MLP: New Friendships are Magic Ep. 1

Episode 1: Warm Welcome

It was a nice morning in Ponyville .Twilight Sparkle takes a walk over to Sugarcube Corner to see Pinkie

Pie, but by the time she walks in she sees Pinkie jumping all over the place.

Twilight Sparkle: Uh, hi Pinkie what's gotten you so-

Pinkie Pie: Twilight! Did ya hear? Did ya hear? Did ya hear?

Twilight Sparkle: Did I hear what?

Pinkie Pie: There's gonna be a new pony in town.

Twilight Sparkle: Really?

Pinkie Pie: Yeah. It's gonna be so great.

Twilight Sparkle: Hey, how did you know that there would be a new pony?

Pinkie Pie: Oh I heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy who heard it from this guy's cousin that a new pony would be moving here soon.

Twilight Sparkle:  Do you know what kind of pony he or she is?

Pinkie Pie: Nope, but I hope he or she like to party. Wait that's it!

Twilight Sparkle: What's it?

Pinkie Pie: We'll give him or her a surprise welcome, and I bet he or she will be so happy, he or she will want to stay in Ponyville forever.

Twilight Sparkle: Actually, a surprise sounds like a nice idea.

Pinkie Pie: See?

Twilight Sparkle: Okay. I'll get everypony in town to gather up and get ready for the surprise.

Pinkie Pie: I'll prepare the party.

Twilight rushes off to town to tell everypony to prepare for the big surprise. A few hours later everypony was hiding behind different places.

Twilight Sparkle: Remember everpony. We only jump out when the new pony takes his first step in town.

A pegasus pony then flies above them.

Pegasus pony: I see him he's coming.

Twilight Sparkle: Everypony hide!

All the ponies begin to hide and wait for the new pony to enter.

???: Hmm. If I'm right, this should be Ponyville . Strange, it's kind of empty. Where is everypony?

As soon as he makes his first step into town….

Everypony: SURPRISE!!!!

???: GAH!!

The new pony suddenly flies into the air out of fear and has a freaked out look on his face.

Twilight Sparkle: Oh, he's a Pegasus.

Twilight begins to walk up to the frozen pony.

Twilight Sparkle: Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. We didn't mean for the surprise to scare you.

???: O-Oh. No need to apologize I'm not much of a surprise pony.

Twilight Sparkle: Let me introduce myself. My name is Twilight Sparkle. Welcome to Ponyville.

???: I'm Sketch. Pleased to meet ya.

Twilight Sparkle: Like wise. How about I give you a tour of the town?

Twilight and Sketch begin to walk together through the town. Twilight looks at Sketch's cutie mark, which was a color palette and a paint brush . Twilight then begins to put up a new conversation.

Twilight Sparkle: So what exactly do you do?

Sketch: Oh I'm an artist.

Twilight Sparkle: Really? Are you any good?

Sketch: Pfft. Am I any good?

Sketch takes out a pop out canvas and a pencil from his pack and begins to draw. In four seconds he drew a beautiful portrait of Twilight.

Sketch: Well?

Twilight Sparkle: Amazing. You did that in four seconds flat.

Sketch: What? Too slow?

Twilight Sparkle: What made a talented pony like you come to Ponyville? You look like you would be in a lot more places here.

Sketch: Trust me I've been to a lot of places. Phillydelphia, Colt Lake City, Canterlot you name it.

Twilight Sparkle: Oooo, well-traveled.

Sketch: Yeah, but I only left from all those places because no matter where I was, it felt like something was missing in my art. I thought I could find my inspiration somewhere here.

Twilight Sparkle: Well I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for here.

Twilight walks Sketch to her library as their first stop.

Twilight Sparkle: This is my library. I have tons of books here, so if you need any, I will gladly loan you some.

Sketch: Cool. Say, would you happen to have any books on Picardo va Dincci? He's one of my most favorite artists, and I want to look up some of his works.

Twilight Sparkle: Oh, I think I have a book like that inside. Follow me.

As they walk inside Twilight begins to look for the book and calls Spike to help her.

Twilight Sparkle: Spike can you help me find a book on Picardo va Dincci?

Spike: No problem Twi.

Sketch: Woah! Is that a baby dragon?

Spike: Who's he? Is he the new pony I heard about?

