A Day with The Mare I Love
When I woke up I could see that Celestia’s sun was up and, shining on my beautiful marefriend, Vinyl Scratch. Her electric blue mane and her white coat glistened in the sun light. She was the most beautiful mare and I could never leave the bed unless I told her first. “Time to wake up Vinyl.” I cried shaking her forehooves.
“Ugh… Do I have to Tavi?” she complained.
“ Yes, I want to start our weekend early. It’s our one year anniversary this weekend,” I looked at her,“ Don’t tell me you forgot.”
“No, how could I forget the day I met you, my marefriend.” She said with a smile.
I kissed her on the cheek, “I knew you didn’t forget.”
She pulled me in for a kiss. It was a kiss that I could never forget. Her tongue begs for for entry, and I allow it to enter. I wrap my hooves around her and pull her closer to my chest. I broke the kiss and said,
“I love you, Vinyl.”
She grinned, “I love you too, Octy.”
She pulled me into an embrace.
“Well, what's your plans for this weekend?” she asked.
“Well, I thought maybe today we could go to the beach for a little picnic. Then, come home to cuddle.” I explained to my mare.
“Sounds like a good way to start off our anniversary weekend,” She smiled. “Well, shall we have breakfast first?”
My stomach rumbles. “That sounds like a good idea,”I said as I rubbed my stomach.
We get up from bed and walk over to our kitchen. Vinyl pulls out a pan and some pancake mix and takes them into her magic and put them on the counter. I begin to cut up some strawberries as Vinyl starts up the stove and pours in the pancake mix into the pan.
“We should do this more often.” I looked to my mare and smiled.
She smiled back and nodded. I put the strawberries into the pan as she flips them with her magic. As she finished the last of the pancakes I began to set up our table. She took the pan and put two pancakes on one plate and the others on another plate. We both walk side by side to the table and take a seat.
“You know,Tavi, I’m surprised that you let me cook the pancakes this time. You know I don’t normally cook.” She said looking at me then to the pancakes. They were the perfect golden color and it had bright red strawberries dotted on them.
“They look perfect to me.” I looked to her and smiled.
“Thanks,Tavi. I think I might be getting better at cooking for you to like it.” She nudged me and smiled.
“I guess you're right.” I smiled and nudged her back. We both giggled and we set down our plates and sat down next to each other. I cut a piece of my pancake and say,
“Open my dear.” Holding up a fork with a piece of my pancake and give it to Vinyl. She blushes, but takes the piece.
“Your turn my sweet.” She said doing the same only levitating it to me instead. We do this until both pancakes were gone.
I leaned back against my mare and said, “Wow, those pancakes were great. You learned well while watching me make them, before.”
She smiled and nodded.“Yeah, I learned from watching you. I thought since I was going to be with you I should learn to cook, since you like to cook. So, every time you cooked I would watch you and learn slowly, but I understood.”
“And you waited for this weekend to show me that you can cook. Just for our anniversary, thanks.” I hugged her and kissed her on the cheek.
“It was my pleasure,Tavi.” She smiled. “Now, why don’t we begin to pack up for our day at the beach?”
“Yeah, let’s do that.”
I walked over to a closet and pulled out a straw basket and a blanket. While Vinyl tended to the food. I packed plates and utensils and all the other essentials. After packing I asked,
“How do you want to get to the beach? You want to walk or take a chariot?” I give the basket to Vinyl and she took it into her magic.
“Walk, of course. I want to walk with you not just sit next to you.” She said with a grin.
“Ahh. That’s sweet of you to say that. I love you too.” I leaned in for a kiss. Again with the kiss being blissful and wonderful.
We walked to the door with each other side by side. Vinyl opened the door with her magic. The day was perfect for a picnic. No clouds in the sky, only perfect Spring sunlight. As we stepped out the feeling of the warm sun was much more than welcomed.
“The sun feels great. We chose the perfect day to go on a picnic.” I smiled and looked to my mare.
“You bet we did.” She said and smiled back.
We started walking to the beach, still by each other’s side. The walk was blissful and romantic, and the feeling of each other’s coat rubbing against each sent chills down my spine, but they were nice and welcome.
“Vinyl, you can chose the spot where we can have the picnic.” I looked to her.
“Thanks,Tavi.” she said turning to me and giving me a hug. She began to look at the beach as we continued to walk down the coastline.
“Here’s a good spot.” she said pointing a hoof at a palm tree.
“That’s the perfect spot, good eye Vinyl.”
We walk over to said spot and began to set up our romantic lunch on the beach. The palm tree wasn’t too close to the water, but not to close the the road behind us. It was very peaceful and serene.
“You know, Vinyl this going to be a great weekend.” I said looking at my mare and smiled.
“You bet it is.” She said with a smirk. I giggled and sat next to my marefriend. I wrapped my hooves around her and kissed the side of her face. She smiled.
