War is a cruel thing. Once it’s started it can’t be stopped. You can try to escape, run away from the punishment that you and your people caused, but that will only put you in danger. They’ll find you and take you to a terrible and dangerous place. A place run by Hell.
Why was he, out of all stallions in Equestria, always the one to be punished without a fair trial. Here he was, standing, looking at this purple unicorn, and wondered why had somepony come and bother him. After all he did live alone and didn't want anypony to accompany him. Magic took one long look at the stallion before turning around and continued to walk down the path. He had a load that he need to get home and if he didn't then he would forget and have to go back for more wood. Dusk shook his head and started to follow. "I did ask you a question. No need to be rude and walk off like that" Dusk said. Magic stopped, causing Dusk to run into him.
"What did you say?" Magic asked in a stern and angry tone.
"I said. . . um. . . I. . .” Dusk gulped. He didn't know that a stallion could act so harshly. Yeah, the land had turned to dust and there were still no signs that war would stop, but at least they acted like nothing had happened.
"Thought so. I heard you the first time. I need to get this home before I do anything else and besides I need time to think about these things. And you do to. I don't think that if a stallion that you don't even know asked you to go with him to a place that you've never heard of before, you would need time to think about these things. That or kill them." Magic continued to walk down the path and Dusk, even though he was a little scared, followed. As time passed, Dusk asked questions and Magic would simply answer or ignore him. Finally they arrived at Magic’s home. Dusk looked at his home. It was nothing he expected. It was the castle of the two Brothers. The last time he was here it was turning DarkHorse Night back to normal. He remember it looking wrecked and in ruins but now it was fixed and looked like it was rebuilt just recently.
Magic set the wood in a huge pile with the others. He turned and looked at Dusk. He realized that this stallion wasn't that bad. He looked around the castle in awe like this was his first time seeing one before. Was it? Magic walked over to ask when suddenly “Wow Magic! Did you rebuild this yourself. I mean one pony couldn’t build this on their own.” Dusk said looking wide eyed at the other.
“Oh um...Yes I did. It didn’t really take that long. I made spells and things to help with all the work seeing that there was so much damage taken to it.” Magic turned away blushing. Wait what am I blushing for? Haha no it can’t be that...Can it? No no I was just really flattered. Was I? The thought of liking another stallion was astonishing but Magic knew for sure that he liked mares. His whole life he expected to have his first mare friend a mare, but maybe that wasent the case at all.
Dusk looked at Magic with a confused look. ¨Hey are you alright? Was it something I said?¨ Magic turned around and looked at him with a nervous smile.
¨Haha no nothing you said nor did. I´ve thought about your request and I would go with you. Under one condition. That you tell me why you want me to go with you in the first place.¨ Dusk nodded his head and explained that Lord Solaris asked him to go and find Magic. That they needed him for something big.”Do you know the big... project that they need me to do?” Magic asked after the explanation was told.
“Not really. He rarely tells me the things that are important especially when it doesn't include me. All he told me was that I was to find you, Magic Harp, and bring you to Ponyville.” Dusk answered.
Magic knew that if the Lord of Equestria needed him, then this must be important. “Ok led the way. If he asked for me then I think it would be quite rude if I didn’t do what he requested.”
“Um...It’s getting dark and if we go now then there is a chance that we would be killed.”
“Okay fine then we can go to Ponyville in the morning. You can stay if you want.” Magic said with slight blush. Dusk noticed this but decided that it was nothing. He thanked Magic and followed him into the castle.
Dusk was again amazed by the new condition of the castle. Although it was dark, the features and details of the walls, roof, and floor were still visible. The roof was decorated in a way that made it look like two ponies, male and female, were looking down at the small ponies on the floor. The female was a white with a beautiful red and black main. Her eyes stood out the most out of all her features. They were a beautiful pale blue which explained why Magic had the same blue eyes. The male looked a lot like Magic. He had the same hair, blue rimmed with the rest of it black. Same dark gray fur. In the middle was a horn, but the most distinctive part of him was that he had a pair of wings. He was a alicorn. Magic called Dusk and ran down to where he stood. “Hey Magic, that painting on the roof, are they your parents?”
“Yes they are, why do you ask?” He felt like this was going to be a long conversation. He knew that not to many ponies knew of his parents and he wanted to keep it that way, but for the very first time, he was ready to tell somepony. And he knew that he was the stallion to trust.
