepony tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hey, you alright?

Shadow Rave looked up to see a mare

"Who are you?"

"My names Cloud Chaser, what about you?"

"I'm... I'm *sniff* Shadow Rave."

"Do you want help or something? Because you don't look to good out here."

"No, not really."

"Aww come on!" Cloud Chaser pulled up Shadow Rave "Follow me."

Cloud Chaser led Shadow Rave back into the Dorm building and onto the fifth floor, and stopped behind a door labeled "51"

"This is my dorm, come in."

Cloud Chaser held the door for Shadow Rave, "Thanks."

"Sit on my bed." Cloud Chaser pointed towards a bed on the left side of the dorm. Cloud Chaser opened a fridge

"Do you want something?"

"What do you have?"

"I don't have much, But my roomy, Flitter, has some tea I could heat up...?"

"Sure, that sounds fine."

Shadow did not mention how much he fucking loved tea.

Cloud Chaser Jumped on the bed next to Shadow Rave "So, why were you sad."

"Just a prank somepony pulled on me."

"What was the prank?"

"A fake love letter."

"What's so bad about that?"

Shadow Rave thought, Should I tell her? I mean I just met her, but she does seem trusting.

"Well, I was abused for the first six years of my life, so my parents didn't love me. Eventually I ran away and ended up in Canterlot, where my step mother found me. Then I got signed to DJ for the Blue Wings, I mean, they're good friends, but not people who genuinely care for me. To them, i'm just a DJ.

And then I got sent here."

"Who was your stepmother?"

"... Princess Celestia."

"Really?"

"yeah."

"And you DJ'd for the Blue Wings?"

"Yep, I might do the contract for the Wonderbolts now that they beat the Blue Wings."

"You should do it!"

"Maybe, I don't really know, the tension might be a little... high."

"I guess."

There was a loud screech; the tea kettle was steaming. "Guess the tea is done."

Cloud Chaser got up and poured Shadow Rave a cup of the hot liquid and passed it to Shadow Rave "Thanks *slurp* this is pretty good."

"Thanks."

Shadow Rave sat back and attempted to relax, it worked. Shadow Rave put a small smile on his muzzle. Eventually Shadow Rave sat up. "I should probably go."

"Okay." Cloud Chaser had a hint of disappointment in her voice.

Shadow Rave looked at Cloud Chaser's eyes "thanks again though."

Shadow Rave didn't end up leaving, Cloud Chaser got up and walked to him. She leaned in eyes half open and was met by Shadow Rave's lips.

 The moment lasted longer than either of them had intended. When they parted Shadow Rave looked confused, as it was his first kiss "Woah."

Cloud Chaser nuzzled his nose and smiled,

"Seeya tomorrow."

Flight School part 4

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Ugh, Shadow turn that off..." Billy groaned.

With his face still buried in his pillow, Shadow Stuck his fore leg on the bedside table. His hoof scanned the flat surface looking for the alarm clock. Books, paper, lamp and then an alarm clock... Shadow put his hoof atop the alarm and switched it off. Shadow pushed himself up off his mattress with his front legs. Blinking, he attempted to make his vision clear.

Shadow licked his lips, they had a distinct taste on them, they tasted like... strawberries. Suddenly all the memories of last night flashed through his head, The note, Being found by Cloud Chaser... The kiss. What did that mean? Were Shadow and Cloud Chaser a thing? Shadow Rave remembered another thing, it was the weekend. Maybe he could decide while he was out. Shadow wondered around the school, hoping to wander into the cafeteria for breakfast. Shadow sat down after receiving oatmeal.

"Hey!"

Shadow Rave was hit with a surprise hug. Shadow looked at the mare who hugged him, Cloud Chaser. She returned the look and kissed him.

"Hi."

"Soooooo, how are you?"

"I guess I'm pretty good, a little tired. What about you?"

"I'm really good!"

"Why did you come over?"

"Because I wanted to see you, silly!"

"Thanks." That confirmed it, they were 'a thing'.

"Also, I thought we could spend the day together!"

"Sure."

"First thing I want you to do, is accept the contract for the Wonderbolts." Cloud Chaser poked Shadow's nose.

"Sure..." Shadow Rave said, a little hesitant.

"Ok, Shadow just go in there and say you wanna do the contract for them!"

"Holy hell, its been a year since they asked me to do it."

"just do it!"

"Ok, ok."

Cloud Chaser gave Shadow a kiss before he went in.

Shadow Rave entered the building, and saw a mare sitting at a desk, "Can I help you?"

"Uhhh, I'm looking for..." Damn what was her name? "I'm looking for Spitfire."

"And who might you be?"

"I'm Shadow Rave; about a year ago I was asked to DJ?"

"Hmmm." The mare began to flip through files. "Ah yes, Mr. Rave. Take the second-last door on the left."

"Thanks." Before going to see Spitfire, Shadow exited to see Cloud Chaser "Hey, Do you wanna come in with me?"

"Sure! Wait, not nervous are you?" Cloud Chaser eyed Shadow Rave suspiciously.

"What! NO! Oh, wait... you're joking."

"Of course I am!" Cloud Chaser hugged Shadow Rave.

Shadow and Cloud Chaser entered the room with Spitfire.

"Hello?"

"Who are you?" Spitfire asked curiously.

"Its me Shadow Rave? last year you invited me to DJ for you?"

"Oh yeah, I remember you, kid. Say, who's the mare?"

"Oh, this is my marefriend Cloud Chaser."

Cloud Chaser waved, "Hi! Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you too. So, Shadow, why are you here?"

