Dear journal, today was the first day at 'private School' tutor Merri Star, my old instructor quit. I hate her. She left me alone with my family! I remember how she told me stories of heroes, like the bearers of the elements of harmony. I wish I was like Princess Twilight Sparkle, her friends may be gone, but she's still here. But anyway I'm rambling. My parents spend all their time at the palace with King Sombra to  be bothered by me. My Sisters a may be fine with it, but I am not! (Except me and Elbony of course!) This is too hard I'm taking a break from writing my thoughts... it makes me weak.

Once the pale rose unicorn was done writing she decided to go get a snack and come back to write more. She got up from her ornate desk, and picked up her journal and sat it under her pillow. She tough in her head, "How cliche." She took a look around her bedroom and thought "how manny people would kill for this, and yet I'd through it all away for my parents appreciation," she sighed. It was no use. She couldn't hope for change there would be no change.She just needed to deal with what she had she was Twelve she knew how to take care of herself. Who knew what the world laid out before her hopeful there would be some opportunity for her. Anyway, she turned around to face towards the door and she saw Elbony.

"Elbony, for what do I owe the pleasure?" Gloria said to her only true friend in the world, Elbony, her half sister on her father's side. She was beautiful, unlike all the other Roses. She had  vibrant orchid colored mane he perfectly straight and styled mane, and well compared to her mane her coat was a dull gray. Her mahogany eyes were to die for, as her father would say. Elbony's stepmother hated her, so she wasn't really a part of her life.

"Gloria I came here to see if you would care to go and retrieve a snack with me and eat it under the apple tree," she said plainly as if she had practiced, wich was something that was developed in the Rose family.

"Why not under the crystal leaf tree?" Gloria said looking at Elbony happily and with excitement, "But either way I accept."

"That is great to hear, I'm glad someone likes me if this place!" she replied jokingly as she flipped her  vibrant mane.

" Me too, dear sister," Gloria said as she turned around and headed out of the baby blue themed room to the kitchen there first stop.

As they sat under the blue crystal leaf tree, watching ponies walk on the main road in the distance while eating crystal apple pie. That was both Elbony and Gloria's favorite, it was steam and fresh out of the oven. They lived in a large mansion themed like the Crystal Palace. The mansion was about one-fourth of a mile away from the road. It was never calm inside the Crystal Empire, their mansion was guarded by Sombra's guard he couldn't let his General's  family die with the working class rioting. They really didn't talk much  about that or anything for that matter they just liked being around each other.

"Gloria? How was your first day at private school?" Elbony asked kindly still looking at the ponies on the street, through the cast iron gate.

"It was interesting," said Gloria thinking of ways to describe what here day was like. "Well I learned the same type of stuff just in a different way,"

"That's sounds nice, you know it's only till we have a tutor for you again." Elbony said, turning her head towards her sister, well half-sister.

"Gloria! Are you out there," they heard Alexandria, Gloria's mother call out for her from the porch. It was best not to keep that mare waiting.

"Coming Mother!" Gloria shouted back then turning to Elbony. "Are you-"

"I can't come with you because I'm not one of her Precious daughters," she replied angrily "but in her daughter, not the less, I guess I'll go."

"All right last one there is a rotten egg!" Gloria shouted after she was half way there back at her.

"No fair!" she shouted as she began to gallop after her.

"All's fair in love and war my friend," quoted Gloria to Elbony who was irritated at losing the race against her sister.

"Elbony you can't come as only that of noble breathing, and blood can. Go to your room for further notice." The white unicorn mare with a red mane said coldly to Elbony. "Now you, my dear we have exciting news!" she said as she began to lead Gloria into the meeting room of the house, leaving Elbony on the porch.

"There's my daughter!" Her dad, Davian said excitedly, and enthusiastically. That's when she noticed King Sombra in the room, this can't be good she thought. " His Highness King Sombra of shadows as picked you to be his bride you will live with him in the castle of course."

"Bu-but I'm not even of age!" she pleaded, but it was no use.

"Oh, I forgot to  mention that you'll be in the palace until your wedding day wich you'll be when you're sixteen wich is old enough." She was shocked she was enjoying a nice day with her best friend in the entire world. She was utterly shocked, she was scared.

" You will be leaving tonight so get the thing you want to take with you," Sombra said look at the pony that was almost as tall as him. She was surprisingly tall, for her age.

"As you wish your Highness," she said then immediately trotted off her room to pack her stuff. Sombra was not a man the mess with. Even she knew that.
