Celestia's Dilemma
Load Full StoryWhat Would Really Happen?
"Please, please let me come with you! I've been waiting my entire life for a moment like this!" I said to Princess Celestia, down to my knees and clutching my hands together. "I've put so many self-inserts into my fan fiction stories, and it would mean a lot to me if-"
Celestia sighed, looking down on me as if I was some pitiful child she wanted to appease. Although I had no idea what she planned to do with me, that wasn't the most confusing thing I've faced today. For one, there's a freaking princess of a make-believe world with mythical powers beyond anything anyone has ever seen in my house. I didn’t even get a warning before she suddenly appeared, stark in my living room without any explanation.
"I've already told you before, I can't do that. It will be too risky if you were to leave your world, as it may give unwanted results if you were suddenly plucked away from the community. Not only that, but our world isn’t ready to be introduced to anything you’ll bring. If you can accept that and move on, it'll make things a lot easier on the both of us," Celestia said, clearly annoyed. “If I could leave right now, I would. But with how close you are to me, I won’t risk returning back, because I might accidentally bring you along in the process.
I tried to pull of the most over dramatic, shocked face I had ever pulled off.
“Hey! Me? I wouldn’t introduce anything! I’d just love and tolerate everypony, and I’d be a good citizen in Equestria, and-”
Celestia looked more and more annoyed by the second. I wasn’t exactly sure why a couple of understandable questions would aggravate someone- er, somepony, but maybe it’s best that I quit while I’m this far behind.
“I won’t say it again. You can’t come with me. Even if you ‘loved and tolerated’ everypony in Equestria, it’s still something that your world came up with. You can’t control what else you’ll bring to the innocent ponies of the land, and I won’t have any of it. I won’t just give you the satisfaction of coming into our world if it poses any risk to the balance whatsoever,” Celestia said sternly. There seemed to be no convincing her.
The whole situation was so confusing. I wasn't a big enough fan of the show to be crying and begging even harder to return to Equestria with her, but I really wanted answers, and heading over to Twilight's home or experimenting with Celestia would give me the answers I need. Well, it still would be pretty sweet to live in that world anyway…
"Come on, I really need to figure out why this happened!" I told her, still showing signs of desperation as I begged.
Celestia sighed again, defeated. Clearly, she was not happy with any of the events that transpired today. To an extent, neither did I, unless this ends up turning in my favour. Then it will be the best day of my life.
"You really want to come with me, and you won’t be happy with anything else?"
I nodded my head rigorously.
"No matter what the consequences may be, and how disastrous the outcome might turn out as?"
I nodded my head again, this time feeling as though it would snap right off with a couple more shakes.
"Well, alright. I've never tried this before, and it may be a little off when I do it. Don't hold me responsible for any injuries you experience!" Celestia finished. There was a mischievous look in her eye, but I simply ignored it when I realized what she meant.
I couldn't believe it. I was about to go to Equestria, with a few new injuries or broken bones, give or take. I'm sure she'd do a fine job, as long as I didn't cause any trouble. She seemed nice enough to allow me to come, so she'd make sure I stay in one piece. After all, she is a kind, benevolent ruler, right?
Her horn began to glow a light, golden colour, and my body began to shiver. This must be the start of teleportation! This was so exciting!
With a flash of white light, I left the relative comfort and safety of my home behind, and discovered a new, colourful world that surrounded me with its brilliance. Everything seemed too… no, wait, nopony was anywhere in sight! Where could they possibly be in broad daylight?
"Celestia! Celestia! Where are you?" I called out nervously. I didn’t want to start my life in this world lost wherever I was.
Her familiar voice called out unintelligibly from below me, on the ground, about a kilometre from where I was standing- er, levitating. It didn’t take me too long to figure out that I was in the air, far from any ground or objects.
She flew up to meet me, and she give me a smile and a distinct wink, taking a quick look at her magical barrier surrounding me. It was then that I realized Celestia was the one keeping me up in the air, preventing me from crashing down onto the ground with this barrier holding me up.
“Don’t worry, I’m just as confused about what happened as you are! Teleporting to your world wasn’t a wholly enjoyable experience. Now, while I go and try to figure out what happened with Twilight’s help, I’ll let you go to the ground so you can go meet the other ponies of Equestria!” Celestia said, pulling off the most light-hearted smile I had ever seen.
Well, at least she would bring me down safely! No broken bones today-
Celestia turned around and flew away, her colour around me slowly disappearing. The ground was getting closer and closer really fast, and it seemed I could do nothing but say one word.
Buck.