"Well, is the DJ offer still open? Even after a year?"

"Yes, See all of the other... Celestia, its hard to call them disc jockeys, ponies who tried out were not very good."

"I see, but that doesn't answer my question."

"Oh, Right. Well next saturday come back. With a song of course, there are going to be some DJ tryouts."

"Ok, got it. But what time should I come over?"

"Seven o'clock, AM."

"Got it, we'll be seeing you."

"You too."

As Cloud Chaser and Shadow left the building, Cloud Chaser nudged Shadow Rave, "See! it wasn't that hard!"

"Yeah, you're right. I owe you."

"You sure do!"

"Well, now what do you want to do?"

*grumble*... *giggle* "Well I guess that answers it!"

"Well, where can we go? I mean we can't really go anywhere with our age."

"Aw, I bet we can find somewhere!"

"What have you got in mind?"

"Um… I think there is, like, a fast-food place somewhere around here."

"if you're up for it, I'm up for it. Good thing I brought my bits."

Shadow and Cloud found and entered the fast food joint that Cloud was talking about.

"So that will be two hay burger combos and one non-hard cider apple?"

"Um, actually, two cider apples."

"What?"

Shadow raised his voice a bit. "We would like two cider apples."

"So, two apples and that'll be all?"

"No", said Shadow, beginning to get a tad angry, "Two hay burger combos, and two non-hard cider apples!"

"That will be um…. like two-hundred and three bits."

"No probl- WHAT?"

"You wanted fifty-two hay burger combos with a side of cheesecake, right?"

After flying to the next restaurant, Shadow and Cloud ordered two hay burger combos and some cider apples.

Shadow leaned beside his chair and surfed through his saddlebag. Shadow retrieved the bits and hoofed them to the colt receiving their orders.

"Thanks, your burgers will be ready in about three minutes."

"Okay, sweet."

The waiter then proceeded to take his leave. Shadow turned to face Cloud Chaser, "So... I've never been to lunch with a mare before." Shadow Rave admitted, "I'm kinda clueless here."

Cloud Chaser hugged Shadow Rave, "Neither have I! I'm sure it'll be fine!"

Shadow laughed nervously, "I guess that will make it a little easier."

"Ok, enough with the being nervous. You need a positive attitude."

"Yeah, you're right. So, tell me, Why did you seem so… plain, at first but now you seem so happy and energetic?"

"I get shy around ponies at first, then when I get to know them I get all nice."

"Then why did you approach me outside the gym?"

"Just because I'm shy doesn't mean I won't help a pony who looks like they're in need."

"Oh, well then, thanks."

"For what?"

"For helping me."

"No problem!" Cloud hugged Shadow.

Soon after the colt returned, "So, like, heres your foods and um… 'n stuff."

He clumsily put the burgers in front the two. After he left Shadow leaned over the table and whispered to Cloud, "I wasn't sure before but now I am, that pony's high!"

Cloud began to giggle, "Sure seems like it."

"Lets hope theres nothing in the food!"

Cloud was now stifling a laugh.

Shadow continued to speak, "Ok, I think we should eat. I don't really want to attract attention."

"Okay!"

Shadow and Cloud proceeded to eat for a good hour before heading back to the school.

"Its kinda late now what should we do?" Shadow asked, not wanting to end the night yet

"I think Flitter brought some movies to the school."

"Sure, that sounds fun."

Shadow and Cloud proceeded back to Cloud and Flitter's dorm. Cloud began to scan the movies, while Shadow setup the projector,

"Hey," Shadow asked of Cloud, "How come I've never seen Flitter?"

"Well, she tends to leave campus because her families opening some restaurant in Phillydalphia."

"Ah, well you seem to talk about her quite a bit so I'm interested in meeting her."

"You should be, she's really cool!"

"Well, as I said before I am!" (Jeez, I suck at conversations)

"Awwww."

"What's wrong?"

"It looks like Flitters only packed horror movies."

"And?"

"I don't really like horror movies… but I guess you'll be here so I could watch it."

"Okay, sure. What movie did you pick."

"Um, I think I'll choose this one. Nightmare night."

"What's it about?"

"Some stupid teenage ponies party in a house, and some pony named Masked Killer, who has a mask over his face starts stabbing all the ponies. Sounds… interesting."

"Sure I'm up for it."

Cloud put the movies into the VHS and sat down on her bed with Shadow. The movie started out with a group of ponies who looked different from the group described on the back. This seemed to be the group that just dies in five minutes, shows the killer, and how gory the movie is. Apparently it was very gory, the first kill must've been a whole minute of a pony getting stabbed.Roughly half way through the movie, when a pony was getting decapitated, Cloud Chaser fell asleep. Shadow Rave took that as a sign that he too could fall asleep, as sleep as creeping in on him. Cloud, whose head was resting on Shadow's shoulder, was curled into a small ball leaning against Shadow. Shadow wandered off to sleep with Cloud Chaser still leaning on him.

Shadow woke up, something was nudging him in the cheek. drowsily, he opened his eyes to see a pony, who seemed about his age.

"uh… Who the hell are you?"

"I'm Shadow Rave."

"Well then 'Shadow Rave' may I ask why the hell Cloud is sleeping on you?"

"Because I'm her coltfriend."

"Oh, now I remember you, she seemed to talk about you."

"Ah, well I think I'd better go. Also I didn't get your name."

"Flitter, the names Flitter."

"Well nice to meet you Flitter." Shadow said as he turned to leave, deciding he really should get to work on that song for the auditions.

