I get up, and see a purple unicorn... wait, no, an alicorn! 'An... Alicorn? How drunk am I? Wait... I'm not drunk...' She's just standing there, obvious shock in her face, one of her hooves covering her mouth, with a baseball bat hovering next to her. Before I can even start to think about my situation, I pass out, the last thing I hear is hoof steps coming closer. I wake up to a rather soft bed underneath me. With some struggle, I sit up on the bed, and look around... I see a small, purple, baby dragon with no wings and blunt-ish green scales, who is easily identifiable as Spike, with a worried expression on his face. And the same purple allicorn from earlier, Now identifiable as Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship, who I admired. She had the same expression as Spike, but more curious. After gazing at both of them for a minute or so, I got off the bed and stood up, I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my legs, which caused me to make a very, VERY pained face. It seemed to have been transferred from my head. I then shouted "OW!" Before I could really say much else, Twilight said "Oh dear, you're injured. you should just lay down for now." with a worried tone. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you until we can arrange something." she quickly added. "To be honest, I'd like to just stay for a bit." A slight smile appeared on my face after I said that. "Why, don't you have a home to go to?" She was confused. Which I must admit, was kind of cute, which I am a bit ashamed of. "Not much back home for me." my smile was getting slightly bigger now, although there was some doubt in the back of my mind. "What, why not?" she was even more confused now. "My parents are gone, school is almost over, and it sucks. Plus tomorrow is a Monday anyway." "What do you mean school sucks?" She'd now started to look curious, with a hint of anger. "Well for one, the homework is hard, and I don't have my parents to help me." I knew almost anything she could throw at me would be dealt with. "I could help you with the homework." I could tell she was nicer than I thought. "How? We're like, a dimension away. Plus you're fictional, and who says your language is like mine?" I was now prepared for her to rage at the idea of her being fictional. "How am I fictional?" "you're a character from a TV show." I knew holding back the truth or going more in-depth would cause a long conversation. or even worse, an argument. "A TV show?" She had a curious look now. "Yeah, a TV show." "OK then, if I really am a fictional character from some random TV show, what's my name?" "Its Twilight, Twilight Sparkle." I say as i smirk as if i proved her wrong. "What about my friend here?" She said, pointing at Spike. "Spike." "Oh, and as for your other friends" "Your friends each represent an element of harmony." I then prepared for a list. "There's Rainbow Dash, the element of loyalty." "And Applejack, the element of honesty." "Then there's Fluttershy, the element of kindness." "Rarity, the element of generosity." I looked at Spike, he seemed a bit shocked. "Pinkie Pie, the element of laughter." I was now starting to run out of breath. "And last, but in absolutely no way least. you, the element of magic." After a while, Twilight finally said "OK, all you've proven so far is that you are creepy." 'Let me just answer a few more questions before she asks.' "This place is called Equestria." "And this town is called Ponyville." "Oh and there are four rulers, all of them princesses." I then prepared for another list. "There's Celestia, who raises the sun." "Luna, who raises the moon." "Cadence, who protects the Crystal Empire." "Then there's you, the princess of friendship." "OK, that's pretty good proof, but I'm still not sure I believe you." She now had a smile on her face. "Because anypony could find that out easily by simply reading a couple of books." "So to prove I'm from a TV show, what was my old home?" She had said this in a kind of way that made me think this was the last question I had to answer. "Well, sadly, your old home was destroyed during your battle with Tyrek." "It was the Golden Oak Library. and before you lived there, you lived in Canterlot's library." I added more thorough detail as it was the last question. "Well then, I guess I could be from a TV show, because if you're a stalker, I don't see why you'd know I fought tyrek, or why you'd appear out of nowhere." Twilight had finally come to an end. "Told you." I finished, with a rather large grin on my face. Author's Note Fun fact: This chapter has had a LOT of changes, most of which were made to get this story published. chapter 3: A good readI'd found a good book and had been reading it for an hour or two when Twilight walked in. I said "hi", getting her attention. "Oh, hi. found a good book yet?" "Yep" "Which one?" "Equestria 101" "Good choice. I bet that the show doesn't really tell you much about equestria in whole, am I right?" "Yeah, but I've only gotten to the 3rd chapter" "Well trust me, the information gets more and more usefull as you read through it" "Thanks for the heads up, I really needed some motivation to keep reading" "Well then, I'll just be going now" before she left she picked up a book "See ya" "bye" And at that she left the room, leaving me alone to read the book (an hour later) I'd read through to chapter 7 and had started to get a bit bored, so I found a bookmark, put it in the book, and decided to come back to it later. I went to the living room and sat down, I looked around and saw twilight reading the book she picked up before "hey twilight" "hi" I looked at the book she was reading before saying "you read that one before?" She seemed a bit surprised, but she hid it well, saying "I've only ever got half way through. everytime I've tried to read it there was some disaster or a special event" "seems pretty unlucky" "yep, but now I finally have some peace and quiet" "well, have fun with that book, I'll just be getting some food" after that I got up and went to the kitchen to get more apples (another hour later) After Twilight finished her book, we began talking for a bit about earth and humans, Twilight also mentioned how she cast a portal spell linked to the human world. She also mentioned how she had read that humans are like magic-less, bipedal ponies After a bit I asked Twilight how her life has been "well it's pretty good, considering I'm a Princess living in a giant castle with great friends and special rainbow powers" "But other than that I haven't heard from my parents since I became a princess, and celestia stopped teaching me, so I don't talk to her much. " "Wow" "what? Haven't you been watching the TV show you told me about?" "I have been, but I didn't know you weren't talking to your parents... Plus the fact that your life is way better than mine" "speaking of your life." "oh. Well my parents Call me every three hours to check if I'm OK. And I have too deal with the rent. "call? So you have phones?" "yep" "so you talk to your parents often?" "no, I just send them a message saying I'm OK " "Message? Why not call them back?" "Because... Well, I don't know." "I mean If I called them, they would just talk and talk and talk." "Well at least you message your parents. I don't talk to mine at all." "Maybe you should visit them, since you have some free time now." "What about you? I wouldn't want to leave you here alone" "Why don't I come with you? I'd love to meet your parents face to face." "Do you even know their names?" "Twilight Velvet and Night Light" "Ok, fine, you can come with me to meet my parents." She quickly blushed a bit and added "As a friend of course." "Of course" At that point I started to think: 'What will they think of me?' 'Will they think I'm a monster?' 