//-------------------------------------------------------// The Great Red Pony -by NoahBClark- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue A distant booming over the night sky of Equestria creates an eerie feel in Baltimare. Rain falls down drop by drop creating small little sounds as the water hits the roads. Mist covers the streets and the only visible things through the mist are the lights shining bright over the city's suburbs. Very few ponies trot the sidewalks of Baltimare during the night, they city itself is fine, peaceful just like any city in Equestria, but Baltimare just has that distinct "Something is wrong here" feeling. Lemondrop Sweet and Onyx Bolt have been together for 2 years and are having the time of there life in Baltimare on there honeymoon. But the two ponies had one too many drinks that night and without even thinking and taking a taxi decided to trot back to there hotel. The two ponies trotted along the dirt path towards there hotel, but the two ponies who were woozy began to lose balance and they found themselves walking through a alleyway. As the walk a pony watches them from above on the catwalk, His fur was dark red. His mane and tail were pure black and styled slickly. His wings were those of the devil himself, His eyes were bright red and his expression meant business. No smile, no raised eyebrow, just a stern face. He was thinking intently about the two ponies as they continued down the dark alleyway, The pony that watched the couple wasn't just anypony, He was The Great Red Pony, The most prolific Serial Killer in Equestria. Credited with over 20 murders, the EBI have been after him for over two years,  he is at the top of the 10 most wanted list. The two ponies continued to trot down the alleyway when they heard a loud cracking of glass behind them. They turned quickly around to see that nothing was there. Lemondrop turned around to knife edged into her neck. The Great Red Pony looked at her with deep anger as he held the knife handle in his mouth. Blood began to run down lemondrops neck and with a quick slash The Great Red Pony took the knife out of her neck. Lemondrop fell to the floor and an echo of her last breath was heard throughout the alleyway. Onyx Bolt only watched in horror as his soulmate died right in front of him. The Great Red Pony had now turned his attention to Onyx. Without thought Onyx ran to his hearts content until he tripped over himself. His leg was broken and The Great Red Pony was now just 10 feet away from him. The Great Red Pony put his two front hoofs into Onyx's eyes and began to push into his sockets. Lifting his hooves out left two black holes with no eyes to fill them. Onyx was in to much pain to scream in pain and instead made short burst of sound with his breath. The Great red Pony had the knife handle back in his mouth and was now ready to give the final blow. Onyx unable to run or scream for help just crawled across the ground in a last ditch effort to get away, hoping somepony was close to help him. But before he could take one last drag with his right front hoof his breath cut out, his heart stopped beating, and his brain shutdown for good.  A knife was stuck in his back penetrating his lower spine. He died slowly and painfully. The Great Red Pony had done what he needed to do to for fill his inner rage and in a matter of moments he ran off into the Baltimare night without a trace. Two dead ponies lay there in an alleyway, right in plain sight. __ Officer Colt White was doing his morning routine when he found the two ponies in the Alleyway, it was the most brutal and heinous crime he had ever witnessed. as he called for back only two words needed to come out of his mouth for the police to know what had happened. Colt White clicked the radio in and said "He has done it again" About 30 minutes later two black carriages strolled up into the Alleyway, each of them with the distinctive EBI logo that had become all to familiar in Baltimare these days. Most notably walking out was EBI Special Agent Ivory Justice, Who has lead the EBI Investigation on the murders by The Great Red Pony for nearly 1 and half years, Why only 1 and a half? Because the last lead investigator was the 15th victim to be killed by The Great Red Pony. "This is much more messier than the last kill, he must have been angry". "Ivory, We need to catch this killer before the next full moon, these killings are ruining public relations with the royal family, Princess Celestia has ordered that we catch this killer before the next full moon or else we are out of a job" Said Duke Bristle, the EBI Commissioner for Behavioral Sciences. "I'll get it done, but we need outside help, not from the EBI" said Ivory. "Than who Ivory?" said Duke Bristle with much confusion and annoyance. "Oh I know just the pony for the job". //-------------------------------------------------------// A Dark Proposal //-------------------------------------------------------// A Dark Proposal The sun rises over the horizon of Ponyville Equestria, the small but peaceful little town near the royal city of Canterlot. Waking up from her nice sleep is Rarity, who known by almost all the ponies in Ponyville as the #1 fashion designer in town. Her carousal boutique is the most