Flight School part 5

One week later, Shadow Rave was currently in the Cloudasium, ready for the disc jockey tryouts. Currently the Wonderbolts, Shadow, and three other try-outs were listening to an abomination of ponystep, Which happened to made by a stallion who seemed as if he had never even as. His "shirt" was stained and tattered, and he seemed too drunk and high to be be legally standing. Why would Spitfire even let him into their building? Are they that desperate?

As soon as the song was over Spitfire's and Fleetfoot's face-off turned into a smile at the joy of the song being over. Next a pony who seemed to have some experience walked up to the stage and played the song with a good beat. The rest of the auditions went steady. Then it was Shadow Rave's turn, he went up, while the other try-outs started sniggering,

"He so small, theres no way he'll even play a good song."

Shadow pulled a record out of his saddlebag labelled "Wonderbolts theme", put it on the spin table and it began to play.

When the song had finished, from the looks on the try-outs faces, they were completely wrong. After Shadow Rave's turn Spitfire took the stage,

"Alright, me and the team'll need your vinyl records. So we can have more… um… time to decide on who won… and kid? We'll want to see you after this."

Shadow nodded, acknowledging what Spitfire had said. All the other Try-outs walked up to Spitfire and put their records in Spitfire's hoof. Shadow, being a bit lazy decided to not give Spitfire the record until he left.

Once the try-outs had left, Spitfire and two other Wonderbolts took no delay in running over to Shadow. Spitfire was the one to speak,

"Alright kid we all can agree that you are obviously the one who's gonna DJ for us, right?" Spitfire looked around at the other Wonderbolts expecting an answer to her question, to which she got one.

"Yeah"

"Totally"

Next it was Soarin' who spoke,

"Alright Shadow, the other try-outs are going to get an envelope saying you beat them, our next practice is friday and we'd like it if you could make it."

His voice was considerably higher than Shadow expected.

"Got it, I'll see if I can leave school early to catch more of it!"

Spitfire nodded and smiled, appreciating Shadow's enthusiasm.

"Alright kid see you in a few days."

" Yep, see you guys."

After that Shadow left.

When Shadow returned Cloud, Billy and the rest would be waking soon. Shadow decided to try and sneak into his room, as to not wake Billy. Shadow silently opened the door, only a crack of light crept in showing Shadow's bed. Turning sideways Shadow sneaked in, his wing feathers brushing the wall.

Once in, Shadow placed the turn table back it its previous home. Shadow sat down on his bed, making it creak. Shadow winced when his bed made the sound, but the disturbance only made Billy turn over in his sleep. Shadow sat in his bed, waiting for Billy to get up.

Billy groaned, he sat up on his behind and rubbed his dreary eyes. Using his front hooves to support himself, he spoke,

"Damn, what time is it?"

He looked over at his alarm clock "Ten o-clock? 'Bit early if you ask me."

Billy got out of his bed and staggered to the door, and stumbled out to the cafeteria.

After that, Shadow decided to get up, a little energetic knowing the good news. Of course Shadow wouldn't brag of his achievements. Once Shadow was out and about in the campus the first person he ran into was Billy,

"Sup man, how'd you do at them try outs?"

"Spitfire told me I'd defiantly be getting the job."

"Sick man. hey me, dumb-bell and hoops are gonna be out later wanna join?"

"Nah, I'm good. I'll just be hanging around the school for a bit. But if I change my mind where can I find you guys?"

"We'll probably be around the basket ball courts." (Hey, since theres a pony called Hoops and his cutie mark is basket balls I'm assuming the have it)

"Okay, sounds good. But just so you know I'm bloody horrible at basket ball."

"Have you ever even played it?"

"Eh, once or twice in gym."

Billy laughed, "Alright, well see ya round Shadow."

"Yeah, you too."

Just as Billy walked around the corner, Cloud Chaser approached Shadow. Shadow gave a silent prayer in his mind, if Cloud found out that he was friends with Billy and his "crew" it would mean bad news for Shadow. Because, Billy would tend to… "pick" on Cloud. Normally Shadow would ditch Billy and the two others but they were still his only friends besides Cloud and Flitter. Though, if that changed soon he would probably ditch them.

"Hi Shadow!" Cloud hugged Shadow.

"Hey, how're you doing?"

"Really good! I heard you went to the WonderBolts tryouts, how'd you do?"

"I made it!" Shadow smiled

"Really? Good job!"

"Thanks!"

"Sorry, but I've got to go. I'm going to Flitter's house today!"

Cloud trotted down the hall and waved to the left, and Flitter stood next to her.

Shadow turned around and opened his eyes in surprise, as did the mare he accidentally touched lips with. The mare's coat was a light shade of magenta and her main was blue, as where her eyes.

Shadow jumped back, "Sorry! Sorry! It was an accident!"

"No, it's fine."

"Wait, what?"

"It's fine, don't worry your self over it."

"Okay..." Shadow was quite confused by this mares reaction.

"I'm Firefly by the way."

"Uh, Shadow Rave." Shadow stuck out his hoof, they shook hooves.

"C'ya later." Firefly walked off giggling

"What just happened?" Shadow question as he walked out of the school...

Back to the castle!

It was Hearth's Warming Eve in Equestria. The snow was falling in a delightful haze, cheering the mood of ponies all around. Lights could be seen the snow, showing that everypony was enjoying the holidays with their friends and family. Canterlot was an array of lights and singing, a pinacle of the season.

Now we indulge, once again, in the the story of Shadow Rave. He had decided to return to the castle for most of the holiday, to see Princess Celestia again, to see the castle again, to roam the streets on Canterlot again. Yes, he was extremely excited for when he would leave. Shadow, thought he should tell Cloud and Billy about his leave to Canterlot. Shadow trotted out of his room in his extasy. Shadow first went out to the school courts, hoping to tell Billy and the rest.