“I love you, Octavia.”
“I love you too, Vinyl.”I said leaning against her still hugging her. “Well shall we eat or cuddle for a bit.”
“Whatever you like my sweet.” She said with a smile.
“Let’s eat and then we can spend the rest of the time cuddling.” I said pulling out the salads that she had made. One having my favorite fruit, blueberries, and the other a basic salad with croutons and thousand Island dressing. I smiled and hoofed over Vinyl’s salad. We sat next to each other eating our salads and I smiled as Vinyl leaned against me and snuggled up next to me. We finished our salads and I snuggled up closer to Vinyl. She smiled as I laid against her. We laid down on the blanket with each other in our hooves. I watched as I saw sleep take her and I yawned and joined her into a peaceful slumber, with her in my hooves and never moving.
One Hour Later
“Wake up Tavi,” I opened my eyes and saw my mare smiling down at me. I smiled back and sat up.
“Good afternoon, Vinyl.” I said with a smile as I rubbed my eyes.
“Good afternoon to you too,Tavi,” she smiled.
“Well, what shall we do now?”
“I don’t know. What time is it? I looked at her and asked.
“About 6:30.” She said looking at the Sun.
“You want to stay and wait for the Sun to set?” I asked.
“That sounds very romantic. Let’s do it!” she said with excitement.
“More time I get to enjoy with the mare I love. It’s a perfect day anytime I’m with you, Octy.”
“Ahhh, that’s sweet. I love you too.” I said giving her a hug.
“Now why don’t we head into the market to pass some time?”
“We do need some things for the house, so why not. Let’s go.” She said putting her hoof to her chin and shrugged.
We walked to the market, which was not far at all, and we bought the things we needed and left. It was now about 7 o’clock and the Sun was beginning to set. We sat back down putting a hoof around each others backs as we turned to watch the Sun set. As it reached the end of the horizon we turned to each other and looked into each other’s eyes. We both said, “I love you.”
We kissed as the Sun set. It was the most romantic thing we have done. It was blissful and completely unforgettable. I broke the kiss and said, “Happy anniversary, Vinyl.” She smiled and we laid there in each other’s hooves as the night took over the day.

Vinyl's Perspective
As me and my mare laid on the blanket I look down to see that Octavia has fallen asleep. I nudged her and said, “Tavi, wake up. We should head home now.”
“Huh,” she slowly sat up, “y-yeah that would be a good idea.” She ran her hoof through her mane. I smiled.
“Well, can you help pack up our picnic?”I asked and she nodded. I pick up the basket with my magic and levitate it over to Tavi who has just finished folding the blanket. I then put all of our groceries in the basket and held it in my magic. We then began our trot back home. “Octavia?”
“Yes, Vinyl?”
“Today was wonderful. Great idea for going out to the beach,”I said nuzzling her.
She smiled, “Thanks, Vinyl.” She leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. I blushed. I then pull her closer to me with my magic. I held her as we trotted back home. When we arrived home I open the door with my magic and turned on the lights. We walked in and I set the basket on the counter by the stove.
“Vinyl?”
“Yes, Tavi?”
“I’m going to go to bed, is that okay with you?” I nod. “Okay, goodnight Vinyl.”
“Goodnight, Octavia,” I kiss her on the forehead and she trots off to our room. “I’ll come to bed soon. I’m just going to put all of this stuff away then I’ll go to bed.” She looks back and nods. I began to put all the groceries in their specific places and I put the blanket and basket back in the closet where we got them. I trot out of the kitchen and I turned off the lights and trotted over to our room. I open the door and I can see that Tavi is sound asleep. I trot over to my side of the bed and I look at my night stand and picked up a picture frame that has a picture of me and Octavia in front of the Canterlot Hall. I sigh. Oh, Octavia I love you so much. “Happy anniversary.” I kiss her again on the forehead. I pull up the bed sheets and slipped my way into bed, without disturbing her. I then turned to her and wrapped my forehooves around her. I rested my head on a pillow next to her head and fell asleep with a smile.
The Next Day
When I woke up the next morning, I noticed that Octavia was not in bed. “Tavi, where did you go?” I cried out.
“I’m over here, Vinyl, just making breakfast.” I heard the soothing voice of my mare callout. I sighed with relief.
“Tavi, can please come back to bed?” I cried out, “I need some cuddling right now.”
“I’ll be there in a little bit. Just hold on for just a few more minutes,” she said and I just laid back down and waited for her to come back to the room. A few minutes later, I look over to the door and in came my mare with a plate of toast and butter. I smiled as she walked over to my side of the bed. She set up a small table and moved it over to the bed and she placed the plate down.
“Don’t you have a plate for yourself?” I asked looking at her.
“I already ate,” she said, “I made this plate just for you to have in bed. So, we can cuddle for the rest of this fine morning.”
