'Buzzing and Buzzing the sounds of the insects was deafing as it always was in the summer’s sun. All one could hear was the constant whining of the bugs sheltered in the trees. Thankfully, within the cool, air conditioned walls of the Vivid Spices Café, the sounds of the insects was instead drown out by the casual conversations carried out between many of equines dining on delicious dished. Summer usually brought a larger crowd of traveling ponies to town as the blazing heat signaled the start of the vacation season.
To the owner of this Café is was Hearthwarming in July as many of the crowds flocked to her humble eatery thus bringing with them bits and gemstones but to the simple waitress working to satisfy every pony who set hoof into this establishment it was a such a waste. After all, today was a day lovely for a get together with friends or a dip in a lake with a companion or perhaps even just a nice day for a nice outdoor meal. Instead she found herself skating around taking orders from one pony after another as her red velvet mane flew about within its confining ponytail.
Most would be frustrated with the confinement work seemed to give to this youthful, lovely mare however, she would beg to differ. While she would prefer to spend this day with a friend or just out in the world rather than at work she found the job rewarding. Passing the tables she could see a smile after another lining the café booths and seeing them lightened her day. Bringing joy to other was what she lived for, it’s what set her heart in a blaze of passion.
However, she would soon find her heart would be doused as, passing by a window. From the corner of her eye she spots a stallion walking passed the café with a frown upon his face. She knew him well as a close friend so upon spotting him she stopped and attempted to catch his attention.
“Smooth?! Hey Smooth!”
But it seemed he could not hear her over the loud buzzing of the insects, complaining still over the heat outdoors. Watching him trot off away from sight the mare’s ears drop in disappointment.
‘If only I wasn’t working today.’ Was clearly read on her face as she gazes out the window.
“Clair Hayln, what in blazes are ye doin’ child?” Startled the mare named Clair jumped and faced the Café owner known as Miss Rosemary. Panicked she stutters nervously, attempting to find some excuse only to again be surprised as a smile spreads across the purple owner’s face.
“Yous a young’un aint ya? Go, have yerself some fun, love.”
“B-but what about the...”
“Nah-ah~ This ain’t no problem, duckie. Go, have yerself a good time! A wee child like yerself should go out to town every once in a while, not be settled down like an ol’ Pidgeon like meself.” Assuring her Clair smiled happily, hugging Miss Rosemary happily.
“Thank you Miss Rosemary! Thank you so much!”
“Eh no need to get all mushy now! Go on, hop it!”
She wasted not a second, galloping out of the café as fast as she could without even removing her waitress uniform. Every moment wasted was every moment her beloved friend, Smooth, travelled further and further away from her. Recalling the way he took Clair followed his path, keeping a keen eye out for the wayward stallion within the crowds of ponies. She desired to cheer him up by any means necessary, she wanted him to smile for no pony should wear frowns on such a glorious day as today.
Gallop she did, trotting along the roads, weaved into alley ways and parks in her search but find him she did not. Sunset was soon upon her as the crowds began to grow thinner and thinner and the light of day dimmer and dimmer with each passing minute. Soon, the streets were nearly deserted apart from some stragglers enjoying the lovely, cooler dusk. Panting Clair could no longer trot. Tired she was forced to sit down and stop for a while to recover her stamina. But by now she was convinced Smooth was long gone, likely back at his home considering how dark it was getting. A Street light flickering on above her seemed to confirm that further as dusk began to fade into night.
“Oh...I wonder what happened..... Maybe I’ll find out some other time?...”
Giving up bothered Clair greatly, she couldn’t simply throw in the towel yet. But if she kept searching in through the night she might end up finding something other than Smooth, like perhaps some bandits or thieves. After all, customers and tourists weren’t the only things summer brought this her lovely city. Considering what she should do Clair suddenly heard a light, rumbling sound. Alerted she stood and looked around cautiously only to discover the sound emerging from an alley way behind her. Pounding her heart threatened to leap out from her chest as the sound grew louder and louder. Prepared to run Clair was about to book up until she heard a moaning sound. Instantly she recognized that tone as her ears jerked up and twitched.