Once Shadow exited the dorm building, he was almost instantly able to see Billy's brown coat, giving him away instantly.

"Hey Billy!" Shadow called over to Billy. Billy looked over, nodded at Shadow, the face saying "One second" After that Billy jumped to the right of Dumb-Bell, and took a half court shot. The ball sailed over the court, landed on the front of the rim, bounced off the backboard and fell of the backboard, missing the hoop.

"Damn!" Billy cursed, Billy punched Hoops in the should and said something Shadow couldn't hear. Billy trotted over to Shadow,

"Sup dude."

"Hows it going?"

"Pretty good."

"Thats great, but need'a tell you something mate."

"Sure, what is it?"

"Well, you know I lived with Celestia right?"

"Yeah, she's your adopted mom or whatever right? It's pretty dope."

"Well, just thought you should know, I'm leaving for the castle later today. So, I won't be around for the next month-ish."

"Nice bro, that sounds sick! Also, you wanna stick around for a few games?" Billy directed his nod back at the Basketball court.

"Remember, I suck major, so you wouldn't want me on your team." Shadow laughed

"Nah bro, it's fine. You can go with me against Dumb-Bell and Hoops."

"Ain't Hoops the best out of all of you?"

"Yeah, but I got a few trick up my sleeve I wanna try on him."

"Eh, if you wanna who am I to stop you?"

"An asshole?" Billy questioned

"Shut up." Shadow spurted the two words in a joking monotone matter. Billy laughed, and walked over to the courts where the four pegasi played three good games of basketball, Hoops' team taking the win with 2 - 1 (Sorry, didn't feel like writing basketball games).

After the games Shadow realized that there were still a few ponies that he still had to say goodbye too. Shadow looked to Billy and the rest,

"Hey guys, I needa go say bye to some otherponies seeya."

After a few byes Shadow was off.

Shadow walked into the dorm building and headed to Cloud and Flitter's room. He knocked on the door and heard a small "Hello?"

Shadow walked in to see Flitter listening to music, apparently quiet music too.

"Hey, do you know where Clowd is?"

"Umm..." Flitter took her headphones off and and put a hoof up to her muzzle.

"I think she left to go see her friend on the second floor."

Shadow raised his eyebrow, "Is it a mare or a colt?"

Flitter got his message, "Don't worry, she's a mare."

"Oh, ok."

Shadow left the room and her Flitter say, "Suspicious idiot."

Shadow smirked and walked down to the second floor.

Shadow mindlessly stared at all the numbers of the dorm room doors, unsure of which on he should be heading to. Shadow looked down the hallway, which branched into other hallways. Oh Celestia, this would take a couple of hours to search. And, as luck would have it, a mare came out of one of the many hallways and looked at Shadow,

"Hey, are you Shadow Rave?"

Shadow looked around, "Who me?"

"Who else, theres nopony else in the hallway."

"Oh, right. Well, yeah I am."

"And, I'm guessing your looking for Cloud?"

"Yeah,why."

"She said she knew you, and you look like the description. So, are you looking for her?"

"Yep."

"Okay then, follow me."

The mare went down two more hallways to a door with the number "57" printed on it. The mare nodded towards the door,

"Me and Cloud were working on a Project thats due in like three days."

"Okay, well I'm just here to tell her something then I'll be off."

"Thats fine, thanks."

Shadow entered the room after the mare and saw Cloud at a desk with two chairs infront of it. Cloud was writing on some paper and had two text books open in front of her.

"Wow, looks like you guys are down deep in homework."

Cloud quickly swung her head around to see the source of Shadow Rave's voice.

"Oh, hey Shadow." Cloud smiled

"I came looking for you because I need to tell you something."

"Oh, yeah sure, anything."

"Well, I'm leaving back for the castle in a few hours."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, thought I'd visit Celestia."

Cloud's friend bumped in, Shadow had forgotten about her,

"Wait, you know the princess?"

Shadow looked over, "Yeah, she's my adopted mom."

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah..."

"That is SO cool!"

"Thanks..." Shadow turned back to Cloud, "So, yeah, I'm probably leaving within the next hour."

"Okay, well if I don't see you later, bye!"

Cloud hugged Shadow.

Shadow returned to his dorm to double checked he packed everything necessary. Yes, he had. Shadow set his alarm for thirty minutes later and jumped on his bed for a nap.

As expected the alarm was beeping louder than ever.

"Shut up."

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Shut up!"

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"I will kill you."

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Your putting your family at risk now."

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Right, I forgot about the sleep button..."

Click...

"Oh right, I'm going to Canterlot!"

Shadow jumped out of his bed, went to the lobby in one of the other buildings on campus, grabbed a trolly, went back to his room and started to load his things on it. After that was done Shadow wheeled the trolley out of the building and waited at a location of where he was suposed to wait for a carriage driver. After a good five minutes the carriage came into sight. The carriage stopped infront of Shadow, the trunk opened at Shadow started loading his things in the trunk of the carriage. Once that was done Shadow hopped into the backseat of the carriage and said "Canterlot" to remind the driver of where he was going.

The carriage landed on a private road for people from the castle only. Shadow got out of the carriage and the driver loaded all of Shadow's things onto another trolley and followed Shadow to his room. When they had got to Shadow's room, Shadow still hadn't seen the princess, just a few guards. Shadow pointed to a corner in his room and told the carriage driver to unload everything in the space.