I smiled and ate the toast. “I love you, Octavia.” She moved to her side of the bed and I turn to look at her and she pulls me into a kiss. My lips meet hers as she pulls me closer to her and I wrap my forehooves around her neck. I pull her down to the bed and we lay there with each other in our hooves.
She breaks the kiss, “I love you too, Vinyl.” I look to her and pull her into another kiss. I get a small, cute, squeal from her as I pull her towards me. She relaxes into the kiss and puts her forehooves around me.
I break the kiss and ask, “What shall we do today my dear?” She shrugged. “Um… Oh, how about we go watch a movie tonight?”
“That sound good to me, Vinyl.” She jumps out of the bed and takes my plate out to the sink. I get up and stretch my hooves and follow her out to our living room. I go to the couch and pick up a magazine with my magic and look through the DJ equipment. I find a few things that would be of good use with my setup. I look over my shoulder to look at what Octavia was doing and she had just finished washing the dishes. She trots over to me and sits to my right and leans on me.
“Octavia?”
“Yeah?”
“Are you still sleepy?” She nods and a yawn escapes from her. I pull her closer to me with my hoof and she lays her head on my chest. She nuzzles up to me and falls asleep. I sigh. Oh Octavia you're so cute when you do this to me. I kiss her on the forehead. I then look over to the coffee table and pick up a book, with my magic, called Before Corruption by TheFlamingGay . I began to read the story and it was good, but I feel bad for Chrysalis now. I put the book back on the coffee table and look at Tavi.
I kiss her, once more, on the forehead. “I love you, Tavi.” I slowly make my way out from under my mare and I make my way to our music room. Hmm… Should I play for a bit? I look back at Octavia.Yeah, I’m going to play. I open the door and trot towards the back and pull out my table and my subwoofers. I make a soundproofing spell and cast it around the room. Ok, now Octavia shouldn’t wake up, and I won’t disturb the rest of Ponyville. I cranked up the volume of my speakers and began to mix up some of my favorite songs. After playing for thirty minutes I step out of the room and looked over to the couch. I smile to see that my mare is still asleep. I trot over to our room and get a spare blanket. I bring in out with my magic and set it on top of my sleeping mare.
An hour later, “Octavia, time to wake up.” I said putting a hoof on her shoulder. She got up slowly. “Morning, my dear,” I smiled as she rose.
“Morning, Vinyl,” A yawn escapes and she stretches out her hooves. “ What time is it, Vinyl?”
I look over to the clock over our fireplace. “11:30 am.”
“Wow, I was a sleep for a little more than an hour,” I nod. “Well, Vinyl what movie do you have in mind that we can go watch?”
I put my hoof to my chin, “Um… I don’t know,” I said while I shrugged, “I’ll watch whatever you like, my dear.” I took her hoof into my own.
“Aw, that’s sweet of you,Vinyl.” She said smiling.
I smiled back and scooted closer to her. “Well, what shall we do while we wait for the later showings?”
“I don’t know,” She had a slight grin on her face, “Why don’t we just go back to bed to cuddle?”
I smiled, “I thought you’d never ask.” I stood up and took her by a hoof and pulled her off to our room. I moved the blankets with my magic and we slipped under and wrapped each other in our hooves. As I laid there I looked in to Octavia’s lavender eyes and pulled her into a kiss. We both relaxed in the kiss and she pulled me closer to her. We broke the kiss and caught our breath. “I love you, Tavi.”
“I love you too, Vinyl.” She said putting her head under my chin. I put my hooves around her neck and pulled her closer to me. I smiled as she nuzzled up to me.
A few minutes later, I noticed that Octavia had fallen asleep once more. So, I got out of bed slowly and trotted out of the room. I should go out and buy her something. I thought to myself as I trotted to the door and looked back to our room. I grabbed my magenta sunglasses with my magic and trotted out the door. As I stepped out I could feel the Celestia’s sun’s warmth, which was a beautiful thing. I sighed and trotted towards a small store and I bought a box of chocolates, of course in a box in the shape of a heart, it had both of our favorite, Dark Chocolate. My mouth began to water as I smelled the chocolate. I haven’t had chocolate since the last time me and Tavi went to Canterlot, about two months ago. I’ve had this craving for a while and I wonder if Tavi has the same thing. I make my way back to our house and I open the door and close it behind me, quietly. I trotted into our room and set the chocolates on her nightstand. “Tavi, wake up,” I said putting a hoof on her shoulder. “I bought you something. Look on your nightstand.” She looked over and smiled.
“Aw, Vinyl you didn’t have to do this.”
“Go ahead open it.” She did so and saw that it was mostly Dark Chocolate. She smiled and turned to me and gave me a hug.
“Thanks, Vinyl.” I smiled.
