Fighting the Cold of Tomorrow
Pinkie let out a harsh cough as she lay in bed. She had been stuck in the constrictive room for three days due to this cursed cold having decided to pretend to be the flu. Of course, everyone else would say that it was the flu, but she was certain that they lied. They had to be. Pinkie knew they wanted to try to make tomorrow easier on her. Make her plans fail. She could feel her blood boil as she thought, wishing for even mother nature to burn for what she had done.
It was while like this, pulling at her pillow, and trying to rip it apart with her bare hands, that the door opened. As the first seams broke apart and fluff began to show from Pinkie’s victim, a soft voice entered the room. “H-hi.”
Pinkie stopped, her heart frozen for a moment, before turning towards the voice and smiling at the bright red girl that stood there. She wondered for a moment why Fluttershy wasn’t her normal, pale self, when she looked down, and remembered that she had nothing on. She slipped back into her covers, hoping that the one she called beloved wouldn’t be passing out just yet. Now that she got a good chance to look at her visitor though, she went slack jawed, eyes wide as she simply stared.
Fluttershy pulled a strand of her own pink hair back, placing it behind her ear. Her other fingers grasped the edge of her pink sweater, pulling it down and trying to hide her plentiful thigh, exposed as nothing stretched over her legs. One of the long legs lifted up and gently tapped the door, closing it behind her. Coming closer, her face was entirely red, her large bosom swaying in the pink garment that was all that covered her. “S-so, I hear… hear you’ve been, um,”
Pinkie leapt up from her bed, now not caring about her own slender body, and smaller chest, showing itself, but only wanting to match her girlfriend’s courage. A yelp escaped Fluttershy, as Pinkie embraced her in a hug. However, before Fluttershy could wrap her own arms around the bouncy girl, Pinkie stepped back, coughing hard into the crook of her arm. “Sorry, but I know your parents would kill me if I got you sick.” Pinkie tapped her foot against the carpet, now putting an arm over her chest. She looked back at Fluttershy, her jubilation from earlier freeing over. “It’s um...” her hair then fell flat, looking down as she spoke again. “Why are you here Fluttershy?”
Fluttershy reached over, wrapping her fingers into Pinkie’s, tears coming down her face as she forced Pinkie to look back at her. “I… I came to be sick. I couldn’t,” she paused, shutting her eyes and trying not to cry herself, “I couldn’t let tomorrow happen without seeing you one more time.”
Pinkie glanced at their fingers, her hair still flat against her skull as she tried to process what was going on. Looking into Fluttershy’s eyes, she saw the tears that fought at the edges of them, and the trembling that overtook her body as the shy girl’s courage evaporated. Pinkie pushed down her other thoughts, and instead tackled Fluttershy into another hug, almost sending them both to the ground as Pinkie let out another cough. “Your parents will hate you for sneaking out like this.”
Fluttershy wrapped her arms around Pinkie, holding the shorter girl close as she squeaked out her words. “Th-they know. They understand.”
Pinkie looked into Fluttershy’s eyes, before lowering her hands, and touching the hem of the short sweater. “Do they know about this?”
Fluttershy let out a small squeal at the touch, and barely opened her mouth, before shaking her head. “I… I want this though, and… and to make you feel better, for all the times that you’ve done it for me.”
Pinkie thought her heart almost stopped, and yet, also broke at the same time. She opened her mouth, wanting to yell for joy, and scream in anguish. “Fluttershy… I want to but,” She stopped as Fluttershy increased her grip on the party girl.
“Can’t that be all it is for once? Please”
Pinkie opened her mouth to protest, but then simply began to laugh. “I never thought this would be how we did this. I… I always thought that I would be the one making the first move.”
Fluttershy glanced to the side, a small bit of red touching her cheeks as she gripped her arm. “I… I wouldn’t mind it if you d-d-”She swallowed hard, before shaking her head, and gripping the hem of the sweater. “You… you can make all the moves you want, but… but I want to give you my present first.”
“Present? I see two lovely orbs hiding underneath that, and I would very much so like to have those, especially when all I have are these.” She chuckled nervously, patting her flat chest as she tried desperately to calm her nerves by even a fraction.
Fluttershy shook her head as she slowly pulled it up, soon showing her smooth, soft stomach, and just the smallest bit of the underside of her breasts. “I… I made this sweater myself. T-to keep you warm while I can’t.”
Pinkie simply stood there for a few moments, before barely whispering, “Lay down.” She watched as Fluttershy did so, her plump, voluptuous breasts jiggling as they escaped the sweater that now was up to the shy girl’s chin. With Fluttershy like this, Pinkie could see everything. From the girl’s most private place, peeking out from between Fluttershy’s clenched legs, to her heaving bosom, it was all on display for Pinkie. However, so was the terror in her beloved’s eyes. Looking into those blue seas, Pinkie felt her heart shatter.