Shadow thought that the princess was in her throne room, so thats where Shadow headed. Once Shadow was in the room though, the Princess wasn't in her throne room. Shadow walked up to a royal guard,

"Hey, do you know where the princess is?"

"Her Majesty may still be in her study."

"Thanks."

Shadow walked to Princess Celestia's study. Shadow was about to open the door the he heard the princess say something.

"Come on, concentrate!"

Shadow walked into the room and saw the princess next to a table smiling at something.

"Princess?"

The princess looked over and saw Shadow and smiled even harder,

"Oh, you back Shadow! It's so nice to see you again."

"You too princess."

Shadow heard a small zapping noise somewhere above him and then something fell on his head.

"Ow!" Shadow rubbed his head where a booked had fallen on him, "How'd that get above me?"

Next a small unicorn filly ran up to Shadow, "Oh, I'm so sorry!"

Shadow's eyes opened and looked down at the filly, her coat was violet and her mane was an array of dark purple, hot oink and a brighter purple. Her cutie mark was what also appeared to be a spark of some sort with five sparkles arrayed arround it.

"And who are you?"

"I'm, I'm Twilight Sparkle."

The princess then spoke, "Yes Shadow, this is my new personal student Twilight. She will be staying with us for a while."

"Wow, she's pretty young to be trained by you, Princess."

Twilight jumped up, "No I'm not!"

Shadow looked down and Twilight looked a little angry and sad,

"Okay, Okay. You're not to young."

"Thank you." Twilight smiled

"How old are you anyways?"

"I'm five!"

Shadow spread his eyes again, "Wow..."

The the princess spoke again, "Yes, Twilight is an exceptional student and has so very much potential. I just had to take her in."

"What were you two working on when I walked in anyways?"

Twilight spoke up, "We were doing a transportation spell, they're really hard!"

"I bet."

"Do you want to see?"

"Sure, just not on my head again." Shadow smiled.

"Okay." Twilight laughed, highly pitched.

Twilight picked up the book with a levitation spell and walked it over to a table and placed it down. Once it was down Twilight closed her eyes and a purple aura surrounded the book. Twilight started to sweat a bit, the spell was obviously new to her. After about thirty seconds the book disappeared in light and reappeared right infront of Shadow's face.

"Woah!" Shadow jumped back as the flash surprised him. Twilight and Princess Celestia laughed at Shadow's reaction.

"That was NOT funny."

"Yes it was." Twilight sniggered.

"Yeah, maybe for you, but not me."

At that point a Royal messenger came through the door and bowed, "Your Majesty, there are governmental needs that require your needs in Manehatten, I shall inform the of the needs on the way there."

Princess Celestia frowned, "Yes, I shall go." the Princess turned to Shadow Rave, "It appears that you shall be in charge of Twilight. As to who will be in charge of the castle, I shall inform one of the Senators."

"Yes, Celestia."

Shadow looked to Twilight, "Well, I can't really teach you any magic so... what do you want to do?"

Twilight put her hoof to her chin, "Ummm..... OH! My brother is training for guard duty, we could visit him!"

"Sounds good to me."

Shadow and Twilight trotted through the castle to the other side and out into the fields. Then they took a right, mid-field, and headed to the training grounds. When the two walked in the Sergeant was giving the traines drills. Shadow looked down at Twilight,

"So, which one is your brother?"

"He's.... Oh, its hard to tell with the mud on them." After a few seconds she pointed to a stallion, roughly four years older than Shadow, He was covered in mud and had a white coat and a mane with multiple shades of blue.

"Wow, he looks tough. Whats his name?"

"Shining Armour!" (Yes, Canadian spelling.)

"Okay, I'll be right back." Shadow walked up to the Drill Sergeant, "Hey, can we see Shining Armour for a sec?"

The Drill Sergeant laughed, "And, who are you?"

"... The Princess' adopted son."

The Drill Sergeants eyes opened wide, "I'm am quite sorry sir." Then he turned to the recruits, "Shining! Take five!"

Shining Armour from before got up and walked over to Shadow, "Who are you?"

Shadow sighed, having just pointed this out, "I'm the Princess' adopted son, but I'm here with your sister, Twilight."

Shining Armour's ears perked up, "Twily?" he smiled, "Where is she?"

"She's just over there." Shadow pointed to the small filly waving at them."

Shining Armour ran at her, stopped infront of her and went in for a hug, but stopped mid-motion, "Um, I'd hug you but I'm covered in mud."

"It's alright." Twilight hugged her brother.

Shining Armour bent back up and looked at Shadow, "So, why are you guys over here anyways?"

Shadow looked down thinking, "Well, the Princess left for some business is Manehatten. So, she left me in charge of Twilight because your in training and Twilight wanted to come over here."

"Aww." Shining Armour hugged his sister again, "I really appreciate it."

"Well, like I said before, it was your sister's idea."

Shining Armour changed the subject, "Hey, I don't think I've ever seen you around before, did she, like, just adopt you or something?"

"No, actually. I've been at Flight School in Cloudsdale for the last year and a half."

"Oh, well we got here a year ago."

"When does your training end then?"

"In.... six months It think."

"That's pretty long for guard training. And you seem pretty young for it."

"We are the ROYAL guard though, and I'm fifteen. Obviously older than you shorty."

"Okay, okay. Point taken."

Shining Armour looked back at his training, "Looks like their starting a new session, I'd better get back."

Twilight's lip curved, shakily, "But you just got here!"

Shining Armour rubbed her head, "Don't worry, I'll sneak out later and talk to you."

"Oh, oh! I can show you my new teleportation spell I learned."