“No problem, Tavi.” I then levitated one of the chocolates in front of her. She takes the chocolate and eats it whole. I can see in her eyes that they are one of the best she has ever had. “Tavi, don’t tease me like that.” I open my mouth. She turns to her nightstand and picks up a chocolate and gives it to me. Oh my Celestia, these are so delicious. The chocolate basically melting in my mouth. We both continued to eat the chocolates and we finished it in a just a few minutes.
“Vinyl?”
“Yeah, Tavi?”
“Thanks for the chocolates,” She leans over to me and kisses me on the cheek.
“Anything for my sweet mare,” I said with a smile and pulled her into a hug. “I love you, why wouldn’t I do something like this for you?”
“Thanks again, Vinyl, I love you too,” She pulls me into a kiss and I was caught by surprise, but I relaxed into it. I could taste the dark chocolate in her mouth and I savored that.
She broke the kiss, “Hey, don’t do that when not expecting it.” I pulled her into another kiss more blissful than the last.
After a few hours of cuddling in bed we got up and trotted to our living room. “Vinyl?”
“Yes?” I looked back.
“I’m going to take a quick shower before we go, ok?”
I nodded, “ Yeah that’s fine, I’ll take mine after you.” She walks off to the bathroom and I hear her humming a lovely tune. Oh, Octavia you sure do love that song. I walked over to the couch and waited for her to come out. After about ten minutes, Octavia came out of the bathroom with a white towel that has my cutie mark on it. I giggled at the sight.
“You should not be giggling you have a gray towel like this with my cutie mark on it.” I blushed and trotted to the bathroom and turned the knobs to get the perfect temperature. Once I found that temperature I stepped into the shower and sighed. Ah, this shower feels great. I levitated a bottle of soap over my back and squeezed it. I stayed in the shower for a lot longer than I should have, I was enjoying the warm water in my coat. It was the middle of autumn. I walked over to the rail where my towel was and picked it up with my magic. I wrapped it around my waist and walked over to the sink and picked up a brush and ran it through my flattened mane. I then trotted out to the living room to see, across the room, that Octavia was preparing a late lunch in the kitchen.
“Hey, Tavi, what you making?” I asked as she turned to look at me.
“I’m making salads, with mozzarella and some fruit from the refrigerator.”
“Oh, ok,” I turned and walked over to our room and put my towel in a basket of our dirty laundry. I walked back out to the kitchen to see that Octavia was finished with the salads. “Thanks, Tavi.”
“My pleasure, my dear,” she said as she nuzzled my neck. I pulled out a chair and put it next to where I was sitting. Tavi, went to chair and I pushed her in. The salad had mozzarella and some blueberries along with some garlic croutons. I smiled and dug in. Oh my this is delicious.
“You like it Vinyl?” I nodded with a hum of glee. “I knew you would.”
“You know me all too well,” she smiled, “to put in my favorite fruit and put in croutons,” I pulled her into a hug, “Thanks, Tavi.”
“No problem, Vinyl. So have you thought of a movie we can go watch?”
I let her out of the hug and said, “No. Maybe when we walk by later there might be something we can watch.”
“Ok, sounds good to me.” I picked up both plates and put them in the sink and washed them.
Later that evening, we got ready to head out to the theater. “Vinyl, hurry up. We’re going to be late.”
“I’m going as fast as I can. You don’t know how hard it is to tie this.” I was wearing a little tie and coat while she was wearing her formal performing uniform.
“Come over here and let me help you.” I trotted out our room and over to her. She fixed the tie with ease.
“Thanks, Tavi.” I kissed her on the cheek. We walked over to the door with each other at our side and I opened the door with my magic. We trotted out and went towards the theater at the other end of town. When we arrived to the theater we saw that there were many movies to choose from.
“What do you want to watch, Tavi?”
She shrugged, “I don’t know.” She began to look at all of the posters of the different movies. “Um… how about something nice and romantic?”
“Sure, not my kind of thing, but anything you like, Tavi.”
“Thanks, for treating me to a movie, Vinyl.” She said as she nuzzled at my side. We continued to look at the movies for about twenty minutes. Until she pointed a hoof at a poster of a Daring Do movie. Wait, did she just point at a Daring Do movie poster. Oh I see, it’s a romantic-action movie. Good choice. “That looks like it has things that we will both like,” she looked at me and I smiled. “It has the action you like along with the romance I like.”
“Great choice, Tavi.” We trotted over to the ticket booth. “Two tickets to the Daring Do and The Life Before an Adventurer.”
“Alright, two tickets coming right up,” said the ticket master, “You two enjoy yourselves and the movie.”
“We will, thank you, and you have a great evening.” We then trotted over to the snack stand. I bought some hay fries and, well what do you know, she bought some dark chocolate and a large drink for the both of us. We then trotted over to the theater room and got some good seating. I’m glad we’re not the only ponies here I saw Time Turner and Derpy here along with Lyra and Bon Bon and Rainbow Dash was here, of course because it’s a movie with Daring Do in it. A few minutes after taking our seats the movie started.
