Seven had just linked the First Flame. He thought he would not come back from this death. But the Curse sent him to a bonfire somewhere else this time.
Kingseeker Frampt said to link the fire, so that's what Seven did. He thought that in doing so, he would finally be free from the Curse. But Undeath can't be undone and Seven is reborn at a bonfire, though this bonfire is different than the others.
