The Astral Knight

Silence,thats all there was during the dark days, when the demon lord Darkfire started to rip equestria apart. He had already destroyed half of it in a matter of months. Griffonstone and Cloudscale was no more than smoke and flames. The demon lord had now set his sites on the jewel of equestria, Canterlot, Darkfire  and his army had been moving closer to Canterlot with every passing day. Meanwhile at Canterlots palace three people were at the highest tower  in a room with a large table with a map of equestria laid upon it.

"Sister what can we do he's getting closer and closer day by day dont we have anyways of stopping him?"asked a woman with dark blue hair and a black tiara on her head.

"I dont know luna all the help we needed is gone and i dont think the elements of harmony can save us this time" said the other woman

She had a slim physique and her hair was made up of 3 diffrent colours upon her head was a gold tiara.

Luna turned her head to the third person in the room.

"What about you ,do you have any ideas about how to stop him?" Luna asked hopefully

The man answered with a heavy sigh "No im afraid not princess but princess celestia is right we cant use the elements of harmony, but i might have something that may help its a very powerful spell that only us astral knights can use"

Celestia and luna perked their heads up with hope and intrest

"What  spell did you have in mind?" Celestia asked

"An astral spell" the man answered

"What astral spell could possibly stop Darkfire and will you be able to pull it off Alex ?" Luna asked

Alex lifted his head up his ruby coloured eyes gleaming with confidence met those of the princesses

"Im postive i can do it ill just need time and the spell im going to use is the Astral seal binding  what it dose is freezes the person its casted upon and puts them in a sleep but thats not all it dose it removes their magic and locks the person in the astral dimension i expect it should hold Darkfire " stated Alex

Celestia and Luna turned to eachother and then looked back at Alex.

Celestia sighed "Okay its the best idea we have and it dose sound promising Alex if you can preform this binding spell then you have access to any things you might need to make the spell work"

Footsteps could be heard making their way up the tower steps,Suddenly the door burst open and one of the royal guards enterd the room with a very panicked face.

"Your highness are scouts have reported seeing Darkfires army just beyond the hills outside canterlot we only have about 5 hours before they arrive at our doorstep !" Stammered the guard

Celestias face had a clear look of worry written on it "Tell all guards to be on high alert and prepare for battle and i want them to start going into the city and bring the pepole into the palace, Alex you now only have a short time to ready the spell please hurry and get it ready for when he arrives because i doubt the guards will have a chance against Darkfire himself"

"Right ! I wont let you down princess!" Shouted Alex as he ran past the guard and hurried down the stairs

Luna looked at Celestia "Do you think he can find the spell Tia ?"

Celestia kept her eyes to map and answered " I dont know luna but we must have faith because its all we have left and i believe  in Alex i know hell find it.... he has to"

Alex ran through the corridors of the castle dodging maids and gaurds as they rushed about to complete their orders. One maid fell over normally Alex would have helped but he was in a hurry and needed to fufill his task so he couldn't help her up. So he kept moving on towards his destination.... The library is where he would find it the book he needed.

Once he saw the doors to library just before he crashed into them he skidded to a hault and pushed open the doors and entered.The Library was massive and was filled with equestrias history such as star swirl the beared a very powerful magican.But thats not what Alex needed so he ignored that section and looked for what they had about astral magic he found all the books to do with spells and then proceeded to flick through the pages. In the first book there was nothing so he checked the second.

Meanwhile on the outside of Canterlot Darkfire and his army were drawing nearer

"My lord we are nearly at Canterlot not long before we get there?" Asked the small imp

"Excellent its been a while since we have destroyed a city and its the biggest one of all then i will take  my new castle  then i can finally

Rule over equestria but first we have to kill the princesses im the Lord and master of equestria not them i shall shroud this land in darkness FOREVER!!!"   Shouted Darkfire

Inside the city  there was panic ,people rushing towards the castle all pushing and shoving to get in through the main door.

Inside the libary Alex was having no luck at finding the spell in any of the astral books. He Had already looked through what seemed to be at least ten diffrent books but there was nothing on the spell "Come on its got to be here in one of these books why are ALWAYS librarians around when you dont need them but Never around when you want them !! Screamed Alex furiously

Just as Alex was about to turn the next page he noticed a spell like seal on the page Alex slowly traced his finger along the words on the page and read them to himself "Astral Seal Binding PERFECT! Its what i need"  Alex tore out the page and clenched in his fist and made his way to the exit but there was more writing at the bottom in bold red ink it read 'BE WARNED IF THE FOLLOWING SPELL IS TO BE COMPLETED SAY THE SACRED WORD HOWEVER A SACRIFICE MUST BE MADE FOR IT TO WORK  THE SPEAKER OF THE SPELL SHALLL JOIN TO'

Alex didnt know what it exctly meant but he knew clearly a price was to be paid for this spell.

Suddenly a loud bang and shouts and cries could be heard they were coming from outside in the city square Alex sprinted to the nearest window and looked out at the battle before him . Royal guards were fighting aganst Darkfires demon army both sides were losing lots of soldiers but from where Alex was standing it looked as if Darkfire army was winning "IVE GOT TO GET OUT THERE AND HELP " Alex thought as rushed towards the main exit.

POV - Darkfire

"Ha the weak humans are falling soon the city will be ours and i shall enter my castle kill the princesses and rule, wait who is that knight there"

End pov

Alex had just killed three demons and was advancing forward towards Darkfire with pace , one demon with an two handed axe took a swing at Alex's  head, Alex swiftly slid on his knees and sliced the demons legs clean off, once on his feet again he made his way to Darkfire cutting down every demon  that stood in his path.

(TIME JUMP 1 Hour Ahead)

Alex and darkfire were both on there knees breathing heavily

"I ....will ...not ...be ..defeated ...here" croaked Darkfire

"Yes you will be and your never coming back" Alex said

He reached into his gauntlet and pulled out the piece  of paper and pointed it at Darkfire and read the word to activate it

"ISENGORE!!!"

A large blue portal opened up and started to pull Darkfire in towards it

"NO!, NO! .. NOOOOO !!!!!" Those were the last words of Darkfire as he dissapeared into the portal

The portal then started to pull Alex in.

"Im to .. Weak to ..'cough' .. Get ... Away I guess ... Thats what it meant 'cough,cough' when it said sacrifice.....at least the kingdoms safe "

Alex closed his eyes as the portal pulled him in and then closed. A Guard had watched what had happend to Darkfire and Alex and ran off to tell the princess of the hero who saved equestria but was not comming home with them.