An hour and a half later, the movie finished, and wow that was a great movie on Daring’s foalhood and how she became what she is now. “Did you like the movie, Tavi?”
“Yeah, it was a great movie even though it was a half romance and half action, but one the greatest movies yet.” I smiled.
“Shall we head home?” She nodded. We began our trot home and Tavi nuzzled up to me closely. “You cold?” She nods and shivers slightly. I levitate my coat off and place it around Tavi. “Better?”
“Yeah, thanks.” Ten minutes later, we arrived home and I opened the door. We both trot over to our room and take off our cloths and go straight to bed. “Good night, Vinyl.”
“Good night, Tavi.” I kiss her on the forehead. I turn to my nightstand and she wraps her forehooves around my neck and kiss the back of my head. I smile and fall asleep in my mare’s hooves.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted lately.
I haven't been writing for the longest of times and I feel bad for all of you. And so, with that be said I'm gonna stop talking. Enjoy the final chapter!!

Music of the Night
When I woke up the next day, I turn over to notice that Tavi is still well asleep. I look over to a clock that is by the door of our room. “Ok, it’s only eight in the morning.” I said to myself. Tavi, knows that I love her and I know she loves me. We have been together for over a year now. I think it’s time that I give her a surprise, now that today is our actually anniversary. Oh, wait how can I do that if I don’t even have the bucking ring to give her. Crap! I get out of the bed slowly trying my best not to wake my sleeping mare. I dash outside and head to the one place that I know has rings for an earth pony, The Carousel Boutique. As I make my way to the boutique I run into a certain grey and yellow maned pegasus. “Hey, Ditzy!”
“Vinyl, hey. How’s it been?” she asks carrying mail in her saddle bags.
“I’ve been great, you?” I say with a smile on my face.
“Good,” she says as her ears droop to the back of her head.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” I ask as I put a hoof on her shoulder.
“It’s that the Doc and I have been going through some tough times lately,” she sniffles a bit. “and I don’t know if we can handle another payment on the rent of our house.”
“Really, here,” I pull out a sack of hundred and fifty bits. “Take these, they’re from my past few gigs.”
“Vinyl, no I can’t take this, you earned it all.”
“I insiste, take it. I can make more next week.” I give the sack to her.
“Thanks, Vinyl. I owe you one,” she looks up to me with a smile of gratitude.
“No problem, I’ll see you around, Ditzy,” I wave to her as I start my walk to the Boutique.
As I arrived to the Boutique, I am greeted by Rarity. “Hello, darling!”
“Hello, Miss Rarity,” I say in response as I walk into the little shop.
“How may I be of help, Vinyl?” She asked.
“I came here to ask if you can fetch me a ring for Octavia,” I say as I run my hoof through my mane. “Tonight is our one year anniversary and I want to propose to her at our dinner later tonight.”
“Well, what is it that you want?” She asked.
I think for a little bit in my thoughts. “I want it to have my cutie mark along with her’s and with diamonds and rubies on it, their colors are my blue mane and the color of her cutie mark.”
“Ok, I will get right to work on it. It should be ready by one this afternoon.” She says from a notepad where she wrote down my order.
“Thanks Rarity.” I wave goodbye to her as I walk out of the shop and begin to head home.
When I make it back to our house, I slowly open the door with my magic. I make my way to our bedroom and open the door to find that she is still sound a sleep, even snoring. I giggle at the sight. I walk back out to the living room and close the bedroom door. I walk over to the couch and plop onto it. I lay there as I think out the plan for our anniversary. I think about our dinner tonight, and then what I will do to propose to her. I hope she says yes. I love her so much, I know she feel the same, but I don’t know if she is as committed as I am to start a family. I’ve been ready to start a family with her since six months into our relationship.
A few minutes pass and my ears perk up as I hear our bedroom open. I look over the top of the couch and see a gray coated mare with a matted black mane walkout, “Morning, Sweetie.”
“Ugh, good morning Vinyl.” She says as she looks over to me and gives me a gentle smile.
I hop off the couch and trot over to my mare, “Don’t tell me you forgot what day it is.”
“It’s Sunday.”
“Yes, but today is very special.”
“Why is that?” She asks as she tilts her head to the side.
“It’s our one year anniversary!”I say as I am a little surprised that she had forgotten about today.
“Oh dear, that’s right,” she says as she blushes a little, “I am so sorry I forgot Vinyl.”
“It’s ok Octavia,” I lean over and kiss her on the cheek. “I forgive you.”
Her ears droop a little, “How could I forget the day that I found the perfect mare?”
