Chapters Fluttershy woke up with a gasp. A nightmare of poor Angel dying. She shook it off, realizing that Angel Bunny was right there next to her, sleeping as soundly as can be, on her bed. She rubbed her eyes for a second, before taking a deep breath. She slowly got out of bed, her tail being pulled. She knew it was Angel Bunny, every morning it was Angel Bunny. She told him what she always told him with a laugh. "I can't stay in bed all morning, look at the time it's 8:00 o'clock! I need to feed all of the other animals." She gestured to the clock.
She walked down the stairs and opened the door gracefully, sniffing the fresh morning air. She went back inside to grab all of the animal food, and went back out to begin her duties. She sang a song full of heart to the animals. She sat down field by her house as all of the animals circled around her. She gave them all food and sang beautifully to them. But when she finished, she realized her hunger as well.
She left to go inside to her kitchen, to find a beg Poptarts. She didn't care what it was that she was eating. When the Poptarts sprang up from the toaster, she grabbed them quickly and set them on a plate. She began eating calmly, before grabbing the paper to read the daily Ponyville news. Discord was given a field to spread his chaos, since he couldn't help at all to create so much chaos. Fluttershy laughed at it. Today was Tea Time Tuesday, which meant Discord was coming over in an hour. This went into Fluttershy's mind, making her gasp. She gulped down the rest of her Poptarts, before rushing to the bathroom to turn on the shower head.
Fluttershy stepped in wash hair. She cleaned herself off quickly, before turning the water off and putting the towel around her hair. She stepped in front of the mirror and began applying mascara to her eyes. This is the only thing she wears. She then pulled the towel off to dry her hair, and brush her teeth. She sighed when she was finished, happy with the way she presented herself. She walked upstairs to her closet. She found a simple green dress, which she had no idea why she felt the need to wear it, but continued pulling it over herself. When she heard a knock at the door, she rushed downstairs to open the door.
She found Discord waiting with flowers in his hand. He handed them to Fluttershy. "Oh, hello dear Fluttershy!" He said boomed with excitement. Fluttershy smiled.
"Thank you for the flowers, Discord. You seem quite happy today," Fluttershy said. Discord nodded quickly.
"Oh yes! I-" He stopped, then positioned himself so his arms weren't in the air. "I realized something. I'll tell you later. Anyway, let's um talk about something else, how about that tea," Discord suggested. Fluttershy laughed. Whatever secret he has, it was a good save, she thought. Then she gasped.
"Oh! The tea, I'm sorry Discord, I forgot, hear let me go get it ready, you go hang out for a bit, I-" Discord snapped his fingers.
"Already done, dear. Let's go outside, and enjoy the beautiful day," Discord said. He grabbed Fluttershy, and they teleported to a table out in Fluttershy's field. Fluttershy smiled. "Your welcome, Flutters," He said. She didn't know why, but Fluttershy's heart was beating faster.
"Thank you, Discord. I heard you have your own field now?" Fluttershy started. Discord nodded.
"Yes, it's quite exciting, tea?" He asked. Fluttershy nodded. He poured her and himself some, cucumber sandwiches popping up on both plates. Fluttershy leaned forward, resting her head on her hoof. "Anyway, i moved my entire residence there, it's wonderful, and ponies walk by, taking pictures. It seems I'm a national monument! Ha!" He laughed. Fluttershy giggled. Discord was always funny.
"I must ask, is that why you are so happy?" Fluttershy asked. Discord thought.
"Um... not exactly, no." He looked down at his plate, then smiled again. "How about you, Fluttershy, you dressed up fancy in that dress."
Fluttershy blushed. "Oh I don't know. I just felt I had to wear it. You are one of my best friends, I thought I'd present myself nicely to you," She explained. Discord laughed.
"Thank you, Fluttershy. I never knew I was your best friend... I-I..." He stuttered. Fluttershy shushed him.
"It's okay, I just thought that it's time to take you as one. You are very kind to me," She said. Discords face was touched, and quite happy. Fluttersy's heart jumped up, Flutterhsy clueless to why. She laughed at his expression, and couldn't shake off the certain feeling in her chest. Discord looked at Fluttershy in way that let Fluttershy know what this feeling was. It was love.
Discord chuckled. "What?" He asked. Fluttershy snapped out of thought.
"Oh! Sorry, lost in... thought.. you.." She trailed off. Discord laughed.
"Well, Fluttershy, I've decided that if you and I are best friends I could... tell you a secret right?" He asked, gulping down the rest of his tea. Fluttershy nodded, finishing her plate cucumber sandwiches and fruit. "You... you won't tell anyone?" Discord asked. He fidgeted with it tea cup. Fluttershy nodded, her hair was blowing in the wind. Discord huffed. He leaned closer to the table.
"I love Celestia," He told Fluttershy. his words pierced Fluttershy's heart. She couldn't breath. She was angry at Discord, for not returning her feelings, yet she was happy for him. He loved her, plus, Fluttershy knew that Discord was way out of her league. but Fluttershy used all of her strength not to tear up and fall apart in front of Discord. Discord saw her disappointment.