'Will they think me and Twilight are in a relationship?!' I chuckled at that last thought 'Well I'd hope to make that true... Later, much later' Then I heard Twilight's voice, breaking me out of my trance of thought "Hello, you ok?" "Huh, wha, oh." "Sorry, I was just thinking" "You should get ready to go, if you're not packing then you can help me pack." "Ok, what do you need help with?" "Everything." Author's Note In this story ponies have technology like phones, but not the internet, just to make sure you know. Also I'll answer any questions you might have as best as I can, just comment. Chapter 4: packing upI had been helping Twilight pack for, what? Seven hours? Anyway, my point is it's late and she has 5 bags, perfectly packed and organised (mostly because she organised them like 20 times... Each!), and is FINALLY ready to go. (Later at the train station) I had started staring at pretty much anything on the way here, and was still doing so as we arrived at the train station, which I didn't notice. "Excited to see Canterlot up close?" I stopped as I Heard Twilight's voice, and then responded "Oh, well, of course. What kind of person, or pony I guess, wouldn't be excited." "Ok so before we get there, quiz... Again." "Ok, bring it on." "My parents names?" "Twilight Velvet and Nightlight" "What to tell them if they ask if we're in a relationship?" "Nope, we're just friends" As the quiz continues on, I think about the second question she asked me, "friends"? I intend to change that... Later, much later "Ok that should be it" I look out the window and see we're about to arrive, so I decide to say "Perfect timing" "Oh, good" She said looking out the window "So this is our stop?" "Yep, follow me" she said, with a kind of joyful tone, it was easy to tell she was happy to be here, but also kind of happy she got to know more than someBODY else. "Lead on" We walked for a bit until everywhere we looked was white, fancy looking marble houses, shops and towers (ALOT of walking later) Me and twilight had been walking for what seemed like hours, my legs were killing me, and I had stopped looking at the various buildings and ponies we passed by, simply focusing on following twilight. We came to the edge of town and stopped at a house on the corner of the street. "Here we are, ready?" "Is there a soft object to sit on?" "Yes" "Then yes, I am definitely ready." She giggles and says "you're funny sometimes, you know that?" "I would say thanks, but I can barely stand up." "Ok, fine" she says, knocking on the door of the house a muffled voice comes from inside the house saying "One second" The door opens to a mare who is obviously more than a bit surprised "Hi mum" "Twilight?! What are you doing here?" "I'm not dreaming, right?" "Well you can't feel pain in a dream" as Twilight says this she lightly hits Velvet, just hard enough to cause a small amount of pain. "Ow..." "Anyway, what brings you here?" "Well, my friend over there suggested I come to see you while I have some free time." She points to me as she says this "Hi" I manage to say, awkwardly. "Hello, what's your name?" She stops as she takes a good look at me "what are you?!" Twilight walks to my side and faces velvet before saying "I knew this would happen. mum this is Johnathen, he's a human" "A... Hue-min?" "It's actually pronounced hue-man" "Ok, so you brought a weird alien creature named Johnathen to my house, should I be happy?" "He's not a creature, he's just like any other pony, but on two legs and without magic" "Ok well, um, hello... Johnathen" "You can call me John" "Ok, well make yourself at home, I'll go and make some tea for the three of us" "Oh, John, would you like black tea or-" "White, please" "Ok, shouldn't take too long" she says as she starts walking away "Thanks" she leaves the room after I say this "Well, she's certainly nice." "You didn't know that?" "Your parents never talked" "Is it just me and all the other main characters that talked?" "Well recently the background ponies started talking, even having their own episode" Before Twilight could say anything, Velvet came back into the room with three cups of tea Velvet placed the cups on the table in front of me and Twilight, then sat opposite of us and began drinking What came next was something I didn't really want to answer "So, John, how much do you know about Twilight?" Chapter 5: parents...The room was silent for a while once Velvet asked her question, but The silence was broken when Twilight answered. "Well I don't think that's really important, right?" "Well I'd like to know how much your, uh, man friend, knows about you." "Actually, from what he's told me, it's boyfriend, not man friend, but I've only known him for one or two days, so I might not be rig-" Twilight is cut off by Velvet as she speaks up. "Wait, you mean to tell me you're in a relationship with someone you meet one day ago?!" When Velvet said this, I spoke up as fast as my mouth would let me. "No, we're just friends." "Oh, good, because if you were in a relationship with some weird, alien 'human' thing after one day, then I'd be seriously worried for your safety." Velvet's word are directed towards Twilight. "Weird alien thing, really?" I said, quite offended. "Sorry, I forgot you were there, and that you have feelings and emotions, like ponies." Velvet was obviously a bit embarrassed from forgetting such a thing. "It's ok, I kind of expected you to say something like that." "Have you been saying bad things about me and Night Light?" Velvet had now turned to Twilight, and had gotten a slightly angry and worried tone "No,no, I guess he's just really worried." "But speaking of Dad, where is he?" "Oh, well he's out at work right now, he'll be back soon." "Well we should be able to stay until he's back, right?" "Well if Velvet's ok with me staying, I don't have anything else to do, seeing as I'm in a completely different world" "Well of course you can stay, anypony who's friends with Twilight is friends with me." "Or is it any human?" "It's ok, I understand what you're saying even if you don't say anybody." "Well please, make yourself at home." "Thank you." (An unspecified amount of time later) "So wait, me and Night Light never talked in this show?" Before I could answer Velvet, a knock on the door interrupted our chat. Velvet got up and went to open the door almost instantaneously. As Velvet opens the door a stallion walks in obviously tired but happy to see Velvet. "Hi, honey." "Hi, de-" "Hi dad" "Twilight?! When did you get here?" Twilight quickly answered to avoid being cut off "Not to long ago, and before you go crazy, this is Johnathan, he's a human, humans are like ponies, but without magic and on two legs instead of four." As Twilight said this she pointed to me. "Oh, ok, well hello there Johnathan "Please, call me John." "Ok, well hello John." "And before you ask, we're just friends." "Good, I was a bit worried there" 'Well that went by better than expected' I thought as Night Light came to sit opposite to us "I'll make some coffee for you." "Thank you, dear." (About 2 hours later) Velvet had come back with Night Light's coffee a while back and was now making dinner. "So it's really true? Me, Velvet and even Twilight, we're all from some tv show?" "I know it's hard to believe, but it's the only logical explanation." "What if he's a stalker?" "He came out of nowhere from a portal that I made a while back, and then he passed out, if he was a stalker, why'd he just decide to blow his cover? Plus the fact that he's human, there are no other humans in equestria, or even beyond equestria." "How do you know he wasn't a unicorn that cast some spells?" "Because the book that contained the spell and information about the human world that I had is the only one in existence, and it's under the highest level of security." "Ok, so he's an alien from another dimension who's been watching us on tv and knows way too much about us." "When you say it that way it sounds kinda crazy." "Well that what I've be-" "Hang on, I think dinners ready." "You'd be right." "Hope it smells as good as it tastes." Velvet had come over to the table me, Twilight and Night light sit at and placed down some kind of vegetarian pasta or something. Before anybody could say anything Velvet had gone to the kitchen and come back with four plates and some utensils. "Ready to eat?" "I've been ready since I finished work." "Then let's get started." At that Velvet placed the four plates and sets of utensils on the table and sat down. Twilight, Night Light and Velvet all levitated the utensils up and had started eating. So I grabbed a fork and dug in. (Later, after everybody had finished their food.) "That was better than I expected it to be, that might just be the best dinner I've ever had." "I'm sure you've had much better meals." Velvet blushed a bit from my comment "I mean it, that's some good cooking." "Well thank you." Velvet then grabbed all the plates and utensils with her magic and went to the kitchen to clean them. "Well it looks like we'll have to stay the night, because there aren't any trains going to pony ville this time at night." "Of course if you're ok with John staying here that is." "Ok, you two can stay, but you'll have to sleep in the same bed, there's only two beds in this house." "It's ok, I can sleep on the couch." "Well what do you think Twilight?" "It's ok if he sleeps in my bed, as long as he doesn't snore too loud." "Ok then, it's settled, you're sleeping in Twilight's old room." "Goodnight." "Goodnight..." At that Night Light went upstairs to his bedroom. "So you're seriously ok with me sleeping with you?" "Well you've been pulled out of your universe, had your leg injured, and had to go through an awkward meeting with my parents. I think it's the least I can do." "Thank you." After I said this, Velvet came into the room and went upstairs saying "goodnight." Then me and Twilight got up and went to her old room. Author's Note I really didn't want to write this, but I had to do something, and it seemed fitting. Chapter 6: bed...It's been a bit too long since I went upstairs, and the awkwardness of the situation isn't helping me snap out of my