The Symptoms Of Lichyosis

The man slowly pulled out his knife, hiding in the shadows. He watched the guard in his golden armor pass by, before going up behind him. He overthrown the knife onto his neck, then slit it, while covering his mouth. The man fell to the floor, dead. The man, in a black outfit, continued down the hallway.

There had been recent assassinations of guards in the Canterlot Castle. Celestia had wished that it would be kept secret, but it soon got out into the public. Now, the canterlot halls lay empty, only filled with guards looking for the killer.

Twilight knew about this, so did the other five. Twilight was certainly scared.. No, not for herself, but for the Princesses. What would happen to them? Were they next? She couldn't stop thinking about it. The assassinations were happening every night. It was even reported that last night, not only eight guards, but two innocent's were murdered. He wasn't only targeting the guard's now, but innocent bystanders.

Twilight was studying when her mind swept back into the deep thoughts of these horrifying thoughts. She was now staring blankly at her paper, forgetting what she was right.

"Erhm Erhm, Twilight?" Spike asked, who was standing right next to her with a letter in his hand. An insignia suggesting it was from Canterlot.

"Oh, thank's Spike." She said, grabbing the letter.

"Look, I know that you're thinking about what's happening at Canterlot. Don't worry about it, alright?" Twilight looked at him sternly for a second.

"How am I not supposed to not care about it? It's bad news, especially with all those death's being at Canterlot. You know, where the princesses are? I just don't want them to get hurt."

"I know, all i'm saying is that you shouldn't worry about it too much. The princesses can take care of themselves."

"I know Spike. But there's always a possibility." She said, before she opened the letter.

Canterlot Castle

Twilight Sparkle, I am sure that you know by now the murders and death's of Guards, and Citizens here in Canterlot. I do not want you to be alarmed by this, but I have a new task for you. During our search last night, a guard went to go check on the Laboratory. What he found, was an open bottle of the substance : Lichyosis. I want you to come here and study the substance. I don't know what it's doing here. Lichyosis is found near the Griffin's land. But, it's here for some odd and peculiar reason. If you are scared about safety, it's alright, I have plently of guards. You will be secured safely, I can assure you that.

Twilight wasn't sure about the idea of studying Lichyosis. The deadly substance was banned from all creatures in Equestria for a good reason. Especially of it's deadliness. Not only that, but the idea of staying at a place were Murders happened? Twilight wasn't so sure about that idea either. Twilight guessed that, Celestia know's best. She would make her haste there immediately. Of course bringing her trusty friends along.

She walked out of her house to go get the others, before going on her journey on the train to Canterlot.

[ Two Hours Later ]

"Well, we're here." Twilight said reluctantly. She didn't want to do this. But if it would please her mentor, she would do it. They started down the path to the main gates.

"YAAAAAAAAY!" Pinkie screamed at the tops of her lungs.

"Quiet Pinkie! You're too loud." Rarity scowled Pinkie.

"Sorry.."

"So, Twi, we're just supposed to stay the night in a murder house?" Rainbow asked.

"Well, no, not exactly.. If you put it like that, it makes it sound worse than it already is."

"I-I'm scared.." Fluttershy said quietly.

"It's alright Pinkie. We're right here." Apple Jack told her, hoping to calm her down. Spike, following silently.

They made it to the main gates. The guards knew of Twilight coming, and let her past. Their hands sweating, gripping their spears for whatever might happen to them at night.

They kept walking until they made it to the Laboratory. They walked into the inside of it. It was completely white, and cold. Bed's set up for the six of them. Celestia was standing there.

"I'm glad you made it Twilight. I set up these bed's for you. They're quite comfortable, I can assure you. Everything's set up here. I give you full access to anything you may need. You also have guard's standing outside the door, incase if the 'intruder' ever tries to get in. If you ever need anything, send me a letter."

"Will do, Princess." Twilight said, taking a seat on one of the beds. Celestia left the room.

"Alright girls, let's get some sleep."

"SLEEPING?!" Rainbow asked. "You think we're gonna' sleep here when there's a murderer on the loose?"

"I don't like the sound of it either, but it's almost night, and we need to get our sleep."

"I-I'm scared.." Fluttershy said, once again.

"It's alright Flutters, i'll be right beside you." Applejack said, pushing her bed directly side-to-side of Fluttershy's bed.

"It's so... Cold.." Rarity said, chillingly. Her teeth were practically chattering.

"Then go to sleep, and wrap yourself in those blankets. Goodnight girls.." Twilight said, before using her magic to flip the switch out.

They slowly fell asleep.