“S... Smooth?” Cautiously she approached, spotting a light, green glow which was unmistakeable. Seeing it she hesitated not to gallop right into the alley way. There she found Smooth, collapsed on the ground and barely awake.
“O-oh my Celestia! Smooth are you okay?! What happened to you?!” Panic struck she lays down next to him to check for any injuries. Softly he mumbles some words but Clair is unable to make out exactly what he was saying, only nonsensical mumblings.
“Smooth? D-don’t worry i-I’ll go get so-“
“GRRRRRRRROWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLL”
He spoke a bit clearer, a loud growling sound rumbling through the alley way.
“S-soo....uhhhh....”
“GRRRRRRRRROWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLL”
“So.... Hungry.........Uhhhhhhhhh.... Need Love......”
Relieved, Clair sighed and gave Smooth an annoyed look as she stood back up.
“You silly Stallion! And here I was worried sick about you geez... Common, let’s go back to my place... It’s just down the road...”
“I can’t go any further... ohh dear Celestia please deliver me from this agony ahhh....”
He rolls onto his back, complaining and moaning loudly as if he was in some sort of Shakespeare play. Seeing no other way Clair again sighed.
“Ahh okay, okay.... let’s see....” Grabbing his tail in her mouth Clair began to drag him on his back all the way back to her house. It was by no means easy as Smooth was heavier than the cream coat mare but, with a little elbow grease, she managed to drag him through the streets, into the elevator, up to her floor and into her apartment building where she brought him all the way to the center of her living room and looked down at him.
“Okay, now.... what do you want? A sandwich, a burger?”
“uhhhhhhhhhh......... love....need love....”
“Oh right.... changeling.... umm.... Well....”
It was clear from her expression that she had no idea what to do as, unlike her good friend Cherry, Clair didn’t express love so freely. Sure she hugged and snuggled with her friends but legit love between two ponies isn’t exactly something she can offer. Clair had never loved anypony in that way. The only reason Cherry could provide love for Smooth was because she was in love with another stallion known as Alto but Clair, she had no one and sadly Cherry wasn’t in town at the moment. She was away on a business trip thus leaving Smooth to try and get water from a dry well.
“M-maybe I get some Liquid love from the Café.... just wait okayyyyyyyy?”
Just as she was about to trot off to find something for him Smooth rolled over and lifted himself up with his front legs. Peaking through his hair Smooth looked directly at Clair in a very intense look. It was almost as he was looking at her with the eyes of a hunter sizing up some prey and judging by the fact he looked at her it was safe to assume she was the prey. Nervous from the expression he gave her Clair backed up a bit.
“Umm Smooth? You okay?...”
His deep, violet eyes began to radiate a light, lime green glow as they remained glued on the young Earth pony. A seductive smirk spread across his normally sweet and caring face as he stood. Slowly he made his way towards her, seemly stalking her and buying his time before he collected.
“Clair.....have I ever told you that you have.... Lovely eyes? Such a rich, deep blue and the way it contrasts your mane... beautiful...”
As he approached Clair continued to back away from him until she found herself cornered against a wall. The moment her back made contact with the wall Smooth extended his wings, startling her as she found him only a few centimeters away from her. Her cheeks beet red Clair could only stare into Smooth’s lustful, desire filled eyes with the expression of a deer caught in the headlights. Having never had anything of this nature happen to her before she was both afraid and excited all at the same time which left her confused and unable to react. A voice in her head screamed, telling her that Smooth wasn’t himself and she shouldn’t do this but her body seemed to protest against that voice.
“I...I.... umm... Th-thanks a really n-nice thing to say Smooth b-but.... ummm I d-don’t think we sho-“
Gently Smooth places his hoof over her muzzle, silencing any protest.
“Shhhh, no words Clair. I need love... and you’re the only one who can give it to me...”
“B-but....I...”
“Don’t you want to help me?”