hypnotised state. I'm currently standing at the doorway to, what I would assume to be, Twilight's room. I'm just staring at the room with a blank face and wondering if the bed truly is big enough, which I hope it is. I'm not gunna say anything... And I'm not gunna let my mind run wild, but the bed does look a bit cramped. I hope Twilight's isn't fighting off as many thoughts as me, That's the last thing I need on my mind. My train of thought is cut off as Twilight speaks up saying "I have grown a bit, but it should be fine. As long as you keep to your side." "So we have sides now?" "Well of course we have sides, how would we have any privacy without sides?" "Oh, I don't know, maybe fit on the bed?" "Ha ha, very funny, now come on, we've got a lot to talk about tomorrow." "you know, I can still sleep on the couch, or even not sleep at all. it doesn't make much difference, I'm always tired, to the point where if I'm not tired, I'm hyperactive." "No, no, it's fine. it can't be that bad, right?" "Ok, I hope you don't snore though." "Well? What are you waiting for? Get in!" Twilight got into bed as she said this "I just gotta clear my mind, hey do you have a notepad or something?" "In the desk over there." Twilight points to a desk in the corner of the room as she says this. "Thanks." At that I went over to the desk, took out a notepad and quill, dipped it in ink, and began writing some stuff down. not important stuff, just some stray thoughts. (Later, in bed (no, not like that (wait 6 chapters or so. (Inception)))) 'Let me just go over this one more time. Twilight sparkle actually exists, she has allowed me to meet her parents and she has now allowed me to sleep in the same bed as her. I think I'm insane, but I can't tell.' I then stopped thinking about my situation, and looked around. "This is crazy, it's completely insane." I said, mainly to myself "So why am I so easily accepting it?" This time I was actually asking the world around me for an answer. "I don't know right know, and I might never know unless I get to sleep. Now go to bed." "Haven't you noticed? I'm already in bed." I chuckled a little at that "Then go to sleep." Twilight was obviously a bit agitated, which made me smile a bit. 'Why is she so adorable when she's angry?' '...really brain? "Adorable"? I think I've actually lost it.' I decided to just go to sleep and think about my current mental state in the morning. (much (much later) later) (reference)(five points if you get it) "Hey." "Get up!" "Hello?" "Whaaaa..." "What time is it?" I asked in the most annoyed and tired voice I have ever used. I then looked out the window to see the moon just about setting. "About 3 in the morning." "3... In... The morning..." "Seriously?" "Not a morning person?" "Not... A morning person... Indeed." "What day is it?" "Monday, Why?" "I'm not a Monday person either." "So this is probably gunna be a bad day." "Just get up and get ready." "...arghhh...Fiiiine..." (About half an hour later.) "Sooo... What's for breakfast?" I asked, then literally hearing my stomach screeching for food. "Knowing my mother, she's probably already got it covered." "Sooo... No idea?" "No idea." Twilight then proceeded to walk out of the room and downstairs, closely followed by me. "Morning, Twilight." "Morning." "What's cooking? Smells nice." "The usual." "Soooo... Pancakes?" "Pancakes." "I envy you and your pancake eating ways." "Ever had pancakes before?" "Yeah, but only for special occasions really." "I pity you and your non pancake eating ways." "Haha." "Very funny." "Very funny indeed." "Well aren't you the most original pony in Equestria." "Well you can talk." "Again. Haha, very funny." Author's Note Just so you know, I write John as if he was me, John is like my alternate self. But that doesn't mean he acts exactly like I would, he is still his own person. Also, I would just like to add the fact that John and I have two thing that perfectly line up. Our hate of the morning, and Monday's. Chapter 7: A longer, larger tourAfter eating pancakes, discussing the day, and being annoyed by the fact it is monday, Me and Twilight decided to take a quick tour around Canterlot. Well, not quite quick. In fact, Canterlot is so big, that the tour will last all day, but I didn't mind. Twilight and I headed out towards our first location, the heart of the city, the castle. While walking I found that I had a question clinging to my brain. "So exactly how big is the castle?" "Well, based on what you've said you've seen, about triple the size you've seen." "Damn, that's one big castle." "For two ponies at least." "The princesses and the guard, plus the throne room." "Don't you think it's a bit big though?" "Well don't say that to the princesses, it'd be pretty bad if you just arrived then got sent back home with cuts and bruises." "Point taken. Another question, how long did it take to build?" "I've never really thought about it." "Well how about this." "Take the size, the details, the workers and the material, and figure it out like the smart pony you are." Twilight blushed a bit when I said that. "I'm not that smart." "Seriously? You actually think that? You're the smartest pony I know about!" "But you know about princess Celestia." "The one that calls you and your friends whenever she has a problem? The one that failed to beat chrysalis? The one that let herself get captured by tyrek? And again, she always calls on you and your friends." "Ok, you've got a point there." "But seriously, you are the smartest pony I know, not to mention how beautiful you look." I covered my mouth quickly, after realizing what I just said. Twilights blush got deeper "You... Really think so?" I took my hand off of my mouth and responded. "Well, uh, yeah." Twilights blush got even deeper than before. "...Thank you." Twilight looked away slowly as she was saying that. However, not too long after she looked away, she looked back up again. "Oh look! The castle." Twilight sped up her trot at the sight of the castle. (Later, in the castle) "Well this is... Big..." I said, looking around at the massive entrance room. "You get used to it." Twilight replied "Have you seen the whole castle?" "Most of it, but I haven't seen the east-most halls yet, or the very top of the castle." "Well now I have a good sense of scale. And this castle is REALLY big." "You're funny." "...Thanks. Not many people tell me that, people say I'm not funny, and I don't really try to be." "Seriously though, you have your moments." "You've known me for about a day and a half, so taking that into consideration, that means a lot." "Oh, that reminds me." "Thank you." "For what?" "If you hadn't have been here, and done what you had, I wouldn't have seen my parents for a while." "Don't thank me, thank yourself for your own thoughts." "You are a good example for other males." "Well... That was unexpected." "But, seriously, you're funny, selfless, and as far as I can tell, pretty smart." "Thanks, Twilight." "Don't thank me... Thank your previous statements." "Do you have any original jokes?" "Nope!" Twilight was now constantly giggling lightly. "Oh come on, surely somepony as smart as you can come up with at least 5 new jokes a day." I said, and I meant it quite literally. "Seriously?" She asked, not yet realising my seriousness. I simply stood there and stared at her. "Your serious? Aren't you?" Twilight seemed to have finally noticed the seriousness behind my statement. "Yes, yes I am." I replied, happy that she finally noticed. "Well, actually, now that you mention it." She paused and thought for a bit. "What do you call an alien with a fantastic sense of humour and a flattering vocabulary?" "I dunno, what do you call it?" "Johnathan." I stopped everything I was doing, I stopped thinking, moving and... Well I just. Stopped. "Um, are you, are you alright?" Twilight asked with confusion. Twilight's voice broke me from my trance-like state "oh, uh, yeah, I'm fine, I just, didn't quite, you know, expect that, after like, two days." "Well I just couldn't resist after you've shown me such kindness" Twilight said, with a kind, caring smile. "Well I kind of had to. I mean, you let me stay around after appearing out of nowhere, you gave me food, and have shown me nothing but kindness, more so than I have." I said, slightly shocked she hadn't noticed it herself. "Well anypony would have done it, if queen chrysalis were to show up at my door, begging for me to take her in after her hive was destroyed, I would, I mean, I wouldn't leave her out in the cold." Twilight said, emphasising the fact that she would do it for queen chrysalis. "But how about we talk about this later, we have a princess to talk to." "Ok, but we will definitely be talking about this later." Chapter 8: The Royal duoSomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Chapter 9: The beggining of something new?Suddenly, I felt lips upon my own, I was being kissed. It was the best feeling I've ever felt. just for a second, I felt