It was a dark and stormy night in Canterlot. All ponies in the city would stay in their homes until the storm passes, but there was one mare outside in the storm looking at a building. She wore a black cloak to hide herself so other ponies will not recognize her. And on her back was a basket that held a sleeping foal.
She walked up to a building that was a orphanage and placed the basket down on the steps of the building “I sorry my little angel but I can’t keep you. Your father never wanted you to exist in the first place but when I found out I had you, I had to keep it a secret so you wouldn't be killed just like my last child” The mare started to caress her hoof against the child’s check then planted a small kiss on the baby's forehead. “Mommy will always love you” Then she knocked on the door and started to run into the darkness of the night with tears in her eyes.
The door to the orphanage open and a young violet earth pony mare looked outside to see who it was. She looked to her right then to her left and then finally looked to see so the basket. “Oh my!” She said as she looked closer to see what was inside.
When she removed the blanket from the basket she saw a small unicorn baby colt. His coat was dark blue and his mane was yellow with streaks of blue. Then the foal open his eyes and it made the mare back up from the foal. When she looked at him, it was of pure shock of what she was seeing. His left eye was pure as the sky while his right was bright yellow as the sun.
“What is with your eyes?” She said out of pure curiosity. She then started to look around in the basket to look for something of an identification but couldn't find any. She then went to look at the foal more to see if there was something on him and then she found something.
On his neck was a necklace that was gold, and it had a gold heart on it. She wanted to see if it might be a locket but when she touched it, she felt electricity sting her hoof and back off from it. When she looked at her hoof she saw a burn mark that made her eyes go wide. She then looked at the foal to see that he was unhurt from it.
“I guess it must be enchanted and maybe only he can open it” she then started to pick up the child and was careful for him if he fell. “I guess you're abandoned like the rest of the children in here, but I have no clue what your name is? I guess I will call you Sunlight, how does that sound?” She said with a small smile.
The child started to giggle after hearing that name.
“Ok it's official, your name is Sunlight and well since I found you, maybe I could be like your mom, how about that?” She said.
She got another giggle from the child which made her smile “Well let me take you in so we can get out of this storm and put you in a nice comfy bed so you can sleep well” After saying that she went inside with the foal on her back and the basket in her mouth. She placed them down and went back to close the door. Before she closed it, she could have sworn she saw something move in the darkness.

21 years later
It was a sunny day in Canterlot, everypony was happy with smiles on their faces, talking about food, clothes, and how rich they are. But there was one building that had a shadow over it, it was a orphanage that close down a couple of years ago because of the caretakers were beating up the children who came into the place. Yet inside there was a yellow unicorn mare strapped to the ceiling by chains on her fore hooves and above her was one lamp lighting the place where she hangs.
She was breathing heavily from the torture she just indoor. Her blue mane was raveled with a few spots of blood on it, her mouth was dripping blood and had cut marks on her face. Her back had whip marks and her legs were disjointed and broken and her cutie mark was burn off on both sides. Her eyes started to flutter of finally regaining consciousness. “I see you are finally awake” said a voice.
“Please… why are you ‘cough’ doing this to me” she said with fear.
“Why I'm doing this is because of what you did to me in this very place so many years ago” said the voice.
“Wha… But where are we”
“The sun orphanage”
The mare started to shake from fear after hearing that name again. “Please… I have no clue what you're talking about, all I did was work here and made the kids happy but I never knew about what the caretakers did to them when they wanted to talk to them in private” she said then started to cough up blood.
There was no answer for a few seconds until she heard the voice again but with a much darker tone. “You're lying”
“What do you mean I'm lying ‘cough’ I only-”but she stopped when she felt something sharp stab her in her stomach. Feeling that made her scream from pain and started to cry a little.
“I hate it when you ponies lie about this place and how they worked as somepony who had no clue what happened here” the voice said.
“Please you have to believe me, I'm telling the truth!” She yelled
“You aren't telling the truth and to prove it, I will let you see the last face you will ever see” After saying that, the pony walked into the light. It was a stallion unicorn with a dark blue coat. His mane was yellow with streaks of blue and his eyes were of two colors. His left was the color of the sky while his right was bright as the sun. Around his neck was a gold necklace with a gold heart on it.
