//-------------------------------------------------------// Dormitory -by Mindpalace- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Dorm //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Dorm It was Friday, a few days after the Friendship Games. Twilight was in her dorm reading while petting a sleeping spike when there was a knock on her door. "Come in" Dean Cadence, Twilight's sister-in-law, entered "Hello, Twilight," said Cadence, smiling. "Hi, Dean Cadence. What brings you here?" asked Twilight. "I was wondering if you were excited about switching schools," said Cadence "I am. New school, new faces, new classes, plus I get to spend more time with my new friends." Twilight smiled, remembering the five girls who were also her five first friends. "Have you prepared everything?" Cadence looked around, noting that none of Twilight's science an research equipment was packed. Twilight thought for a moment. "I think so. I've talked to principal Celestia, decided on my classes, sorted my schedule, and studied the school map." "So you're not going to bring any of your equipment to your new dorm?" asked Cadence Twilight looked at Cadence, confused. "New dorm? What do you mean new dorm?" "It didn't cross your mind? You cant stay in this dorm Twilight, with you moving to a different school and all," Cadence said. "Oh." Twilight sat down on her bed and looked around the room. " I made so many memories here. I learned so much," she said sadly. Cadence felt sorry for Twilight. She could imagine how she felt about her dorm. She went to sit down next to her and put a comforting arm on her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll make plenty of new memories in your new dorm," she said. " Tell you what, I'll get someone to move your equipment for you, so that all you have to worry about is signing up for the dorm, okay?" Twilight looked up at her. "Are you sure? Moving all this stuff could be expensive, especially since you'll have to pay extra for the cushioning for the more delicate equipment." Cadence smiled a warm, caring smile. "Its the least I could do for my little sister." Twilight smiled. "Technically its sister-in-law." Cadence chuckled. "Doesn't mean I love you any less." It was Saturday afternoon, and Twilight was in vice principal Luna's office. Things were going...interestingly. "No more dorms? What do you mean no more dorms? How can there be no more dorms?" asked Twilight, more than a little worried. "I mean Miss Sparkle, that there are no more available dorms for you to sleep in. I'm sorry, but you were rather late with signing up for one," said Luna "Aren't there ANY dorms left? I'm okay with sharing one." Luna thought for a moment. "Well, there is one place I can put you, but..." Luna hesitated. "But what?" Twilight asked. "There is one dorm room left, but you will have to share it-" Luna said. Twilight sighed in relief "I told you, I'm fine with sharing." "-with a boy" "Oh" Luna pulled a file from a nearby cabinet and opened it, revealing the profile of a boy with spiky brown hair with confidence and kindness in both his smile and his eyes. "His name is Time Turner, though his friends call him Doctor" "Doctor? That's a weird nickname," said Twilight Luna shrugged. "Apparently he is some sort of genius. Top marks in every Science class, especially physics. He is also remarkably good with computers." Twilight weighed the situation. This Turner seemed to be an okay enough guy, if slightly eccentric, if his nickname were of any indication. His smarts were especially appealing to Twilight. Twilight saw the opportunity to make a new friend, and decided to take it. "I'll take it. I'll Take the room." Luna looked at her. "Are you sure? It is highly unusual for a boy and a girl to share a dorm room." "I'll be fine" "Very well, I'll see to it that you get your keys." It was nearly sunset when Twilight got to her dorm. The room was on the second floor and when she entered was pleasantly surprised. The room was very nice, painted a beautiful blue. The window that was in between the two beds had an amazing view of the grass and garden outside. She quickly checked the bathroom and kitchen and found that they were spotless. The room was also big, much bigger then she had expected. Even when sharing it with another person, she wagered she could still fit all of her equipment. Speaking of which, she saw that one of the beds was slightly ruffled, and the desk had electronics on it, with what appeared to be the main project in the center. It was about the size of a screwdriver, and was sliver with a blue tip. She wondered what its purpose was, and was about to pick it up, when she heard the door leading into the rooms open and then slam shut. She walked over, and saw the boy that was in the profile leaning with his back against the door. The boy had brown hair and blue eyes and wore a green bow tie just like in his profile. He was a bit taller then Twilight, and his attire consisted of a long sleeved shirt, ankle high boots and pants with suspenders. He was disheveled and panting and had a wild glee on his face. He looked at her and said, with a slightly British accent, one word that would mark the beginning of one of the most amazing things she would ever experience. The word? "Run"