as if I had new meaning, more reasons to live. Overall, I felt that my life just got about ten times better. Eventually, I closed my eyes and embraced the kiss. Eventually, the kiss broke and I opened my eyes to stare into Twilight's eyes. Those beautiful, purple eyes, which were looking straight back at me. Soon after the kiss broke, both of us turned away and blushed. "Did we just?" Twilight asked, shocked by her own actions. "Yes, we did." I answered, looking back at Twilight. "I'm sorry, you're probably so embarrassed." Twilight apologized. "Twilight." I said, putting my hands on either side of her head. "That was amazing, it was the best thing that's ever happened to me." I said, looking into her eyes. Twilight's eyes were staring right back at me, I could feel her breath against my skin. Suddenly, Twilight kissed me again, breaking from my grasp. I wasn't too surprised, I embraced it as soon as it started, my hands moved to the back of her head and back as her hooves gently draped over my shoulders. After an amazing couple of minutes, the kiss slowly broke. My hands and Twilight's hooves eventually returned to their original positions. Twilight smiled at me and I smiled back. We sat there, staring at each other, for another couple of minutes before Twilight said something. "It's late, we should get to bed." Twilight said, breaking the silence. "Oh, uh, yeah." I replied, standing up and starting towards the bedroom. (The next morning. (Nothing else really happened that night.)) "Morning." I said, looking at Twilight as she started to wake up. "Morning. How come you're up before me?" Twilight asked, getting up and fixing up the bed. "Because you were moving around in your sleep and mumbling." I answered, somewhat worried. "I was having a really good dream." Twilight replied. "What was it about?" I asked, curious. "It may or may not have been about you." Twilight answered, blushing. "Why am I not surprised?" I asked, blushing. "Maybe because you were dreaming of me?" Twilight said, emphasizing "you" and "me". "I'm not sure if I like it when you talk like that or not." I said, followed by a thought. 'Joking in the early morning? I must have had a really good night.' (Later in the day. (Again, nothing much happened.)) "At least we know where to go now." I whispered to myself and anyone near me, which happened to include Twilight. "Yeah, I can't believe I forgot how to get around." Twilight replied, sighing and continuing down a long hall in the general direction of the throne room of the castle. "I know right? It's only been, like, way too long." I joked. 'Joke spree!' I thought, following my comment. "You really are just this funny, aren't you?" Twilight said, lightly giggling. "What?" I asked, completely and totally confused. "I was reading your thoughts to see if you were trying to act funnier than you really are to impress me or something." Twilight explained. I kept walking, staying completely silent, my face blank as I thought. 'Why? No seriously, why?' "Because I don't know if human brains think differently than ponies, or if you have any other reason for being as funny as you are. Turns out you're just really funny." Twilight said, responding to the thought she just read. "Stop, get out of my head. Also, thank you." I said, slightly annoyed and slightly creeped out at the same time. "Ok, ok, fine." Twilight replied, her horns glow stopping, though I hadn't noticed it was glowing in the first place. "Seriously, how are you supposed to make a good story with drama and romance if there are no secrets." I said, joking of course. (Or was he?) "What?" Twilight asked, obviously confused. "It was a joke. I think." I replied, feeling weird. "Wait, you think it was a joke?" Twilight asked, even more confused. "Just forget about it, even I'm confused." I said, confused, as I had said. "Ok, I'll forget about it. For now." Twilight said, looking at me. "Good enough for me." I replied, happy to leave it until a better time. "The throne room is just up ahead, you ready?" Twilight asked, attempting and succeeding to remove tension, then adding a small amount back. "Yep, I'm sure they decided on yes, right?" I said, slightly nervous. "Hopefully. I would hate to have them make you leave after last night." Twilight said, looking at me and remembering the events that took place last night. "I'd hate to leave." I said, obvious worry in my voice as I walked through the doorway as Twilight opened the doors. "Hello Twilight, hello Johnathan." Celestia greeted us, staring at me, almost angrily. Author's Note That was fast in more ways than one. (O_O) I'm back! I'll be trying my best to spend more time on writing now, since people actually read this. Speaking of which, thank you for reading this, hope you enjoy. Bonus chapter: The throne room (7-8)After a long time walking around, me and Twilight finally walked into the throne room. Princess Celestia was sitting on her throne with another smaller, empty throne to her side. "Twilight. Good to see you, I hope you have been well. Who's this?" Celestia asked as she looked and motioned towards me. "This is Johnathan, he came here through a portal that I had created in an attempt to study other worlds." Twilight answered. "I see. What exactly is he?" Celestia asked, examining me carefully. "He is a human." Twilight answered. "So, what is it like where you come from, Johnathan?" Celestia looked to me, curious. "Oh, well, where I come from there's not magic, though my species has managed to build many amazing pieces of technology. We've made machines capable of connecting to a global, ever expanding network called the Internet. We can upload videos, pictures and various other things to the Internet, from which anyone else, with a computer, can view or discuss it." I answered, looking to Celestia only to see her seemingly shocked by this information. "Twilight, do you think you could recreate the spell? I would like to try it for myself. This world sounds rather remarkable and I would like to see it first hoof." Celestia looked to Twilight, hoping she could. "Yes, I do believe so. When would you want it?" Twilight asked to Celestia. "As soon as you possibly can." Celestia replied. "I will have it done shortly, is there anything else you want?" Twilight looked to Celestia, waiting for an answer. "No, you may go, if you wish, thank you for coming." Celestia said, smiling. "Talk soon." Twilight said as she walked out of the throne room with me following. Author's Note This is something I was thinking about for a while, don't worry, chapter 10 is coming soon, I just wanted to get a little something out so that no one gets bored. Prologue: a walk home (Optional, for character introduction.)Author's Note please note that this is my first story, so I'm sorry about the chapters being tiny Prologue: a walk home (Optional, for character introduction.) My name is Johnathan, but my friends call me john, my parents do too... Or at least they would, if they were still around. But back onto the subject of me. I am a gamer, and a brony. Right now I am walking home from school down the usual path. While I'm walking, a giant dark purple portal thing popped out of nowhere. At that point in time I begin to have a mental argument with myself 'I should go through it.' 'What if it's dangerous?' 'It's purple.' 'Dark purple!' 'So what? 'Fine.' I could feel the obvious disappointment in that last thought, but I still walked through the portal. What I found on the other side was a lot more complicated and amazing than I could ever imagine. Chapter 2: A quick tourAfter thoroughly convincing Twilight that I do know her, and that she is from a TV show, I went to sleep. I awoke again to the same bed, I got up, only to feel that my leg had almost fully healed. I then looked outside, it was early in the morning, so I decided to be quiet and take a look around. After walking around a bit, I found that there was a kitchen, and two guest rooms. I finished looking around, and went to the kitchen to get some breakfast. As I did this, I heard the sound of hoofsteps coming down stairs, and I knew who was making that sound. Twilight walked into the kitchen, and when she noticed me, she was quite surprised. "What are you doing up so early?" "Well I haven't eaten since yesterday, so I had to get up to get some food." "Oh, ok, well there are some apples in the cupboard over there, feel free to have some." "Thanks." "No problem, everypony's gotta eat, and I have plenty of food." I grabbed an apple and continued "Hey, do you have any idea why I'm here?" "No, you just came out of nowhere." "How come you had a baseball bat?" "Because I thought you were an intruder." "good point." After a bit of chat, Twilight finally said "You know, I never asked for your name." "My name is johnathen, but everyon... uh, I mean everypony calls me john." "Interesting name." "thanks, I like it." "Me too." "but some people think it's boring." "really? seems pretty nice to me." I took another bite of the apple "This apple is really good, where do you get them from?" "They come directly from sweet apple acres" After eating a bit more, I ask the best question I can think of. "Hey Twilight, got any interesting books?" "Well what do you like?" "Just interesting books." "Well there are plenty of interesting books in the library, it's just around that corner." "I guess I'll be reading then" "OK, bye" After she said that, I went to the library and began to browse
