A Heartwarming's Kiss To Remember
Vinyl Scratch walked along the road to her house. She levitated a present with her telekinetic magic. It was for her crush, Octavia Melody, who also happened to be her roommate. Vinyl wanted to finally express her feelings to the elegant mare, and she hoped that the gift would be persuasive enough to bring the two into a romantic relationship. Hopefully. Vinyl couldn't keep in the emotions no longer, and would successfully share her thoughts with Octavia without being judged so.
Nopony knew of this crush, not even Vinyl's closest friends. She had some trust issues, and especially since she crushed on a mare, she couldn't help but have the insecurities that she would be made fun of.
Vinyl hoped desperately that things would go smoothly, but thoughts of failure still wavered in her mind. How would Octavia react to such news? Still, it was Octavia's opinion whenever she liked Vinyl back or not, and if she didn't, the two could hopefully remain friends.
Vinyl gave out a sigh. She could see her breath, as it was freezing out from the snow. To keep warmth, Vinyl wore a magenta colored scarf, a winter hat of the same color, and a dark blue sweater. She didn't have on her sunglasses as she usually did, because they would just fog up. Precisely, what was the point of wearing them at this time?
Finally, Vinyl arrived to her destination, and she entered the house. She saw Octavia bundled up on the couch with blankets, sipping on hot chocolate. Vinyl gave a smile to the mare, and tried her best to hide the gift from her crush.
"Hello, Vinyl." Octavia said. She looked at the DJ and noticed her covered with snow. "How about you get out of those clothes and I can serve you some hot chocolate?"
Vinyl nodded to Octavia. She waited until her friend wasn't looking, then Vinyl quickly hid the present under her bed. Then she stripped of her clothes, and she lay next to Tavi on the couch.
Octavia handed over a cup of chocolate as promised. Vinyl smelled the warm aroma of her beverage, and she took a slow sip. It warmed her up, and relaxation flowed through her.
"Did I make it alright? I-I supposed that you would dislike it. What is your opinion of it? Bad? Good? Mediocre? Do you think I--"
Vinyl put a hoof over Octavia's mouth. 'It's fine,' she mouthed to the mare. Octavia grinned, and removed the hoof from her muzzle.
"Thank you. I'm sorry, it's just I wanted to make our first Heartwarming's celebration together really special. I'm targeting to make everything perfect."
Red flushed over her cheeks. Vinyl chuckled. She thought it was quite entertaining to see her roommate overreact like this. Octavia usually was titled a perfectionist, and she enjoyed making everything in corrective form, even the most smallest details such as now, making the hot chocolate perfect.
Octavia eyed her cup, then made eye contact with Vinyl. "Are you warm?"
'Well, I'm still a little chilly.'
"Well,..." She paused for a moment. "...does cuddling sound bad to you?"
Vinyl blushed. Cuddling? Of course it didn't sound bad to her! She took a deep breath in attempt to stay calm. She bit her lip. After an awkward moment of silence, she smiled at Octavia and scooted closer to her. Octavia allowed her under the blankets. They got into a comfortable position; Octavia head laying upon Vinyl's, the two embracing tightly.
"Are you comfortable?" Octavia asked. She felt Vinyl nod, and Tavi gave a giggle. "Nice to hear."
The two sat in silence and let the minutes go by. Vinyl's heart beat faster and faster, she being happy to be within that very setting; to be lying with her crush. She had promised herself that she would share her feelings to Octavia, and she would succeed in doing so. She just needed to share at the right moment; when the two were close enough to upgrade their relationship. Vinyl started to think about what good that would come from the relationship of her and Tavi. For one thing, the two were both musicians. (Of different types, though. But it never seemed to bother neither of them.) Secondly, they got along though they had alot of differences. And finally, they cared for each other alot. The two helped each other, and worked together through problems. Like the time Octavia accidentally broke her cello, and the two both got paying jobs for a week so they could afford to repair it.
Vinyl personally thought that her and Tavi would be a good couple, though it only being her opinion.
She lifted her head from Tavi's shoulder and looked her in the eye. She bent her ears back, fear going through her. 'I have something to confess,' she mouthed.
"What is it?"
Vinyl bit her lip and gave out a sigh. She could do it. She knew it. Finally, she let it out. 'You see, I developed an interest for you long back. Probably around the time we first met. If you don't feel the same, I'm alright with remaining friends, but if you do, you can confess, too.'
Octavia gave a worried smile. "You can tell me." Her voice was gentle and worrying, giving Vinyl the inspiration to finally do it.
Vinyl blushed. 'I...like...'
Vinyl was interrupted by Octavia's lips making contact with hers. Vinyl's ears perked up and her pupils grew. Foremost, because of the desperation that she had been feeling for a long time...
She kissed right back.
The two moved their lips in perfect rhythm. Vinyl thought that Octavia tasted good, and with that, was a great kisser as well. Vinyl insert her tongue into the mare's mouth.
Vinyl finally decided to quit. She unconnected her muzzle from the mare's, and a string of saliva connected from the each of their muzzles.
Octavia lay her forehead against Vinyl's. "I love you, too."
Vinyl suddenly remembered of the gift she was going to give Octavia. She used her magic to get the present from under the bed, and she sat in in front of Tavi.
Octavia gave a caring grin to Vinyl, and she used her teeth to rid of the wrapper. Inside was a box. She lifted the lid, and inside was a poem. Octavia read it aloud:
"I know I cannot speak any words
But I love you so, and it hurts
Nor can I rhythm well
Can't be real neat
But perhaps, tonight,
We can go out to eat?
Maybe we can get caught under a mistletoe
And you can give me a kiss
Perhaps you will find out

Will you go out with me?"
Octavia gave the DJ a nuzzle. "Well, of course." She gave Vinyl a peck on the lips. "And I actually have a present too."
Vinyl raised an eyebrow.
Octavia held Vinyl's hoof in hers. "I have enough bits to buy concert tickets for that band you like."
Vinyl gasped, then gave Octavia a bear hug, almost smashing a few bones in the mare's body.
Octavia gave a chuckle.
Vinyl lay her head on Octavia's shoulder, and the two cuddled until they eventually fell asleep on the couch.
