Prologue
"Be calm, though hell rains upon us all."
Equestria had been peaceful for the centuries it had been alive. Everyone was happy, life was normal, and the best of all, things ran smoothly. Many people started to develop a certain type of... Disease? This disease caused uncontrollable paranoia, which could result to suicide. The cases were very small, and occurred only in the more poorer districts of Equestria. The disease wasn't really noticed until Celestia gotten ill to the disease. The overwhelmingly powerful magic inside her combined with the disease, causing it to evolve. Not only did it cause suicide, but the disease itself could be lethal, and symptoms became much worse.
Major blistering on the faces and body, rashes, and swelling in the neck. The viru was known to be the “Anarchy Causer”. After all, it had killed Celestia. After the death of Celestia, Equestria fell into anarchy, buildings being ripped apart, death toll too high in numbers. Not only did pony-kind have the disease to worry about, but, for the first time in forever, no one, even friends could be trusted. Often, ponies turned insane, others killed to survive. No matter what anyone could do, things would never be the same. Violence was common, and order was rare. Though, you might think the end of the world was upon them, and it might as well be, a few factions, as you may call it, stood up to bring order to a place they used to call home.
Osiris Delta, a more advanced faction, using prototype weapons, and Exo-Suits, led by Princess Luna, devoted to helping out ponies in need.
The Deathbringers, a psychopathic order. Leaders are unknown, but their motivation is widely known across Equestria. Kill all ponies, even their friends if they have to.
And the Sunshine Dominion, led by the so called: “Celestia Reborn.” They “shed light” and crushes Deathbringers and Osiris Delta troops.
With help of only themselves, these troops must fight to survive. May these ponies survive as they are let into the primitive aftermath of Equestria.
Act One: Damn Simulations!
Act One: Hail the Osiris Delta!
"You better do what we say."
I gazed upon the worn torn land from my safe perch from Watch Tower. Posters aligned the halls. "We are Triumphant Once Again!" read a sign with Princess Luna saluting. I sighed. When will I ever go back into combat again? I raised a hoof, then the other, stretching, and yawning simultaneously.
You should quit your job. Oh wait, you can't.
Shut up, head.
I grabbed a cup of coffee taking a sip, and walking away from the massive window. The loudspeakers echoed through the halls. It was Luna. "Everyone grab your combat gear, and go to Atrium C-Sector 3 for an announcement." Luna's voice sounded in despair. What was going on? I obeyed, running to my room, and grabbing my combat suit for the announcement.
"As some of you may know, the Sunshine Dominion has been attacking our bases heavily with heavy combat troops. I have reason to believe these troops will put up a threat to our ground forces. We will need to act immediately." Luna said, looking over the bundles of troops. "And we will act. As of now, all of our troops will attack the fortress. When we win, our major opposition will be crushed and will be crippled beyond repair for some time. Do you understand?" Luna didn't wait for a response. "Good, mount the mechs and get on your exo-suits. Move it!" We all saluted. "You, Captain Scarlet Shadow!" I jerked around. "Yes, ma'am?" Luna gazed upon me. "After you get your exo-suit on, you can come sit up with me, and help lead the invasion." I smiled. "Yes, ma'am!" Combat has finally come.
I put on my exo-suit, and sat down with Luna. "All to respect, but I don't think I'm read for this." I said with a gulp. "Don't worry, you will be." Luna said, giving me a kiss on my head. I blushed and obeyed. Always obey isn't it? That was the manner of the Osiris Delta.
The control room we were in had many dazzling screens displayed all around us. I jerked left and right. We got bird's eye view of the battlefield. Luna yelled, "Send in frontal global artillery!" A few minutes later, shells started to rain down on a giant metal fortress. "Your turn," Luna mumbled to me. "Drop-craft A, B, and C, unload, and head to cover!" I yelled. A few minutes later, exactly that happened. "Mech units A and C, provide support for the troops on the ground, while Mech unit B flanks from the right." Luna giggled. "Your a real strategical master." I nodded, and continued to issue out orders.
"Drop-craft D, E, and F, flank from the back! Drop the troops and find cover as well!" Luna giggled again. "Minimum casualties, very good!"
Sweat dropped down my face. Dammit, the fortress is very heavily defended. "Send spec-ops commandos on the roof of the fortress! I need the commandos to plant bombs on the heavy defenses!" Luna now was cracking up. "This is so fun!" She said, laying down facing up, hind legs straight up in the air. "Your such a tough mare!" I started to laugh while concentrating. This was fun, but I needed to win. By the time the bombs were placed, and the heavy defenses exploded, all the remaining troops we had flooded in.
Simulation Over
"OVER ALREADY?" I complained. Luna laughed, "You did well, Scarlet. You ignored all the things I was doing and concentrated hard. Your a true soldier." I let out an awkward laugh and sighed. "Now what do I do?" Luna let out moan, which was kind of weird. "I have to speak to you about something." Luna said. Then she eyed the guards, "In private..."
She brought me to a room, with metal, sound-proof walling installed. "I am assigning you to a solo-mission. You will need to collect data... In Equestria itself. Don't worry your up to the task. You will be equipped with your exo-suit, and a modified Carbine. Sidearms and night-vision will be provided. A personal mech is on standby for any extra assistance." I kind of curled into a ball onto the floor. "Uh... Wouldn't I get into fights a lot... You know..." Luna put her hoof up into the air to silence me. "I was just getting to that. You will have a cloak to blend in with the population. Body armor will be under the cloak."
You mean, if there is a population?
Shut up, head.
"I'll do anything to serve the Osiris Delta, ma'am." I said, quoting what we should say in the handbook.
Luna giggled. "Just call me Luna, it's fine."
I nodded, running to my room in excitement. I grabbed my uniform and my body armor from the rack in my room and ran to Drop-Off Room F. I put my nicely fitting exo-suit on, along with the cloak. I entered the pod to Equestria, with my Red and White mane trailing behind me. This mission wasn't exactly the hardest, but oh stallion, was I nervous.