Chapter 1: answering unasked questionsI feel a rather annoying pain in my head, and think to myself 'Did I fall?' I get up, and see a purple unicorn... wait, no, an alicorn! 'An... Alicorn? How drunk am I? Wait... I'm not drunk...' She's just standing there, obvious shock in her face, one of her hooves covering her mouth, with a baseball bat hovering next to her. Before I can even start to think about my situation, I pass out, the last thing I hear is hoof steps coming closer. I wake up to a rather soft bed underneath me. With some struggle, I sit up on the bed, and look around... I see a small, purple, baby dragon with no wings and blunt-ish green scales, who is easily identifiable as Spike, with a worried expression on his face. And the same purple allicorn from earlier, Now identifiable as Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship, who I admired. She had the same expression as Spike, but more curious. After gazing at both of them for a minute or so, I got off the bed and stood up, I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my legs, which caused me to make a very, VERY pained face. It seemed to have been transferred from my head. I then shouted "OW!" Before I could really say much else, Twilight said "Oh dear, you're injured. you should just lay down for now." with a worried tone. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you until we can arrange something." she quickly added. "To be honest, I'd like to just stay for a bit." A slight smile appeared on my face after I said that. "Why, don't you have a home to go to?" She was confused. Which I must admit, was kind of cute, which I am a bit ashamed of. "Not much back home for me." my smile was getting slightly bigger now, although there was some doubt in the back of my mind. "What, why not?" she was even more confused now. "My parents are gone, school is almost over, and it sucks. Plus tomorrow is a Monday anyway." "What do you mean school sucks?" She'd now started to look curious, with a hint of anger. "Well for one, the homework is hard, and I don't have my parents to help me." I knew almost anything she could throw at me would be dealt with. "I could help you with the homework." I could tell she was nicer than I thought. "How? We're like, a dimension away. Plus you're fictional, and who says your language is like mine?" I was now prepared for her to rage at the idea of her being fictional. "How am I fictional?" "you're a character from a TV show." I knew holding back the truth or going more in-depth would cause a long conversation. or even worse, an argument. "A TV show?" She had a curious look now. "Yeah, a TV show." "OK then, if I really am a fictional character from some random TV show, what's my name?" "Its Twilight, Twilight Sparkle." I say as i smirk as if i proved her wrong. "What about my friend here?" She said, pointing at Spike. "Spike." "Oh, and as for your other friends" "Your friends each represent an element of harmony." I then prepared for a list. "There's Rainbow Dash, the element of loyalty." "And Applejack, the element of honesty." "Then there's Fluttershy, the element of kindness." "Rarity, the element of generosity." I looked at Spike, he seemed a bit shocked. "Pinkie Pie, the element of laughter." I was now starting to run out of breath. "And last, but in absolutely no way least. you, the element of magic." After a while, Twilight finally said "OK, all you've proven so far is that you are creepy." 'Let me just answer a few more questions before she asks.' "This place is called Equestria." "And this town is called Ponyville." "Oh and there are four rulers, all of them princesses." I then prepared for another list. "There's Celestia, who raises the sun." "Luna, who raises the moon." "Cadence, who protects the Crystal Empire." "Then there's you, the princess of friendship." "OK, that's pretty good proof, but I'm still not sure I believe you." She now had a smile on her face. "Because anypony could find that out easily by simply reading a couple of books." "So to prove I'm from a TV show, what was my old home?" She had said this in a kind of way that made me think this was the last question I had to answer. "Well, sadly, your old home was destroyed during your battle with Tyrek." "It was the Golden Oak Library. and before you lived there, you lived in Canterlot's library." I added more thorough detail as it was the last question. "Well then, I guess I could be from a TV show, because if you're a stalker, I don't see why you'd know I fought tyrek, or why you'd appear out of nowhere." Twilight had finally come to an end. "Told you." I finished, with a rather large grin on my face. Author's Note Fun fact: This chapter has had a LOT of changes, most of which were made to get this story published.
chapter 3: A good readI'd found a good book and had been reading it for an hour or two when Twilight walked in. I said "hi", getting her attention. "Oh, hi. found a good book yet?" "Yep" "Which one?" "Equestria 101" "Good choice. I bet that the show doesn't really tell you much about equestria in whole, am I right?" "Yeah, but I've only gotten to the 3rd chapter" "Well trust me, the information gets more and more usefull as you read through it" "Thanks for the heads up, I really needed some motivation to keep reading" "Well then, I'll just be going now" before she left she picked up a book "See ya" "bye" And at that she left the room, leaving me alone to read the book (an hour later) I'd read through to chapter 7 and had started to get a bit bored, so I found a bookmark, put it in the book, and decided to come back to it later. I went to the living room and sat down, I looked around and saw twilight reading the book she picked up before "hey twilight" "hi" I looked at the book she was reading before saying "you read that one before?" She seemed a bit surprised, but she hid it well, saying "I've only ever got half way through. everytime I've tried to read it there was some disaster or a special event" "seems pretty unlucky" "yep, but now I finally have some peace and quiet" "well, have fun with that book, I'll just be getting some food" after that I got up and went to the kitchen to get more apples (another hour later) After Twilight finished her book, we began talking for a bit about earth and humans, Twilight also mentioned how she cast a portal spell linked to the human world. She also mentioned how she had read that humans are like magic-less, bipedal ponies After a bit I asked Twilight how her life has been "well it's pretty good, considering I'm a Princess living in a giant castle with great friends and special rainbow powers" "But other than that I haven't heard from my parents since I became a princess, and celestia stopped teaching me, so I don't talk to her much. " "Wow" "what? Haven't you been watching the TV show you told me about?" "I have been, but I didn't know you weren't talking to your parents... Plus the fact that your life is way better than mine" "speaking of your life." "oh. Well my parents Call me every three hours to check if I'm OK. And I have too deal with the rent. "call? So you have phones?" "yep" "so you talk to your parents often?" "no, I just send them a message saying I'm OK " "Message? Why not call them back?" "Because... Well, I don't know." "I mean If I called them, they would just talk and talk and talk." "Well at least you message your parents. I don't talk to mine at all." "Maybe you should visit them, since you have some free time now." "What about you? I wouldn't want to leave you here alone" "Why don't I come with you? I'd love to meet your parents face to face." "Do you even know their names?" "Twilight Velvet and Night Light" "Ok, fine, you can come with me to meet my parents." She quickly blushed a bit and added "As a friend of course." "Of course" At that point I started to think: 'What will they think of me?' 'Will they think I'm a monster?' 'Will they think me and Twilight are in a relationship?!' I chuckled at that last thought 'Well I'd hope to make that true... Later, much later' Then I heard Twilight's voice, breaking me out of my trance of thought "Hello, you ok?" "Huh, wha, oh." "Sorry, I was just thinking" "You should get ready to go, if you're not packing then you can help me pack." "Ok, what do you need help with?" "Everything." Author's Note In this story ponies have technology like phones, but not the internet, just to make sure you know. Also I'll answer any questions you might have as best as I can, just comment.
