A Mere Glimspe Was All It Took
"Are you sure you want to take on this mission, Twilight?" asked Celestia one last time.
"Yes, he must be changed for the better of ponykind." said Twilight with determination ringing in her voice.
"Once you go back to Discord's rule, he is much, much more cruel then he is now. He's not the innocent prankster he is now, he was a sadistic ruler back then." warned Celestia.
"I know. He warned me how he used to be. I can handle whatever he throws at me." Twilight spoke with confidence.
"Before I send you back, do you have your protection spells and plant growth spells memorized to be used in a second's notice?" asked Celestia.
"Yes. I have all the necessary spells learned. I am ready to face him in the past." said Twilight in a charging position.
"As you wish, my fateful student. Remember, if it comes too much for you to handle, simply chant Fo Rus Dah to get yourself out of there, ok?"
"Yes, Princess. I'm doing this for all ponykind. Please send me to the past!" twilight yelled.
"Reverse the clock and send my faithful back!" Celestia chanted as her horn glowed brightly and enveloped Twilight.
Twilight was surrounded by Celestia's pure magic as it hurtled her back through time. Twilight watched as the past whizzed right past her at super-speed. A portal opened behind her, indicating that this was the right time she needed to be in. Celestia's magic set Twilight on the ground before disappearing into the air.
Twilight looked at her surroundings. They weren't that many buildings around, only small houses that were formed together in a village. Not too far from the village was a grand palace, completely made of many different materials. This had to be Discord's old palace as the history books had recalled. Past the village grew green plants that was the village's food. A few villagers were working on the field when one looked up in alarm.
"Everypony run! Storm!" he shouted in panic, causing the other villagers to run in the opposite direction of the storm.
Storm? Twilight looked in the distance to see dark, brown clouds rolling in at a quick rate. Twilight took off running, knowing these were hot tea clouds, and did not exactly want to find out if it was true or not.
Twilight ran until she caught up with the group of the running ponies, one quickly noticing her from not being around the village.
"What are you doing here, unicorn? You're in grave danger by being here!" she yelled as they kept running.
"What's going on?" Twilight asked.
"Discord must be bored again because he's causing the second hot tea storm today! We just barely got away from the last one!"
"Why is he doing this?"
"I don't know why he does this! If he's bored, we usually suffer for it! While you're running unicorn, run away from Everfree or you'll become a slave! Unicorns aren't allowed in Everfree, ever!"
"Oh no! The storm is coming closer!" a male pony yelled. "We're not gonna be able to out-run it!"
"Unicorn, do you know any protection spells, ANY?" she begged as they kept running.
"I do!" Twilight said as she instantly stopped. "Everypony! Get near me! You'll be safe! I know protection spells!"
The earth ponies stopped and reserved direction to her, trusting her since unicorns were the only ones who could be safe from a hot tea storm caused by Discord. Unicorns weren't allowed in Everfree since they could slow down Discord's chaotic deeds and protect the ponies he wanted to have suffer. Twilight caused her horn to glow, in which caused a bubble to form over the large group of Earth ponies. The bubble closed itself just as the storm ran overhead, hot tea came boiling down on the Earth. Twilight's spell worked and not a single drop affected the Earth ponies, causing them to cheer at Twilight for protecting them.
The storm quickly evaporated and Discord appeared instead, wondering why he hadn't heard a single pony cry out in pain. Twilight kept her shield up, not knowing what Discord in the past could do to her. The Earth ponies looked at him in fear, knowing that he could possibly break Twilight's bubble and resume the storm once more.
"My my my. What do we have here? A unicorn? Here in Everfree? It's been awhile since one has showed up here." Discord said amused. "And pray tell who are you, unicorn?"
"I'm Twilight Sparkle. I have come to protect these innocent ponies from your horrible suffering, Discord!" Twilight said with anger, knowing this was not her Discord she knew in the present.
"Suffering? I am not making anypony suffer, my dear. I am giving anypony a chance to experience my fun." he smiled at her.
"Your fun is hurting ponies! You're burning them, killing them!" she yelled. "You can't do that to your subjects!"
