//-------------------------------------------------------// Shield Of Stars -by Lost Legend- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A bit too dark //-------------------------------------------------------// A bit too dark I walk through the everfree forest; every sound makes me jump. Even the moon's bright beams do not reach past the thick canopy of trees.  'Come on Moonbeam, just find the flower and get the heck outta here!' I think, my body is stiff and nervous. Out Of nowhere a stick appears and I trip "BUCK!!" I shout as hot needles of pain shoot through my wing and my lamp shatters; leaving me to face the dark woods. I sit up and see my wing in an excruciatingly horrific position; also stinks worse than the cupcakes Applejack made when she was exhausted. I lean forward to smell my throbbing wing angin 'I showered this morning right?' My thought is interrupted by a rustle in the nearby bushes. I freeze as the stink grows even more potent. I stare into the darkness and think, 'What made that sound? What is that smell?! Wait, that's not my wing... it smells like... TIMBERWOLF!!!!' I am in for an unpleasant surprise. The huge wooden wolves emerge from the shrubs and growl. I leap up ignoring the sharp pain in my wing. That... was a bad move. The timberwolves; conflicted by my sudden movements lunge at me. "HELP!!!" My voice echoes throughout the forest as the wolves start to tear me to pieces. I struggle to get free from the splintery grip of the timberwolf's jaw but only succeed to get squeezed about twice as hard.  Desprate, I buck like a mad mare hoping to smack my attacker. *CRACK* I am rewarded with the sound of wood breaking as mt hoof hits its target. The wolf shatters and I whip around just in time to face the next. I leap and with one skillful slap; sent the wolf to pieces. My instinct tells me to duck so I obey. And just in time too, a wolf of wood jumps right over me and smashes against a rock. I turn tails to find five more waiting for me.I back up against a tree; there are too many! My eyes dart desperately around until they land upon a large log. I inch towards it till my hoof lands on its rough bark. I slowly bend down and pick it up. Suddenly the wolves leap in unison; I swing the stick and run. The forest is a lot more brutal  than I remember; stick scratch and slap me and bugs sting and bite. The floor is no longer soft grass, but rocky hard dirt that scrapes my sensitive hooves. Cold sweat pours down... or is that blood... I can't tell! My heart jumps with joy as I see a clearing and I run faster than I knew I could. 'One hundred feet... seventy five feet...' my body begins to shut down 'thirty feet...twenty...ten, nine, eight, seven six five...' fall. I fall flat on my face and I let out a short, sharp yelp of pain. I get up wearily but fail. Instead, I drag myself the rest of the way, 'four...three...two...'