“N-no you can't be here, you're dead! I checked your pulse and you had none and I even throw your lifeless corpse of a cliff and” then it suddenly hit her, she just said the truth to him just like he wanted him to do and looking at the stallion, he had a smirk on his face. “Fuck me”
Sunlight started to laugh at her and came a little closer to her with a knife in his yellow magical aura. “Now that I got the truth out of you, let me punish you for lying in my FACE!” He yelled as he stabbed the knife into her left eye.
The mare saw nothing but darkness from her left side and she yelled in pain. Then she heard laughter from Sunlight and felt the knife being pulled out. What she saw scared her, she saw her own eyeball on the knife and blood starting to pour out of the now empty eye socket. All she can do is scream in pain and cry tears from her right eye.
“You know” Sunlight started to say while twirling the knife with the eye with his hoof “This is the same knife that you stabbed me with when I tried to leave this place when I was young. He said with a evil smile. “Now I can have my you in my grasp, you will see what you turned me into”
The mare started to feel a different knife on her neck and now it was tracing across her neck. “Please… I never wanted to hurt you, I was told to do it ‘cough’ Please don’t kill me” she said. Sunlight stood there for a few seconds until he spoke.
“I don’t CARE!”
After saying that he jammed the knife into her throat and she started to squirm after feeling that. “I want you to feel every” he started to take the knife out a little “Single” and a little bit more came out “Moment” and a bit more and it was halfway out “OF THIS!” he yelled as he pulled the out of her throat and blood started to spray out of the now open wound. The blood sprayed across Sunlight’s face as he started to laugh and started to stab the knife into her stomach. He knew the mare was dead but he couldn’t help himself from letting out his rage from long ago against the ponies who tortured him and the others who were inside this building.
As Sunlight was about to stab his knife again into the corpse, he stop right before the knife entered as he heard a voice that made him stop. “Why are you doing this?” The voice spoke to him.
“Why I’m I doing this, I’m doing this to avenge the ponies whose souls that have been trapped in limbo and can never see the light of the heavens. That is what I’m doing... Mother” Sunlight said while looking up.
“You know that to fulfill you wish, you will need… to kill me” the voice said.
“I know that Mother so that is why,... you are my next target and that is the reason why I have spared you until now” He said with a tear in his eye. He waited for the voice to speak again but to no avail, he heard nothing. “I guess, I should leave before they come” but he was interrupted when the door to the orphanage blow up. Sunlight turned around (unfazed by the explosion) and saw the royal guard in the doorway.
In the doorway where two guards in gold armor and in the middle was a pony in purple armor. “Stop right there you murder!” Shining Armor said with a stern look.
All Sunlight did was give a sigh at him while still in the darkness of the building “Captain Shining Armor, we meet at last” he said.
All Shining did was snort at him with steam coming from it. “You are under arrest for the murders of fourteen ponies and”
“Fifteen” interrupted Sunlight.
“What do you mean fifte-” but stopped when he saw the mare still hung by chains in the air, lifeless and brutally tortured. One of the guards who was with him started to throw up at the sight. “You monster! WHERE ARE YOU!?” Yelled Shining.
The response he got was the sound of a window breaking and he looked to the right of the mare to see sunlight coming from it and saw the killer jump out the window.
Shining ran up to the window and looked out to see him fall to the ground in front of four guards

2 Minutes earlier
“All right, you all know what to do right men” said Shining who was talking to at least 20 to 30 guards.
“YES SIR” they all yelled in unison.
“Good, Firefight, Hammer, come with me, everypony else, surround the building” said Shining. The two guards he called followed him to the door while the rest separated to surround the building.
Four guards in particular, were just standing around talking to mares trying to impress them. One guard started to talk (who was a pegasus) “Well we know that the Captain will take care of this like he did at the wedding so why do we need at least half the guard to take one pony down”
“Well Sky Wall, I think he will need to retreat after he could not handle it and then we come in, get hurt and he comes again, defeat him and gain all the glory for himself like at the wedding” said a brown unicorn stallion.
“Yeah, like what Pole said” said a yellow unicorn.
“Shut up Washing, and stop copying what I say little brother!” said a very angry Pole.
