The Traveler
Researching #1: Well, This Was.........Unexpected

It's full of things that we humans and pretty much any other creature are fascinated with. From space rocks and asteroids to natural satellites and celestial bodies, these are generally the 'things' astronauts and scientists are researching on and studying their origins. But, even though the smartest people on Earth have retrieved so much information about space, it still wasn't enough. So, they resolved to call upon not the smartest MAN in the world, but rather the most intelligent YOUNG ADULT in the world.
Origin Of "The Traveler".
The said young adult was their most top space-info retriever because he was actually BORN smart. The doctors at the hospital say that they simply can't seem to find anything wrong with him. To prove it, when he was just about 4 years old, he knew how to drive a CAR with cinder blocks and wooden planks taped to his feet. As he aged, he grew smarter and smarter by the month and lead off to learn astronomy. Not only that, but he has been to a few occasions that involves him teaching his favorite subject to other, much younger kids. He was happy as he gained more knowledge, friends and popularity, but when he received a letter from the government of NASA, he couldn't believe his eyes. His mind was blown because of the request similar to a stick of dynamite exploding inside of a jelly donut.
And ever since he has been working for NASA for almost a year, he has so much fame that it skyrocketed to the highest levels of popularity. Eat that, Pewds!! Anyway, he was so happy with his current life, but one day, his life came to a conclusion.
During that day, he was on his way to pick up groceries when suddenly, he fell to the ground with his eyes still open, motionless. The customers around noticed this and immediately called an ambulance. After he woke up on a hospital bed, the doctor said that he and a few other scientists found something inside of his body that was............unbelievably jolting. It seemed like a sort of yellow energy inside of his body was rising and according to their researchers, if that energy is released, then it will be spread all over the globe and disable every human heart and stop them from living or even breathing. It's kinda like that scene from that Godzilla movie where Godzilla fights Destroyah and his body is full of radiation and whatever.
So, in order to save the entire human race on Earth, he was going to have to leave his home planet and travel to somewhere far in space. The boy asked the doctor if he can do something and stop this, but the doctor tried everything and the result was that he had to depart from Earth.
A few hours later.........
It was already 6 o'clock and the boy was ready to leave. The commander of the space program said that they were going to need a space vehicle that can take him to anywhere in the universe. Fortunately, since the boy was smart and all, he made an exact, functioning duplicate of the X-Wing Fighter from one of his favorite sci-fi movie series, Star Wars. The commander stated that the boy always surprises him with his inventions, to which TT smiled but not for long. When he was all ready to go, the space crew of NASA prepared the ship to launch using a giant slingshot. TT questioned them about the plan, to which the commander replied that it could be an opportunity to use the giant slingshot TT built for the 5th time. They pulled back the slingshot's bands and pouch along with the ship and let go after they had enough force to send the ship to a far location.
During the present time..........
Somewhere in the deep darkness of the cosmos, we can witness The Traveler's X-Wing, suddenly appeared from hyperspace. Within the cockpit of the X-Wing fighter, we can see The Traveler, having some trouble breathing through his intensity. He had on an X-Wing pilot suit which was included with a helmet.
He never thought it would come to this. He never knew that this is how his life would end: a sort of energy building up in his body so much, it could annihilate an entire species on one single planet. He wiped away a tear as he remembered what his father always used to say to him.
"No matter what happens, even if I pass away, I'll always be close to you."
"Thanks, dad," He said to his own imagination. Suddenly, a ringing sound came from his left pocket. He inserted his hand into it and pulled out a black, rectangular object. Then, he activated it by sliding the switch downward, therefore creating a radar-like device onto his left forearm.
RA~DAR! ON!
He looked at the 'screen' of the device and saw his girlfriend, Joe Jacobs, smiling at him with a sad face. His girlfriend has always made faces that even he can tell apart. From the screen, she had on a black shirt along with a red coat, blonde hair, and blue eyes.
"Hi!" She waved and greeted him.
"Hey, Joe," TT said. "Why are you calling me? I'm about to die, remember?" He didn't know why his girlfriend would call him during life threatening-situations, including this one. "Wait," He looked behind Joe. "Are you at NASA?"
"Yeah, I just wanted to say goodbye one last time." She wiped several tears that dropped to her cheeks. She can get SO emotional sometimes.
"Sorry."
"It's okay. So, I guess this is it." He said with a half-false frown.
"It is." She tried to hold back her tears as she continued. "And......TT?" That has always been one of The Traveler's nickname for such a long time.
"Hm?" She showed him a bracelet on her wrist made of a variety of scrap metal.
"Thanks for the bracelet. I know it's made out of metal junk and all, but," She sobbed a bit. ", I'll always treasure it."
"I always knew you would." They both laughed shortly before Joe noticed a kind of yellow energy, flowing out of TT's right hand.
"Dude, your hand." She pointed to it with a finger, to which he noticed and smiled weakly.
"I see. I guess my time is up." Before he turned off the radar, he asked one question to Joe. A question which is kind of awkward, but also gratifying. "Joe, before I probably die forever, I have one last question."
"Yeah?" She wiped away more tears from her cheeks. He inhaled, then exhaled and asked her the question.
"Did you ever liked me before our college years? I mean, the only time I noticed you liked me was last year when we went to the cafeteria at college."
Okay, this question made Joe jolt back a bit. She has always liked TT from the first time they went to high school together, but she forgot all about it and didn't have the courage to tell him. So, now was the time to spill the beans.
"Y-yeah, actually. During our years at high school." She felt so good to get that off her chest.
"Okay, so if you had a crush on me since high school, then why didn't you ever show it?"
"Because,......I was actually shy to tell you."
"Yeah, I know how that feels." They laughed more before TT noticed that his other hand had flowing, yellow energy coming out. "Okay, this is
it. I gotta go. Don't wanna keep my body waiting." They both wiped some tears away.
"Alright, I'll miss you." She still had her sad and happy expression.
"Goodbye, Joe." TT was about to turn off the radar.
"Goodbye,......K..." Before she could say the name, TT already powered down the radar switch.
On the spur of the moment, he could sense the energy charging up more and more as yellow air-like mist flowed through his hands.
"Well, I guess this is the end for me. I had a good run........" But then, he looked closer by squinting his eyes and saw that this does NOT imply that he is going to die. It actually means........"Wait, I remember this moment!" He took off his helmet and placed it aside as his neck and body seemed to glow as well. "Yes,...of course. This makes perfect sense. I may be wearing a bit thin....."
Suddenly, a giant black hole appeared out of nowhere above him, but he was too preoccupied with his current state. He looked above him, but he ignored it even when it started to suck him and the X-Wing into it. "......but, I hope that my nose will be more conspicuous next time." And as the black hole continued to draw in the ship, the yellow gas around TT suddenly shot out like an outburst of flames. All he could see when he was within the hole of darkness and nothing was.....well, darkness. But, he could still remember one last line of his.
Here I come.
His old life will end, but his new life will just begin.