Twilight Sparkle: Yes. Spike this is Sketch. Sketch this is my assistant Spike.

Sketch: Wow a dragon as an assistant. Now that's cool.

Spike: Heh. I like this guy already.

Twilight Sparkle: Ah, found the book. Here you go.

She gives the book to Sketch and he puts it in his pack.

Twilight Sparkle: Alright. Onward to the next stop.

Sketch: Right behind ya. See you later Spike.

Spike: Bye. Can't wait to hang out some time.

The next stop was Sugarcube Corner. Twilight and Sketch begin to walk to the front door.

Twilight Sparkle: This is Sugarcube Corner, the town's sweet shop. They have cakes,candy, and all other kinds of stuff you want.

Sketch's stomach starts growling really loud.

Sketch: Heh heh. Well I am feeling kind of hungry. I guess I'll eat something before-

Pinkie suddenly charges out the door, lands on top of Sketch, and keeps jumping on him not knowing he's there.

Pinkie Pie: Twilight! Is he or she here? Is he or she here? I want to meet the new pony, where is he or she?

Twilight Sparkle: Close *points down to Sketch*

Pinkie looks down and sees herself standing on an injured Sketch below her. She automatically  moves away.

Pinkie Pie: Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry. Uh, one second.

She zooms inside of Sugarcube Corner and comes out with a cupcake on her hoof.

Pinkie Pie: Here. An apology cupcake on the house.

Sketch reaches for the cupcake and eats it whole.

Sketch: Mmm. Pretty good cupcake.

Twilight Sparkle: I'll just introduce you. Sketch this is Pinkie Pie. Pinkie Pie this is Sketch.

Pinkie Pie: Okay. Now that the introductions are out the way, time for the most important question. *moves close to Sketch's face* Do….you like….to party?

Sketch: Well yeah. Who doesn't like a good party?

Pinkie Pie: WOOHOO! I can already tell we're gonna be good friends.

Twilight looks at the clock tower and suddenly begins to freak out.

Twilight Sparkle: Aah!

Sketch: What?

Twilight Sparkle: We're three minutes behind schedule.

Sketch: We had a schedule?

Twilight Sparkle: Come on Sketch. If we run, we can make it to the next stop on time.

Sketch: Okay. See you later Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie Pie: Bye.

Twilight and Sketch's next stop was Carousel Boutique. They ran the whole way, so they were a little bit tired.

Twilight Sparkle: Phew, made it.

Sketch: Phew, man I'm out of shape.

Twilight Sparkle: Okay, this is Carousel Boutique, a fashion studio. My friend Rarity make beautiful dresses for lots of famous people.

Sketch: Interesting.

Both of them begin to walk inside and see Rarity working on something.

Rarity: Oh hello Twilight. Oooo is he the new pony.

Twilight Sparkle: Why yes. Sketch this is Rarity. Rarity this is my new friend Sketch. I think you'll like him Rarity he dabbles in some arts too.

Rarity: Really? What kind of arts?

Sketch: Mostly fine arts. I guess you're more into fashion.

Rarity: Why yes. Do you want to see a project I've been working?

Sketch: Sure.

Rarity: Oh, I hope it fits.

Twilight Sparkle: Uh…Rarity.

Rarity suddenly pulls out a dressing curtain and dresses Sketch behind it. When she was done Sketch had on a gold suit with a multicolored bow tie.

Rarity: Well? What do you think? I never made a suit before, but I think it turned out marvelous don't you think?

Sketch: I…uh…uh.

Rarity: Oh you don't like it. Maybe it's the tie.

She tries to take off the tie and accidentally chokes him. Then she just completely takes the suit off of him. Rarity then stresses about remaking the suit and begins working.

Twilight Sparkle: Maybe we should go. Bye Rarity.

Twilight and Sketch begin to walk out of the boutique and prepare to go to the next stop.

Twilight Sparkle: I'm sorry about Rarity. She's really serious when it comes to her outfits.  Alright. Our next

stop is out of town so it will be quite a walk.

Sketch: Ow. My neck.

Suddenly something speeds past the both of them with a rainbow trail.

Sketch: Woah. Did somepony get the number of that rainbow?

Twilight Sparkle: Oh that's just Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash flies back down to Twilight.

Rainbow Dash: Sup Twilight.*looks at Sketch* Is he the new pony?

