//-------------------------------------------------------// A Beautiful Rose And A Beastly Soul -by Cinderella Princess- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Beauty Lies Within //-------------------------------------------------------// Beauty Lies Within Twilight was putting the last finishing touches to her castle's library. She had always loved coming to her little private little space where she felt like that she was still in her old home the Golden Oak Library before Tirek came along and destroyed the home that she truly loved. That was, until her friends decided to preserve the memory of the library with the roots that were left after it got burned to pieces. Twilight still longed for an adventure just like the ones she read about in her books and all those times she saved Equestria from danger. However, she wanted an adventure that was a little bit different; she needed to help spread more then just friendship she wanted to spread love. "If only I can help someone find their true beauty." Twilight said to noone in particular. "Maybe just maybe someone will love me and I love them in return." She had wondered what would it be like for someone to fall in love with her and she in return loves them back. Just like she with her parents, her brother, and Spike only a little bit more then that. Twilight couldn't help but notice that her cutie mark was glowing calling her to the map in the throne room. She came to the throne room and sat down on her throne to let the map tell her where she was needed. Her cutie mark circled around the map and it landed to where it looked like a place that was dark and spooky like the Everfree Forest at night. Twilight knew that as the princess of friendship she must perform her royal duty-like Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Princess Cadence would when their duties call them to where they are needed the most. Twlight took the train where she knew that the map was leading to her. She got off the train and saw a forest where it was blacker then the night sky with fog that covered the ground like the flowers that had covered half of Ponyville. She used her horn to cast a light spell to help her see where was the place she was being called for. She walked through the dark forest and saw a black gate with thorns that covered the black steel bars that had shown the place where the map was calling her to. It was a castle that looked like the ancient castle of Celestia and Luna only it was more dark and it seemed like it was huanted. Twilight used her magic to cut the thorns and opened the gate. She slowly but surely made her way to the front door of the castle and knocked; it opened slowly by itself. Twilight wasn't sure of what to make of this little call to spread the magic of friendship to this place. She was a little bit frightened by this place and she wasn't afraid to show it. She looked around to see if there was any sign of a pony somewhere. "Hello? Anyone here? I've come to help you." Noone answered. She thought she heard someone coming downstairs as hoofsteps echoed through the hallway from above. The steps started to get louder coming closer and closer until they stopped to the point where Twilight was sure there was someone behind her. She turned around slowly. What she saw made her stop dead in her tracks. It was a monster that looked a little bit of a manticore mixed with a pony. She started to back away when the beast called out, "What are you doing here? Noone trespasses on my castle." "I'm so sorry please don't hurt me. I was here on a mission from my map. I never meant to trespass." Twilight could see the anger and frustration and the monster's eyes while he could see the plead in hers. Twilight wanted nothing more then to beat her wings and fly faraway from that awful monster standing before her, but she just couldn't. Her duties as a princess must come first before her own needs. She decided to do the one thing she knew what Fluttershy would have done if this was her mission. Try to befriend the monster and try to reform him from this behavior. As the beast started to walk away, she knew that this would be the perfect time to make sure that her mission as the princess of friendship will be the most helpful and most sucessful one that she can manage. Out of curiosity, she decides to follow the monster to where she knows for sure that he will be in the one place where he feels the most safe and secure. But the monster growled at her knowing that she was behind him. Twilight, slowly backed away. The beast walked to the one place where does indeed feels safe and secure. It was a place in his castle where everything was torn, smashed, and burned to pieces by himself. The only thing that was still intact, was a small magic mirror. "She's so beautiful. If only she knew the truth." Twilight was sure and determined that this mission she's on will be the most challenging but she'll do her best to manage it. As time passed as the beast started to notice the kindness Twilight shows to him, he couldn't help but notice that he felt something that he never felt before. This time it wasn't anger, it was love. But he wonders if she loves him in return. Twilight hopes maybe that the beast will have a change of heart knowing that he was starting to act differently towards her. "He is truly a beautiful soul on the outside even though he's ugly on the outside." She did notice, however, that the beast was slowly laying down on the castle floor. Twilight feared that the monster was dying. She tried to use her magic to revive him but nothing worked. Twilight felt tears streaming down her face as she layed on the beast's back and said, "Please I don't want you to die. I love you." "I love you too." The beast breathed slowly and closed his eyes. He was truly dead. Twilight let the wave of saddness take over her. She didn't notice the sparks of magic coming down from the sky. However, she did notice the monster slowly moving above her. The beast was slowly transforming back into to his original form. When the transfomation was complete, Twilight saw the beast for he really was. He was a hansome indigo unicorn prince, with a dark blue mane and tail, light blue eyes, and a secptre as his cutie mark. "Twilight, it's me. I'm your beast. My name is Prince Royal Blue." "It is you." Twilight felt her cutie mark glowing telling her that it was time to go back to her castle. "Will I ever see you again my prince?" "We shall see when the time is right my princess." Twilight kissed her prince goodbye as she rode to her castle on the train. She now knew what it was like to fell in love with someone and earn their love in return. Twilight came back to her castle hoping that her library was still completely shelved from when she had just left it.