Chapter 4: packing upI had been helping Twilight pack for, what? Seven hours? Anyway, my point is it's late and she has 5 bags, perfectly packed and organised (mostly because she organised them like 20 times... Each!), and is FINALLY ready to go. (Later at the train station) I had started staring at pretty much anything on the way here, and was still doing so as we arrived at the train station, which I didn't notice. "Excited to see Canterlot up close?" I stopped as I Heard Twilight's voice, and then responded "Oh, well, of course. What kind of person, or pony I guess, wouldn't be excited." "Ok so before we get there, quiz... Again." "Ok, bring it on." "My parents names?" "Twilight Velvet and Nightlight" "What to tell them if they ask if we're in a relationship?" "Nope, we're just friends" As the quiz continues on, I think about the second question she asked me, "friends"? I intend to change that... Later, much later "Ok that should be it" I look out the window and see we're about to arrive, so I decide to say "Perfect timing" "Oh, good" She said looking out the window "So this is our stop?" "Yep, follow me" she said, with a kind of joyful tone, it was easy to tell she was happy to be here, but also kind of happy she got to know more than someBODY else. "Lead on" We walked for a bit until everywhere we looked was white, fancy looking marble houses, shops and towers (ALOT of walking later) Me and twilight had been walking for what seemed like hours, my legs were killing me, and I had stopped looking at the various buildings and ponies we passed by, simply focusing on following twilight. We came to the edge of town and stopped at a house on the corner of the street. "Here we are, ready?" "Is there a soft object to sit on?" "Yes" "Then yes, I am definitely ready." She giggles and says "you're funny sometimes, you know that?" "I would say thanks, but I can barely stand up." "Ok, fine" she says, knocking on the door of the house a muffled voice comes from inside the house saying "One second" The door opens to a mare who is obviously more than a bit surprised "Hi mum" "Twilight?! What are you doing here?" "I'm not dreaming, right?" "Well you can't feel pain in a dream" as Twilight says this she lightly hits Velvet, just hard enough to cause a small amount of pain. "Ow..." "Anyway, what brings you here?" "Well, my friend over there suggested I come to see you while I have some free time." She points to me as she says this "Hi" I manage to say, awkwardly. "Hello, what's your name?" She stops as she takes a good look at me "what are you?!" Twilight walks to my side and faces velvet before saying "I knew this would happen. mum this is Johnathen, he's a human" "A... Hue-min?" "It's actually pronounced hue-man" "Ok, so you brought a weird alien creature named Johnathen to my house, should I be happy?" "He's not a creature, he's just like any other pony, but on two legs and without magic" "Ok well, um, hello... Johnathen" "You can call me John" "Ok, well make yourself at home, I'll go and make some tea for the three of us" "Oh, John, would you like black tea or-" "White, please" "Ok, shouldn't take too long" she says as she starts walking away "Thanks" she leaves the room after I say this "Well, she's certainly nice." "You didn't know that?" "Your parents never talked" "Is it just me and all the other main characters that talked?" "Well recently the background ponies started talking, even having their own episode" Before Twilight could say anything, Velvet came back into the room with three cups of tea Velvet placed the cups on the table in front of me and Twilight, then sat opposite of us and began drinking What came next was something I didn't really want to answer "So, John, how much do you know about Twilight?"
Chapter 5: parents...The room was silent for a while once Velvet asked her question, but The silence was broken when Twilight answered. "Well I don't think that's really important, right?" "Well I'd like to know how much your, uh, man friend, knows about you." "Actually, from what he's told me, it's boyfriend, not man friend, but I've only known him for one or two days, so I might not be rig-" Twilight is cut off by Velvet as she speaks up. "Wait, you mean to tell me you're in a relationship with someone you meet one day ago?!" When Velvet said this, I spoke up as fast as my mouth would let me. "No, we're just friends." "Oh, good, because if you were in a relationship with some weird, alien 'human' thing after one day, then I'd be seriously worried for your safety." Velvet's word are directed towards Twilight. "Weird alien thing, really?" I said, quite offended. "Sorry, I forgot you were there, and that you have feelings and emotions, like ponies." Velvet was obviously a bit embarrassed from forgetting such a thing. "It's ok, I kind of expected you to say something like that." "Have you been saying bad things about me and Night Light?" Velvet had now turned to Twilight, and had gotten a slightly angry and worried tone "No,no, I guess he's just really worried." "But speaking of Dad, where is he?" "Oh, well he's out at work right now, he'll be back soon." "Well we should be able to stay until he's back, right?" "Well if Velvet's ok with me staying, I don't have anything else to do, seeing as I'm in a completely different world" "Well of course you can stay, anypony who's friends with Twilight is friends with me." "Or is it any human?" "It's ok, I understand what you're saying even if you don't say anybody." "Well please, make yourself at home." "Thank you." (An unspecified amount of time later) "So wait, me and Night Light never talked in this show?" Before I could answer Velvet, a knock on the door interrupted our chat. Velvet got up and went to open the door almost instantaneously. As Velvet opens the door a stallion walks in obviously tired but happy to see Velvet. "Hi, honey." "Hi, de-" "Hi dad" "Twilight?! When did you get here?" Twilight quickly answered to avoid being cut off "Not to long ago, and before you go crazy, this is Johnathan, he's a human, humans are like ponies, but without magic and on two legs instead of four." As Twilight said this she pointed to me. "Oh, ok, well hello there Johnathan "Please, call me John." "Ok, well hello John." "And before you ask, we're just friends." "Good, I was a bit worried there" 'Well that went by better than expected' I thought as Night Light came to sit opposite to us "I'll make some coffee for you." "Thank you, dear." (About 2 hours later) Velvet had come back with Night Light's coffee a while back and was now making dinner. "So it's really true? Me, Velvet and even Twilight, we're all from some tv show?" "I know it's hard to believe, but it's the only logical explanation." "What if he's a stalker?" "He came out of nowhere from a portal that I made a while back, and then he passed out, if he was a stalker, why'd he just decide to blow his cover? Plus the fact that he's human, there are no other humans in equestria, or even beyond equestria." "How do you know he wasn't a unicorn that cast some spells?" "Because the book that contained the spell and information about the human world that I had is the only one in existence, and it's under the highest level of security." "Ok, so he's an alien from another dimension who's been watching us on tv and knows way too much about us." "When you say it that way it sounds kinda crazy." "Well that what I've be-" "Hang on, I think dinners ready." "You'd be right." "Hope it smells as good as it tastes." Velvet had come over to the table me, Twilight and Night light sit at and placed down some kind of vegetarian pasta or something. Before anybody could say anything Velvet had gone to the kitchen and come back with four plates and some utensils. "Ready to eat?" "I've been ready since I finished work." "Then let's get started." At that Velvet placed the four plates and sets of utensils on the table and sat down. Twilight, Night Light and Velvet all levitated the utensils up and had started eating. So I grabbed a fork and dug in. (Later, after everybody had finished their food.) "That was better than I expected it to be, that might just be the best dinner I've ever had." "I'm sure you've had much better meals." Velvet blushed a bit from my comment "I mean it, that's some good cooking." "Well thank you." Velvet then grabbed all the plates and utensils with her magic and went to the kitchen to clean them. "Well it looks like we'll have to stay the night, because there aren't any trains going to pony ville this time at night." "Of course if you're ok with John staying here that is." "Ok, you two can stay, but you'll have to sleep in the same bed, there's only two beds in this house." "It's ok, I can sleep on the couch." "Well what do you think Twilight?" "It's ok if he sleeps in my bed, as long as he doesn't snore too loud." "Ok then, it's settled, you're sleeping in Twilight's old room." "Goodnight." "Goodnight..." At that Night Light went upstairs to his bedroom. "So you're seriously ok with me sleeping with you?" "Well you've been pulled out of your universe, had your leg injured, and had to go through an awkward meeting with my parents. I think it's the least I can do." "Thank you." After I said this, Velvet came into the room and went upstairs saying "goodnight." Then me and Twilight got up and went to her old room. Author's Note I really didn't want to write this, but I had to do something, and it seemed fitting.
