"Gaze into the eyes of Limestone Pie."
A blue grey hoof move down her eyelid to show her limegreen eyes to the pony a few steps away of her. The greyish pink unicorn raised on her hindlegs. Her long yellow and green mane flow in the wind.
"Come to the chest of Lemon Zest."
The two ponies hugged each other, laughing out loudly. Their laughter echoed in the canyon of the rock farm for every member of the family to hear or almost every member. Limestone screamed into the mine: "Dad I take a break! Lemon has come for a visit!"
The two young mares had start their usuall stroll along the canyon towards the pond at the end of the stone walls as they talked about what happend to them lately.
"... and how was your Hearth Warming?"
Limestone grunted angerly about her memories: "Avalanchely!"
"Impossible it was that bad."
"Oh yeah? Put you headphones away and listen to this."- Lemon Zest smirked and levitated her headphone around her neck. -"So Pinkie had the glorious idea to bring her best friend to Hearthwarming because she had that insane idea that our Great Great Great Great UNCLE had married the great great great AUNT and that somehow made us a big family. Have you ever heard of a more ridiculous excuse!"
Lemon Zest giggled, but Limestone was not done.
"Mah parents wanted Pinkie Pie to get home over the holydays and agreed. So far so good right? No, that mare Applejack brought her whole family with her. So instead of giving a guest a room. We had to clean our room so they could sleep in ours. Me and my sisters had to share the quest bed. All four of us..."- The ponies jumped over the tree that had fallen into the canyon. -"... Were was I... Ah yeah. That Applejack really wanted sweet treats and all the goodies on Hearthwarming Eve."
"Yes, and?"
"On Hearthwarming Eve! Tell meh if I am wrong, but is Hearthwarming Eve not the day we suppose to remember the hardship of our ancestors? She can be lucky we served rocksoup. At least I could see that she did not particularly liked it. That was my treat."
The mares laught for a while, but then Lemon Zest told her: "In my family we eat frozen fruits, ice cream and cold drinks to remember the Windigos."
"For real? Still better than sugary goodness. Now I know our tradition of finding the flag to decide who is going to raise the flag is not common, but that is certainly NO reason for her to build a hoity-toity big city mall attraction out of our farm. Ramming a flagpole into a faultline and pushed Holder´s Boulder of the cliff."
Lemon Zest frozen in place looking back the way they came.
"She did what? But I saw..."
"We pushed it back up. But I am serious, that happened."
The two mares looked at each other making sure that was not a joke and that Lemon Zest understood that with no doubt.
"Wow!"
They continued their trot the walls slowly lowered towards the end. They sat down on the pond and listend to the new music of Alicornachy. Good - hard - honest - loud. Limestone and Lemon Zest had met on the BUCK´á´ROO music festival or to be exact their head have met by excessive jumping and headbanging.
"Hey Lime! Just thinking, how did Pinkie react to all the stuff her friend pulled off."
"She took it really hard as if it was her fault. Talked about just wanted our families to become on big family."- Limestone got angry all of the sudden. _"She even tried to play matchmaker with Marble and that brother of Applejack." Lemon Zest wanted to ask for the name. "Did not really catched it. Sounded like a nickname anyway."
Lemon Zest looked at her with a strange wondering face.
"You ever thought that there could be a little more going on?"
"I can´t follow."
Lemon Zest turned of the music with her magic.
"Your sister Pinkie brought her friend with her family to a family holiday and wanted you all to become one big family. This sounds to me, like she had introduced her coltfriend to her family."
"Applejack is a mare."
"Then marefriend."
"Pinkie is a mare, as well. Don´t you listen to your own words?!"
Lemon Zest looked back at the angry eyes: "You don´t want to get it, do you?"
Limestone yelled into Lemon Zest´s pink face: "You think my sister is a fillyfooler! Are you insane!"
"Hey! I never met Pinkie! I just saying how it look to me!"- Lemon Zest shouted back -"YOU told me she left the farm on a self finding trip. Now she comes back with a mare on her side."
Limestone pushed her forehead against Lemon Zest. They stared deep into eachothers eyes . Both resolute in the minds.
"If you keep spreading rumors about my sister I will punch you!"
"Since when are you so homophobic."
"I am not homophobic. You are a liar!"
"IF SHE IS A FILLYFOOLER AND YO..."- Limestone shoved her friend into the pond with a single punch of her hoof, but the mare continued as soon she came back to the surface. -"Huh! You know you could be the reason she has fear to come home!" Limestone jumped into the water and the two mare punched and kicked eachothers. Lemon Zest totaly forgot about her magic for the longest time. Finally the two mares were lying on the bank. Heavily panting.
"Buck, my headphone is broken."
Limestone looked at her friend and asked: "You really think Pinkie is a fillyfooler?"
"Heck if I know I never met her. I just say that if she is you should not react like this."
"Thanks for putting that into my head. I will never be able to share a bed with her again."