“Sorry bro, but you know that I inspire you like always” said Washing with a smile.
“Yeah, I know little brother” Pole said while ruffling his blue mane (as he wore no helmet) and both started to laugh. “Anyway you guys know that I command this squad so why don’t we just ditch this job and go to the strip club” he said with a wink.
All three guards nodded their heads (while Washing was nodding faster) “Good then let’s” but stopped when he heard glass shatter. All four of them looked up to see Sunlight jumping from a window from the building they were supposed to guard.
As Sunlight landed from the 30 foot drop he looked up to see four guards looking at him with their eyes wide from the blood on his face. “Well, well, well, what do we have here” said Sunlight with a smile.
The guards shook their heads and then did a battle stance. They all kept looking at the very calm pony who jumped from a very high window as if nothing happened to him. Nopony spoke for a few seconds until Pole broke the silence “What you have here is one of the best guards to Princess Celestia and let me show you why they call me one of the best in the guard” said Pole who drew a sword from his armor and charged toward Sunlight.
All Sunlight did was smirk and right before the sword swung at him, Sunlight extended one hoof into the air and throw down something that looked like a bomb. Black smoke started to rise around Pole and the guards. As Pole swung his sword to Sunlight, Sunlight turned into dust as Pole’s sword made contact with his body. “Wha?” said a very confused Pole as he backed up with the rest of his men.
Then the smoke changed color from black to white as it now resemble a fog. Then they started to hear laughter, children laughter, which made the four guards cringe in fear and “W-who's out there” said a scared Pole.
They started to hear something move and looked around to see what it was. Then something quick grab a unicorn and he was pulled away into the fog and screamed from being pulled away. “Brick!” yelled Pole at the now missing guard.
Now the three of them started to quiver in fear as they knew that they might be next. ‘Oh Fuck this, I’m OUT” yelled Sky as he ran away into the fog from Pole and Washing.
“Sky wait!” Yelled Pole but he was to late, Sky was now too deep into the fog that he couldn’t hear him. “Celestia dammit!” yelled Pole but then heard his little brother starting to breath faster.
“Don’t worry little bro, I will make sure you will be safe” said Pole with a calm smile and in turn Washing started to smile too. Then he heard somepony starting to walk to them and Pole turned his head. He saw the silhouette of somepony walking to them. “Sky, i-is that you?” said Pole as he walked closer.
The pony still walked to Pole very slowly to him. “Sky please tell me that it’s you!” said a very frustrated and scared Pole. The pony fell towards Pole as he caught the pony. It was indeed Sky but something was different about him. As he started to check his face, he dropped Sky to the ground, scared at what he saw. What he saw was a horn that belonged to Brick stabbed into the forehead of the now dead pegasus. “What the FUCK DID YOU DO!” yelled Pole as he drew his sword with his magic.
“All I did was make his dream become reality, to become an alicorn” said Sunlight from somewhere in the fog and then followed by laughing. “Do you know what makes you important to me?” he said.
“What do you mean I’m important?!” said Pole with his eyes darting from left to right.
“You say that you have courage, bravery, and valor… yet it is all a cover to hide your true emotions” said Sunlight with a stern voice.
Pole kept looking all around him to see if he can find him. Then Sunlight’s muzzle came near his left ear and said one single word “Fear”
Pole’s eyes widened after hearing that word and he closed his eyes and turned around while swinging his sword to attack Sunlight and heard the the sword make contact with the pony. When he open his eyes, they widened at who he killed. He was now staring at his little brother who had tears in his eyes and said one single word. “Why?” And then the world around Pole felt like it went into slow motion as his brother’s head started to fall to the ground.
As the head landed on the ground, the world returned back to normal speed and then he sat down near his brother’s head. Then he grabbed his head and tears starting to form in his eyes and then cried into his brother’s mane.
“You know that your fear did this to you” said Sunlight as he was now walking to Pole.
Pole dropped the head and grabbed the sword he dropped and started to swing at random at Sunlight. “S-stay away f-from me” said Pole who was scared out of his life.
Sunlight used his hoof to block the sword and when it made contact, it shattered. He came closer to the sacred guard and now they were muzzle to muzzle. “Welcome… to my world” Then he started to laugh.
