Faust's arrival and her subsequent introduction to the little ponies that lived on the third rock in that solar system brought about a glorious Golden Age of expansion and magitechnical wonders never before witnessed in the history of ponykind. Ponies colonized every planet in the system, and made preparations for interstellar expansion. Unfortunately, it was not to be.

From the beyond came a terrible and ravenous Darkness, intent on devouring all of ponykind. Just when all seemed to be lost, Faust struck down the Darkness and saved what was left of Pony Kind. Ponies would live to fight another day, but the cost had been terrible. Faust descended into a constant state of near death while ponykind struggled to rebuild from the wreckage.

More than a thousand years have past and the children of the darkness are stirring. Ponykind's survival rests upon the withers of a select few, the guardians. Stallions and mares forged in Faust's light to do battle with the Darkness.

This is the story of a freshly minted guardian as he seeks to discover his destiny.