Discord's face instantly turned into an angry scowl. "You think you can tell the ruler of Equestria how to treat his subjects? How dare you come to Everfree as well, which forbids any pegasi or unicorn from visiting!" he yelled at her. "I place you under arrest, Twilight Sparkle." With a single snap of his eagle claw, magical bounds wrapped themselves around Twilight's hooves and horn. "Your punishment is that you no longer have any freedom and are my own personal slave to do with as I wish."
"You won't get away with this, you vile monster!" she screamed out, paining her a little since this horrible monster was her future lover. "You will be overthrown!"
Discord snapped his eagle claw again and another magical bound wrapped itself around Twilight's mouth. He walked over to the bound pony and picked up her head. "And just for that little remark, you're going to get to work extra hard. It's just your lucky day today, isn't it?" he laughed sadistically.
Twilight quickly swung her head, causing his hand to fall from her face. She butted her head again, this time actually hitting his eagle claw with all her might. She hit it pretty hard, causing both herself and him to wince in pain.
"That's it! You will work the hardest of all the slaves!" he yelled as both she and him disappeared from view.
They both reappeared in a throne room, where a lavish throne was standing and several ponies smiled at his arrival back.
"Welcome back, our chaotic lord." they chanted happily.
"Anything you would like at the moment, sir?" one of the slaves asked.
"Footstool now." he ordered.
"As you wish, sir." she smiled as she stood in from the throne, becoming a pony footstool for his mis-matched feet.
"Since you have been such a rebellious pony, Twilight Sparkle, I'll give you the task that will suit your rebellious attitude. You get to work in the mines carrying boulders." he grinned. "You'll get fed a slice a bread and water a day until you can no longer work anymore."
"Mpmh Mff!" Twilight tried to yell, but it came in muffled.
Discord snapped his fingers and the magical bound around Twilight's mouth disappeared. "What did you say now?"
"You bastard! You're not giving the ponies in that rock mine enough food to move those boulders!" she yelled.
"I've had enough of your annoyance! To make you see your ignorance, I'm going to snap that horn off your head using my bear hands! That'll make you stop your rebellious comments." he said in anger.
He walked over to Twilight, determined to remove her horn by force by his bear hands, when a groaning noise quickly caught his attention. He whipped around and saw a blue earth pony, carrying a large load on her back, panting in utter exhaustion.
"P-Please, w-water. J-Just one drop, p-please..." she begged weakly.
Discord walked away from Twilight and to the begging blue earth pony. "Shouldn't you be in the rock mines?" he said annoyed.
"I came to ask for more water, sir. P-Please, we need m-more..." the pony was able to make out.
"Don't I give you ponies enough to live on?" he yelled.
"P-Please chaotic lord, w-we just need a t-tad more w-water is all..."
Discord was gonna reply back to the blue pony when a nasty thought struck him which made him smile, evilly. "How about I send you to a place where you no longer have to worry about water, hmm?" he laughed.
The blue pony looked at him in horror. "No, my lord! I won't ask again, really I won't! I'll tell the other ponies not to complain! Please don't send me there, please!" she screamed as he was leading her into a corner, his sadistic smile getting bigger.
"But you seem so thirsty. It's my job to care for my subjects needs. You say you need water, so I'll give to you...in abundance!" he laughed as he snapped his eagle claw, causing water to completely surround just the blue pony. The water was able to submerge the pony and prevent her from moving. The pony tried to breathe, but the water covered her mouth and nose, causing her to suffocate. After a moment, the water faded away from the pony, now completely limb and lifeless.
"Now you have all the water you need now, my dear." he laughed evilly.
"You monster! You killed her!" Twilight yelled, no longer being able handle being in the past anymore. "Fus Ro Dah!" she shouted.
The magical bounds around Twilight's legs broke as Celestia's white magic came and picked up Twilight, sending her through a portal and back to the the present. The past whizzed past her once more, but this time going in a forward motion. Twilight went through another portal and landed on the ground, now back in the present.
"Was it that bad my student?" asked Celestia.
"Yes, he was so cruel. He killed a pony right in front of me. That poor earth pony..." Twilight cried.
"But it's all over now, Twilight. He's completely changed in the present and no longer a sadistic ruler. You know that." Celestia spoke with a small smile.
"I know. It isn't him anymore." Twilight said with her own small smile.