Chapter 6: bed...It's been a bit too long since I went upstairs, and the awkwardness of the situation isn't helping me snap out of my hypnotised state. I'm currently standing at the doorway to, what I would assume to be, Twilight's room. I'm just staring at the room with a blank face and wondering if the bed truly is big enough, which I hope it is. I'm not gunna say anything... And I'm not gunna let my mind run wild, but the bed does look a bit cramped. I hope Twilight's isn't fighting off as many thoughts as me, That's the last thing I need on my mind. My train of thought is cut off as Twilight speaks up saying "I have grown a bit, but it should be fine. As long as you keep to your side." "So we have sides now?" "Well of course we have sides, how would we have any privacy without sides?" "Oh, I don't know, maybe fit on the bed?" "Ha ha, very funny, now come on, we've got a lot to talk about tomorrow." "you know, I can still sleep on the couch, or even not sleep at all. it doesn't make much difference, I'm always tired, to the point where if I'm not tired, I'm hyperactive." "No, no, it's fine. it can't be that bad, right?" "Ok, I hope you don't snore though." "Well? What are you waiting for? Get in!" Twilight got into bed as she said this "I just gotta clear my mind, hey do you have a notepad or something?" "In the desk over there." Twilight points to a desk in the corner of the room as she says this. "Thanks." At that I went over to the desk, took out a notepad and quill, dipped it in ink, and began writing some stuff down. not important stuff, just some stray thoughts. (Later, in bed (no, not like that (wait 6 chapters or so. (Inception)))) 'Let me just go over this one more time. Twilight sparkle actually exists, she has allowed me to meet her parents and she has now allowed me to sleep in the same bed as her. I think I'm insane, but I can't tell.' I then stopped thinking about my situation, and looked around. "This is crazy, it's completely insane." I said, mainly to myself "So why am I so easily accepting it?" This time I was actually asking the world around me for an answer. "I don't know right know, and I might never know unless I get to sleep. Now go to bed." "Haven't you noticed? I'm already in bed." I chuckled a little at that "Then go to sleep." Twilight was obviously a bit agitated, which made me smile a bit. 'Why is she so adorable when she's angry?' '...really brain? "Adorable"? I think I've actually lost it.' I decided to just go to sleep and think about my current mental state in the morning. (much (much later) later) (reference)(five points if you get it) "Hey." "Get up!" "Hello?" "Whaaaa..." "What time is it?" I asked in the most annoyed and tired voice I have ever used. I then looked out the window to see the moon just about setting. "About 3 in the morning." "3... In... The morning..." "Seriously?" "Not a morning person?" "Not... A morning person... Indeed." "What day is it?" "Monday, Why?" "I'm not a Monday person either." "So this is probably gunna be a bad day." "Just get up and get ready." "...arghhh...Fiiiine..." (About half an hour later.) "Sooo... What's for breakfast?" I asked, then literally hearing my stomach screeching for food. "Knowing my mother, she's probably already got it covered." "Sooo... No idea?" "No idea." Twilight then proceeded to walk out of the room and downstairs, closely followed by me. "Morning, Twilight." "Morning." "What's cooking? Smells nice." "The usual." "Soooo... Pancakes?" "Pancakes." "I envy you and your pancake eating ways." "Ever had pancakes before?" "Yeah, but only for special occasions really." "I pity you and your non pancake eating ways." "Haha." "Very funny." "Very funny indeed." "Well aren't you the most original pony in Equestria." "Well you can talk." "Again. Haha, very funny." Author's Note Just so you know, I write John as if he was me, John is like my alternate self. But that doesn't mean he acts exactly like I would, he is still his own person. Also, I would just like to add the fact that John and I have two thing that perfectly line up. Our hate of the morning, and Monday's.
Chapter 7: A longer, larger tourAfter eating pancakes, discussing the day, and being annoyed by the fact it is monday, Me and Twilight decided to take a quick tour around Canterlot. Well, not quite quick. In fact, Canterlot is so big, that the tour will last all day, but I didn't mind. Twilight and I headed out towards our first location, the heart of the city, the castle. While walking I found that I had a question clinging to my brain. "So exactly how big is the castle?" "Well, based on what you've said you've seen, about triple the size you've seen." "Damn, that's one big castle." "For two ponies at least." "The princesses and the guard, plus the throne room." "Don't you think it's a bit big though?" "Well don't say that to the princesses, it'd be pretty bad if you just arrived then got sent back home with cuts and bruises." "Point taken. Another question, how long did it take to build?" "I've never really thought about it." "Well how about this." "Take the size, the details, the workers and the material, and figure it out like the smart pony you are." Twilight blushed a bit when I said that. "I'm not that smart." "Seriously? You actually think that? You're the smartest pony I know about!" "But you know about princess Celestia." "The one that calls you and your friends whenever she has a problem? The one that failed to beat chrysalis? The one that let herself get captured by tyrek? And again, she always calls on you and your friends." "Ok, you've got a point there." "But seriously, you are the smartest pony I know, not to mention how beautiful you look." I covered my mouth quickly, after realizing what I just said. Twilights blush got deeper "You... Really think so?" I took my hand off of my mouth and responded. "Well, uh, yeah." Twilights blush got even deeper than before. "...Thank you." Twilight looked away slowly as she was saying that. However, not too long after she looked away, she looked back up again. "Oh look! The castle." Twilight sped up her trot at the sight of the castle. (Later, in the castle) "Well this is... Big..." I said, looking around at the massive entrance room. "You get used to it." Twilight replied "Have you seen the whole castle?" "Most of it, but I haven't seen the east-most halls yet, or the very top of the castle." "Well now I have a good sense of scale. And this castle is REALLY big." "You're funny." "...Thanks. Not many people tell me that, people say I'm not funny, and I don't really try to be." "Seriously though, you have your moments." "You've known me for about a day and a half, so taking that into consideration, that means a lot." "Oh, that reminds me." "Thank you." "For what?" "If you hadn't have been here, and done what you had, I wouldn't have seen my parents for a while." "Don't thank me, thank yourself for your own thoughts." "You are a good example for other males." "Well... That was unexpected." "But, seriously, you're funny, selfless, and as far as I can tell, pretty smart." "Thanks, Twilight." "Don't thank me... Thank your previous statements." "Do you have any original jokes?" "Nope!" Twilight was now constantly giggling lightly. "Oh come on, surely somepony as smart as you can come up with at least 5 new jokes a day." I said, and I meant it quite literally. "Seriously?" She asked, not yet realising my seriousness. I simply stood there and stared at her. "Your serious? Aren't you?" Twilight seemed to have finally noticed the seriousness behind my statement. "Yes, yes I am." I replied, happy that she finally noticed. "Well, actually, now that you mention it." She paused and thought for a bit. "What do you call an alien with a fantastic sense of humour and a flattering vocabulary?" "I dunno, what do you call it?" "Johnathan." I stopped everything I was doing, I stopped thinking, moving and... Well I just. Stopped. "Um, are you, are you alright?" Twilight asked with confusion. Twilight's voice broke me from my trance-like state "oh, uh, yeah, I'm fine, I just, didn't quite, you know, expect that, after like, two days." "Well I just couldn't resist after you've shown me such kindness" Twilight said, with a kind, caring smile. "Well I kind of had to. I mean, you let me stay around after appearing out of nowhere, you gave me food, and have shown me nothing but kindness, more so than I have." I said, slightly shocked she hadn't noticed it herself. "Well anypony would have done it, if queen chrysalis were to show up at my door, begging for me to take her in after her hive was destroyed, I would, I mean, I wouldn't leave her out in the cold." Twilight said, emphasising the fact that she would do it for queen chrysalis. "But how about we talk about this later, we have a princess to talk to." "Ok, but we will definitely be talking about this later."

