Chapter 1: The Triple Rainboom
It is a beautiful day in Equestria. The birds are singing and the sun is shining. Rainbow Dash was flying as high as she possibly could, trying to perform a Sonic Rainboom. ''Alright Dash, this one is going to bigger then the other ones i have performed so far'' Dash thought to herself, '' i just gotta have the angle right''. She took a deep breath, and stopped flapping her wings and angled herself into a nosedive. As she fell, she felt the air rushing past her as she accelerated. '' C'mon Dash, you can do this'' Dash tought, trying to motivate herself. She went faster and faster and eventually, the Mach Cone started to form around her. At first the cone was round and bowl-like, but as she accelerated it became tighter and more like a spike. Her muscles were aching incredibly from all the flapping, but with enough perserverance, she finnaly broke the sound barrier. A huge boom erupted from from were she hit it. She looked back and saw a huge ring of colours coming from the place were she hit the boom. ''YES'' She screamed. ''This one's definitely bigger then the last one, i think i will be able to perform the Triple Rainboom this time around''. She slowed down and flew back up to her original position. '' Alright Dash, just focus''. She took another deep breath, and took another nosedive, faster this time. The mach cone formed again, and she was straining every muscle in her body to their absolute limits, making sure she had the angel and speed right. But the mach cone was a bit thicker and harder to break. '' C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon!'' Dash thought '' you can do this, youre freaking Rainbow Dash, the fastestb flier in Equestria for crying out loud! you should be able to handle a little boom''. But she was simply too exhausted and mentally drained to keep it up. The cone stopped her dead in her tracks and flung her toward Golden Oaks Library.
Twilight Sparkle was laying on her balcony, enjoying the afternoon sun with a cup of coffee and a good book to read. When she looked up into the cool blue sky, she noticed a cyan blue blur, speeding towards her at an alarming rate. She had a hunch as to who it could be, but decided to wait fo the crash to happen. After a few cruel seconds, Rainbow came careening into the balcony, barely missing Twilight, who quickly took a step back. ''Let me guess'', she said. '' you tried the Triple Rainboom again, but failed''. Rainbow, who was still lying on the floor in pain answered: '' yea, how did you know?'' she asked. ''well, this is the upteenth time you have crashed into my balcony, please stop trying, this stuff's dangerous and i don't want you to get hurt'' she said. '' Come on Twilight you know me, i am NOT giving up until i have it.'' Twilight sighed.'' do you by chance have book about flying fast i can borrow?'' she asked. ''yes, i do, why do you need it?'' she asked. ''well maybe i can use it to find any mistakes i made'' Twilight sighed again ''okay, it is in library, on the top shelf in the flying section.'' she said. ''Okay, thank you Twilight.'' Dash got to her hooves and flew into the library, she went to the flying section and went to the top shelf. She found the book after 2 minutes of searching and began to thouroughly study it. Eventually she found what she had been missing. '' AHA, i knew i was doing something wrong!'' And with that, she rocketed out of the library, ready to put what she had learned into practice.