I put a hoof under her chin and lift her head so I can see those gorgeous purple eyes, “Like I said, I forgive you. I have everything planned out for the both of us. Today will be a day you will never forget.” I say as I stare into those beautiful eyes of her’s. She smiles and pulls me into a kiss. I delve deeper into the kiss as we both hum in pleasure as our lips meet for the first time today.
We pull away to catch our breath, “Thanks for forgiving me, Vinyl”
“Of course I could never be mad at you, my sweet.” My stomach begins to growl at me. “Shall we have breakfast?”
“Yes, of course. Blueberry or Raspberry pancakes?”
“Blueberry please.” She nods in response and heads to the kitchen and pulls out all of the ingredients for our pancakes. I walk over to the dining room and set up the table. I place the plates and forks in their correct spots, as I know she would like it. I walk back to the kitchen and take a spatula into my magic and begin to help make the breakfast. “You don’t mind if I lend a hoof.”
“No not at all.” I continue to help with breakfast. After about ten minutes we finish the pancakes and we take our seats at the dining room table. Instead of sitting across from each other we make the decision to sit next to each other and enjoy each other's company. We then begin to feed each other our pancakes, we both laugh as we do. As we finish our meal, I get up and take both of our plates to the sink and wash them and put them away into the cabinets. As I make my way back to the dining room I am greeted by my mare who has a little gift box in her hooves.
“What is this, Tavi?” I ask as I look over the little box that has a bow the color of my mane.
“It’s my anniversary gift to you.” she says as she hoofs over the box to me.
I take it into my magic and open it. I gasp as I pull out a new pair of headphones, “Tavi, these are over a hundred bits. You didn’t need to get me these.”
“I know, but I bought them anyways, a while ago anyway, I forgot that I even got that ready during the night before.”
“You’ve had these and saved them for today?”
“Yes, indeed I did,” I look up to her and give her a smile as I pull her into a hug.
“Thanks for getting me these, my old ones were dying out anyway. I can’t believe you even got these custom made.” I look it over some more, it has my cutie mark on one side of the headset and hers on the other. It’s color was blue, like my mane, along with snow white cushions on the speakers.
“ I thought that since you had your old ones for about six years, I would get you a new pair and since we’ve been together, I got them custom made for you.” I put them on and oh dear Celestia these are comfortable, way better than my old ones. She is trying to talk to me but I can’t hear her because she even got these sound proofed.
I lift one of the sides up, “What did you say Tavi?”
“Go test them out.” she says as she points over to our music room. I trot over to the room and open the door with my magic. I then walk over to my setup and plug in the headset. I turn on my turntable and put on one of my favorites from Neon Lights. As the song goes on the bass of the headset is unbelievable it makes my favorite song even better than it was. As the beat rises I can tell that these were even made by Neon himself, only his headphones have the best bass. Did Tavi go to Neon and get these made for me? I thought to myself as the song goes on and the bass gets dropped I bob my head to the faster beat. As the song slows down and reaches the end, I look over to Octavia who has grabbed her celio and looking at me with a smile. I take them off and unplug them from the table. “I see you like them very much.”
“Yes, I do. I have to ask did you get these made by Neon himself?”
“Why yes I did. I went up to his club in Manehattan and talked to him about getting you that headset and he even gave me a discount for it. I got it for only fifty bits.”
“Wow, these are normally a hundred-seventy to get them customized like this.”
“Yeah, he only did that since it was for one of his number one fans.” I look at her in astonishment.
“That is unbelieveable. Thanks, Tavi.” I say as I kiss her on the cheek.
“You’re welcome, Vinyl.” She says as she returns the gesture on my lips. I fall onto my back and wrap my hooves around her neck and pull her closer to my chest. As we’re in this embrace I think back over the past year of all the great times I have had with this mare and only this mare. It warms my heart to think that this Cellist is my true love and soon to be my wife. I just hope that she feels the same way that I do. We finally, after what seems like half an hour, break the kiss and we both stare into each other's eyes. We both smile at each other and she lays her head on my chest. “Happy anniversary, Vinyl.” She says with her head down snuggling on top of me.
“Happy anniversary, Octavia.” I look down at my mare and smile widely. You’re in for a surprise tonight my Sweet. I thought to myself as I kissed her on the forehead. I look at the clock that is just behind my setup. Oh crap, it's already almost one! “Tavi, I’ll be right back. I got to go pick something up from Rar… I mean Ditzy. Is that ok with you?”
“Yes, just make it quick I want to have lunch with you.” She says looking at me with curiosity.
“Thanks.” I quickly make my way through the house and out the front door and begin to run to Rarity’s shop. As I make my way to the Boutique I spot the coolest and the fastest Pegasus in all of Equestria, Rainbow Dash. Along with her is Princess Twilight. Both of them have their wings wrapped over each other. “Hey, Rainbow!” I say as I wave to the two.
