Talking Over Mocha and Hot Chocolate....with Marshmallows~!
"I saw it, by the way."
The soft and abrupt words were spoken by Rarity as she sat beside Applejack in a forest green (from what her eyes could make of the shade anyway) leather booth at Sugar Cube Cafe. The farmer in turn nearly sputtered out her hot chocolate as the fashionista's words shattered the comfy silence.
"C-Come again??"
"What I said, darling. I. Saw. It."
The pale skinned seamstress turned towards her blonde farmer, napkin in hand, and dabbed at some melted marshmallow that had clung to the corner of her lip and chin.
"Yer gonna have to be a li'l clearer than that, Rares. Ya saw what exactly? A whole helluva lot went down today y'know."
Rarity placed the napkin back down atop the table and calmly took a sip from her cup of mocha latte, blowing at the thin wisps of steam lines still rising from the prepared brew as she did.
"Oh indeed there was, darling. I especially got a first row seat at witnessing when fellow competitors latch onto you in a shameless, albeit grateful, embrace for the entire student body to see!"
Applejack had just popped a chunk of banana nut bread into her mouth when Rarity finished her lady-like "rant". Chewing silently (and mindful to keep her mouth closed as she did, lest she provoke the woman further), the farmer brought up an arm and lazily draped it over Rarity's slim shoulders.
Cerulean eyes leered unamusedly towards the tan blonde beside her and slowly took another dainty sip from her latte while trying not to become distracted from the warm and solid appendage upon her person.
"Why Miss Belle!" Applejack exclaimed in mock disbelief, nearly failing to retain the grin wanting to make itself known. She then leaned in closer to gently nuzzle Rarity's cheek. "I do believe yer jealous!~"
This time it was Rarity who sputtered as those words left Applejack's lips. She brought up a hand and clapped it over her mouth so she wouldn't spray everywhere, and thankfully she had caught herself in time. The apple farmer let out a light hearted laugh as she helped to wipe at what bit of latte had managed to escape and handed a couple more napkins to her.
"A-Applejack!"
"Hehehe! Sorry, sugarcube. Couldn't help it, it was just too good an opportunity to let up."
Deep emeralds gazed calmly into furrowed ceruleans and a gentle calloused hand came up to wipe at the fashionista's cheek, where a bit of latte had caught onto her skin.
"Y'know I'm all yers, Rares. Always have been."
Rarity felt a wave of heat rise into her face as the honest declaration was openly and easily proclaimed. Applejack continued to wipe at Rarity's cheek until she was sure no blemishes remained, knowing full well that the fashion forward beauty was quite persnickety with her looks when it came to messes.
"I-I know, dearest. And as wretched as I feel for admitting this, I....was most displeased with it. I felt the 'green monster' rear its ugly head for a fraction of a second back there, seeing someone else's arms around my Applejack..." She didn't mention that she had nearly lost her footing as she skated through the third lap around the field when she had caught sight of the spectacle the two had made.
Applejack nodded steadily and took a swig of her now luke warm drink before going on. "Believe me, it caught me off guard as well, wasn't really ready for that kinda thing. This been botherin' you long?"
"Well...not entirely. Once everything got out of hand and all that magic business happened I didn't give it another thought."
"Until now huh?"
"Correct, darling. Don't get me wrong! Twilight is a darling new addition to our group of friends, the stark contrast from princess Twilight notwithstanding of course. But- Mn!"
A hard finger gently pressed against soft lips, ceasing the swirling thoughts and words potentially forming behind such luscious delights. The farmer then tilted her seamstress's chin upward so that they were facing directly at one another.
"The way I figure it, the girl was just showin' her appreciation for the assist. You saw how cold her teammates were bein'. Hell, her entire school was nothin' but a bunch of ruthless cut-throats just waitin' to tear her a new one! There's ribbin' and then there's rippin'. Poor girl looked like she coulda used a friendly word or two."
Rarity nodded in agreement, remembering how unenthused the students of Crystal Prep were concerning the young scholar's performance.
A gentle stroke from warm, calloused fingers still holding her chin made Rarity quiver slightly, redirecting her attention towards a smiling Applejack. The farmer then pulled her Stetson down over them, hiding their faces away from prying eyes as the farmer pulled the fashionista in for a kiss.
Rarity let out a dainty squeal and purr, shuffling slightly as lips and tongue invaded her senses and effectively drowning out her shameful jealously from earlier. The kiss itself was a gesture of assurance as well as loving, making what she had said earlier resound in her mind and casting her worries away.
‘I’m all yers, Rares~’
When the kiss ended, the worn Stetson continued to veil them. She noted the lingering aroma of worn leather, sawdust, sweat and shampoo. “Tell you what, sugarcube~. I’ll take you to that fancy place you been eyein’.”
Hearing her whispered words made Rarity come to, just a little. “Y-You mean…the-the ‘Maison de diamont’?"
Applejack’s grin only grew wider at the breathless awe of her seamstress. She nodded against Rarity’s cheek as she continued to whisper. “Mm-hm~ I seen the way you’ve been glancing at it ever since it opened up last year. We can have dinner there….maybe take in a movie later. An’ after that, I can really be friendly with you~ Y’know, to make it up to you for today~”
Applejack saw the now vacant expression on Rarity’s face, knowing full well that her mind was anything but, if the rising blush was any indication. She pressed on.
“You slip on that nice li’l number with the lacey trim I like, put on a dab of that sweet smellin’ perfume I love…an’ I’ll be sure to bring my rope and ‘cattle prod’.”
The girl beside her was beet red, swaying slightly. She brought up a hand to fan herself in a demure manner as her mouth flapped uselessly open, trying, wanting, to say something! Ultimately, the overloaded fashionista could handle no more as she let out a swoon and proceeded to fall forward, slumping against Applejack’s shoulder in a faint. “Uh, Rares? Sugarcube?”
The blonde farmer tried to fan the girl with her Stetson, even shook her a little. She was out cold. Applejack grinned.
“Ah, horse feathers….”

Guess who finally got to fully watch the movie~! Hee hee! I absolutely loved the Friendship games, the songs, the story, all of it! And I've no regrets, dears!~
This....wasn't originally intended to be my first fan fic to publish here on FimFiction but it is, no editing or secondary reading from outside sources or third-parties on this one I'm afraid. But that's how I wanted this one to go!
Meanwhile, I've another one in the making. Still working out the 'kinks' and such. But for now, here is my very first RariJack! *squee* ~ Thank you ever so much for reading, dearies!~