“I was just wondering because your dad's’ an alicorn. I never knew that there was more than three.”
“Yes, no pony nor do any books tell you that. They wanted to keep it hidden. But enough of that come.” Magic lifted Dusk and himself up.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!” Dusk yelled
“Haha don’t worry you won't die, maybe….hahahaha!” He laughed.
Dusk opened his eyes to see that he was in a big room. The room was neatly decorated with pictures and plants. On the far right stood Magic outside on a huge ledge. He raised his hoof and motioned him to walk over. Dusk got up and walked over. When he could see over the iron ledge that prevented you from walking any further, he saw a field filled with small homes filled with all sorts of mare, colts, fillies, and stallions.
Dusk looked amazed and turned to Magic. “What is all this”
Magic sighed, ”This is what my parents ruled. This is what I look at when I want to see them.”
“What do you mean?”
“My parents are no longer alive. This is all a hologram. Or a memory from me that others can view. This room is special to me.” Magic had tears in his eyes. Dusk noticed this and put a hoof on his shoulder. Magic looked and and saw Dusk’s face. The face that his dad would make when he was sad and reassured that everything was going to be okay. “Thank you...Thank you…” The words seemed to echo in his mind.
Magic took them back to the main room. The fireplace was lit with a warm fire. On the table was a wine bottle with two light green glasses. Two blankets lay near the fireplace. “What’s this.” Dusk asked when he walked into the room.
“I put that there. Why?”
“HOW!”
“It’s pretty easy. Oh...I’m sorry I never informed you. My father was an apprentice to Star Swirl when he was really young. He taught him how to make his own spells and taught him the most advanced of spells. He meet my mother and they wanted to have a filly of their own. Unfortunately no matter how hard they tried they were never successful. So the last day of my father’s training he asked Star Swirl for a spell to create a filly without having to….well you know. So they finally created the spell and cast it on my mother. When I was born I looked almost ecacilly like my father except my eyes and my color of aura.”
“Wow, what a story. Haha, but it didn’t ask for your life story.”
“Oh well then. Come let’s go over. I am ready for a drink.” They both walked over to the area and laid down. They settled down and it fell silent. Finally Dusk asked something.” What's up with the cloak? You took it off under the blanket. Are you hiding something?” Magic almost spit out his wine. He knew he was going to ask sooner or later, but right now? It was to soon.
“Oh...um. I don’t like my cutie mark. I hide it so that no pony will see it. Haha.”
“Your lying I know it!” He yelled. Magic sighed and looked down. He made his cloak come back and put it on under the blanket .”Come with me if would please.” Dusk followed him into a small room. It was well lit and had only a few things. It has a decent sized bed with a desk that had a simple lamp. Once in the room, Magic closed the door and locked it. He mostion him to sit on the bed .”I’m getting scared now….what are you gonna show me?”
“OK so you are not to tell a living soul. If somepony were to find out then THEY will find me and that will not only put me in danger the same fate will fall upon you.” Dusk nodded his head. Magic looked at him with tears streaming down his face. He lifted the cloak up and a poof of smoke entered the room. “Hello there my little ponies!” A familiar voice said.
“Why hello there! Dusk nice to see you again. Who is this? He’s cute.” The voice said.
“Oh hey Eris. What a nice surprise, this is Magic Harp. You know the one Solaris wanted.” Dusk replied.
“What are you!?” Magic asked
“That was rude. I am a limited edition draconicus. Only found in the wonderful, but not so wonderful now, EQUESTRIA…”
“I would really appreciate it if you would stop yelling and get out of my house. I have somewhere to be in the morning.” Dusk said.
“Oh no no no no. I’m gonna stay here and then come with you. Solaris wants you back in one piece and there is no way that a pony like you can fight things off like me.” Dusk lifted up his hoof. “No more ok. Eris this is his home and if he asks you to leave then that’s what you should do.”
“I….Fine. I don’t see how you would like a stallion like this. He’s pretty mean to guests.” With that she snapped her fingers and she was gone. After that Magic told Dusk that this was the room he would be sleeping in, and went off to sleep near the fireplace.
Why was Magic blushing like that. I didn’t do anything wrong did I. No not that I can remember. Dusk thought. He crawled into bed and closed his eyes. He knew something was up, and that a his dream was sure going to surprise him.