“Hey, Vinyl! How's it been?” Rainbow says breaking the embrace with Twilight and walking over to me. As she walks away from Twilight she walks into a library. Of course, but why would Dash go with her?
“I’ve been great. You?” I say as we brohoof.
“It’s been wonderful. Not sure if you noticed but I’m engaged with Twilight.”
“You are?”I ask a questioning look on my face.
“Yeah! We’ve been together for over three years and just last night, in Canterlot, I proposed to her.”
“Wow, congratulations!”I say with a smile that she gladly returns.
“Thanks. You know you and Octavia are more then welcome to come to the wedding.”
“Ok, I’ll let her know.”
“Where are you heading by the way?”
“To Rarity’s shop.”
“For?” She looks at me with curiosity.
“To get the engagement ring for Tavi.” I say with a smile.
“Oh, when are you going to propose?” She asks.
“Tonight at our one year anniversary dinner.”I say happily.
“Wow, I hope it works out well for you two.” She says and pats me on the back.
“Yeah, I hope so too,” I say looking to her now on my right side. “I love her so much and I’m sure she feels the same, but I don’t know if she would want to commit yet.”
“Hey, don’t think that way. Me and Twilight have been together for three years and now we are engaged.” She says to me with smile.
“Yeah, but how am I sure that she won’t say ‘no’.” I say looking at my friend in the eyes.
“She won’t,” she reassures me and puts a hoof over my shoulder. “You two are basically inseparable, she loves you and you love her. And in marriage you two are going to make a beautiful couple.”
“Thanks Rainbow,” she smiles. “I should get going and pick up the ring.”
“Yeah, I’ll see you later, Vinyl.” I wave to her as she flies back to Twilight who has just walked out from the small library. As they make their way back to their castle, I make my way to the Carousel Boutique. As I arrive, I am greeted by a blue pegasus, with an orange mane.
“Hello, and welcome to the Carousel Boutique, my name is Jeri Bear. How may I help you?” He says looking at me with a smile.
“Oh, well, can I ask you if Rarity is here?”
“Oh, she’s here, in the back.”
“Thanks.” I walk to the back of the boutique, and go through to see that Rarity is working on a new line. “Hey, Rarity.”
She turns around with a needle in her magic, “Oh hello darling. Here to pick up your ring?” I nod in response. “Ok, right over here.” She walks over to a counter that has a small blue box on. She picks it up with her magic and she brings it to me. I take it into my magic and open it to see how it looks. I gasp as I open the little box, it is just like I had asked her to make it. It has both my and Tavi’s cutie mark, and the perfect shades of blue and gray. It has a ruby the color of the highlights of my mane.
I look up from the ring and look at Rarity, “It’s perfect. Thank you.”
“Of course, anything for a friend.”She gives me a smile and looks me in the eyes. “Now, you go and make a mare happy.”
“I will.” I say as I walk out the boutique. “Tavi is going to love this.” I say to myself as I start my way home.
After about ten minutes of walking, I finally make it home. As I approach the door I can hear the smooth sound of Cello playing. I open the door and walk in, I place the little box on a dresser by our front door. “Tavi, I’m home!” The music stops and out from our music room, comes my mare.
“What took you so long?” She asks as she walks over to me and starts looking around to see if I brought anything home.
“Oh, I ran into Rainbow and Twilight on the way to Ditzy’s.”
“You did? How are they?”
“Yeah, they’re doing great. Oh, did you know that they are engaged?”
“They are!” She jumps in surprise.
“Yeah, I was surprised too. Three years and they’re going to get married.”
“I can’t believe that they’re going to get married!” She says in disbelief.
“They even invited us already.” I say with a smile.
“Really, that’s great!” She says with a big smile stretching out on her face.
The two of us walk over to the couch and sit next to each other. She leans on me as I put a hoof over her. We look at each other and smile. I hope she’s ready to commit. I can see the love in her eyes. She moves up to me and pulls me into a kiss, as she does so I wrap my hooves around her and hum into the kiss. After what feels like minutes, we break off, smiling. “I love you, Tavi.”
“I love you too.” She says as she leans in closer to me. I wrap my hooves around her and pull her closer to my chest. She hums and snuggles more into me, making me smile.
After some time that we’ve spent on the couch we head to the dining room and have some lunch. We sit and chat for a little, planning a little more for our night out tonight. With only one thing on my mind… I’m going to propose to the mare that is sitting in front of me. I’m so nervous, even though I know she loves me just as much as I do. But, I can’t help but worry about what’s going to happen tonight.
