A Visit to Appleloosa

It was a dark night, the stars above silently giving ponies feelings of comfort and safety. Then, out of the blue in the shadow of Appleloosa’s desert sand, came the hoofsteps of ponies. They were of different coloration, clothing and hairstyle, but what they all had in common were the many weapons they held with magic. Smiling to themselves the horrendous things they were about to do. Dragging their hooves to the ground in desperation. Breathing heavily at the urge they were putting off for so long. Nothing would be getting in their way. There was no need for fancy magic that would tax them all. No, just hard earned brutality in their wake.

Out from the large group of Unicorns, came Twilight Sparkle with a ceremonial horn made from bone. It truly was a night for pain.

Up from the large rock she climbed and stood on, she blew the horn and the beasts were released to the defenseless town of Appleloosa. Still slumbering in their beds, mares and stallions along with the foals sleeping near. Then, with a burst through the door, a horde of unicorns ran in. The Earth Ponies residing within their homes stood up from the noise before before being brutalized by groups of unicorns. Teeth smashed, heads broken open with brains lobbing into the Appleloosan street from above. Blood dripping as screams of Earth Ponies as they are agonizingly killed and murdered.

Not even the foals were safe, as their cute little heads slept in. No matter the number, the Unicorns slit their throats and decapitated the heads into the floor. Unicorns raping the bodies of any big or little corpse they could get on. No semblance of sanity would be surviving this night.

From a home so close, a scream so loud woke a certain pony near. Braeburn stood out with a tired sigh, the sound of screaming getting ever higher.

“What in sam hell!?”, another scream and then, a pony cutdown right before his eyes. The force of the decapitation of that ponies blood hit the wall of his window. He scurried out of the bed and opened the door to the carnage that was outside.

Unicorns were dragging Appleloosan citizens out of their homes. Executing them without a word or notice. Their bodies broken and their lives forfeit as if they were simple animals. Some ponies crawling with severe injuries before being met with a swift death. Organs spilled like party favors over the town. There was no discrimination, not even an idea of mercy. The sight was horrifying to watch, Braeburn couldn’t believe his own eyes. He could only watch frozen at the massacre before him. The first question that entered his mind here in Appleloosa was, what could he do? They had no weapons or need for defending themselves. There was only one choice.

Run.

Braeburn sprinted to the opposite direction to where all the Unicorns were coming from. He continued chasing safety before he was levitated up into the air. There was no possibility of movement and he stood absolutely still.

He searched with his eyes and found a certain Twilight Sparkle, airborne and watching the death below with interest.

“Twilight!? What is going on here!? Do something!!”

She would ignore his cries and continue watching her fellow unicorns below.

Braeburn could only watch, defenseless and totally incapacitated.

“I’m sorry, Braeburn. But this has to happen. It is tradition after all.” She said with a smile.

Braeburn tried with all his Earth Pony might to break through the barrier like magic that held him. But, it was no use, Twilight’s power was too great.

“Why are you doing this!?” he said desperately, eyes agape in terror.

Twilight scratched her head and shrugged her arms.

“I might as well humor you, you see… Unicorns are evil creatures to be honest, you might as well call us “Demons” for all we know.” she scratched her nose as a pony below her was speared. The blood flew so far, it hit her face. Twilight giggled at the blood, like it was some type of game.

“We used to be monstrous killers, before taking over Equestria of course. You could say it’s in our nature, but recently we’ve been trying to become more civilized about it”

Twilight’s iris suddenly disappeared, only clear color was in her socket. She started laughing uncontrollably, as the laughter below met with her own. Her sudden transformation caused her to lose focus. The magic dematerialized and Braeburn fell screaming.

He landed with a thud and his pelvis cracked, making him delirious. All around him, he could see the faces of Unicorns. They were all just like Twilight’s, smiling, vacant and irisless.

Twilight emerged from the hungry looking monsters and looked down on Braeburn.

heh, hee hee hee, If not you, then we’d kill each other. Sorry Braeburn, goodbye.”

She lifted up her hoof, and slammed it down on Braeburn’s head. It crushed it easily, blood seeping into the Appleloosan street and the brain crushed with the broken bone and filament that popped. His face was completely ripped apart from the force.

“Tia? Is it over yet?” said Princess Luna.

The Princess sat in a royal chair, playing some Solitaire while Celestia was watching afar with a Telescope.

“Have they done what they needed to do?” she said again, placing a card down on a queen of hearts.

Celestia suddenly reacted to a painful display she just saw. It was an Appleloosan resident being pulled apart. His arms and legs flying like pieces of meat.

“Oh Luna, you should really see this. It’s so...violent! Something you don’t see everyday!”

"But, is violence still necessary after all this time?" Luna threw down a card before reaching for another one from the deck. "I mean, they must change. Sooner or later.”

“Come on, Luna, you should know better about Unicorns.” Celestia said, before cringing at the sight of a Unicorn ripping the head off yet another pony.

It was going to be a long night...
