//-------------------------------------------------------// Gone In 10 Seconds -by Wiz Ahmad- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Another Day at School //-------------------------------------------------------// Another Day at School Sunset Shimmer hopped off the bus and walked down the pathway toward the entrance of Canterlot High. It had been quite a while since her reformation and the big event of the Friendship Games. Since then the Wondercolts statue in the front yard had been rebuilt and Twilight had joined Sunset and her best friends at Canterlot High. To support herself and her friends, Sunset Shimmer had gotten a new job in the city as a biologist. Pinkie Pie was a baker, Rarity was a fashion designer/seamstress/businesswoman, and Applejack was a cow herder. “Hi everybody!” she called out, carrying a backpack full of books and other equipment. “Any news?” “Well, I’ve just composed a new rock song,” Rainbow Dash announced, quietly strumming her electric guitar. “I’ve got a great idea for a party this weekend!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed, jumping with excitement. “Um, the animal shelter’s going great, although it could do with some upgrades and renovation,” said Fluttershy, who was feeding a carrot to Angel. “Thanks,” Sunset Shimmer replied, sitting down by the statue’s base and opening her bag. She pulled out her personal journal, lunch (a wrapped hamburger and a bottle of juice), and a bunch of spare guitar strings for Rainbow Dash (who often strummed so hard they often broke). As she set down her bag, an interesting thick sheet of paper rolled out, and Fluttershy noticed. “What’s this, Sunset Shimmer?” she asked, holding up the paper. It had a picture of a bunch of broken cars and a promotional poster on it, along with some contact info and a few other bits of fine printed text. “Uh, that’s just…” Sunset Shimmer blushed and sighed. “Since I got my new job, I decided I needed a better life…you know, with a small quiet home, my little personal workspace and stuff. And I thought a car would be nice to have. Back when I was Princess Celestia’s student, I was more into hands-on work rather than pure, heavy studying. So I thought, instead of getting a brand new car, find a cheap old one and restore it.” “I see,” Rarity replied. “But wouldn’t that be more expensive? You’d need all the fabric, the parts, a new engine, new seats, a new—” “—Not necessarily,” Sunset Shimmer interrupted. “The car culture is quite a large place, so it should be easy to find some good guys in the business who can give out good bangs for bucks. You guys saw what a few students drove back at Crystal Prep, remember!” “Yeah,” Applejack said flatly, rolling her eyes. “Now come on, y’all, classes are about to start.” Sunset Shimmer quickly packed all of her items back into her bag, stopping only once to look at the paper, which was actually a cheap flyer from the owner of the city junkyard. He had agreed to inform her of any classic cars which were salvageable and were in restoration condition. However, her informed decision would be one that later bring about amazing aid, as well as a whole world of issues, worries, and complications.
