Celestia yawned as she finished the last of her paperwork. After Candance announced she was having a child there have been thousands of papers to sign. She rubbed her eyes and put down the papers. Her secretary-Who's name isn't known because she wishes to keep it secret-quickly grabbed them up and walked away, bowing down slightly in the process. The mane of the princess was drooped and stopped rippling. Her eyes had bags and dark rings under them. Once again, she yawned.
"Why can't Luna just wake up already?" She whispered. "It's almost time for night..."
She looked at her clock. 5:42 she thought. It was winter, so it wasn't surprising that night came early, but it was almost 6. What the hell Luna? She thought as she sighed. She knew princesses shouldn't use words like that because they set an example, but she was frustrated.
"Good night sister." Luna announced in her royal voice, startling Celestia and making her yelp.
"Luna..You woke up two hours late..." She said sleepily.
"I'm sorry. I was having a wonderful time with Twilight. She was taking a nap and she dreamed about her in some cute soc-"
"I have no need to learn about your 'sexy' dreams with Twilight." Celestia said with a hint of annoyance.
"It wasn't just a 'sexy' dream with Twi. It was se-"
"Knock that..That..That shit off!" Celestia screeched.
Luna gasped and backed up a bit. "Fine..Just..Go away! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU UNDERSTAND ME ENOUGH TO HANG OUT WITH ME!!!"
Celestia thought about Luna as she walked through the castle. She acts like an angsty teen most of the time. Eh. Whatever.
She stopped by the royal masseur's office. he was working on Fleur. He was a purple pegasus with dark blue hair and seemingly magic wings. His name was Feather Touch.
"Give me a sparkling shock and a fire backstab." Celestia said just as he finished.
"Are you sure? It will most likely leave you with unbearable pain in your wings." Feather said with a slight amount of concern in his voice.
"Feather," she hissed as she gave him a sassy sideways glance. "I need this."
Feather Touch sighed and grabbed the special lotion on his shelf that he only uses on the princesses as she lay on the soft bed. She started to relax her muscles as he rubbed it on her horn. He positioned himself on her back and started jabbing his back hoofs at her back right near her wings. His wings were doing an entirely different thing. They scraped against her horn with razor-like attachments. he dipped them in two jugs next to the table filled with jellyfish cream. He started scraping her horn again and he repositioned himself to be closer to her lower back. Celestia let out a small yelp as he jabbed at her spine.
"I know you might damage my wings," She said. "But can you be a little bit careful on my spine?"
"Of course princess! I'm sorry."
Celestia walked through the halls with her wings to the floor. They were limp and numb. She couldn't move them other than a slight shift every once and a while. She rolled her shoulders a bit, loosening them up. She couldn't use magic for another hour so she couldn't teleport to her room. She got to the hall of stained glass. She knew where this was in the castle, but only getting through the castle through teleportation means she didn't know where to go. She turned to a guard that was protecting an empty window frame. The window was previously broken by a raging Minotaur.
Sighing from the thought of more random attacks, she walked off.
She had finally figured out what paths she should take to get through the castle. Just a turn into the nearest secret path and go down the hallway until the third picture exit. She walked down a small staircase, slightly tripping on the way down. She gasped and steadied herself. Whew...That was close...
Celestia took a breath and opened the third exit. A blast of hot, steamy air hit her face. The bathing room, a windowless room with a huge pool of water that pours from large opening in the ceiling. One of Celestia's favorite places in the castle. It was like her sanctuary. The only ponies who knew about it where the princesses and important servants.
She took off her crown and breastplate, feeling the burden of the heavy, gem-crested ornaments taken away. She took off her shoes and relaxed a bit more, feeling her wings slightly awaken from their limp sleep. She felt her magic come back slowly. Celestia stepped into the pool. She let the water seep through her mane, the brilliant shine that had dissapeared, reappeared and irradiated the pool. Celestia clapped her hoofs a few times and the lights turned off. Her mane made the water glisten like there was a thousand stars above. She blew on the water, the sparkles floating up like thousands of fireflies. It was a beautiful sight. She knew that the magic in her mane wasn't able to last forever, so she took a few breaths and stopped, the sparkles dissapearing and reappearing on her mane.
She relaxed some more, breathing deeply. Her magic was coming back a bit faster now, and her wings stretched out. She grabbed a bar of soap and started washing herself, knowing she should probably go to bed soon.
As she continued walking through the halls, Celestia thought about Cadance. She hadn't seen her for months, and she didn't know why. Cadance had always announced important stuff straight to Celestia. Why did she decide to send her a message instead? Celestia shook her head, getting the thoughts out of her mind.
At least I'm not pissed anymore....I wont be yelling terrible words at ponies...
She realized she needed to apologize to Luna. I'll do it when we change shifts.
Celestia snuggled into bed in her silk blankets. She thought about her uneventful day. She had a slight scowl, but started smiling soon enough because she thought of being a great aunt. She started breathing deeply and soon fell asleep.