It’s about an hour before our reservation is ready. I’ve already gotten ready so Tavi could have the room to herself as she gets ready. Tonight I decided that I would wear the same suit that I wore on our first Hearts & Hooves Day. It’s just a plain black and white suit, but with the addition of a blue striped tie, similar to my mane. Currently I’m pacing around the outside of our bedroom, nervous as ever. I haven’t been this nervous since my very first performance fithteen years ago in Manehattan with my ex-coltfriend Flare Burn. Yeah, yeah, I’m Bisexual. I wonder how he and Rainbow are doing. I’m glad I have Tavi though. She and Flare changed me life for the better. A year ago, I never thought I would ever find a bond that was similar to the one that Flare and I shared. Yet, here I am about to take my one love out for our anniversary and propose to her. I never thought I would get to this point in my life.
After a few more moments in my thoughts, then I’m broken from them as the door in front of me open and out comes my mare, Octavia Philharmonics Melody. She’s in a unbelieveable dress, one of which really that really compliments her eyes. She smiles as she looks at me, I gladly return the gesture. “Ready, my love?” I ask as she nods in response. I lead her to the door, but before we leave I sneak the little box I got earlier today into one of my pockets.
We make our way to the train station, buy our tickets and get on our way to Canterlot. During the ride, we just snuggled against one another, occasionally kissing. The ride wasn’t too long, but it was nice to be going out with my marefriend. We rarely get times together like this because of our jobs. I usually have late night jobs as she has rehearsal or a performance. It’s something we both hate, but we have to do it.
After a while, we arrive at Canterlot. We hop off the station and get recognized by several ponies. We greet them kindly back and do what they want us to do; signatures, pictures, autographs, etc. We then make our way to the restaurant, Le Poney. We made our reservations about a week before today. We walk up the the hostess at the front. “Hello, welcome to Le Poney! How may I help you?” She asks as she looks over us.
“We’re here for our Reservations.” I tell her.
“Name?” She asks.
“Vinyl and Octavia.” I tell her.
She looks through her list, “Ah, yes. Right this way.” She takes us to a table located by a large stained window. It was a portrait of the Elements defeating Discord. The whole restaurant was decorated with art dedicated to them. I walk over and pulled out Tain's chair.
“Why thank you.” She sits and I push her in. I then take my own seat.
“Your waiter will be right with you in a moment.” The Hostess tells us as she trots away. We both can’t help but stare at one another with a smile on one each other’s faces.
“Yes, Love?” Tavi breaks the silence between us.
“Oh, I’m just admiring the beautiful mare that sits before me.” I tell her with a big smile.
“Such a charmer.” Tavi smiles back at me. She puts her hoof on the table and I meet her’s with my own.
“I love you so much.” I tell Tavi.
“I know you do.” She says back to me.
We both just stare at one another until our waitress comes over to our table. She takes our orders for our drinks and comes back with them. Then we order our food and she trots on to the back to place our orders.
“Vinyl?” Tavi looks at me.
“Yes, Tavi?” I respond back.
“I know this is our one year anniversary, but I can’t help but think that it’s been much shorter than that,” She says as she looks over to me.
“Yeah it does. But, that’s a good thing, right?” I ask her.
“That’s what I don’t know, Vinyl,” She tells me.
“I understand. I sorta feel that way too,” I tell her in which she nods and puts a hoof onto the table. I meet her hoof with my own. We both smile at one another. Soon after our food comes out and we dig in.
A little bit of time has gone by now. We were talking about some upcoming trips we could do. Although, I was in way planning our soon to be honeymoon with her. I really can’t wait to see her reaction. And with all of that in our heads I smile at her. She returns it, her eyes sparkle in the light of the restaurant. After we get our leftovers packed up we walk outside of the restaurant and I take her to a nearby park and take her under a tree that oversees downtown Canterlot, where I first met Tavi. “I remember the first performance of mine that you came to,” Tavi said as she leaned on me.
“As do I. You didn’t even break a sweat up there! You were so calm and collected. Well, and being cute too,” That comment earned me a blush from her.
“T-thanks,” She says as she looks up to me, “You didn’t look to bad yourself.” That made me blush.
“Tavi, close your eyes,” I tell her with nervousness in my voice. She raises an eyebrow, but does it anyway. She feels me as I start to move out of her embrace.
“Vinyl, what are you doing?” She asks with closed eyes.
I get on down on one knee and take out the ring that I got made earlier today. I open the little blue box and say, “Okay, you can open your eyes.”
She does and when she sees me with the tiny box in hoof, she starts to tear up, “Vinyl…”
“Octavia Philharmonics Melody, will you marry me?” I ask her with tears in my eyes as well.
“Y-yes! Yes, I’ll marry you,” She says through tears as I take the band tied around the ring and slip it over her head. She tackles me and kisses me deeply. I return it just as much as she does. Both of us cooing into the kiss, complete bliss running through our bodies. As we both pull away from one another we see that both of our eyes are red from the crying. “Vinyl… I… I don’t what else to say.”
“You don’t need to say anything,” I tell her as she just smiles, still sniffling.
“I love you so much,” She tells me as she nuzzles me.
I hum at the touch, “I know.”