"Sounds good, talk to you later." Shining Armour sprinted back to his training.

Shadow looked at Shining Armour, "Wow, he's a cool pony."

"I know! The princess says he's got potential for Captain of The Guard!"

"Yeah, I bet. He's like four sit ups ahead of all the other ponies, and I bet their something like five years older than him."

"I don't know, maybe I should ask!"

Shadow put his hoof on Twilight's shoulder, "Maybe you ask him that tonight, I don't think that sergeant wants another interruption."

"Oh, okay."

"So, what do you want to do now?"

"I guess we could go to the gardens."

"Heh, sure. I haven't been there in ages."

Shadow and Twilight walked over to the gardens. The array of colours and smells was overwhelming. The statues too, there was a manticore, a statue of Celestia herself and some discombobulated, mixture of animals.

"That things pretty weird."

"I know I haven't read about it in my books yet and it looks SO interesting! I really want to learn about it."

"Eh, don't know if I'd be interesting in learning about something like that, or even learning at all."

Twilight looked up at Shadow, "Do you not like learning?"

Shadow tapped his head, "Never really had the brain for it."

Twilight giggled, "I love learning!"

"Yeah, I can tell."

The sun was starting to set and Shadow looked down to Twilight, "Looks like its getting late, we should probably go in. Get something to eat and later hit the hay."

Twilight looked at him curiously, "Why would we hit hay?"

"It's a metafore for going to sleep."

"Oh, I never read that!"

"Wouldn't imagine it to be something in a book."

"Oh."

"Well, lets head in now."

Shadow and Twilight walked into the castle, after eating a long meal of many gourmet foods they waited for the day to end and went to bed, or 'Hit the Hay.'

"The Dump"

It had been two and a half weeks since Shadow Rave had arrived at the Castle, Celestia was returning from her trip within the next day and Twilight was still learning. Shadow was currently was strolling through the gardens, still amazed by its beauty. There were Blue Butterfly Bushes, Reed orchids (I just searched "Tropical plants" in google. Yes, I know. Sad, very sad.) and much, much more. He was looking at a small, red and little peculiar little plant. The plant was also decorated with assorted yellow clumps all over.

It when Shadow was done smell this flower, and an odd smell it was, a smale and beige coloured mail mare came by, her mane covered by the blue hat. The mare walked over to Shadow with a questioning look,

"Hey, I'm looking for somepony named..." The mare looked at the letter she was holding, "Ah, um, a pony named Shadow Rave."

That's me."

"Oh, well, here. Message from Cloudsdale."

"Oh, thanks. Who's it from might I ask."

"Spit.. Spitfire! Oh, I'm such a huge fan! How do you know her?"

"I DJ for the team."

"Uh, uh. Seriously?"

"...Yes."

"CAN I PLEASE HAVE AN AUTOGRAPH!"

"If you have a pen and paper, I guess." Shadow was somewhat creeped out...

"Oh! Yeah, yeah, yeah!" The mare looked at her pocket and grabbed a pen and paper with her mouth, she looked at Shadow Rave and mumbled, "Here." Through her full mouth.

"Thanks." Shadow put the paper on his hoof and kept the pen in his mouth. Shadow thought for a moment, this was his first autograph, "Eh, whats your name?"

"Eh, it's Package Passer."

"Ok."

Shadow picked the pen back up and scribbled a little not on the paper,

Hey, Package Passer. Have a good day, Shadow Rave

"Here."

"OHMIGOSHOHMIGOSH THANK YOU."

"No problem." Shadow kept his confusion inside him, it's not every day some random pony starts freaking out over his name on a piece of paper. Shadow then thought what his teachers would be like after he handed in his assignments. Shadow sniggered.

"Did you laugh?" The mail mare looked at Shadow.

Shadow looked at her, "Oh yeah, just something funny I thought of."

"Oh, okay! Bye!" The Mail Mare happily trotted off and Shadow looked at his new note.

Dear Shadow,

Heard you're in the castle, pretty nice. But anyways, we have a show coming up in about three days. It is in Canterlot so you won't have to come back but just a bit of a warning. There should be a stallion coming by for setup within the next day.

Spitfire.

"A Show? Okay, well, looks like I should go get my stuff for it." Shadow frowned from being interrupted in the middle of his walk. Once Shadow was in the castle he strolled up to his room to check his equipment. Along his way he passed Twilight,

"Hi, Shadow!"

"Huh?" Shadow looked around, and then down, "Oh, hey Twilight."

"What'cha doing?"

"Oh, I'm just getting some stuff for the Wonderbolts show."

"Then why do you look mad?"

"The mail mare who gave me the notice about the show interrupted me in the middle of my walk."

"Oh, sorry."

"It's fine, but I'll talk to you later. I gotta make sure my stuff is all good."

"Okay."

Shadow walked up to his room, which was on the fifth floor of the castle. Once in, Shadow walked up to his massive machine for his music. To the left of the machine were shelves containing records for Shadow's songs. Shadow ruffled his hoof through his records, "Okay, lets see, Power Glove, no. Yadda Yadda Yadda, Woo Boost, nah. Oh, here!" Shadow picked up a record labelled "Wonderbolts' theme."

Shadow placed the vinyl disc on the left section of the turn table, plugged in his headphones and pressed play. After the song ended Shadow made a quick comment to nopony in particular about how the song still sounded great.

Shadow got a pony from the castle to help him carry all his equipment from the castle to the stadium. Once they arrived Shadow set up as much equipment as he could, not having the knowledge of their usuale pony setting it all up.