Twilight Sparkle: Yes. This is Sketch. Sketch meet Rainbow Dash. Rainbow this is Sketch.

Sketch: I know you. In flight camp you made that huge sonic rainboom. I was there at that race.

Rainbow Dash: Oh yeah. You look kind of familiar now.

Sketch: That rainboom was the most awesome thing I've ever seen. So what have you been up to?

Rainbow Dash: Oh you know, hanging out, napping, practicing my moves for the Wonderbolts.

Sketch: Wait, the Wonderbolts? You think you're that good enough to join them.

Rainbow Dash: Want a demonstration?

Sketch: Thrill me.

Rainbow Dash then flies into the sky and does tons of flipping and barrel rolls.

Sketch: Woah! She's pretty good.

Twilight Sparkle: She usually is.

Rainbow Dash: Now check out this new move. I call it the spectrum tornado.

She then spins really fast and creates a multicolored tornado.

Rainbow Dash: Uh oh. I can't stop!

The tornado goes out of control and zooms all over the place until it crashes into Sketch.

Rainbow Dash: Well that went well.

Sketch: Could've fooled me.

Twilight Sparkle: Are you okay? *looks at clock tower* Ah! We're late.

Twilight uses her magic to carry Sketch and runs off with him.

Sketch: Wah! Wait a second!

Rainbow Dash: Uh….okay. See ya later Sketch.

The next stop was at Sweet Apple Acres. Twilight was exhausted from the running by the time she made it.

Twilight Sparkle: We…..made it………So…….tired.

Sketch: Well I wouldn't know since you carried me here with your magic.

Applejack comes from behind Sketch and looks down at Twilight on the ground.

Applejack: Well hey Twilight. You look terrible.

Twilight Sparkle: Gee, thanks. Oh right, this is-

Applejack: Let me guess. The new pony right?

Twilight Sparkle: Yup.

Applejack walks up to Sketch grabs his hoof and started shaking it so hard that she picks him up off the ground.

Applejack: Howdy do there. I'm Applejack. I work here on the farm of Sweet Apple Acres. Anything you need we'll be more than happy to offer.

Sketch: *hoof starts throbbing* I'm Sketch. Quite a hoof shake you got there. *stomach growls* Guess that cupcake I ate wasn't enough to fill me.

Applejack: Luckily we prepared for that.

She grabs Sketch and takes him to a table right right next to the barn with the apple family standing on

each side. The table had tons of treats which made Sketch even hungrier.

Applejack:  Here ya go. Courtesy of the apple family. Granny Smith, Big Macintosh, and Applebloom.

Granny Smith: Why we were so plum excited when we heard somepony new was comin, we wanted to

show em' how big of a welcome we can give.

Big Macintosh: Eeyup.

Sketch: Woah, thanks.

Applejack: You want something Twi-

Twilight Sparkle: Okay we are ten minutes behind schedule, but that's alright since we only have one stop left. Now if we cut off a few minutes from here-

Sketch: Alright. More for me.

Applejack then grabs a piece of apple pie and shoves it into Sketch's mouth.

Applejack: Might I recommend our famous apple pie?

Sketch: Mmmmmm…

Applejack: *shoves an apple fritter in Sketch's mouth* Our apple fritters.

Sketch: Mmmmmmmm…

Applejack: *shoves apple tarts in Sketch's mouth* Our apple tarts.

Sketch: Wai a schecond.

Applejack: Our apple turnovers, apple cobbler, apple dumplings, apple fries.

Applejack kept feeding Sketch so much food that by the time she was done, Sketch's stomach ended up huge.

Sketch: Oooooooooooooooh…….

Applejack: Uh….maybe I went a bit overboard.

Twilight Sparkle: Okay I found a way to fix the schedule so we should leave- Aaah!

Sketch: Oooooooooooooooooooh…….

Twilight Sparkle: Maybe we should go.

Twilight carries off Sketch with her magic, and it was off to the last stop.

Applejack: See ya. And sorry for the overfeeding.

The final stop was Fluttershy's cottage. Twilight was starting to feel uneasy, considering all of the accidents that happened at each stop. Overall, she was determined to make sure that nothing would go wrong with this stop.

Twilight Sparkle: Okay there were alot of minor casualties in last few stops, but this one is will be much better, trust me.

