Butterfly Princess Of The Everfree Forest
Twilight Sparkle, walked slowly out of her castle that very day. Meanwhile, the three other princesses, Celestia, Luna, and Cadance, walked out of Canterlot Castle with the same grace as the relatively new princess of Equestria. They all agreed to have a very special picnic with somepony who is a very dear friend of theirs. Somepony who was not excatly a princess herself, but always has the nature and the outlook of a princess. She just happens to be a Pegasus. A Pegasus, who always spends time taking care of animals whenever she could. A Pegasus, who believes that kindness has the most power then any magic Equestria has to offer. A Pegasus, who knows when to admit when she's scared; despite her not showing it at first.
She didn't know it, but Celestia, Luna, Cadance, and Twilight, have all agreed on something else as well. Something, that will change the way how she thinks that she's nothing more then a pony who's afraid of her own shadow. Something, of how she can spread even more kindness to animals and everypony she meets. Something, that they surely believe that'll help her overcome her shyness. Something, that'll truly change her life forever. The princesses heard some soft flapping of wings in the distance. The very same soft flapping that she had always been doing ever since she landed towards the ground by a group of butterflies. She never really did enjoy flying with the same speed as Rainbow Dash. She feels about flying as a butterfly is the way she loves it.
Fluttershy, looked at all the princesses with soft teal eyes; she bowed gracefully; neither every one of the princesses stopped her from doing it. Fluttershy stood up, walked to the picnic blanket, sat down on the cusion in front of her, then she spoke in the same quiet voice she always had, "Thank you for inviting me on this lovely day for a picnic Your Highnesses, even you Twilight."
"Oh, Fluttershy, you know that I would always wanted you to spend time with us. It just seemed like a nice day for a picnic today", Twilight said in her usual polite voice to her friend. "Maybe you'll like what we..." Celestia put a hoof to Twilight's mouth, and shook her head. Twilight nodded her head in understanding matter.
"Fluttershy my dear, please help yourself to the spread of food", Celestia said, pointing a hoof to the food on the blanket in front of them. The food along with the basket next to it did look very deliscious. It had a variety of sandwiches, treats, and snacks. Fluttershy, picked up one of the sandwiches from the plate. She also noticed a tea set in front of the basket, which she gladly poured some tea into the cup she picked herself. She ate some of the sandwich, and after she swallowed it, she sipped her cup of tea. Fluttershy, couldn't help but notice something out of the corner of her eye.
It was a group of five bear cubs calling out for their mother, but she didn't answer. Fluttershy felt empathy for the poor little cubs, who are possibly orphans. "You poor poor things. I simply must take you back to my cottage. I'm very sorry Twilight and princesses, I'll have to cut the picnic short."
"We all perfectly understand Fluttershy, you go ahead and take care of them."
"That's right my dear, I too, understand that you need to take care of cubs who don't know how to care for themselves just yet."
"Aye, methinks that thou art needeth to lend a helping hoof to the wee cubs into thy care", Luna said in agreement.
"As a new mother, I know what it's like to see poor orphans, and would be glad to take them in and raise them as my own. I know how you really feel Fluttershy", Cadance said, knowing that she has a daughter to take care for now. Fluttershy nodded and walked to the cubs. All five of them, came up to her, and she hugged them. Twilight used her magic, and a cart appeeared which is just the right size for five bear cubs to get in. They all climbed in, Twilight helped Fluttershy getting hitched up to the cart. Fluttershy walked the cart very gently, knowing that the cubs are possibly afraid of hights.
It may have taken her a few hours to get to her cottage, but she and the cubs made it just fine. "Harry", Fluttershy called out to her bear friend. Harry heard her soft voice and came to her. "Harry, these five little cubs are orphans, will you please help me take care of them?" Harry looked at the cubs, then at Fluttershy, then back at the cubs. He nodded and walked to the big backyard at the cottage. The cubs followed closely behind him.
Fluttershy understands that in order to care for bear cubs, she would need a bear's help. And Harry was the perfect choice. Fluttershy and Harry know that rasing five orphan bear cubs would be a challage but they know that they can manage. They fed them, bathe them, fed them again and again; they did have a big appetite after all. Months passed, and the cubs were big enough to be on their own. Fluttershy said, "You're all welcome to come back and visit us anytime."
Harry nodded in agreement and so did the now fully grown bear cubs. The bears made their way back into the Everfree Forest. Fluttershy heard some hooves clapping from behind her. She turned around, and saw the four princesses of Equestria.
"Well done Fluttershy my dear, I knew you could do it."
"I don't understand. What did I do?"
"Well you see, I saw the mother bear dead in the forest several months ago the cubs must have searched for her everywhere and I knew that if anypony could take care of them you would. Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Cadance agreed with me."
"So you mean..."
"This was all part of the test of being a true princess by showing kindness to those who are in truly need of it."
"And I passed?"
"That's right Fluttershy you did."
An aura spread across Fluttershy and continued to spin and spin, until it faded. Fluttershy began to stir. She went to her cottage inside and looked herself in the mirror she saw a yellow horn on top of her forehead, a realization came across her face. "I'm a princess." Fluttershy had truly proven that a pony with kindness in his or her heart can be just like royalty even though they don't have title or crown or even a castle to live in. But they can still have their own special kingdom. And didn't even notice that to everypony around her that she was a princess. Even to her animal friends. Fluttershy now and forever felt very confident to overcome her shyness. And still be herself. As the princesses left, Fluttershy said very quietly, "I'll try to be the best princess I can be. I'll try to spread kindness as my own special princess. And even though I'll slip up, I'll try to better myself. I am a princess long may I reign."