"Oh, I know it's quite sudden and... what do you think I should do?" He asked. Fluttershy opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out, only a sad squeak. Fluttershy closed her mouth and gulped.
"I...I-I... w-would tell...h-her," She barely got it out. Discord smiled and hugged Fluttershy, this made her feel good, but then it made her feel terrible, since she knew it was only a friendly hug.
"Thank you! If you excuse me I have to go," He told her, putting Fluttershy down. He snapped his fingers and vanished. Fluttershy sat on the grass, and burst into tears.
Author's Note
Fluttershy cried in the grass for as long as her body could produce tears. She loved him. She loved him more than anything. She kept staring at the table, waiting for it to do something like Discord's magic would make it. Then she eventually kicked it, and it poofed away. That's something she learned about his magic. If he didn't care about it or want it there, all she had to do was kick it.
Fluttershy moved and got up, slowly heading towards her cottage. She saw the sun going down quickly, probably so Celestia could be with Discord all night and... Fluttershy looked away. She saw Pinkie coming up to her cottage with a cart. That's right, Fluttershy ordered a carrot cake for Angel since he hasn't caused much trouble lately.
Fluttershy sped up and entered her home through the back door. She heard a knock and quickly race to the door, opening it quickly so she could grab the cake, and go back to sulking. Fluttershy sighs when she see's Pinkie's bright face, it actually comforts her a bit. "Hi, Pinkie," Fluttershy says. She's not in a hurry anymore. Fluttershy takes the cake and thanks Pinkie. "It's for Angel, he said he wanted carrot cake so... anyway, how are you doing?" Angel pops up from behind Fluttershy and grabs the cake. Pinkie's face becomes angry.
"Hey! You don't just steal cake!" Pinkie says. Fluttershy waves it off. She huffs, then makes her face bright again. "I'm doing great, Flutters! You're actually my last delivery for the day!" Pinkie says cheerfully.
"Good for you. I'm sure your quite tired. I heard that all day you've been delivering," Fluttershy says. Pinkie nods, then yawns. They exchange goodbyes before Fluttershy closes the door behind her and falls on the floor. "Back to sulking," She mutters.
Fluttershy stands up and almost heads back upstairs, but stops herself. What if I tell someone? She asks herself. What if I tell Twilight? She's in a relationship, maybe she can listen, give me advise. She then rethinks it. no, all I can do is tell her... she won't understand, this hasn't happened before. Fluttershy bites her cheek. Okay, I guess I'll go tell her. But she can't possibly help.

Fluttershy nods to the guards as they open the doors for her. They know that she is no threat, she's only Fluttershy. She walks in, hears the doors close behind her, and see's a Twilight with a small hump on her stomach. Twilight looks terribly tired. "Hi, Fluttershy," Twilight says. Fluttershy looks down.
"Hi, Twilight," Fluttershy says. "You look awfully tired. Are you okay?"
"Oh, please, Fluttershy! I'm fine, just a little... well, tired. This foal is taking a bit of my energy, but I'm fine. Nothing I can't handle. What about you? You look like you've been... crying. Also, why come to my castle at night?" Twilight asks. Fluttershy broke into tears. she couldn't help it. Twilight gasps. She comes over to Fluttershy to comfort her. "Oh! Fluttershy what is it? What happened?" Twilight wraps her arm around Fluttershy. Fluttershy sits down and leans in Twilight.
"I'm... so...sorry, Twilight!" Fluttershy cried between sobs. "It's just... I... he..." The thought made Flutterhsy cry even harder. Twilight rubs her hoof on Fluttershy's back.
"Oh, Fluttershy... Please, tell me what it is... I... I can help," Twilight comforts. Fluttershy looks up at Twilight with red eyes.
"Twilight... He... Discord... h-he-he.... Oh Stars!" Fluttershy cries. Twilight gasps.
"Discord! I knew he would do something bad! What did he do, Fluttershy? It looks like he traumatized you!" Twilight exclaims. Fluttershy looks up at Twilight.
"It-it wasn't his fault!" Fluttershy explains. "It was... nopony's fault! Nopony ever did anything... it's just... I LOVE DISCORD!" Fluttershy booms. Twilight freezes in shock. Fluttershy looks away, pulling Twilight's hoof off of her. "I'm sorry-"
"Y-You're fine... I-I am surprised, is all. What's wrong with you loving Discord? Oh wait, I take that back... he's Discord... now I understand, okay, I'm sorry..." Twilight trails off. Fluttershy shakes her head.
"No, Twilight. The problem is that he doesn't love me. He loves Celestia. *Sniffle* H-he told me so. I told him to go tell her and I guess now they are probably a thing... or... whatever. I shouldn't have come," Fluttershy explains. Twilight shakes her head.
"Fluttershy, I don't know if I can, but I will try to help. Listen, you're a great pony, and if Discord doesn't see that, then maybe he's not the one. Meet other ponies, say yes to the love letters," Twilight suggests. Fluttershy looks up.