Sketch: Actually, I don't-

Twilight Sparkle: Ah, we're here. This is my friend Fluttershy's cottage. She takes care of animals, and if you ask she might give you a pet if you like. Though she is very shy, so she might not talk much.

Twilight knocks on Fluttershy's door, but Fluttershy hesitates to answer the door.

Fluttershy: Uh……hello.

Twilight Sparkle: Hi Fluttershy. I got someone I would like you to meet.

Sketch: Hi.

Fluttershy: Eek! *slams the door*

Twilight Sparkle: Excuse me a second.

Twilight walks in the cottage and pushes Fluttershy out herself.

Twilight: Fluttershy this is the new pony, Sketch.

Fluttershy: ….Hi…….I'm……Fluttershy.

Sketch:  I'm sorry, what was that.

Fluttershy: ....I'm….Fluttershy.

Sketch: One more time please.

Fluttershy: ……………..

Breaking the awkward silence Angel Bunny comes out from the cottage and runs on top Sketch's head.

Sketch: Well who's this cute this little guy?

Fluttershy: Oh, his name is Angel Bunny. It looks like he likes you.

Sketch: Well I'm glad I made another friend. It may be a bunny, but hey, what do I care?

Suddenly Angel takes Sketch's bag and runs off with it.

Sketch:  What the hay. He took my bag!

Twilight Sparkle: Oh no.

Fluttershy: Angel, come back! Bad bunny!

The three of them chase Angel all over the cottage. All over the field, through the chicken coop, but they were finally catching up to Angel…….until he ran inside the cottage and slammed the door on Sketch's face. The others were right behind him, so they crash into Sketch as well.

Twilight Sparkle: That's it. I give up. So far every stop we had was a catastrophe.

The rest of the gang had then arrived and they didn't look to happy.

Twinkle Sparkle: I guess we ruined the joy of moving to Ponyville for you and we understand if you want

to leave.

Sketch: Leave? Are you kidding? This was most fun I had in ages.

Everypony: Huh?!

Rarity: But in every place you went to, you've been through so  many accidents.

Sketch: Please. It was a lot less boring than the other places I lived in.

Pinkie Pie: But what about the time I used you like a trampoline?

Sketch: Accidents happen. You didn't know I was there.

Rarity: What about that suit I made for you? You acted like it you didn't like it.

Sketch: Oh, I liked it. I just didn't know how to comment on it, since I don't know much about fashion.

Rainbow Dash: What about my trick gone wrong? I'm pretty sure I crashed into you pretty hard.

Sketch: I'm willing to forgive. Awesome trick by the way.

Applejack: So you're not mad 'bout that stuffing I gave ya?

Sketch: After tasting that apple pie? Why would I be mad? Best I've ever tasted.

Fluttershy: But, Angel took your bag.

Suddenly Angel came back outside and gave back Sketch's bag.

Sketch: See? He was just playing.

Twilight Sparkle:  But what about us being super behind schedule?

Sketch: Again, we had a schedule?

Rainbow Dash: Yeah. She sometimes schedules everything.

Sketch: See, when it comes to making new friends, you gotta learn to have a little patience. Cause when it comes to friends you gotta live with their quirks and flaws . That's just who they are.

Pinkie Pie: So you'll stay?

Sketch: Yes, I'm staying.

Rainbow Dash: ALRIGHT!

Sketch: You know, I guess I was bored in all those places because I didn't have any friends there. I mean Manehattan was full of jerks and Canterlot had a lot of snobs. Wait. That's it. THAT'S IT!

Twilight Sparkle: What's it?

Sketch: That's what I was missing in my art. I was missing friends that would inspire me. Now that you are my friends, my head is overflowing with tons of ideas right now.

Twilight Sparkle: I guess you did find what you needed in Ponyville afterall. This will make a great letter to Princess Celestia.

Sketch: Letter to Princess who now?!

Everypony but Sketch: Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Later at Twilight's library.

Twilight Sparkle: Dear Princess Celestia. Today I learned something important about making new friends. When you try to make new friends, don't try so hard to impress them. Because if you really want to him or her your friend, then just be yourself. Because they just might accept you for who you are. No matter what quirk or flaw you have. From your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle

Then came a sudden knock on Twilight's.

Sketch: Hey Twilight. Do you have any books on building decoration? I didn't think about what my studio would look like.

Twilight Sparkle: Oh brother.
