The air around was dark and thin. The sun never seemed to pierce the black clouds above and the homes that surround you had their own gray and dark textures. The town of Hollow Shades, it was something different and mysterious in its own meager way. Crime was common and mundane like traffic in Manehattan and fog commonly occupied the ground below. It was a fantastic place to make coin. That was if your professional work involved criminal and illegal activity. You are hired once again to kill.
Today was the day of a good pay. You could smell it, even sense it from outside the small carriage you stand next to. The carriage is large and made of rare Everfree wood. It was wide, compact, and small, similar to a storage shack. As you wait outside the small wood container, you begin to feel the cold seep through your dark cloak. You shift into a different position but the temperature of your body did not alter. You reach your hoof behind your head and pull the hood attached to your cloak over your eyes. You feel a small comfort of warmth, but afterward experience the chill of cold wind.
The front door of the carriage next to you opens with a loud creek. Exiting from brown mobilhome was an orange stallion, his black feathery cap covers the majority of his right face. The orange dog of war stared awkwardly at you with his light red eyes, he seemed charmed by your mere appearance, his gaze scanning every part of you. Smirking, the tall stallion placed a hoof out to his left, sidestepping before bowing, allowing you open access into the mobile carriage. You enter the old looking box with little to no words.
The door behind you closes gently, the odor of the room quickly assaulted your sense of smell. The inside reeked of old cheese and wet dog. There were two windows, a bookshelf, a desk, and a red coated spin chair which slowly rotates to face you. Sitting in the chair was another stallion, his size was much larger than the others. His coat was dark blue, his mane was blond yellow, and his cutie mark was that of a white skull and a quill leaning on a coin pouch.
"Sit" He demands points to the chair next to you.
Your rump slowly made contact with the smooth surface of the polished chair. The male across from you leans forward and places both hooves on the table, ready to engage in conversation.
"Alright. I'm not going to go into the whole thing about why you're here because we ain’t got time for chit chat" He slowly leans down towards the left side of the desk where he opens a small drawer. He sits up with a pile of papers in hoof. "Heard rumors you do your work... discreetly" He said with a strict and deep tone. "I'm not mistaken, am I?"
