It began with the sound of knocking.
I blearily rubbed at my eyes, wondering who the hay it was. "Hello?"
The door suddenly flew off its hinges, impacting the wall just above my head. Which, considering the fact that I was still lying down on my bed, indicated that whomever it was didn't particularly care for my safety.
Now jolted awake by the automatic adrenaline surge that accompanied the instinctive fight-or-flight response, I rolled off my bed, then attempted to get up.
Only to suddenly freeze as a harsh voice slashed its way across my hearing, paralyzing me with just one word.
"Creator."
I looked up, to find the last person that I'd ever expected.
Sunset Shimmer.
But not the Equestrian Sunset. Human Sunset Shimmer.
But she wasn't just anyone's Human Sunset Shimmer. She was my Human Sunset Shimmer.
How did I know all of these facts? Because my Human Sunset Shimmer had robotic arms and legs.
Limbs that she now used to pick me up by the throat, her right hand clamping down in a vice-like grip. She lifted me, and I noted with surprise that she was taller than I had envisioned her, as she held me off the floor.
"H-How??" I managed to choke out. Sunset locked eyes with me, her eyes blazing in fury.
"Why should I tell you, Creator?? You never envisioned that we could directly affect your life, did you?"
I knew that I was about to die. Yet despite that, part of my mind was still reeling, going This can't be real. This can't be real.
Then a new voice spoke. "Put him down."
Sunset, without turning, replied with a snarl. "Why should I?"
"Because if you don't, then I will kill you."
"It won't matter if I kill him first. Then you will cease to exist."
"Why do you want him dead?"
As the conversation continued, I frowned in thought, even as I fought for breath. The other voice sounded like Twilight, but the real Twilight would never have threatened someone with death unless all of existence depended on it.
Unless all of existence depended upon it...
I gasped, and not just because I was trying to breathe.
I had missed the next part of the conversation while thinking, so I tuned back in. I took the fact that I wasn't dead yet as a good sign.
"When he dies, I will cease to exist. Then I will have peace."
"Sunset, that's madness."
"No more mad than my life", Sunset stated, her voice boiling with fury.
I closed my eyes. I needed to try something, before Sunset tired of verbally sparring with Twilight.
I reached deep within. To that place where my inner fire blazed, the fire of creativity.
Only to find that I couldn't focus.
I panicked then. I thrashed and flailed, and then, suddenly, I was free.
An inhuman bellow erupted from Sunset's throat. She ran after me, down the hallway that hadn't existed just a moment before.
I could hear the sound of wings, as Twilight chased after Sunset. But I didn't have the luxury of thinking.
I reached down again, to where my creative fire burned. I still couldn't focus.
But that didn't matter.
I threw my mental doors wide, letting the ideas pour out. Jedi Council Member Twilight Sparkle, Time-looping Sweetie Belle, Unit Celestia