Chapter 9: The beggining of something new?Suddenly, I felt lips upon my own, I was being kissed. It was the best feeling I've ever felt. just for a second, I felt as if I had new meaning, more reasons to live. Overall, I felt that my life just got about ten times better. Eventually, I closed my eyes and embraced the kiss. Eventually, the kiss broke and I opened my eyes to stare into Twilight's eyes. Those beautiful, purple eyes, which were looking straight back at me. Soon after the kiss broke, both of us turned away and blushed. "Did we just?" Twilight asked, shocked by her own actions. "Yes, we did." I answered, looking back at Twilight. "I'm sorry, you're probably so embarrassed." Twilight apologized. "Twilight." I said, putting my hands on either side of her head. "That was amazing, it was the best thing that's ever happened to me." I said, looking into her eyes. Twilight's eyes were staring right back at me, I could feel her breath against my skin. Suddenly, Twilight kissed me again, breaking from my grasp. I wasn't too surprised, I embraced it as soon as it started, my hands moved to the back of her head and back as her hooves gently draped over my shoulders. After an amazing couple of minutes, the kiss slowly broke. My hands and Twilight's hooves eventually returned to their original positions. Twilight smiled at me and I smiled back. We sat there, staring at each other, for another couple of minutes before Twilight said something. "It's late, we should get to bed." Twilight said, breaking the silence. "Oh, uh, yeah." I replied, standing up and starting towards the bedroom. (The next morning. (Nothing else really happened that night.)) "Morning." I said, looking at Twilight as she started to wake up. "Morning. How come you're up before me?" Twilight asked, getting up and fixing up the bed. "Because you were moving around in your sleep and mumbling." I answered, somewhat worried. "I was having a really good dream." Twilight replied. "What was it about?" I asked, curious. "It may or may not have been about you." Twilight answered, blushing. "Why am I not surprised?" I asked, blushing. "Maybe because you were dreaming of me?" Twilight said, emphasizing "you" and "me". "I'm not sure if I like it when you talk like that or not." I said, followed by a thought. 'Joking in the early morning? I must have had a really good night.' (Later in the day. (Again, nothing much happened.)) "At least we know where to go now." I whispered to myself and anyone near me, which happened to include Twilight. "Yeah, I can't believe I forgot how to get around." Twilight replied, sighing and continuing down a long hall in the general direction of the throne room of the castle. "I know right? It's only been, like, way too long." I joked. 'Joke spree!' I thought, following my comment. "You really are just this funny, aren't you?" Twilight said, lightly giggling. "What?" I asked, completely and totally confused. "I was reading your thoughts to see if you were trying to act funnier than you really are to impress me or something." Twilight explained. I kept walking, staying completely silent, my face blank as I thought. 'Why? No seriously, why?' "Because I don't know if human brains think differently than ponies, or if you have any other reason for being as funny as you are. Turns out you're just really funny." Twilight said, responding to the thought she just read. "Stop, get out of my head. Also, thank you." I said, slightly annoyed and slightly creeped out at the same time. "Ok, ok, fine." Twilight replied, her horns glow stopping, though I hadn't noticed it was glowing in the first place. "Seriously, how are you supposed to make a good story with drama and romance if there are no secrets." I said, joking of course. (Or was he?) "What?" Twilight asked, obviously confused. "It was a joke. I think." I replied, feeling weird. "Wait, you think it was a joke?" Twilight asked, even more confused. "Just forget about it, even I'm confused." I said, confused, as I had said. "Ok, I'll forget about it. For now." Twilight said, looking at me. "Good enough for me." I replied, happy to leave it until a better time. "The throne room is just up ahead, you ready?" Twilight asked, attempting and succeeding to remove tension, then adding a small amount back. "Yep, I'm sure they decided on yes, right?" I said, slightly nervous. "Hopefully. I would hate to have them make you leave after last night." Twilight said, looking at me and remembering the events that took place last night. "I'd hate to leave." I said, obvious worry in my voice as I walked through the doorway as Twilight opened the doors. "Hello Twilight, hello Johnathan." Celestia greeted us, staring at me, almost angrily. Author's Note That was fast in more ways than one. (O_O) I'm back! I'll be trying my best to spend more time on writing now, since people actually read this. Bonus chapter: The throne room (7-8)After a long time walking around, me and Twilight finally walked into the throne room. Princess Celestia was sitting on her throne with another smaller, empty throne to her side. "Twilight. Good to see you, I hope you have been well. Who's this?" Celestia asked as she looked and motioned towards me. "This is Johnathan, he came here through a portal that I had created in an attempt to study other worlds." Twilight answered. "I see. What exactly is he?" Celestia asked, examining me carefully. "He is a human." Twilight answered. "So, what is it like where you come from, Johnathan?" Celestia looked to me, curious. "Oh, well, where I come from there's not magic, though my species has managed to build many amazing pieces of technology. We've made machines capable of connecting to a global, ever expanding network called the Internet. We can upload videos, pictures and various other things to the Internet, from which anyone else, with a computer, can view or discuss it." I answered, looking to Celestia only to see her seemingly shocked by this information. "Twilight, do you think you could recreate the spell? I would like to try it for myself. This world sounds rather remarkable and I would like to see it first hoof." Celestia looked to Twilight, hoping she could. "Yes, I do believe so. When would you want it?" Twilight asked to Celestia. "As soon as you possibly can." Celestia replied. "I will have it done shortly, is there anything else you want?" Twilight looked to Celestia, waiting for an answer. "No, you may go, if you wish, thank you for coming." Celestia said, smiling. "Talk soon." Twilight said as she walked out of the throne room with me following. Prologue: a walk home (Optional, for character introduction.)Author's Note please note that this is my first story, so I'm sorry about the chapters being tiny Prologue: a walk home (Optional, for character introduction.) My name is Johnathan, but my friends call me john, my parents do too... Or at least they would, if they were still around. But back onto the subject of me. I am a gamer, and a brony. Right now I am walking home from school down the usual path. While I'm walking, a giant dark purple portal thing popped out of nowhere. At that point in time I begin to have a mental argument with myself 'I should go through it.' 'What if it's dangerous?' 'It's purple.' 'Dark purple!' 'So what? 'Fine.' I could feel the obvious disappointment in that last thought, but I still walked through the portal. What I found on the other side was a lot more complicated and amazing than I could ever imagine.
Chapter 2: A quick tourAfter thoroughly convincing Twilight that I do know her, and that she is from a TV show, I went to sleep. I awoke again to the same bed, I got up, only to feel that my leg had almost fully healed. I then looked outside, it was early in the morning, so I decided to be quiet and take a look around. After walking around a bit, I found that there was a kitchen, and two guest rooms. I finished looking around, and went to the kitchen to get some breakfast. As I did this, I heard the sound of hoofsteps coming down stairs, and I knew who was making that sound. Twilight walked into the kitchen, and when she noticed me, she was quite surprised. "What are you doing up so early?" "Well I haven't eaten since yesterday, so I had to get up to get some food." "Oh, ok, well there are some apples in the cupboard over there, feel free to have some." "Thanks." "No problem, everypony's gotta eat, and I have plenty of food." I grabbed an apple and continued "Hey, do you have any idea why I'm here?" "No, you just came out of nowhere." "How come you had a baseball bat?" "Because I thought you were an intruder." "good point." After a bit of chat, Twilight finally said "You know, I never asked for your name." "My name is johnathen, but everyon... uh, I mean everypony calls me john." "Interesting name." "thanks, I like it." "Me too." "but some people think it's boring." "really? seems pretty nice to me." I took another bite of the apple "This apple is really good, where do you get them from?" "They come directly from sweet apple acres" After eating a bit more, I ask the best question I can think of. "Hey Twilight, got any interesting books?" "Well what do you like?" "Just interesting books." "Well there are plenty of interesting books in the library, it's just around that corner." "I guess I'll be reading then" "OK, bye" After she said that, I went to the library and began to browse