"Okay, three days? I could go to Cloudsdale today and see Billy and Cloudy, I guess." Shadow turned to the pony, "Hey if I leave could you tell the Princess I'm gone for the day?"

"Yes, yes sure. My l--"

"Hey, don't call me that. Don't like sounding higher than others."

"Oh, okay."

Shadow trotted out of the coliseum and looked at a nearby map to see which direction Cloudsdale was in. After finding out that Cloudsdale was west Shadow took off at a reasonable pace, which should make him arrive in 2 hours on non stop flights, but their would be brakes.

Once he arrived, Shadow Rave took another 10 minutes to fly to the school. When Shadow arrived he instinctivelywent to Cloud and Flitter's room to check on Cloud. Shadow knocked on the door, "Hello?"

Cloud Chaser opened the door. "Oh hi Shadow!" Cloud jump hugged Shadow.

"Woah, hi."

"I thought you weren't coming back for another two weeks."

"Well, I had some time today, so I came to visit."

"That's so cool!"

"So, what do you wanna do?"

"How about we trot around and catch up?"

"But.. It's only been two and a half weeks."

"And?"

"Nevermind."

Cloud and Shadow went on a brisk pace around the school chatting on various topic.

"So, what was a cool experience when you were in Canterlot?"

"Umm... earlier today, the mail mare freaked out and asked for an autograph."

"Really? Cool!"

"Iee, um, I also met Princess Celestia's new select student."

"Really? Wow, she must be like thirty!"

"Um, no. She's six."

"What! Wow!"

"She's already mastered teleportation which is apparently pretty hard."

"Yeah, I bet."

"Um, excuse me I have to go to the bathroom." Shadow walked into a nearby bathroom (You get hyphens, not describing that Blegh.)

Once Shadow got out of the bathroom he saw Billy, Hoops and Dumb-Bell.

"Oh, hey gu--" Shadow realized something, if Cloud saw him addressing them it would be an instant breakup. But, where was Cloud?

"Shadow! Make them go away!" Shadow looked to where the voice came from. Right infront of Billy and the two others.

"Oh shitttt."

"Wait, Shadow you know this idiot?"

"Huh? Well...."

Cloud Chaser stood up, "Are you telling me, you know these three?"

"Well.... You see I...." Shadow sighed, "Yeah, I do know them, and they're my only friends around here besides you and Firefly."

Cloud started to look aggravated, "Do you know that these three do to me?"

"Sorta."

"What do you mean 'Sorta?"

"I just know they call you names."

"Oh well they do much more than that!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"Yeah? Well it doesn't matter now! We're done!"

"W-what? Come on, Cloud, please?"

"No, we're through. Goodbye." Cloud flew off, looking to be on the verge of tears.

Billy looked to Shadow, "Dude, If we'd have known that you knew her..."

Shadow, too, was about to cry, "It's fine, you couldn't have known."

"Dude, we'll stop bullying her, but just try and get her back yeah?"

"Sure, I'll try." Shadow flew off.

Just then, Firefly came into the scene. Firefly looked at Shadow, "What's wrong with him?"

"He just got dumped by his marefriend."

"What?"

"Yeah, she was Cloud Chaser."

"Wow, that must've been awkward for you guys."

"You have no idea."

Trying to get the old one, gets a new one (I suck with titles)

Shadow Rave was frantically flying down the hallways of the Cloudsdale school, trying to catch up with his now ex-marefriend. Shadow approached Cloud Chaser and Flitter's door and banged on the door, hoping for somepony to open it.

"Cloud? Are you in there? Please open it!"

"No Shadow, go away!"

"I... please?"

"NO!"

"P-Please Cloud, I really like you!"

"But! You are friends with three ponies who make it hard for me to smile."

"But, besides you and Firefly, they're my ONLY friends."

"Just go away Shadow." Cloud Chaser began to bring her tone down to a sad mumble.

"I'm sorry." Shadow began to trot away.

Shadow Rave slowly and sadly trotted into his room and slumped onto his bed. With the light off Shadow tried to sleep to keep his mind off the subject of Cloud Chaser. But it wasn't working, Shadow was trying to fall asleep for three hours, its was now nine o'clock and Shadow decided to go for a walk.

On the way, Shadow eventually exited the dorm building. The clouds were somewhat damp this evening, signalling that is was raining below the floating city. Ironic, crappy weather for a crappy day. Shadow eventually, with soaking hooves, stumbled onto a bench and sat down. Sitting out there, away from most other ponies, especially Cloud Chaser, finally brought some peace to Shadow. Nothing was out here to bring his mood down and nothing was out here to hurt him. Almost perfect.

Shadow heard a small 'POMF' and looked behind him, "Hello?"

"Oh, hey Shadow." A pink pony walked into Shadow's sight.

"Hi Firefly."

"I heard about what happened and tried to find you."

"Oh, well you did."

Firefly sat down next to Shadow, "So, how long were you and Cloud together?"

"About, one and a half months maybe?"

"That's pretty good for a first relationship."

"What, how would you know?"

"I've been in one or two."

"Oh."

"So, let's get your mind off Cloud. What do you wanna talk about?"

"Anything, nothing, I don't care."

"Come on, there must be something you wanna talk about."

Shadow turned to look at Firefly, "No, there is nothing I wanna talk about."

"Well then tell what it's like working with the Wonderbolts."

"Fun."

"Come on Shadow, there must be something special about it."

"Well, showing my music to the world is pretty cool."

"What kind of songs do you make?"

"I make alot, mostly ponystep and some rock, and sometimes electronic."

"Oh, really? I really like electronic."