sprawling business in the small town and it has been since it was first started. Rarity went of to the kitchen, lifting a bowl and the cereal box with her magic and poured the cereal into the bowl. She than poured in some milk and ready for breakfast. She didn't want anything special, she was busy today, like everyday. And she had no time to eat a nice meal. After she was done she went upstairs and began to create her usual orders, dresses, with her own personal touch. No matter how different the dress was from the original design everypony always loved the dresses she made anyway. And of course at no extra cost, her generosity was to strong to make the ponies pay for new and beautiful details she adds to there dresses. She was to generous not to make the dresses better in the first place. As she was sowing one of her finest dresses for one of the ponies in town, a loud knocking at her door shook her so much it threw off her nice neat track and she sowed right through a bit of fabric. Rarity was absolutely in a fit rage, even the slightest bit distraction unless it was from Sweetie Belle was enough to make her go off like a bomb. She stormed down the stairs, with the same ferocity in her eyes as when she was possessed by Discord not to long ago. Pulling the door open with great force she yelled at the two male ponies in front of her, "WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING AT MY HOME AT 8 IN THE MORNING!". She quickly calmed down as she looked at the two ponies in front of her, each of them wearing a black blazer and white collared shirt with a black tie. On there chest was a badge with the EBI logo on it. The two of them were special agents. Rarity quickly cried out in total shock, or anger now overtaken by fright "Oh officers what have I done!". The two male ponies on the other hand looked at the white colored unicorn with great confusion, both of them looking at each other wondering what in the hell had happened. "Uh, miss, you didn't do anything wrong" one of them said. "I didn't, than why could you possibly want to ask me anything" Rarity asked in confusion and annoyance. "We have a job offer for you, can we stepped inside." EBI!...JOB!...ME! oh this is the just the WORST POSSIBLE THING! Or is it? I mean the money involved must be divine, I could keep the business throughout the whole winter without a care. But I would than be so backed up on dresses to make for all the ponies. This is so hard I dont know what to do! Rarity thought to herself. However Rarity had been thinking for a good two minutes and the agents were getting impatient. "May we come in miss?" one of them said in a stern tone. Rarity quickly snapped out of her deep thought, "Oh, why of course darlings, heavens where are my manners" Rarity began to set up the table and the two agents walked in with a relief in there faces __ "So darlings...I mean officers, what can I do for you this lovely morning". "I'm EBI Special Agent Ivory Justice this is my partner, Agent Buttercup. We are the lead investigators for the The Great Red Pony investigation, I'm sure you have heard of him". "yes I read the paper report this morning, tragic, but I'm confused, what do you want with me?" Rarity asks in confusion. "Well we looked into your investigation of the Wonderbolts incident and were well more than impressed. We were amazed. and the EBI is looking for outside help, private investigators. And we think you are perfect for the job." Ivory said. "Well Agent Ivory I am extremely grateful that you have asked me to do this but i dont know if this is really my thing, I mean..." Before Rarity could finish her sentence some images were flashed in front of her. Crime scene photos, One pony had a pole running straight through his head. Another had her mane pulled off her head, the floor covered in blood. Rarity pulled over a trash can and puked into it. "Those are terrible, and he did all that!" rarity said with a sickly scream. "Afraid so, look Rarity, here is the deal, This killer kills every full moon. That means that we have a little more that 3 weeks before this monster kills another, are you in or not?". Rarity thought long and hard about this, but after seeing those photos again, she told herself she cant let that happen to another pony ever again. "I'm in, when do we start?" __ Rarity, Ivory and Buttercup were about to enter the car when a dash of rainbow struck Buttercup in the head knocking her out cold. "GET DOWN RARITY!" Ivory yelled as he readied his horn. The pony with Rainbow colored hair landed in front of him and Ivory got ready to fire. "WAIT!" Rarity yelled and ran out of cover, "Rainbow Dash! What on earth have you done!" Rarity said to Rainbow Dash with an angry tone. "I'm not letting them take you to jail, you did nothing wrong!" Rainbow Dash yelled back. "Darling, they aren't arresting me, I am helping them with a case!" Rarity said. Rainbow Dash now in shock pleaded to Ivory for forgiveness. "I'm going to let this one slide, but if my partner or myself get knocked out again you will be arrest on assault charges!" Ivory said to Dash. Rarity with an annoyed look in her face stepped into the carriage and they drove off, there destination? The EBI Behavioral Sciences Headquarters in Baltimare Equestria.
