It was that very special day again for all the couples in Equestria. Yep. You guess it. It was Hearts and Hooves Day.
Many ponies were out with their super special somepony. Everypony. Except Fluttershy. She was at her cottage, tending to her lovely animals. Angel Bunny was always mad since Fluttershy never seemed to get his favorite meal right. She doubted that a store would open on this day. But, she lets out a sigh, as she grabbed her bag full of bits, and headed off towards the town market.
She looked around, finding the cherry stand. Last time, she didn't have enough bits. But now she does. She gave 10 bits to the cherry stand keeper, and she puts the cherry in her bag.
As Fluttershy headed back home, she noticed her friend, Rainbow Dash, flying with Soarin'. "I win again!" The rainbow mare bragged, laughing as well. "Yeah... You win.. For the 20th time." The stallion was completely out of breath, landing on a small cloud. "Lets race again! I swear, this will be the last time." Dash chuckled. Soarin' gave a sigh. "Fine. But one last time, then I need to go for my training for a Wonderbolts show coming up." And so, Soarin' and Dash raced each other again. Rainbow Dash was in the lead, as Soarin' tried his best to keep up, since he was still tired from all the other races they did.
Fluttershy sighed, frowning slightly as she watched the two Pegasi race, as thoughts flooded her mind about something. She shook her head to snap out of it, then headed back towards her cottage to make Angel's meal. "Alright, there. Nothing wrong with that, right?" Fluttershy asked her pet bunny. Angel nodded, then she started to eat. Looking at the clock, it was only one in the afternoon. Fluttershy decided to take a small nap, due to her walking all the way to Ponyville, and back to her cottage again. She headed upstairs towards her bedroom, climbed in her bed, and closed her eyes, falling asleep. Somehow, Fluttershy couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned, until finally, she woke up. Her mane was a mess. She looked at the clock on the wall, two in the afternoon. Time didn't fly fast.
"Oh to heck with it..." Fluttershy muttered, climbing out of bed and headed downstairs. Hoping to find something to do until the day gets over. She sighed again, then walked out the door, planning to take a small walk. In circles. Around her cottage. Though, she was probably going to get dizzy from that, but she didn't really care. As she was about to walk, she noticed a certain rainbow maned Pegasus sitting on a cloud above her cottage. Though, she seemed a bit blue. Not as in her coat color, but a bit sad. Truth be told, she somewhat had feelings for Fluttershy.
Fluttershy, being the nicest pony there is to her friends, she flew up to Rainbow Dash. "Dash?" She asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm fine. Just.. Bored out of my mind now that Soarin' left." Was Dash's answer. Fluttershy knew it had to be something to do with Soarin'. "Hmm.. Well... We could... Walk around Ponyville. That's not so boring, right?" The shy Pegasus chuckled as Rainbow raised an eyebrow, but sighed. "Fine. A walk sounds nice." So, the two Pegasi landed on the ground as they walked towards the town.
A few hours later, around midnight. Rainbow and Fluttershy headed back to the cottage. "That was fun." Fluttershy smiled, and Rainbow nodded. "I agree. We should hang out more, sometime! Anyways, I gotta head home. It's almost late. See ya around!" As Rainbow Dash was about to fly off, Fluttershy stopped her. "Dash, wait. There's something that I needed to tell you first.." The yellow Pegasus looked down at the ground to hide the blush that was appearing on her face. "Sure. What is it?" Asked Dash. "W-Well..." She started, not really sure how to put it, or say it. "... Okay. I'm just gonna say this bluntly.. I.. Have.. Feelings for you.. Like-" She paused again, "You know what I mean, and I know that you'll still pick Soarin' over me, but-"
Fluttershy was interrupted by Rainbow Dash hugging her, causing Fluttershy to blush even more. "I know what you mean, Flutters. And, I have feelings for you, too. I just didn't want to admit them cause I didn't know who you'll react." Rainbow Dash chuckled. Fluttershy was speechless. She didn't want to say. 'Dash has feelings for me?' She thought to herself. "I guess we're both on the same page, then." Fluttershy chuckled slightly, with another chuckle coming from Rainbow Dash. "Yeah."
"B-But.. Putting that aside, the real important thing is.. That.." Fluttershy paused, "W-Will you be my... super special somepony?..." She was somewhat afraid of what the answer was gonna be. But Rainbow Dash kissed her cheek. "Of course I will." She smiled. Fluttershy smiled back.
And so, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy spent the rest of Hearts and Hooves day, sitting around the fireplace all snuggled up in a cozy and soft blanket. Fluttershy nuzzled Rainbow Dash's cheek, "Love you, Dash."
"Love you too, Fluttershy." Rainbow Dash replied, as she nuzzled Fluttershy's cheek. Fluttershy had to admit, but this was probably one of the best Hearts and Hooves Day she's had yet.