"It's fun to make it, because of how happy it is, but I personally like ponystep more."

"Well, how about we go back to campus and you show me some of your songs?"

"Sure, I guess."

Firefly and Shadow returned to campus and went ot Shadow and Billy's room. Shadow set up his Ponystep machine, pulled a few records and plugged in a double headphone jack,

"I have an extra pair of headphones." Shadow grabbed a small case from a shelf, and opened it showing a flashy, bulky and black pair of headphones, "They're one of the best models in Equestria, I personally LOVE them."

"Wow, I thnk this is the DR-Z56 model right?"

"Nah, it's the DR-Z57, bit newer, bit better."

Firefly smirked, she was getting Shadow's mind off Cloud Chaser, "So, what electronic songs do you have?"

"Take a pic." Shadow Rave displayed a few records. Firefly looked through the titles, "Wow, that's quite a bit of songs."

"Trust me, I make quite a bit of songs." Shadow explained. Firefly looked at the shelf full of records, "I can see. Anyway, I'll choose.... that song."

"Wow, I haven't listened to this song in a while."

Shadow picked up the record, placed it on the machine and pressed play.

After the song ended Firefly looked up to Shadow Rave, "Wow, holy Celestia, that was AMAZING."

"I get it from my cutie mark." Shadow wagged his back

"And you must be good to have worked for two world's best flight teams huh?"

"I try not to put myself above others but, yeah I guess."

Firefly thought for a moment, think of another way to keep Cloud Chaser "away"

"You know, we haven't really hung out that much, so why don't you tell me about yourself?"

"Eer, I don't really like talking about my past." Shadow's ears went back, and his eyes went down.

"Really? I'm quite interested." Firefly insisted on hearing it

"Umm...."

"Please?" Firefly put on a "cat eyes" face.

...."Fine, long story short, for about six years, I was seriously beaten by my parents... then I ran away and got fostered by Princess Celestia. She introduced me to the Captain of the Blue wings, Thunder Twister, and I played for them. Then I came here, the Wonderbolts beat the Blue Wings in a Flight fight and now I play for them."

"You were beaten?"

"Yeah... That's why I don't like talking about my past."

"Oh, I had known..."

"But you didn't. Don't worry, I am a forgiving pony... for the most part."

"What do you mean 'For the most part'?"

"Sometimes I get a little to angry to forgive easily. But not that often."

"oh, okay that's... good?"

"Yeah, I guess." Shadow laughed a little.

"You know Shadow, there's something that I've been telling to tell you."

"Yeah? What is it?"

"Well, for quite a while now, I've had a bit of a... crush on you."

Shadow widened his eyes. "Oh, I... um."

"Come on, it's just a crush. Didn't really expect more did you?" Firefly joked

"Yeah, I guess not."

"Well?"

"Well what?"

"You you wanna go out?"

"Oh, don't you think it's a bit quick?"

"Huh?"

"Well just, I broke up with Cloud Chaser today..."

"I can take your mind off her, I'm a cool pony." Firefly put on a 'cat smile'

"Yeah, yeah sure. Besides, your pretty cute."

"Hehe, thanks."

Shadow looked at the time, "Oh shit, I got a massive test tomorrow. Should probably hit the hay."

"Ah, well alright. Seeya tomorrow." Firefly kissed Shadow Rave and left.

After Firefly left, Shadow let his wingboner expand and crawled into bed wide eyed thinking about the day's events.

Shadow Rave

Twenty three years ago

“Remember just put on an act for the doctor, then we can figure this mess out in a week or so!” Night Light told his wife, Flowing River. This was Flowing River's ninth month of pregnancy and to tell you, Neither Night Light or Flowing River were happy when they found out she was. They were currently in a carriage headed towards the Manehatten Hospital. Flowing River Nodded at the instructions her husband had given him. The night before sent a letter, with his unicorn magic, to the hospital that their baby was due any day so the hospital was expecting them. The carriage came to a stop as the drivers parked outside the hospital, one of the drivers ran to the hospital to retrieve a wheelchair only to come out in the next thirty seconds with a nurse and a wheelchair. Night Light carried his beloved out the carriage and sat her down in the chair and pushed her inside as Flowing River held her raging stomach.

The nurse at the front counter instantly knew who the two ponies were when they ran in, and called for a doctor. The Doctor was there in a minute and brought Flowing River to a room to perform the operation. Three more nurses entered, one of them turned towards Night Light “Im sorry sir, but you have to leave.”

“But She's my wife!”

“Sir everypony says that but you still have to leave, we'll call you back soon.”

“I don't fucking care, let me stay by my wife!”

“Security we have a problem here!” about thirty seconds later two security guards came in and used their magic to calm down and hypnotize Night Light. They took him out of the room and sat him down on a bench and waited until the operation was complete.

--- 2 hours later---

A pink coloured nurse entered the room and said “Mr... Night Light. Are you ready?”

“Hmm? Oh yes, i am.” The nurse led Night Light to where they had brought Flowing River to find that Flowing River had an “It's finally over” kind of expression. When Night Light layed eyes upon what his wife was holding, a male foal. The sight of the little creature enraged him, he knew that's what his wife was thinking. They couldn't show their emotions in front of the staff “So, Mr and Mrs Light what are you going to name your new foal?” Flowing River had a thinking look on until she said “Shadow Rave.”

“Quite a nice name, you may check out now if you want.”

“I would like too.”

Flowing River was once again loaded onto a wheelchair and pushed by her husband, checked out by her husband and loaded into the carriage by her husband “So, What are we really gonna name him?” Night Light asked once they were in the carriage “Useless.”