Slowly, the party girl slipped onto the bed, crawling over the other woman as Fluttershy’s heavy breaths filled the air. They locked eyes for a long moment, before Pinkie lowered herself, and pressed her lips gently against Fluttershy’s own. Their tongues briefly brushed against each other, before Pinkie pulled away, shaking her head as her hair flattened again. “I can’t. Not like this. Not knowing that I’ll be losing you.”
“P-plea-”
“No!” Pinkie slammed a hand into the sheets besides Fluttershy, tears now streaming down her face. “Under any other circumstance, I would ravage you. I would like nothing more than to make love to the girl who makes my party cannons explode, but I lose you tomorrow, and I just spent the last three days thinking that I wouldn’t even be able to say goodbye, so I just can’t!”
Fluttershy looked back up as Pinkie panted, watching as tears fell down upon her own face. She slowly moved her arms up, and pulled Pinkie in close, not trying for anything more. She knew she just wanted to be close to Pinkie, and had thought that this was the best way, but now, even thinking about what they had come so close to doing... hurt. This though, just cuddling, felt like exactly what she had been hoping for. “I...I’ll be allowed a computer. We… we can talk on skype and such.”
Pinkie glanced up, trying to force a smile on so she could match the positivity Fluttershy had, but was failing miserably. “It won’t be the same. I won’t be able to hold you.”
Fluttershy nodded, trying not to cry. Memories of all the nights Pinkie had spent taking care of her came to mind, and just as with her initial decision at the beginning of the evening, she knew she had to be strong for Pinkie now. “I know, but there is a college nearby. Once you graduate, you can go there, and see me at the clinic as often as you want.”
Pinkie shut her eyes, feeling the sweater graze her wrist as she shifted her weight. She glared at the pink fabric, and pulled it over Fluttershy’s exposed chest. “Why? Why does it have to get so cold during the winter? Why can’t you just be allowed to be happy, instead of fight some stupid disease? Why can’t a sweater be enough, instead of you moving?”
Fluttershy felt a tear fall down her face. “Pinkie… Pinkie, we’ve talked so many times about this. Can’t we just hold each other, just for tonight? One last time before I have to go?”
Pinkie opened her mouth to fight, but then let out a hard cough, trying hard not to spew it right into Fluttershy’s face. Looking at the rain that came down outside the window, barely visible against the night, she felt a chill run down her spine. Slowly, she shut her eyes, and nodded. “If you get sick from this though, I’m gonna come down and bop you on the head.”
Fluttershy smiled, feeling the energy begin to rush out of her body as she felt Pinkie’s arms around her. “I… I hope I get sick then.”
Both laughed a small bit, before becoming quiet, simply staring into the others eyes. Neither knows when they fell asleep, having lost complete track of time in that bed, kept warm by each other.

The two stood in front of the security terminal, watching as the large line moved like molasses. Not that Pinkie and Fluttershy minded. It meant more time together, before Pinkie had to slip out of the line, and finally say goodbye. The party girl’s arm was wrapped around the blushing, pink haired beauty, who had a suitcase rolling behind her.
Fluttershy’s parents were keeping a close eye on Pinkie, trying to make sure she didn’t try anything to make their daughter miss her flight. They’d already had to take one party cannon away, but knew the pink haired menace always had something up her sleeve. Pinkie’s own parents were watching from outside of the line, wishing they didn’t have to see this happen. They knew Pinkie would be destroyed, no matter how brave she acted now.
Pinkie was certain she wouldn’t be while she snuggled up to Fluttershy, earning a small yelp from. The pink sweater from last night now fit over Pinkie’s own body, even if it was a bit big, but it definitely did its job to keep her warm. She smiled up at her girlfriend, grinning ear from ear. “Well, I guess it’s now or never for my present to you, isn’t it?”
Fluttershy’s eyes widened for a moment, before she began to wave her hands in the air. “No, that’s not necessary at all Pinkie!”
Pinkie shook her head, reaching into her poof. “Nonsense. You gave me this lovely sweater last night, it’s only fair that I give you a going away present too. I only wish that I’d had more time.” Bringing her arms down, Pinkie grinned as a clock came out of her hair. It was a simple analogue clock, but instead of the numbers, there were pictures of the two of them, including one from their night last night.
Fluttershy took it, a blush coming over her face as she simply stared. “Pinkie, how did you-”
“I took my alarm clock at home, got it open, and super glue is your friend.” Pinkie grinned wide, before wrapping her arms around Fluttershy. “Let it be my way to say that while apart and staying warm, you have no reason to fear us drifting apart, because this,” tapping on the glass of the clock, “is a diagram of my head, and distance isn’t going to change that.”
A tear came down each of their cheeks, before their arms wrapped around the other. For almost a full minute, they clung to each other, before the idiot behind them told them to keep the line moving. Fluttershy wasn’t given enough time to react to Pinkie letting go, and pecking her lips, before the wild child slipped beneath the ropes, and ran for it.
Another tear came down Fluttershy’s face, before she began to sob into her mother’s arms as they crossed the security checkpoint.