Clair said nothing, her protest falling mute now with those words. Judging by his behavior it was clear this suddenly change in his personality was some sort of Changeling instinct. It was likely that being deprived of sufficient love for a long period brought it into full force. Clearly Clair knew this was wrong, she knew that if they did anything both would likely regret it later but her desire to help him go back to normal was overpowering. It seemed to override her clear thoughts as his eyes seemed to put her in a trance of some kind. Thankfully, because of Clair’s ‘special eyes’ he was unable to assume complete control over her but he did fuddle her mind. All she wanted was to help him that was all.
“I... do.......”
Now that hesitation was no longer a part of the equation Smooth went in to capture his well-deserved prey. Without a moment wasted Smooth pulled Clair into a delicate kiss. Better to only give her a taste, after all the best prey is one unwilling to put up a fight and the best way to do that was to tempt them with a bait so tasty they couldn’t resist. So loving, so soft and so tender the bait did its job as Clair expected more and desired more from him. But Smooth only gave her bread crumbs, crumbs she’ll have to follow if she wanted the true prize. Slowly the kiss became more and more intense with Smooth maintaining dominance over his puppet. Pressing her against the wall he brushes her body the tips of his feathers, tickling and treating the mare to a spine chilling sensation. Yes, she was truly putty in his hoof now and he planned to take full advantage of it. Using his arms he holds her in a tight hug, pressing the mare against himself so that she could feel everything. In his chest her sensitive ears could hear his heart beat, strong and confident, and with her skin she could feel something more. Only once Smooth broke their kiss to allow her a breath could her head register what she felt poking against her belly and it send her face a blaze.
Doubt began to re-emerge from the recesses it has been confined to in Clair’s head but passion screamed louder than it. Every moment that passed love poured from Clair and Smooth devoured every drop of love he could get from her, desiring more from his new toy. His natural Changeling senses began to erase anything remaining of his normally caring, humble personality and changed it all to desire. Catching her in a trap once more Smooth began to suck on Clair’s neck, earning a light squeal from the mare. Clair trembled and she shivered under his advances, feeling her head grow warmer and warmer and her body fall to the strange sensations filling it. Allowing her own instincts to take control Clair’s front hooves began to delicately rub him, making him twitch a bit. He moaned as he licked and sucked on her neck. So much passion, so much need, it began to drive the filly mad. She wanted him, she needed him. Something was building inside her, something she had a hard time containing.
Releasing it Clair’s eyes flew open, her pupils shining with an odd, star shaped light. A powerful pink aura released from her body in a powerful wave, covering Smooth in its light thus shocking him. For that moment Clair had no control over her own mind as it was overloaded with this odd sensation building inside. All at once Smooth felt a powerful, body shaking sensation that unleashed all his passion at once. He fell back, the pink magical aura enveloped him. Suddenly, as quickly as the strange even had begun it ended. Clair’s eyes returned to normal and her mind fell back under her control. Feeling very light headed she shook her head, trying to regain her composure. Upon returning back to her sense she finds Smooth peacefully asleep on the floor with the pink aura absorbing into him. Once the aura was gone Clair was convinced it was all a dream; that is until she noticed some white liquid on her stomach. Her memory was foggy and she was confused. For many long minutes she stared down at Smooth, trying to recall anything after that sensation burst free but to no avail.
In the end she simply cleaned herself up, summoned all of her strength to push Smooth onto the couch and cover him up with a nice, soft blanket. Through the night she tried to convince herself that their ‘moment’ was just in her head but a hicky left by him was clear proof that it wasn’t. Night went by with not a wink of sleep for her as she tried to rationalize not only her actions but also what happened. Pacing around her room Clair thought and thought until she noticed the sun beginning to rise from her bedroom window. Panicked she covered the hicky with some make-up she had in a drawer.
It turned out Smooth didn’t seem to have any memory of what happened after Clair found him in the alley way and it seemed that he had returned to his normal, considerate, sweet self. To Clair this was a relief, better that he didn’t know anything. After all, she feared if he had remembered she knew he would feel 100% guilty about it. Besides, last thing she wanted to do was to compromise their friendship. False love, that wasn’t what Clair wanted. In her mind she convinced herself that her actions were only to help Smooth be himself again. But in her heart she felt a.... change of some kind
When he left, flying back home full of love and re-energized she almost wished they had gone further.
