The pegasus writhed around his small cell, in the room his parents put him in. Gloomy Day, a Pegasus from Las Pegasus, had been dealing with severe randomness disorders. Ripped away from his five best friends, and forever locked in his room, his parents never noticed that the faint blue birthmark he had had faded to gray, all the depression. For seven years, he had been trapped in his own little decaying room, tied up with cloth. Then his door opened, two figures walked in, and the door closed. It was locked.
Gloomy was freed from his tight cloth bond, and stretched his forever-aching muscles. "Thank you. Who might you be?" he said, with a tiny bit of joy.
"I am Princess Twilight Sparkle of Ponyville. I am the fourth and newest of the alicorn princesses, but you may call me Twilight!" the purple mare explained.
"I'M PINKIE PIE AND WE'VE COME TO HELP YOU GET YOUR HAPPINESS BACK!" the energetic pink one bounced around with a little too much enthusiasm.
He stood up and used his free, finally free muscled hooves to bow to the alicorn.
"There is no need to bow to me, Gloomy. We've been sent to bring you to your friends. We were sent to you first because we heard you knew where Plants For Hire lives. All I want to do is help you." Twilight said.
"Oh, oh. Sorry, Twilight." Gloomy said, getting up. "In fact, I do know where Plants For Hire lives. She works at this place called the 'Mystery Shack' or something, I think. A master of deceit and lies ever since I had to leave. The rest didn't take it well and our friendship fell apart. But I'm so glad you've decided to come and help!" Gloomy's cutie mark lit up, and a shimmer passed up his body. A faint blue patch was on his left hoof, and it had a star on it that was a dark grey.
The three ponies walked out, saying goodbye to Gloomy's parents. "Hey, a good amount of randomness never hurt anyone. But too much can have dire consequences!" Pinkie Pie said as they headed towards their next destination: Appleoosa.
