It was a nice warm day in the Canterlot suburbs, a nice day indeed.
Pinkie Pie walked down the sidewalk, a few cars drove down the road and moving into the city. She had her hands clasped together in front of her, and she hummed a sweet tune to herself as she walked. School was out for the day, and she along with her friends were planning to hang out at Rainbow's house for a while. Pinkie, being the ever so sweet girl she was, was headed home so she could grab a few snack foods for her friends. She had a few ideas in her head on what to grab.
Something sweet! Maybe some cookies, donuts, a pie? She hummed in thought, deep in thought on what to bring.
She was so deep in thought she didn't see the man she plowed into. Pinkie collided into the man with a thud, his sturdiness keeping him from falling and making Pinkie fall to the ground. A cry left her as she hit the pavement, "ouchy ouchy!" She rubbed her back with a grimace, craning her head to see who she ran into.
Pinkie saw a blonde haired man standing above her, holding a moving box in his hands. "Oh crap!" he cursed, setting his box down with a clunk and kneeling down. "Are you alright?" The man asked her, holding out a hand to help her up.
She looked at his hand, then back to him before taking it. He grabbed her hand and gently pulled her to her feet, a gentle smile on his face. She found herself staring at his eyes, they were an emerald green color. "Uh, thank you..."
He smiled. "No problem, it was my fault really," he chuckled as he picked up the box he had been carrying.
Pinkie nodded her head, returning the smile. "Its alright, I wasn't looking where I was going." She told him, rubbing the back of her head as she looked between him and the car next to him, which was a battered looking dark blue pickup truck. She looked at the box in his hands, then the house to her right, she remembered seeing this house for sale! "Oh! Are you moving in?" She asked, a bigger smile on her face.
The man nodded his head, blonde bangs falling in front of his eyes. "Yeah, I uh... just bought the house yesterday, I had to drive back to..." He trailed off for a bit. "I had to get my things," He hefted up the box he had in his hands as his eyes closed, "not a lot you understand, but eh, s'all I got."
When he opened his eyes he saw the young girl was gone from view, he looked towards his house, saw nothing, and when he looked towards his truck he saw Pinkie had grabbed several boxes. Two were balanced on her shoulders, and another was on her head. "Lemme help you out!"
"Oh!" He looked alarmed for a few seconds, as the box on top of her head had something fragile in it - the box having fragile on the sides in bold marker - and from the wall it wobbled he feared it would fall. But he watched as Pinkie walked to his new house, opened the door with her foot somehow and went inside before deftly putting the boxes down somewhere and bounding outside. "Uh..."
"It's the least I can do for my new neighbor~" She chirped, skipping to his truck.
He shook his head, ignoring the fact she somehow made it inside with his stuff in one piece and hurried inside to put his box down. Once he did so he went back out to his truck to help the strange girl. "You don't have to help," He said, grabbing another one of his boxes. Pinkie however only grabbed two more of his boxes.
"It's no trouble!" She giggled, "You're my new neighbor, it's only nice, isn't it?" She asked him as she walked around the truck to his side. "Oh, I should introduce myself!" She tossed the box into the air, having it land neatly on the other in her left as she held out her free hand to the man. "My name is Pinkie Pie!"
He looked at her for a second then balanced the box on his leg, hefting it up to hold it in one hand before taking the free hand with his own. "My name is Elijah, you can just call me Eli for short." He smiled, gently shaking her hand. Her hands are really soft. He noted, the two holding each other's hand for a few seconds before letting go. "Well, thanks for helping me," He told her as he walked towards his house. "I appreciate it."
Pinkie followed close behind, a big smile on her face. "No problem, what are neighbors for?" She asked. The girl hadn't expected to meet anyone new when she headed home, but now she has a new nieghbor! I should throw him a welcome party! Pinkie and Eli made their way to the house, going inside and putting the boxes down. Pinkie took a little look at his home, it was a small house, almost like hers and no doubt had three different bedrooms, two baths and a kitchen. Another looked showed it was true for the kitchen, which lacked any furniture.
Looking back at the boxes, she saw seven on the floor, all of them different sizes and the first three she had carried were heavy. She didn't mind though. Eli beckoned her to help him once more, she followed him out to his truck and the two continued to grab boxes from the truck and carry them back into the house. Pinkie couldn't help but notice Elijah had no furniture in his truck save for what looked like a bed roll. It troubled her, she figured he must have had a plan to go buy some furniture at some point.
Looking at the man she took note of his clothes, the man was dressed in a simple black shirt that hugged his upper body - something her eyes lingered on far longer than they should have - a pair of jeans and running shoes. Overall, he looked pretty average for a guy. In her eyes, he was a pretty cute guy, had nice eyes and a good looking body. I wonder where he's from? Elijah didn't seem like he was from the countryside, in fact his speech was very carefully said, and he spoke with some reservation in his tone. Something she picked up on when they met just a few seconds ago.
She helped Elijah move in the rest of his stuff, most of the boxes and bags were placed on the floor with everything else. Elijah wiped at his forehead, smiling softly at the girl.
"Hey, thanks for helping today, probably would have taken me a lot longer to move in." He admitted, popping his shoulders and putting his hands in his pockets.
"It was no problem!" She giggled, slapping him on the shoulder and causing him to stumble forward a tad. "I'd help you out some more, but I really gotta get going!" She told him, giving him a brief hug before bounding out through the open door. "I'll see you around Eli~" She sang, skipping down the sidewalk to her home.
Elijah walked over to his door, giving her a wave as she disappeared around the corner and across the street to a nice looking home. He smiled, backing away and closing his door before giving a heavy sigh. He turned around, walking over to the boxes on the floor and after picking up one box, he walked into the kitchen and over to the counter before sitting it down. All of the windows were closed with drapes, no doubt left by the previous owner.
He was thankful.
Elijah opened the box, he looked inside before he stuck his hand in and pulled out a box, opening it up he saw a black pistol, and several matching clips. He set them aside, looking back into the box before grabbing a small device and extending the antenna on it. He pressed a small button on the side, turning it on. The screen flickered to life, showing several readings and a small map that had his house on it, along with several others and Pinkie's house. When he looked at Pinkie's home, he saw a single pink dot pulsating.
"Interesting..." He noted, putting the device down and leaning back. Time to get to work. He told himself, moving over to his boxes to begin unpacking.