"How do you know about the love letters I get from colts?" Fluttershy asks. Twilight bites her lip.
"I... can't help but sort you mail when I stay over at your house. You know I have OCD. Your mail pile is just so annoying! It's a pile and of course, I see who it's from, and they draw hearts. Colts draw hearts for you... anyway, let's not talk about that. You should meet some colts, have a little fun with it.

Ha! Put in Pinkie senseless!
Fluttershy nervously brushes her hair. She stares at herself in the mirror. She repeats the same words in her head. I'll be fine. just a date. Fluttershy said yes to one of the love letters, now she's ready for the date... or, almost ready. Fluttershy tries to shake her nerves away, but she can't. She also can't shake away the feeling that this is wrong. That she can't-shouldn't do this.
A knock interrupts Fluttershy from her thoughts. She puts down the brush and sighs. "Here goes..."
She opens the door to a red colt. Fluttershy gasps. "OH MY- I-I mean... your the colt?" Fluttershy asks. Big Macintosh nods and smiles brightly.
"Eeyup!" Big Mac replies. Fluttershy smiles at him. He is rather hansom, and he is a very sweet colt... no, Flutttershy has to see where this is going, you don't know a colt before you get to really know them. Fluttershy sighs.
"Um... Okay, you get to choose where are we going," Fluttershy says. Big Macintosh smiles even brighter.
"Ah already have it planned out," He says. Fluttershy nods, surprised to hear him say more than just 'eeyup' or 'nope' or in the Apple Bloom cousin voice. It's quite different than what Fluttershy's used to. Big Mac offers an arm, and Fluttershy takes it. He closes the door behind her, and leads her away from the cottage. They had an un-awkward silence while they walked.
When Fluttershy realizes the place they're going is Sweet Apple Acres she becomes happier; she doesn't have to in front of everyone, with eveyone talking about how Fluttershy and Big Mac are a thing. Well, it will get around eventually, but by the time it will, everyone will already know that Fluttershy and Big Mac aren't a thing. Well, Fluttershy hopes this. She didn't really want to be a thing with Big Mac, he's nice and all, but she just doesn't want this. She's doing this more for Twilight than anything else. Fluttershy smiles at this thought. She can kindly say no about it once the date is over, and they won't ever speak of it again. Fluttershy liked this plan-
"Fluttershy?" Fluttershy jumped.
"Oh, Big Mac, um... sorry, lost in thought," Fluttershy says. Big Mac nods.
"Well, we're here. Have a seat," Big Mac says. Fluttershy blushes. She looks at the what is set up and gasps. A blanket, with a picnic basket open. The basket has wine and panini's in it. A candle it lit. "Wanted to keep it simple."
"Big Mac this is wonderful," Fluttershy replies. Big Mac nods. Fluttershy sits on the blanket while Big Mac follows. Big Mac takes out two glasses from the basket and pours wine in them. Fluttershy thanks him.
"So, you hungry?" Big Mac asks. Fluttershy nods. Realizing how hungry she actually was. "Here," He hands her a panini.
"So... how's your family?" Fluttershy asks. Big Mac laughs.
"Fine, Fluttershy, they are great... um, how's yours?" Big Mac asks. Fluttershy sighs.
"Dead..." She mumbles. Big Mac's eyes widen, then he shakes his head.
"Um... what did you say? Ah couldn't hear you," Big Mac tries. Flutttershy sighs again.
"I'm an orphan. I don't have a family, my dad left my mother when they found out that she was pregnant and she died in child birth," Fluttershy explains. Big Mac rubs his neck. "I found out who he was, then found out he burnt in a fire when I was six."
"Eeyup... Ah-Ah'm sorry to here that. Um, different topic..." Big Mac sighs. "Ah didn't make the panini's? Eeyup, that's works."
Fluttershy laughs. "I love your choice of topic. Who made them?" Fluttershy asks. Big Mac thought for a moment.
"Ah don't actually know. Apple Bloom gave these to me and said they'd be good for the date. She heated them up before we got here," Big Mac explained. Fluttershy smiled. An awkward silence took over for a few minutes as they chewed their food.
"So-" They said at the same time.
"I-"
"We-"
"You-"
"Um..." Awkward again. They stop an just ate silently for a while. Each finished their panini's. Big Mac took maybe a small sip of wine, Flutterhy didn't have any at all of hers. They eventually stood up and started t walk towards Fluttershy's cottage. Silence then too.
When they got to Fluttershy's house, Big Mac started the conversation.
"Um, Fluttershy, Ah'm sorry, for tonight. Don't hate me but, Ah just don't think that tonight went well. I think that, it just wouldn't work." Fluttershy smiled.
"I actually agree. You're not a bad colt, but I don't think it would," Fluttershy says. Big Mac nods.
"Well, Bye," He says. Fluttershy waves goodbye.
"Bye." Fluttershy closes the door behind her and see's a mad Angel Bunny. "What's your problem?" Fluttershy asks. Then she winces. Discord comes flowing back.
"SWEET CELESTIA! WHEN WILL IT STOP!"
