The Demented Doctor
This is the House, Nobody lives
Previous ChapterDoctors; they heal the wounded, tend to the ill, and are a ray of hope in one’s darkest hour. But some doctors are the man you see before the Reaper calls. Paid killers, be it with a knife, or chemical compound. They welcome you to Life and a New World, but also hold the Mortal Door for your visit with Death.
One Doctor started out as a normal practitioner, for he was successful. He had the drive and initiative to help others. He had his own Clinic, nothing big but simple and friendly. And depending on who was asked, the best thing to happen to him was his loving wife. He was a young, handsome, charismatic. but after the loss of his wife and unborn child, he just could not stitch back his connection with reality. Before Her passing, He was able to connect on a small level with his patients, some small topic of interest to talk about to soothe the patient while he worked. But after his loss, the connection was harder to make every day. After a while the connection simply did not exist, he would go through the motions but felt like he was reading a news article.
After a year, a series of mishaps led the Doctor astray. A slip of the knife led to a patient bleeding out. A faulty hose caused a patient to suffocate on nitrous oxide. A smeared prescription led to an overdose. But in a private small practice, not all records are kept. When someone is missing, the Police rarely suspect a doctor. With each slip-up, the Doctor took the body to his home, for some “practice of his skills”.
The Doctor continued his 'homework' for weeks. But the dead only offer so much feedback. So one day he decided to take one alive. A mare, a young looking 30 year old pegasus, came in with a complaint of stomach pains. He took her into the back, giving kind and soft words. Having her lay down on the table, he began to feel around her belly.
The short examination revealed to him the mare was suffering from appendicitis. Informing her so, he continued to explain that he could operate on her and she would be able to leave later that afternoon. Trusting the nice Doctor, with his handsome face and kind soft words, she agreed to the operation. The Doctor gave her a shot of anesthesia to knock her out. Before she fell into unconsciousness, she thought she caught a glimpse of Sin in his eyes, but her mind slipped before she could think on it.
She awoke to feeling a wet, sticky and cold bed against her back, and after moving her legs and wings; found shackles bound her to the bed. She flailed her limbs and screamed for help, but that scream came out as a muffled cry as pain shot up her side and throughout her mouth. Lifting her head and looking down, she saw a long line of stitches from the bottom of her rib-cage, down and around her hips. The stitches were sewn neatly, as if with care and great detail, but the skin was red and puffy, with freshly broken scabs oozing blood and puss. She was about to investigate the pains in her mouth when she heard heavy boots clanging on the metal floor. In walks a monster in a bloodied surgeon’s coat, elbow length gloves caked in gore, and the most maniacal stone face there could be on a stallion. At seeing the mare struggling with her bonds, he walks over to her grabbing a tray of bloody utensils with his magic “Oh? She is awake. You shouldn’t be awake. Have twenty more operations until done.”
She tries to scream, but cries at the immense pain in her mouth.
“Oh, yes. As for your pained silence, you were choking during the seventh operation. So I removed your tongue and teeth, before sowing your jaw and lips shut. Can’t have the 1,000th patient die before she is fully healed, now can we?”
At this, she takes a good look around the room. The walls and ceiling were decorated with mutilated bodies’ hanging from hooks and chains. The floor was a sea of crimson and chunks of flesh. To her left was a rusty wood stove with an assortment of stained pots full of blood and bits of pony body parts. To her right was a collection of beheaded mares, all laid in various provocative positions, all showing signs of… Use. She shuddered as the sight of it all brought back the local gossip and news stories; 'Police have identified more victims and plan on more than just the four murder charges filed today…. Confirmed earlier reports of cannibalism, The Building was a Scene of ghoulish slaughter, A large kettle on the stove which held boiled body parts, Have identified more victims, and plan on more than just the four murder Charges filed today….. Had sex with some of his victims before he killed them, and that he was also a Necrophiliac.....'
Turning back to the feel of a liquid running down her chest, she sobbed in silence as the Doctor slid a needle into her neck hearing chilling words before she blacked out.
“You look just like Her, and Pregnant too….”
Author's Note
This was apart of a college English assignment, the prompt given was to take a song and either write about it made you feel during a certain time in your life. Oddly enough out of the class I was the only one to create a story. Everyone else wrote how 'this song helped me when I was sad. Bla bla bla bla feelings'.
Disclaimer: I'm not harping on them. just that it shocked me to see no one else try to create....
Anyways, it was such a gruesome tale that I managed to freak out the professor to such a point, he asked if I was ok.
Also, I do not claim ownership of the “News” piece. As that is technically lyrics from Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses. The song not the movie. And this story is not a fan made spin-off of either. I haven't even seen the movie. I just used the premise of the scene given and worked from there.
With that said, hope you enjoyed this Demented Tale of Darkness!
