The dreadful news had reached Starfury at dawn. As lieutenant of the guard, he was the third to be notified. The enemies' movements proceeded at a rapid pace, prideful of their actions that have harmed the nation so. As the news spread, the crime rate in Canterlot increased rapidly. Everyone cried out the name of the one that has died, Princess Celestia.

The next day, Starfury's eyes were swelled and crimson. The bright-blue colt, who was walking down the hallway to briefing, jostled a majestic, beautiful griffin. Her name was Blackwing, as her feathers described. Her eyes were that of glistening emeralds, her sleek body ready to take to the sky at a moments notice. The face of an angel was the most common description. "You trying to start something, tough guy?", she pushed her face closer to Starfury's. "You ready to rumble then? Lets rumble!" he replied. They both stood there looking into each other's eyes, neither taking a step forward. They both laughed at each other, not spiteful, but friendly. "You looked like a cross-eyed turtle on a Wednesday." Blackwing was on the floor laughing on her back. "Well I didn't look half as stupid as you did." Starfury fell next to her, their heads bumping into each other. Blackwing's face grew red and she got up instantly. "S-so, looks like you took the news pretty hard." She said with a solemn look upon her face. "She was the guidance these people needed, without her, we all are distraught." Starfury looked down at his hooves. "I should have been there on guard next to her bedroom. I could have-" "You could have done nothing," Blackwing looked into his eyes. "She was poisoned by the changeling disguised as the chef." Starfury held back the tears growing in his eyes. "Well I'll see you around then." Starfury dismissed himself so he wouldn't cry in front of his comrades. A commanding officer needs to be strong on and off the battlefield.

Starfury took a deep breath before entering the briefing room. He trotted in, spotting three soldiers. He only knew the names of two, Captain Crosshair and Staples. The third was a mysterious hooded figure, obviously a halfling. "Happy to see you finally stopped flirting." The Captain teased. "I don't know Captain, maybe she was trying to get away." Staples sneered. "Glad to see you're still a douche bag Staples." A guttural laugh followed by a tiny screech uttered from the halfling's direction. The sound caused Staples to cringe. "Anyways, now that we are all here, we can get this briefing over and done with." The Captain said in her authorial voice.she turned to the projector to her right, and started cranking as the lights turned out.

The face of Princess Celestia appeared on the wall. She looked toward the group, all listening intently. "I-is this thing on? It is? O-oh... Dear warriors of Equestria, if you are reading, I mean watching this, that means I have passed onto the other side. You have been chosen by me to go about a very special mission. You are to take my Amulet of the Sun to my sister, Luna." Awe filled the room. We were chosen by Celestia herself, it was an honor. "Without the Amulet,night will never fall, and she may return to being Nightmare Moon. Please, do not let my sister betray Equestria in its time of need."

"As you saw, this is top priority right now." The Captain entered authorial mode again. "She picked all of us to do this, why?" Starfury pondered. "looks like she made a mistake." Staples pointed in Starfury's direction. "Could you not be a dick for two minutes..." The metallic voice that came from the halfling sounded almost feminine. "Just shut up, all of you!" The Captain slammed her hooves on the desk. "Right now, Princess Luna is in her sanctuary, located in the heart of Mt. Nocturne. You have two days to get ready for the journey, hope to see you there."
